Frank Zappa was the very first rock concert I went to. It was when Frank I & The Mothers did Dinah Moe Humm. Elvin Bishop opened the show. It was a great concert.
Me too! My first concert was Frank Zappa at The Beacon Theater, NYC... he stopped the concert because a toddler wandered up to the stage and FZ was irate that the parents weren’t even in the theater room (!!). He was very concerned about the child, and just stopped the show and demanded the parents come to the stage... it took them an uncomfortably long time...where he then reprimanded them, in front of EVERYONE 😆🤣👍👍👍. It was really something! I was super impressed with him, as a decent human being, standing up for an abandoned child. Oh, and yeah, I fell in love with his brain & music.
The DiscReet Records 45 RPM single version of this song peaked as high as No. 86 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1974. Great, catchy, oddball rock tune. A classic.
Most excellent B&W motion picture rendition of Zappa's epic musical story about revenge against a brutal fur trapper using yellow snow from where the huskies go. Rub it!
I remember hearing this for the first time when I was in my 20's. (I was stoned.) I think I laughed harder than just about any other time in my life, especially when he said, "And he stood up, and he looked around, and he said, 'I can't see!'... doh doh doh doh dohhhh." Some time later I played it for my mother. I thought it would crack her up. It didn't. When it was over I asked her if she thought it was funny. She said no, she thought it was kind of sad. Interesting.
uhm is your mom from Germanic people by background? If you take the song at its word, literally, I suppose it is a sad song and the bluesy music accompanying it. Yeah, I can see where she could think of it as a sad song. I am also of German (and Irish) persuasion and I thought it was funny too. Shrug, Zappa was a Genius.

Frozen wind began to blow
Under my boots and around my toes
The frost that bit the ground below
It was a hundred degrees below zero...
And my mama cried
And my mama cried
Nanook, a-no-no
Nanook, a-no-no
Don't be a naughty eskimo
Save your money, don't go to the show
Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said oh, oh oh
Well I turned around and I said ho, ho
And the northern lights commenced to glow
And she said, with a tear in her eye
Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow
Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow
