I also have 2. I plan on breeding them as well as future additions in the coming years so for now I'm working with a rack system. We have four hoggies currently. Two 2021 babies from shows and two from Craigslist that are a bit older. I thought you did a good job explaining a basic setup for a hognose. Personally I have found that ours do better with a heat lamp or heat emitter as well as under tank heating. Our male especially seemed to begin eating better for me once he had higher ambient temps from the heat lamp.
I have an axthanic male hognose, almost 1.5 years old now. I have him in a 20 gallon tank and he does well… not sure he got the memo they aren’t climbers though. I added a plant with vines to the back of the tank more for decoration and he is constantly in the top of it or sitting on top of his cave like he’s freaking Simba looking out on his kingdom.
It’s crazy how small males get, gigantic males are 2 feet in length while most remain 12-18-inches. They, in all likelihood, only need a 10 gallon enclosure to be able to fully stretch out in their enclosure. A 20 gallon is easily twice as long as they are or longer.
@@hereticFox716 That’s a giant enclosure. Usually, the tank should ideally be the full length of the snake. Bigger is always better, but giving a corn snake an 8-12 food enclosure seems a little too much to ask.
I would love to see you do two-part videos for each of the animals - one for setting up a budget friendly enclosure like this which breaks down all of the basic needs of the enclosure, and then a second part for upgrading to a bioactive setup

This is exactly the video I needed! Been slowly getting an enclosure set up for a hoggie as our first snake (due to space limits, had to get a small snake and GOD THEY’RE SO CUTE).
Really loving the enclosure set up videos, they're my fave! I could binge watch these things all day and plus, i love that you do them on a budget so that practically anyone can get involved! :) I'd also love to see the corn snake setup video as i personally keep 2 of em and as they are a popular snake, i think the video would do well and be really useful to new keepers.
We just got our first hognose this weekend at a reptile expo near us. We have all pythons and boas besides that, so I was thrilled to discover you had this video to help with her set up. Shes only 2 months at the moment so she is in something small right now but i like to get adult enclosures for my reptiles as soon as possible.
Thanks so much Adam! I'm on VA disability and I've been trying to figure out how to get a budget enclosure idea! This was perfect timing. Excellent video. Thanks again for this.💚🐍
Never raw dog your heat 💀💀💀 I don't plan on getting a hognose, but I'll be suggesting this video to anyone I know who thinks they might want one. Very thorough, easy to understand, well produced (duh, it's a WWR video), and enjoyable to watch and listen to. I use your UA-cam almost like a podcast sometimes cuz I like the way you breakdown info, so the video holds even without the visuals. Good stuff dude.
Thanks for including info for babies as well as adults! Breeders could do better with this… I was not informed on how to house my crested gecko and plus, she seems to have some trouble with finding her food and water (plus she’s been permanently stunted at juvenile size) so she’s in a 20 gallon where nothing ever gets moved too far. Doesn’t matter how informative a breeder is with caring for hatchlings, babies grow. Continue assisting the reptile community, you’re awesome ^^
I get my first Hognose snake next week and I've had several bearded dragons in my time. So it feels like I'm brushing up on my reptile habitat knowledge here. You really helped me get my snakes enclosure ready!
I'm a big believer in giving your snake a way to move from each end of the tank in a completely covered highway. In with you completely on that. Anything that reduces stress on your critters is never a bad idea.
My cousin made a little tunnel like a covered bridge for people lol. Her garters love to go under the little tunnel from one end to the other, so much so that she basically always knows where they’re hiding when she needs to check up on them.
@@JellybeansatduskThat’s so cool!!! Pvc pipes would work as well, wouldnt they? I contemplated on getting garter snakes but now i plan to get a hognose. I’m going to get a male at an upcoming reptile expo, I’m very excited! (Sorry for ranting)
These videos & your care guides videos are probably my favorites so far. I have learned SOOOO MUCH from you in the very short 4-5 weeks since I found your channel. During their awesome Black Friday Sale this past November, I purchased 2 female leopard geckos from Brian over at BHB. My family has almost always owned a wide variety of pets including multiple Ball Pythons, a Columbian Boa, a Pacman Frog, Rose Hair Tarantula etc. But these are my very first geckos ever, infact they are my first lizards ever. They arrived & as soon as I opened their containers & saw those little smiles...I was obsessed!!! There are almost too many different care guides, articles etc online with different information which made it a frustrating process when researching everything I needed to know & get for the geckos before the arrived. Of course I immediately pulled up all of Brian's videos about them & the care sheet on his website. But I like multiple opinions & while digging into it, I found out about your channel & after watching 1 of your videos about them, I was extremely impressed & am now going back through your videos & watching them all, whether it's an animal I will ever get or not, I still love the information & the way you present it. I fell in love with an almost all bright reddish orange Fancy Bearded Dragon baby at my local store yesterday. They have 30 of them, all are in quarantine till the owners are confident that they are healthy, good eaters, no mites etc. Which is good cause I would have left with 1 yesterday if they were for sale now lol. So, after this I will be pulling up all of your videos about beardies in preparation for the almost inevitable purchase I will be making in the next week or 2 lol thanks Adam!!!
Your care guides are always straight-forward, easy to understand, and very informative! I also love how you always mention cheap alternatives rather than only reptile branded things for substrate, water bowls, and clutter. :D I got my first snakes late 2021, and both are male hognoses (a normal and a superconda). I’ve got them in exoterra enclosures with lots of fake foliage, multiple hides of various sizes, and I even added branches and vines for them to climb (they both seem to enjoy climbing). I do provide UVB for both, too. :D
Adam, I love this. I actually caught a hognose snake last summer. It was hung in the bird netting I had over my tomatoes. I couldn't see it's head at first and it had a lot of sand and dirt over it, so I didn't know what it was. But when it pulled its head from under the tub, I knew, that little upturned nose.....a dead giveaway. I wanted so bad to keep it. I didn't of course, but the thought did cross my mind. I did a photo opp with it and then set it free.
This is so timely! I'm hoping to get a hognose at the March Tinley show. I already got a tank...I went with an 36x18x18. I just need to set it up. Can't wait!!! Oh and it will be my first snake 💚🐍
If it's going to be a baby hognose...you should probably start it in something smaller until it eats regularly. That size should be good for an adult. You can get a shoebox size tub at Walmart for like $5 and just use a heat mat with a thermostat. Set it a few degrees higher than what you want if using substrate and make sure there is plenty of holes for ventilation to keep humidity between 30%-50%.
I love watching these! Even though I'm not allowed to have reptiles, I have used some of your tips in the past for other animals. And these are just so enjoyable and encouraging to watch. You can set up an animal on a budget, and you have some really great ideas.
Just letting you know: heat mats are not a good heat source. A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option, Arcadia’s deep heat projector is the second best option. They produce infrared A and B like the sun, heat that penetrates deep into the skin tissue and heats them far more effectively than heat mats. Whereas heat mats only produce IRC, which only heats the surface of their skin.
This is literally my setup aside from I use a tub and rack system. You pull out a tub, it looks just like the inside of that enclosure. Loved this whole thing! And yes please do this more...I'm always trying to see how people keep the animals I keep. I just got a male dumerils boa and a tegu last year so I've got suggestions for a couple future vids haha
Hey Adam, love your content! It was thanks to you, Clint, and Emily that I finally got my first reptile. She's a baby Mexican black kingsnake, and she's so fascinating to watch and handle. I'll be moving her up to a larger enclosure as she grows, so I'd love to see your take on a kingsnake enclosure video!
The timing on this could not be any more perfect - Im just starting to get the equipment for my new hognose Im hoping to get mid-march! Thank you for the great video!!
my hoggy loves a base of coconut dirt with a huge pile of aspen on it. He also loves water for some reason, so I have upgraded him to a longer water bowl he can soak himself in. It's near the heat lamp so it stays nice and warm. he's a goofy little boy for sure and so much fun. I highly recommend hognosies. they make great little companions. except.........sometimes Hobi goes into the dirt and I won't see him for a week until he smells dinner (thawed pinky)
After watching your video on things that actually work for reptiles, I bought the Govee hydrometer and thermometer and I absolutely loovvveee it. I love that I don’t have to be in the room to see what the humidity and temp is. Thanks for the suggestion!!
I tried soft paper bedding for my hognose(normally used for rabbits n guinea pigs) and he loves it. It's lightweight, so won't bury him if a tunnel collapses, but holds tunnels amazingly well(I was a little surprised), easy for him to curl up in n make a "nest".
I‘d like to see corn snakes for the second enclosure. They are considered beginner’s snakes, so I think it would be interesting for people who didn’t decide on their first snake yet. I don’t own one - and I probably go with a ball python. I just love them so much. I always was kinda afraid of snakes until I hold a ball python in my teenage years. I immediately fell in love and knew I want to have one myself one day. But it would be great for people who don’t know yet!
This is such a good video! I want to get a hoggie soon, and this is very helpful! I love your channel, and hognoses are adorable 🥰 And I already have a corn snake so this will be a good second snake! 🐍
I got a hognose male and he is living his best life in playsand and in an 100cmx60cmx50cm tank with UVB light and one just for the heat. I had a sand clay mixture before I found it too tight in some places. So I really use just playsand for my future set ups - and he is digging like crazy and looks so happy with it :)
Loved this! A hognose is on my eventual list, although I'm more into inverts at the moment. Love your collabs with Richard from the Tarantula Collective! I'd be interested to see what you observe with your UVB experiment. Maybe a corn snake setup soon?
This video came out at the perfect time! I am planning on getting a hognose in the near future, February or march maybe. Very excited as it will be my first snake!
Thank you for this. My kids and I really want one, so we are doing lots of research on husbandry. This was very helpful and who doesn't love budget friendly options?
No way! I seen your second video like ever? On hognose care and I commented asking for a new vid two about two weeks ago! Sick dude thanks. I appreciate you doing this only because I asked you if you need any more ideas I'll be in the comment section 😂
This video was awesome. I found it because I am thinking of getting a Western Hognose and this is really helping me plan out my set up and pricing stuff out and just generally knowing what I am getting into. So thanks!
Been a minute since we've seen your hognoses. 😊 Great video as always. Would love to see a milksnake set up. Haven't seen her on the channel in a while either.
Awesome vid! Having two snakes next to each other in this kind of setup is a great idea. Was wondering about using a probe beneath the substrate. I have mine set up the same way for my corn snake. Using crushed wood bark as bedding, and it's a bit concerning to me that actual temperature on the surface is a bit lower than what I see on the thermometer. But on the other hand I notice my snake is kinda digging a bit and moving some substrate around, and there's no risk of it overheating due to getting closer to the heat mat.
I had the same concern. The temperature at the top of the substrate isn’t nearly as warm as it’s warm temps should be with a heat mat, so I got these rock hides that open from the top and are fully closed at the bottom. They’re called the zilla rock lair if you’re interested, the medium would definitely fit your corn :)
Great video, planning on getting my son a hognose at our next reptile expo in Montreal so he was excited to watch the video with me! So again really good video and keep up the great work!!
@WickensWickedReptiles yes sir, there's more than 1! I know we have a big one downtown at some point but on March 9th and 10th there is one in pointe claire that I've been to in the past. It's great, lots of great people who love the hobby/industry and even more so it's pretty educational for the kids who just love reptiles and want to get into the hobby!

With 3 dogs , fish , frogs , and Jake I use similar substrate to cut corners on pet expenses. I do buy different moss on occasion for the frogs.
Great video! My male hognose is in a 3ft vivarium and he uses every inch of it! He's always got lots of hides/cover so he's always out exploring. Will you be making a video about UVB/no UVB? My hognose actively basks under his so id be interested to know what yours do 😊

This is perfect! I have my enclosure. Now that I have watched this I have all the knowledge I need to set it up. How do I even start looking for a baby boy pet only hoggy that comes from a reputable place?
A good reference for people looking for digital hygrometers and thermometers: humidors (large, climate controlled cigar containers). Cigars apparently need specific humidity and temperature requirements for ideal storage, so you can find a lot of digital readers for WAY less than reptile-branded ones.
sure but how accurate are they? I have a few cigar humidors, I use Govee thermostats for them because the analog ones they come with are not only the same price but are very inaccurate.
