    I really appreciate it when designers also consider the comfort of passengers in the second row seats. Reclining and lots of leg space are big advantages of this truck over it's competitors.

      Except for not using a 3.92 geared Ram to get the slowest time possible. I know and have owned many. Rams are a lot quicker than these guys would have you beleive. Maybe are gas is better in Canada. Mine would do better towing a trailer lol.@@TFLtruck

      Indeed. In the current market, there's probably something to gain by not only differentiate themselves from the Dodge brand, but also from the big three in general. The big three concept is very old fashioned, and so are the products in many ways(2016 Ram 3500 owner here and happy to be so). So for Ram to differentiate they are also making a point of thinking in new ways, and being a modern company.

    I have a question about the E-torque\starter for 2019. If the battery dies, how do you start the vehicle? Obviously you can't jump start it, right? Does it come with a converter\charger? And, if the 48v battery is dead or disconnected, how do you open the tailgate?

    This video was made 4 years ago! And now all of the other manufacturers had to step up their game to match the quality of the interior and the big screen infotainment system. It’s going to get to the point of the big screen battles. Toyota as copied a lot ideas from Ram and ford to redesign their aging interior! They even went to a turbocharged v6 lol 😂

    These truck prices are insane. I mean, the resale isn't as strong as in the past because of the profit increases. The average depreciation rate is around $650 a month! So boys and girls this means before the average person gets a loan that the truck loses at least $7,800 a year in value. Add this to a pay a loan on a 60k thousand dollar tag with a 5k down payment and your monthly note is still around $1,100 with a good rate. Add $1,100 + depreciation and this truck or trucks like it, are costing the average person $1,750 a month with subpar mpg. Jeez. Aside from this, can't wait to you get it in Colorado.

    • @dchawk81
      @dchawk81 6 років тому

      Will NorthAmericanGroup What do you mean "before the average person gets a loan"?
      That process takes like, 30 minutes. Or less. In fact I got mine with a 5 minute call to the credit union for the truck. Year later it was a 2 minute website visit for the dealer on the car. And no I didn't trade. I kept both.

    • @Naginc
      @Naginc 6 років тому

      When i became the sun.. I totally agree. I used to own a few dealerships, and I lived thru 2003 -2005. When gas became high, every lease return you could hear cries from the banks. So true value matters or you have a ton of inflation. Funny thing is....if you look at the mpg's from 2003 and 2007, it really hasn't increased on average at all. How is that possible...I pray when gas prices do increase that American families will be able to rebound.

    Let me just say I have NO brand loyalty here. I'm not a FORD, GM, RAM, TOYOTA, OR NISSAN "guy". I am however looking for a high trim model full sized truck. With this entry, I am leaning toward a Ram 1500. Its a great looking truck with a lot of innovation, capability, and the best interior. I think the other full sized manufactures need to be worried. Ford and GM should be nervous. Ram is coming up on you.

    Message for Mr. Michael Manley : This Rebel is close to perfection but something serious is missing . I have a recipe for you to make this truck the best on the planet. This Rebel needs that ecodiesel . I was ready to buy this truck but I don"t like 10 mpg. I am doing overlanding and I need fuel economy. If you are going to put that ecodiesel into the Rebel I will definitely buy this truck. Damian Overlander

If they drop a Rebel TRX Hellcat with limited slip front differential, rear E-locker that works in 2wd, more suspension travel and either the 6.4L or 6.2L SC Hemi I'd be sold. And offer the 12" nav screen in the Rebel TRX please.

    I was so funny last Tuesday, left work on Scottsdale Rd. headed south for an appointment. Came up to the light at the 101 and noticed the RAM in front of my Power Wagon had different taillights, me thinks to myself, hmm this guy got some aftermarket ones. Then I noticed LED turn signal on the mirror. Brain still didn't click, after all it had been a day at work. Fingers numb from the keyboard. Get on the freeway and pass it, then I noticed the hood. I dusted that little 5.7 with much gratification. ;-) Saw several more later that week and talked with one of the guys that clean them after Andre spills his latte and scone crumbs all over the cab at a gas station near the dealership that they take them to at night. He likes them, but gave the nod to the PW.

    At the 3:23 mark we see the exhaust pipe outlet. Why so large when the actual diameter of the pipe exiting the muffler is so small? To give the impression of a larger diameter? Isn't that a deceptive practice? I'm a Ram fan, own one in fact, but I don't like deceptions like this. Make that short length of pipe of larger diameter, or better yet, make the entire exhaust pipe of that same diameter, or leave things alone, imo.

    Andre, for the Limited model, you indicated that you calculated the weight of the truck at ~5700 lbs. I assume the GVWR was 7100 lbs, so the payload was ~1400 lbs. Was the truck fully optioned or were there any significant (i.e. heavy) options omitted? I'm trying to determine what the real payload capacity is for a fully loaded Limited. I currently have a '13 Sport, 6'4" bed with Ramboxes and Ram lists the payload for my vin as 1326 lbs, however the payload sticker on the door lists 1077 lbs. In my next truck, I definitely want all the features...and more payload :-) Since it's so new, I haven't been able to get the actual payload numbers from any dealers yet.
    PS. Thank you to you and the rest of the TFL crew for the videos you put out, they are very helpful!!

    The Rebel was traveling over one section going up a rocky hill, (at about 3:40 in the video), and it sounded like something was loose on the suspension. It was making a heck of a racket! Was there an issue with truck????

    Is there a big difference between the suspension of the Rebel and the limited? I love the Rebel with the off road tires but having the adaptive cruise control is something that's a must for me sitting in Denver traffic. How easy would it be to get a limited and put some beefier tires on it?

    While the new Ram is a great truck overall I’m a bit let down, here’s why;No extra HP, same hemi and same V6, no extra gears, competition offering 10 speed now, while the outside looks clean I also find it a bit bland and too similar to the old Ram, I’m betting GM and Ford will be lighter and faster with better fuel economy, the up level interior is beautiful but I find no use for a huge infotainment screen that complicates simple controls.
    As a current Ram owner I’m going with GM or Ford for my next truck. I’m very impressed with the useful features the new Sierra offers (tow command, heads up, more powerful V8,and magnetic ride) and the F-150 also offering extra power and more features that I’ll use. Sorry Ram, takes more than a big screen and stitched leather to make a best in class truck! We’ll try again when they offer a 400+ HP V8 (sans hybrid crap) and a 10 speed auto to keep up with Ford and GM.

    I couldnt find a dual sunroof on 2019 models when I tried to build one, just the normal sunroof upfront. How does that truck have the bigger sunroof??

    How does it ride compared to the out going model and which suspension gives a smoother road ride? Really looking for a truck that won't kill me with my neck arthritis. What it the tow rate with the 5.7 3.21 rear end?

    Its probably not that big a deal, but i had a small issue with when you were attaching the trailer and you put the 2 hooks on the hitch facing down instead of up. When i was going through hotel 8 recovery school (in the army), our instructors ALWAYS told us hook up, as in the part that opens should be facing up towards the sky or away from the truck in the event crap hits the fan, the busted hook will snap itself to the ground instead of towards the trailer or some innocent bystander. Most people probably wouldnt think much of my concern given that the possible burst of energy isnt as much as a winch line thats under thousands of pounds of pressure, but i always "hook up" my trailer when connecting even my little 4' x 6' trailer to my vehicles because of it. Other than that, i did like your review, any upcoming 2019 ecodiesel reviews? Thanks :)
