    ‪@kfconcept‬ recently sent me a Nano-X 1/4 Black Pro Mist filter to test out, and I often hear people asking "what is a pro mist filter?!" In this video, I touch on what it is, what it does, when it's useful, and my thoughts on the K&F Concept diffusion filter.

    I love the way you explained this - one of the most helpful and casual, and straight up honest explanations I've seen! Subbed and looking forward to more videos!

    I love the look these filters give. I have to admit tho... ever since I started using Dehancer I would rather do it in post. That way I can control the amount no matter what or even if I just forgot my filter I can add it in later! Nice work on this video bro!

      I don’t disagree with you at all @510visualz, but the thing stopping me from doing that - my heavy a$$ 5D4 files. Anytime I apply Dehancer and export, I’m not exaggerating when I say it quadruples the export time, at a minimum, and that’s if my video is a pretty basic talking head like this one. Literally the only time my M1 fans really spin up is when I use Dehancer in Premiere. Now, we’ll save that argument for another day. 😉😂

      @@AnthonyToglife That is very interesting! I don't think I noticed that when I use it in FCP. But you right about that being a discussion for another day lol #TimeToSwitch lol

      @veephohtography0610 do it bruh, they're definitely a good tool to have in the kit for a dynamic look. I just used it on a sunset shoot the other day, I loved the way it bloomed the natural highlights from the sun.

    I've always been close to pulling the trigger on some of these for my lenses. One day I'm actually going to do it lol

      @AnthonyToglife  Рік тому

      It’s a look worth having in your toolkit, honestly @ks_portraits. I use it for all my YT vids but I don’t always use it for client work. I like having options and although you can obtain a similar look in post, there’s nothing like getting a look organically in cam.

      Go for it but if you have multiple lenses with different size threads then choose the biggest one and use step down rings like @AnthonyTogLife does.

    I shoot flash through a double diffused softbox for portraits and I sometimes have issues controlling the high lights so I feel this is a great solution, thanks.

    • @AnthonyToglife
      @AnthonyToglife  Рік тому

      Definitely worth a try @YogaLifeEtc! It will smooth the highlight transitions, but it won’t rid the hotspots. It’ll just smooth them a bit, which could be exactly what you’re looking for.

    • @YogaLifeEtc
      @YogaLifeEtc Рік тому

      @@AnthonyToglife I am currently using a K&F CPL filter to control the hotspots for my portraits which works well but I am wondering if a black mist 1/4 might give better results or could even both together?

    • @AnthonyToglife
      @AnthonyToglife  Рік тому

      @@YogaLifeEtc well, a CPL reduces reflections, a black mist softens the intensity of highlights, so together they could work really well. I would put the CPL on the outside of the stack.

    • @AnthonyToglife

      I can, yes. I've actually been playing around with different lighting as of late just to gain some experience in more cinematic/film lighting, so I definitely can do a video on this particular setup.

    Too much talking man, not enough examples. You could just talk over a video while showing some work and real life examples otherwise it's useless just filming yourself waffling.
