3:57 Father 'Oblivion and on till the end , This piece never fails to bring a smile and sense of amusement, as well as amazement! .... STUNNING musicianship on one of Frank's most difficult pieces. Edgard Varèse - 'The present day composer refuses to die.'
this is just incredible. It's played with surgerical precision. Lacks a little bit of 'soul' compared to Frank's performances, but it's right like that I suppose. Indredible job.
any songwriter in the world cannot even reach this level in terms of Frank Zappas musical abilities, let them all attack Zappa and Zappa will still be unscathed. Pure Genius that incomparable in human standard
I'll tell you what ....I don't think the vocal harmonies in Zappa's band ever sounded as good as this. This is an incredible performance of this tough piece of music. And where they bust in the Rollo section at 3:18 is great. I defy any guitar player to learn this section and play it at tempo. Great job Dweezil.
Frank was so far advanced. I heard him for the first time on a pirate radio station in Gary, IN. Inca Roads. That 'WOWED' me and I followed. There is joy here. Unlike other groups. These guys respect the audience, not expecting to sell $100 T-Shirts, Though, they still like it.
@@wardrich"Zappa Plays Zappa" (Dweezil Zappa Franks son on guitar) is a double disc DVD or CD of 2 performances (Seattle, WA & Portland, OR) 2007ish I believe.
i have watched the literal fuck out of this concert (amongst a 1000 others). if you havent spent half your life doing so, i recommend it. like classical music it just makes you a better, wholesome utility- muffin.
Frank always took so many liberties and didnt like to sing the stuff so true to the album. This is incredible! So great Dweez.and Napoleon Murphry Brock keepin it real!
Right on kids keep up the good work, running around the McCormick Place at The NAMM Show so many years ago, I bumped into Moon and Dweezil Zappa, man I play and had been listening to Frank Zappa for over 25 years at that point, what a pleasure it was to bump into Musical Geniuses, I had caught George Duke with Billy Cobham here in Chicago at Just Music before it became Guitar Center some years before that.
They should have played Nanook Rubs It also, beause the transition from that song to St Alphonso is the way those songs are locked in most people's head... Besides I want to hear about the fur trapper ND the led filled snow shoe and how he has to go trudging across the tundra mile after mile , right down to the parish of St. Alphonso. It is like they yada yada the best part of the story.
@y7u7r7i yeah, that rollo section in the middle of St Alphonzo took me 5 days of playing nothing else just to get it to around half speed. They take it at a hell of a rate here
Frank Zappa has been a genius in music for forever love his style. Dynamo Humm,Camarillo Brillo ,JOES GARAGE how many more do I have to name? Loved him since the Ted Allen show check it out on the tube
Great band! Fine performance (of course). But where's the dominant 7th in the opening 7/4 section? Just before 'and my mama cried' or before 'save your money don't go to the show', the guitar lick that is a 6th turns into a dom 7th. Small thing that makes a big difference!
It melts my head to imagine how DIFFICULT it must be to play this live. Good job !
I just got on my feet and did the funky Alfonzo. Need to sit down now.
i cant tell you how many years 5:54 has been stuck in my head

2:22 can we talk about the female playing both the sax & the keys at the same time
That’s real talent!!!
On Scheila!

Yes it is so good, but i know exactly what you mean! The YCDTOSA1 version of yellow snow is the absolute GOAT imo
@@benvizemusic Absolutely. The YCDTOSA version blows my mind everytime I listen to it.

Magnificent. I got chills during the "Good morning your highness/I brought you your snowshoes" part.
Fucking best part
Incredible
Amazing percussion addition at the end. Hats off, kudos for who wrote that. Thank you very much.
Love that dweezil plays the rollo interior on the guitar too
3:18 is a monstrously difficult passage, absolutely fantastic execution.
50 años después la música de Zappa sigue siendo de vanguardia!!!! Genio bigotudo!!!!!
this is very well rehearsed to get all this shit right. hard work.

Artists create and the untalented critique. Frank would be proud.
Holy moly - Is Ruth Underwood on Mallets?
Every single player is killing it.
this DVD is absolutely positively the best spent $ you will ever pay. order it ....now!
What's it from? I don't even know who this is 😭 it was a rando youtube recommendation prob based on all the Zappa I've been grooving to

What a great fucking band. Frank nods his head in approval while trying to lick his way out from beneath the yellow snow.

I can't imagine hauling this much gear. Setting up and taking down. Sounds awesome.

Wow...awesome performance! Frank would be proud of his son.
I was hoping for Frank.
Nuts.
Epic performance by the best zappa plays zappa band ever!!
The funky music keeps on rollin !!
I just can't go a day without watching this, it's just so good. Such a phenomenal performance
what blows me away is Dweezel playing Rollo Interior on guitar!
That was beautifully done. If FZ were alive, he would've been head-bobbin' smilin'.
Keep Making Your Dad Proud
This tour was the s**t!! NMB, Bozzio & Vai. Short of Frank coming back from the dead you’re not topping that lineup.

