Awesome Franco! You are actually reading and addressing comments right away - very rare and super great!!!
NO need to apologize! You are doing a fantastic job tackling cnc area and you picked the mainstream of what most wood/cnc enthusiasts do. I do lutherie and that’s what got me into this. Can’t wait to see these Servos in action. That is going to hurt though since I don’t think I can justify $257/pc for these puppies.
If you want to get crazy with these videos you may consider posting links in the description for all parts, pieces etc so people know what it is, where to get them and what’s the cost..
Seems you are strong in Electronics, most of people are not, so some basic info on, what, how, what it does may be value added? For example on the video about the Acorn board, Relay board, Stepper drivers, Servos etc. I am a BSCME and even so I could use some extra info, regular guys I bet would love it.
Thank you very much, keep up the great work.

don't worry about apologies, people don't apreciate how much work it is to do a project, plus try and make videos of it at the same time

I’ve really enjoyed the videos man. I’ve been kicking the tires on Shapeoku and open builds workbee. I had no clue about these Chinese versions on EBAY. Seems like it’s possible to build a 4’x4’ cmc router for under $2K. I’m gonna go for it. Thank you so much for the inspiration!!!

Shspeoko is junk...cnc machines should not be belt drive like junky 3d printers

That's a cool machine. It will probably never be really be finished. You're a smart guy (not to be confused with a wise guy :), and you'll continually be thinking of ways to improve on the design. Trial and error R & D. It'll be interesting to see how your modifications improve on the basic design. Good videos

Workbee actually sell a dust shoe specifically for this cnc. Not cheap but saves a hell of a lot of head scratching work.

I wouldn't waste Cleapaths on an extrusion/leadscrew/wheel-way router. They are faster though...Have you looked at those 180w closed loop china servos? JMC IHSV57

Good job looks great! Does it come with different spindle mount sizes or just the one. Thanks

I believe there are at least two different size mounts you can buy.

I would of left that 1/2" mdf board screwed down. or used double sided tape instead of glue. When you want to change the spoil board in a year, then you will have to replace the bottom 3/4 MDF as well ( or maybe just flip if over). Anyways re aligning it is a pain. Better to just swap out the 1/2 mdf quicker and cheaper.

    Nice machine.
However you dont have to pull apart the X axis to install the limit switch. It can be install Vertical on the Z axis.
You can see it on the openbuild. Website
    But great work.

if use ClearPath integrated Servo it's smoother and quieter a way faster,,,,, Can damage the lead screw teeth quickly the lead screw you have 8mm diameter only, that's my opinion.

Several users of similar tables enclose the unit completely to keep the chips, etc confined. 1/4" plywood would suffice. That will be the way I'll be going

Can this machine handle 7075 t6 aluminium? How does it compare to Shapeoko 3?

    • @FrancoCNC
      @FrancoCNC  4 роки тому

As long as you don't try to drive an endmill that's excessively large, it will cut aluminum just fine. I never had a Shapeoko but from the looks of things, I'd say they are very similar in construction.

Workbee is superior to shapeoko.bulkman workbee 1515 .is 3x larger and uses screw drive.and is $500 less price..and includes a nice 1500w vfd spindle which is superior to a trim router..shapeoko and brother xcarve are now considered junk..

@@shelby50411 The Workbee now has an improved design that puts the lead screws under tension to reduce "whip" when moving at high rapid rates.

It is good. I actually sold the router to a friend who does a lot of woodworking. He uses it quite often and speaks highly of it. I also work with two other people who built Workbee kits and they are both happy with the machines.
