The part when she tried to hide her lifeless physical body from him really got me, as if she was embarrassed to be seen like that. What a sweet, tender story.
Worse than being seen in her underwear, she isn't even wearing her SKIN!

I think the part that makes me wanna cry is that this guy just really brought closure not only to the girl but to the families too. Imagine not knowing what happened to your family then one day hearing that some guy on a different planet is just going around identifying and sending back bodies. Dudes a hero

Even though there was little dialogue, the facial expressions and music alone was enough to convey the story of the short. Phenomenal job Orange. :)

They need to get over the choppy frame style they keep using, it makes the cg look incredibly low budget and cheap despite everything else looking very good
Could have been amazing with Trigun Stampede, but instead of creating a faithful manga adaptation, they ruined it.
I still don't like it, I liked the story but I don't like the CG aesthetics. Sorry.

It's heartwarming to see the astronaut go back for the girl and her remains. At first, he was afraid and terrified of the unknown, but he put his fears aside to help the poor crying girl who had lost everything, even her life. She had remained alone for so long, but instead of just running away, he came back to help her. This show of humanity is something we should all strive to do, even in the face of danger. Regardless of how terrifying something is, there is always another side to the story, which is well presented in this animation.
The other boxes imply he gathered the rest of the crew right?

I love how you gave the ghost girl's sad story such a happy ending with the help of that sweet astronaut. I'm just so glad she finally gets to rest in peace 🥹

The fact she was so determined to leave she made her remains move, literally MOVE. Respect to him for rescuing this poor girl from that place.
I would love a part 2 to this,maybe something like how the girl gets to earth and her final resting place is next to a beach or near a city and the astronaut brings flowers,I don't know...but I do know this animation was a masterpiece and a emotional rollercoaster,great work
Hey now. If this is an anime then then we all know it's meant to end up with her being his ghost waifu or something like that.
I don't want to kill you emotional, but the Astronaut is dead. He asked the ship to calculate the Bodyweight. And the Ship Ai tells him that ship is to heavy with all the dead people. The Astronaut knows that he has to stay on the Planet

From what I recall the ship told him that it was doable weight-wise but he'd just need to be careful because he was reducing his resources for the remainder of his mission. And he said he'd be sure to take it easy such that it wouldn't become a huge problem.

@@ricardokistler3310 Well yes that was never in question. But my assumption was this was a rocket intended for sending back samples. There's something in the other cases presumably.
Surely this guy isn't stupid enough to sacrifice himself pointlessly like that. He could just leave some of those boxes behind. Only needs to lose the equivalent weight of a small human skeleton. No need to not go himself. He probably weighs several times more than what's left of her body.
I suppose it IS possible that this is his only way back and his time remaining being shortened literally means he'll be dead soon...
But then he's an idiot. Wow.
He wouldn't even need to ask the computer if it was possible to reach escape velocity carrying her body instead of him, considering she weighs considerably less.
Makes more sense if he was sending her along with a planned cargo shipment.
This show deserves more recognition and should be shared to those who still doubt about the quality of 3DCGI anime

Kind of average for 3D anime, I don't like the mix of animation either. Some parts feel smooth while others are awkwardly choppy. Especially when he's speaking. I don't know if that's intentional but either way it's not something that will age well.

Man this needs an anime . Where we find out the ghost girl was ether his sister’s daughter or his daughter’s that died fare from home and now lives with him and there both happy because that made me want to cry .
Extremely weird how short the animation is, yet how emotinal it was! Simply amazing!
This is normal for short films. They must cover everything in a few minutes that a long film usually takes two hours to cover. A well-known example of such an anime is Daicon III and IV.
Shelter is another great short music video story.. It's the 1st short story animation I ever watched that brought a tear or two, definitely worth the watch if you haven't seen it!

This is a great short story. I love the animation style. I saw a short on this that brought a few tears and needed to see the full story.
I think we all can agree that the moment she laughing and slowly start crying is the moment when our heart was like :

This was nice. That poor kid though. It seems that because she died in that crystal place her soul was grounded and is now a ghost. At least she can interact with objects so she can still do helpful things. She also gets to expiriance an amazing space view.
When she tried to follow him but her dead body kept her trapped, that was when I started tearing up

I heard a rumor that Orange might be handling a Trigun adaptation. At first I was dismayed at the thought of cgi. This short animation has earned my trust in studio Orange, no matter what their next project is. がんばれ✊‼️
1st ep out, it slaps so hard honestly. I've only seen the original trigun adaptation in AMVs so its the first time with the IP haha
The 3d clearly isn't a crutch, just a different way of doing things.
Its not 'perfect'. But I think that may seem so because we're used to imperfect 2d already, making 3d's imperfections stick out a lot in comparison

I love how Orange Studio manages to make CG look as fluid and expressive as 2D that I almost forget.

Despite me being grown men her desperate, hopeless crying got my eyes a little bit wet. Maybe because I'm not scared of dying somewhere far away alone but if I did I would want to have mine remains brought back and buried somewhere close to my heart or at least be buried in my own country soil. So that I could tell myself "Its time to go home and rest".
Thinking about how much pain that girl must have been in before she died makes me feel fulfilled 😊
An emotional story that can hit all it's points in such a short time, that is a feat of it's own. Loved this story 🌌🚀