Good Morning your Highness!!
fan-bloody-tastic!!! Wow You've done frank proud, beautiful rendition.Moooooooore,! Come to Australia
I challenge anyone to start watching this and not see it out till the end. Pure brilliance!
THe video description alone deserves everyone to put this vid on their favs list
Thank you very much Dweezil . That was beautiful.
Y’all go see this band when they come to town.
Napoleon Murphy Brock rockin' like ol' times.
He is fantastic!
@@ullihoffmann980 I would say he was the best lead vocalist and front man that Zappa had after Flo and Eddie.
I like this too. Although not a huge Dweez fan. But well done here,.. and Joe Traverse is a great Great drummer !
Top tier musicians.
I've seen Dweezil a few times..his dad would be proud
I saw him in Liverpool.
The old fella would indeed be proud.
I'm in total agreement. I'm almost in shock hearing him now...he has grown leaps and bounds as a guitar player! Frank would be so proud.
Es lo primero que oí de Zappa hace más de 35 años y hoy al oírlo se me saltan las lágrimas. Gracias a todos.
Beautiful thanks
just brutal....its like yer cryin uncle and they sill wont let up...love this stuff
Thankyou for music 💞
Find ja immer gut, wenn Zappas Kompositionen weiterleben.
Wollte aber grad Zappa hören.
ZPZ played the entire album on a tour 2 years ago. This year they are doing "Roxy and Elsewhere."
Her name is Scheila Gonzalez
Far more refined. Smooth transitions, superior musicianship.
Tom in Utica NY
Thank's for uploading!! this is just amazing, grate song!

I was disappointed that they didn’t give us Nanook Rubs it
Still bloody amazing tho
damnit they just nailed the level of zappas band here. gz dweezil and co. nice to hear napoleon again.
Yep Dweezil and band are rocking it!!!
@y7u7r7i yeah, that rollo section in the middle of St Alphonzo took me 5 days of playing nothing else just to get it to around half speed. They take it at a hell of a rate here
To play this song live is a feat. This is beyond amazing. Phi Zappa Crappa
no, my dad had a '74 Catalina with an 8-track.....it was the only 8 track I had....
dweezel looks so content,i wonder if the female sax player is napoleons Brocks daughter?also the music is perfect.
And Iam clapping out loud, here. Standing too, lighter held high!!
I'm Really Suprised of that don't have at least 1 million views...
so, perfect.
This is just WOW!!!
absolutely fantastic!!
This is tighter then Joan Rivers face!!!
Just brilliant and Franks kids dont get close to enough credit.
Still great entertaining music
real good tribute, with that salsa part at the end...
Tight and smoking, the added treat being Napoleon on lead. Of course, Dweezil would assemble such an amazing band.
WTF , I'm 67 y old , time's flyin by , 'n these are back , again and 4 all
what a great performance
Crazy good rendition , faultless .

Is that Napoleon Murphy Brock singing lead? Excellent choice for the Yellow Snow suite (or for just about anything else, too)!
I don't know this fella. I could look him up but what should I know
Btw napoleon Murphy brock is the coolest name evr
Yes it is.
My favourite Zappa song !
Sorry ,songs .
dweezil is easily one of the most underrated guitarists
Totally Brilliant!
Thank You- thank you, thank you, Dweezil. From my heart.
I just had a eargasem 🎶👌🙏
STILL AS GREAT AS WHEN I FIRST HEARD IT WAY BACK IN THE 70S.
very good!!! good job!!
Fucking beautiful! Brought a year to my eye. R.I.P to the great one!
i listen to Apostrophe (`) everyday at work, and i watch this video when i`m chillin`. i`ll be knocking the jockies off the lawn
He’s a great singer
When i heard St. Aphonso s Pancake Breakfast for the first Time i couldnt believe humans played it.
Holly shit, this is fucking great. This band is just awesome. Perfect!
Dweezel does a damned good job, doesn't he... gotta go see him one of these days
That's why Frank was a genius.
Just freaking amazing! Someone please point me to where I can see this group doing other songs, perhaps other Zappa ones?
i didnt blink, what a music lesson
Dude is good, love it
Dweezil and Napolean Murphy Brock. It's like a dream.
This is Zappa's son Dwezil, who actually first learned to play things like Van Halen before playing his dads work. I'd say this is pretty nice.
If your dad was Mozart, it would only make sense that you would try to keep his music alive. Genius composition.
Where can i buy the full dvd?
love it...
Good job, folks!
Dweezil was a GOOD guitar player. Since he woodshedded for this tour, he is fucking awesome!
Awesome!!!
