I love that anything off of And Justice For All is essentially a backing track for bass playing. Amazing tone though and great playing.

This dude is just grooving. That tone is so beefy too. Totally changes the way this song makes you feel. I can’t believe Lars had Jason’s bass lowered to damn near nothing on that album. If I were James, I’d have stepped in and stopped that shit with the quickness.

I was 10 years old when my mother drove me to the mall to buy this the day it came out (1988) in my small town. The artwork at 0:09, I had that shirt, and about 8 others and yeah long hair played a fucking bass and Cliff was my hero, damn how the times change, now I'm bald and have a long beard and my daughter wears Metallica shirts, her favorite song is spit out the bone. @@jamie.777 I Was a freshman when it came out and this cassette was religion to me lol ..disappointed I could'nt make out the bass since I was a new aspiring Bass player but Still loved every minute of listening to it and still do 30something years later.

Your playing on this whole album is supremely tasteful. If the guys in metallica had sense they'd re-release the album with your bass tracks so fans can hear as it should've been.

The original tracks were damaged from being edited so much in the studio.

Another part of it is that the guitars are already really bassy on the album which took over the bass layer even more
@@knubly7507 I think they down-tune their strings in a few songs.
I think Cliff and the rest of Metallica had something special and his loss was maybe harder for them than they wanted to admit at the time. I could be wrong but I know his loss was bad for the guys in many ways.
