Yes I heard that too, though every concert they played was sold out, even playing 3 night concerts. I also heard the celebration tickets, maybe not all, were the most expensive tickets ever.
Happy to say I WAS THERE! This is my favorite Zeppelin performance… mesmerized!

Yes, they were in Madison Square Gardens in 1973 for three nights in a row and filled it to capacity each night (this night with this stellar performance was the best of the three). 🙂 And live concerts with crowds like that is how bands rolled back int he day. 🤩
Tickets were cheap back then too.

Great reaction. I maintain that the studio version of this song is one of the greatest things ever committed to tape. If you want more Led Zep, check out What Is And What Should Never Be, The Lemon Song, You Shook Me, The Ocean, Heartbreaker. So many great songs.
Love this song, and that was a great performance.
Three other blues tunes that I think you'll enjoy are "The Lemon Song", "I Can't Quit You Baby" and a can't miss "Dazed and Confused". They performed it during this same concert and it was 🔥.
I do recommend that you listen to the studio version of "Dazed and Confused" first. Zeppelin loved to improvise when they performed, so much so that at times you might not actually know what you're hearing during a live performance if you're not familiar with the song.
Edit: While I'm partial to Zeppelin's blues songs, that's not all they were about. Very musically diverse. If you're interested in doing a deeper dive into Zeppelin, I'm all in! :)
ALWAYS listen to the original studio recording masterpiece sessions of any legendary artist of the classic progressive rock era IT MAKES NO SENSE TO NOT LISTEN TO THE EXACT REASON why it became part of peoples souls otherwise you ruin your virgin listen and you are hearing some version always different if you want to understand HEAR EXACTLY WHAT YOU WERE MEANT TO LIKE WE ALL DID that said this is a completely different version that is from one very hot highly highly improvised night
