I just started a channel myself and already have 2 scammer videos one is dedicated to opening a gold strip shadowless deck that was a base unlimited deck instead and the recent video I did was 3 base unlimited packs I got. The community really needs to start cutting every pack from the top so it at least takes them out of circulation to be re sealed. I’m very passionate about this issue!!
Sorry to see this happen to you. Good to see you handling it so well just shows your character. Hope you decide to open the packs in videos and you pull a few 1999-2000 zards.
Wow the price has gone up on these. When I started my channel there was a wholesaler who still had one and was selling it to me for 10K. Watching this kinda makes me sick that people are doing this.
I work for a printer and those shrink wrap machines are hard to make a perfect seal like that, I would speculate that some of the scratches on the box happened from multiple attempts
Man that is so sickening. My hats off to you for your composure and attitude towards the whole situation. Opening shadowless and unlimited boosters were an irreplaceable part of my childhood. I am deeply sorry about this. As long as I've done business with you, you have always been truly trusting and of the upmost respect. I wish you and your family to be okay.
Awesome that you're able to keep a positive attitude through even something that extreme. Hard for anyone to ever trust a 1st edition box on the market with a fake that good floating around. Makes you wonder if that guy pawned any more of those into the market over the years
yeah, this could be a big problem. If the tape had held slightly better rusty would have likely not opened this box... probably ever, never knowing it was a fake. Collectors should be seriously concerned. Even if you are buying off well known trusted collectors it could be a duped box they didn't spot. Man, Rusty could well have sold this already if he didnt decide actually nope.

You might be surprised to know what I make. My wealth is truly in the life I get to live being a Dad all day long. You have to sell a lot of Pokemon cards very often to make a living off the profit especially paying all of yours taxes the way you should.
Sorry to hear this. Was reading this article on E4. I think the 20 downvotes for people who are saying they dislike the fact you got scammed.
Hey, I was the person who buy your Sapphire and Ruby sealed, I,m from the Netherlands. Back in 2014 ;)
Wow unbelievable....Great content for the community, I’ve never seen something like this before. It’s really unbelievable. Sorry for your loss. I’m glad you can keep a positive outlook about the cards and packs though. Good luck in the future.
You can see an odd curve to the edges on the top. As soon as you broke the wrapping off, it was clear it had been opened before... Damn.
That box cost 80 Grand 5 years ago? 0,0 Wish I had a time machine to go back to the old times!
It's the current price.
Back then is was valued around $8k or so but I paid $3500 cash and roughly 10 WOTC boxes added in for trade to put total value around $10k
@@TCA_Gaming Ah. I see. Glad it wasn't $80 back then! I like that you're doing a video series on it though ^_^
Quick heads up if you buy a uv light its it's easier to tell if its been tampered with it shows the spot where it was opend from
I just started a channel myself and already have 2 scammer videos one is dedicated to opening a gold strip shadowless deck that was a base unlimited deck instead and the recent video I did was 3 base unlimited packs I got. The community really needs to start cutting every pack from the top so it at least takes them out of circulation to be re sealed. I’m very passionate about this issue!!
How was the weight right, if there was tape inside of it?
It disgusts me how far people will go to screw somebody over and steal their money instead of just working for it themselves
Love watching your videos and seeing all these vintage packs I can’t afford. Sorry to see such a devastating loss to your collection. Look forward to seeing what they put in the rest of the packs and hope you can find a new box soon!
I know this video is over a year old now but the bulbasure card in the shadowless pack you opened with the red cheaked Pikachu was an error card it said Length 2'4" and Length 15lbs you can see it at time 14:29.
I don’t understand. Why was the cards on the top taped??
Hey TCA I'm from Australia will share this in our pokemon Australian community. Hope we can find this scammer and help you out. You're a very honest guy in our community. I love your openings!! Really honest and humble guy!!
I appreciate that. I know the guy I bought it off of, but Im sure he is not in the community anymore. I hope from all the deals we did together over the years that he was not the origination of the scam.
@@TCA_GamingI see what you mean brother. Hope your alright and hoping good things happen for you in the future. You're an amazing human being. Keep up the amazing work you do in our community.
Your camera light glare is killing me!!! I’m moving my phone as if it was the glare from my light ahahaha
I wouldn't be surprised if the person who sold it was also scammed. Thanks for the tips so it doesn't happen to us. Given how the values inflated and when you bought the box initially, I'm hoping you were able to salvage at least some value out of this compared to what originally paid.
Thanks for doing this video. Is there a place you purchase now that guaranteed not resealed? I want to buy a box but not sure where to start.
I am deeply sorry about this. As long as I've done business with you, you have always been truly trusting and of the upmost respect. I wish you and your family to be okay.
Do u have any more info want to buy some 1st edition booster box or the reg booster box
Rusty your awesome. I would have lost it. Your calm and cool approach to Pokémon is why I love watching your videos
I’d be kicking doors off and heading down to the Amazon rainforest with a blunderbuss
I can't believe you can still find these sealed boxes anywhere. Do people have just tons of them sitting in storage somewhere for 20 years?
It sucks that you were scammed but I have to admire the attitude of whats happened has happened, lets show everyone, educate the community and that takes bravery when you're talking tens of thousands of dollars. I had a little chuckle with the enthusiasm of opening packs and pulling a red cheeks Pikachu ^.^
You have to use the calm app to stay chilled like this - wow
Why do some have the wizards seal and the others don’t? I thought all wizards versions of the TCG had the wizards mark on the seal. Or did they not do it on the first/early sets when the game first launched?
I think wizards made the first few editions and then stopped making them after a few years and sold it to to Nintendo
Lol dude “he went to work in the rainforest” omg no never guna get that money back
