- How to disassemble and reassemble your Avon dual-port FM12 gas mask. This time I decided to just put the disassembly and reassembly in one video for your convenience.
I didn't do it myself in the video, but if you want to actually try and disassemble your oronasal cup and the FM12's drinking system, Gas Mask Collector Review actually has a video on it himself. Check it out here • FM 12 disassembly and ...
Hope you found this video informative and maybe even enjoyable :)

Thanks! This is just what I needed. This makes it much easier to get it properly clean when washing it.
For sure, glad I could help out a bit!
Finally someone who explains it good and simple 🙏
nice demonstration man keep it up, hope you make more content in the future
thanks bro 🙏
Just to let y’all know if you have a dual port version because I don’t know if this applies to single port variants but when you take out the valves one is a little shorter than the other as in that little bendy piece on the end one should be a little shorter you can tell because it looks like it was cut use this valve on the side you don’t intend to use or it’ll interfere with the secondary noise transmitter when you screw it off doesn’t really matter but just a little note
Nice type 3
how do you remove the side ports ?? not just the valve ??
Nice video bro. Get the m50 next lol
Just one question tho, are the valves the same type used on the FM54 or Fm53?
I am not 100% sure but them being a part of the newer 50s series, it would lead me to assume they’re different. Also thanks, glad you liked the video !
yo bro, i think my M61 canisters DO leak a little cos my self sealing disks are showing little black marks and dots. But when i shake the filter over white paper i see nothing; im thinking it could just be dirt or the paint on the filters rubbing against the valve
@@yomada7790 oh ok. That’s how mine is. It’s so weird cuz I did the same test and nothing showed up. But I do feel a bit of carbon dust on my self sealing valves. My 3M manufactured M61 filters leak less tho out of my lot. But thanks for sharing! If you’re going to do a review or something, I look forward to it!
I cannot remove the speech module is there an easier method?
are you following the step on where you turn the drinking tube out of the way first? (inward towards the middle of the PSM) because sometimes that blocks you from removing the speech module
@@yomada7790 yes it's just hard to pull it off
@@thegravewalker7645 okay then, make sure your drinking tube is unwrapped and not around the PSM. And then try taking your hands and instead of covering the whole PSM to take it off, get your fingers under only the top so that the top comes off first before the bottoms and side. Maybe you can get more leverage that way instead of trying to pull the whole PSM off together. Hope that makes sense a bit ?
Oh nice can I see what your filter looks like?
Can I move to filter to the left side instead of right? I need right side to aim with my rifle and filter is in the way.
If your mask is a dual port, then of course you can switch it! But if it’s made to be only LH or RH configured, then you can’t move it unfortunately.
@@yomada7790 the mask has a 2nd speech on side it don t look like it can be detached
dang, sorry about that then
Hey could you make a video on how to put a vpu on a Fm12?
That _would_ be a cool video to do, however I have neither the original Avon FM12 VPU nor the adapter:/ But, I do know that a few videos exist of it on youtube already! Here’s one by OKB-776 ua-cam.com/video/6fGebDNlwYk/v-deo.html
How do you remove the latex smell from the mask?
hello there! That’s a bit of a tough question I don’t know how to answer exactly. But, of two ways, you could either try just wearing the mask more to get used to the smell, or just try to wash it out of the mask with soap and water (being sure to rinse thoroughly so you don’t then become irritated by the smell of the soap) Again, im not really sure how to solve that exactly, but I hope this helps a little bit. Apologies
@@yomada7790 Thanks for the reply! Has the smell from your masks gone away yet?
@@donwarren3253 Well, there is a small scent but it doesn’t bother me at all. I’m guessing i’ve taken the “gotten used to it” route haha
@@yomada7790 The scent isn't toxic...right? The masks + filter seem pointless if it protects you from the outside, only to poison you from within the mask
@@yomada7790 is it possible to put the valves back once they’re out?. And is it really required to take the caps of to use a filter?
So, are you Chinese American?
what gave it away lol
