Prices will drop Pokemon spikes every 7-8 years 2 years ago I got all my Charizard s for dirt cheap but 5 years back they were to expensive for me to purchase on eBay.

Same story with me. All my friends my cousin every one pulled one. Best I ever got was a venasuar as well. Today finally pulled a shiny Charizard from hidden fates. At at 31 yr old i about lost it. Will be 17 in february so I'm not old enough for the original base set, but my older brother and sister are, and I got their collections when I was young. I got my first base zard a few year ago, and it graded beckett 7. Never gonna sell that.
Your Pokemon experience was very similar to mine! One of the first holos I pulled in 1999 was a Venusaur (still an all time favorite) and I never pulled that Charizard. Peer pressure had me leave Pokemon, but I finally pulled that Charizard in 2016 and I lost my mind! Love your content man!
Thanks for sharing your story. It's good to know I'm not the only one. Sometimes it's tough when your younger when people label the hobby as uncool. I think now a days it's a lot more socially acceptable considering it's well past the "fad" stage.
I want to start my Pokemon collection but as a college student that has a broken car, I have my priorities. My collection so far is a lot of Hidden Fates (because it was hard to get, but they decided to reprint it to death and drop the pull rate into Oblivion), an ex crystal guardians pack, and one of each art of Base set unlimited(I bought them "unweighted" but who know if that was true or not, about $110 a piece)
yeah Charizards my favorite Pokemon as well. Been collecting zards from all over the world for 15 years now. I have amassed an army of 3,000 of them not counting my sealed products.

Out of curiousity, ever considered grading that psa10 shadowless 1st edition charizard by Beckett's? Or wouldn't it make a difference if they graded it as a 10 as well? Because you mentioned it is harder to get a 10 from them then it is to get a psa10. Awesome vid bro, collection is absolute fire🔥🔥
I remember trading a bunch of stuff as an 11 year old in 2000, to get a scratched up, creased base Charizard, still got it to this day haha. Now as an adult, over the past few years ago I started buying graded Charizards. Any idea why prices have jumped so much recently? Especially in uncertain covid19 times. Here is my humble collection PSA 9 base, BGS 9 base, PSA 8 shadowless, PSA 9 base2, 2x PSA 9 Japanese, PSA 10 20year anniversary Japanese. I want to add more but prices are starting to hurt.

I don't have boatloads of money, so I can't afford loads of the amazing stuff, but I do have a heavy Base Set Charizard artwork booster pack :) I'm so glad to be able to keep such a large part of my childhood nostalgia! And to have been able to get it at some point last year before the prices blew up is just a bonus :P
Good on you for sticking with your hobby for all these years. It paid off... I'm still into all of the stuff I did as a kid as an adult. I share a lot of what I did with my kids and they get to enjoy it with me. Curious, what does your other half think of your hobby?
Dude I have a whole binder filled with those Topps chrome cards from '99. Have a few Charizards, mewtwo, Rayquaza, deoxys, just chilling in there with them.
This is INSANE man. I'm one of the guys who had a great collection back as a kid in the 90s and early 2000s and fell out of the game. The closest I ever got was pulling a first edition dark charizard but I have NO idea what happened to it. I've got back on board for sword and shield and I'm about 80% of the way to the master set. Whole heartedly enjoyed this.

I would suggest make a video on "The Anatomy of a Pokemon Card" which goes into details cards. For example, 1st edition thick vs . thin, shadowless, Holo, Non Holo. There are some videos out there but are bad. Just a suggestion.
