@@mummriken99 It depends. Some play better with pick and some with fingers. There is no right or wrong here. There are great players in both categories.
Honestly, I Love the way that record sounds originally. I know Jason should’ve been turned up more in the mix but I kinda dig that dry, heavy guitar that sounds like all the air is being sucked outta the room. Still, it’s nice to see a capable Bassist demonstrate how the bass line could’ve sounded had it been more prominent in the mix. Very nice work.
This song was the first song to really strike me, lyrically and musically, as a kid. And my man you FUCKING DESTROYED IT! Can't wait for the ride the lightning series!
You should do the entire, "And Justice for All" so we can hear the bass. Jason Newstead was cheated out of a great album. Sounds better when you can hear the bass!
I didn't realize how awful that choice was until I looked at some of the bass lines from this album. They're all great and add a lot to the songs. Why Lars thought it was a good idea to make them inaudible is something I'll never understand.
When I can't figure out how a song from And Justice for All would be with an actual bass line, I check up on this channel, it's the most reliable and clean source ever. Amazing cover, bro!
Jeez, I just freaking love this guy for keeping in my mind to play bass regularly. And to kick some asses sometimes with crazy fingering thrash pieces like in this case. xD
I know barely anything about bass guitar chops. I like that you played without a pick. Your playing sounded tight/clean to me. I also like that you pulsed (nodded your head) as a professional should be able to while playing imo. Nice job!
Any of the Metallica bass purists would be cringing so hard right now. Because of knowing Jason using a pick It sounds absolutely amazing yes But using a pick would also just get you that much closer That’s just my opinion But still Amazing tone and performance Dyer’s Eve us definitely a difficult one to play, with or without a pick
It sounds great! My guess is that they're using the Darkglass Microtubes 500 or 900 head that they use in a lot of their demos with the drive section set on the B3K setting. I'd love to get a peak at how they have the EQ/Drive setup.
Okay, but can you play Dyers Eve with your fing-
Oh, okay.
*sees pick*
Ok lezgo.
*throws pick*
OH SHI-
0:00 *throws pick away* Such a bad ass player!! Tone and technique are excellent!!!
Georgios Basioukas @Davie504
How is that bad ass? With pick sounds way heavier!
@@mummriken99 nah josh digs them strings hard harder than a pick player could at those speeds

I use a pick for when I need a certain type of tone, but he nails it here with his fingers, its so bright!
I would need to step into the hyperbolic time chamber to catch up to this man

Amen!!!
I struggle to play it with a pick and this dude just kills it !
*throws away pick, bass, amp and start crying...
It should inspire you! If he can do it, so can you. If not, at least you can definitely do it with a pick. :))

We did!🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@joshbeast8599 I realized the whole album was done with bass after I wrote that.
Jason not cheated it.it was Lars to ask turn it low

Once again, Twinklefingers, god of metal thunder, has shown his power!

A collision between Dyers Eve and Silent Scream maybe create a new Big Bang
This is so good and imaginative, they should have had bass on the original!
Dude, did you audition back in the day?!!
You earned my subscription even though I am a drummer 😂.
So this is what it was supposed to sound like ooooh. Wow even better.