I love all of your set up videos! Could you make like a super duper basic reptile care video? Like Reptiles For Dummies or something like that? I'm new to reptiles and some things I get, but others I just can't seem to wrap my head around. Like I understand temperature and how to raise it or lower it, but humidity is such a foreign concept to me. I've only really had mammals, so I've never had to put much thought into humidity. I now know a hygrometer measures humidity and to use a quality one (I actually just ordered a couple of govee thermometer/hygrometers!) but my brain just doesn't really get how to raise and lower humidity in an enclosure. And the difference between belly heat, heat lamps (are those a thing with reptiles?), etc. I'd love a video explaining the basics! And also how to apply it to many different species too!
Things that help with raising humidity: use a humidity retaining substrate, such as a coconut substrate, soil, moss, and/or cypress mulch. Make the substrate a few inches deep. Pour water into it and mix it in (make sure the surface isn’t too wet). If you have a mesh lid, cover most of it with foil tape. Plastic bins and PVC enclosures retain humidity well. To reduce/lower humidity: overhead heating will help, as well as a mesh lid. Use a substrate that doesn’t retain humidity as well. Mixing in some sand can help with this. Of course, which substrate is most suitable will depend on the species you’re keeping. Regarding your last question: heat lamps are the most natural and beneficial heat source for pretty much all reptiles. The need for “belly heat” is a myth; they just need heat in general. Besides, lamps will provide belly heat since they heat up the surface underneath them, especially something like slate. The type of heat produced by the heat source also matters. Halogen/incandescent bulbs produce infrared A and B like the sun, heat that penetrates deep into the skin tissue and heats them far more effectively than heat mats. Whereas heat mats only produce IRC, which only heats the surface of their skin.
Great video! I like that you’ve done videos for setups for different animals. I’d like to get a Western Hognose one day and have been researching their care. But videos like this are perfect!
I loved the video and I’ve been considering getting a hog nose soon. My only critique is it would be amazing if you explained alittle more on setting up the probe of the thermostat for the tank. I always seem to struggle with that part in particular for whatever reason. Overall tho I loved the video and would love to see a set up guide for corn snakes sometime soon!
With a lamp (which is the ideal heat source), the thermostat probe should be in the basking spot, 1-2” away from the lamp beam. Don’t use tape to secure it. Reptifiles has a good corn care guide. I also have one and can answer any questions about them :)
I have been watching your videos and some of the other reptile videos and I have come to love these little hognose snakes and hope that one day I can get one so thank you for your videos I am learning a lot.
This information is very helpful. If you plan on making more, maybe a corn snake? I've been researching those for the past few days. Also your channel teaches me a lot about a whole bunch of reptiles I'd never heard of.
I appreciate we both use the same cheap thermostat found on amazon. All my enclosures use the ipower thermostat and it works great. No need to spend the money on a reptile-branded thermostat.
I agree, the ceramic water bowls are nice. I don't know the brand that I use but they're the grayish beige kind that are blue in the middle. They kind of look like a little pond :-) and they come in a wide array of sizes. They are not the cheapest however but they look good.
Can you do a video on corn snake setup but more specifically substrate creation. Love your videos and I trust your opinion. Or what would you say is the best substrate to use in dryer places like where I live (Colorado)?
thank you!! im getting a hognose hatchling from a nearby breeder soon and i have been researching, but alot of different websites have different info. :]
This video was very cool and it was very helpful for me to visualize how to set up an enclosure. I don’t know about everyone else but I would love to see more enclosure set up videos for different species.

The new echo narration is interesting. I love hognose snakes, I don't own one, I don't own any snakes due to my wife having a weird phobia. I'd still love to have a hognose.
You did great! The 66.6 made me lose it! 🤣 I adore hog noses, they are so cute. I think regulating the heat mat is so asked about by people because we are very paranoid about killing our snakes lol. I had to rewatch that part of the video a couple times to make sure I got it.
Heat mats are not a good heat source, overhead heating is much better for them. A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option. Hogs and Childrens pythons are very different. If I had to compare them to other snakes, Hognose remind me more of gartersnakes in their feeding preferences, metabolism and more diurnal behavior (even though they do not look at all like a gartersnake..) Childrens pythons remind me more of kingsnakes with their crazy food response and propensity for liking really low, tight hides. Hognose can tolerate cold Winters and hot Summers. If you want a snake that you can brumate in Winter, hognose are perfect. If you want a snake where a male can live in a 10 gal tank (though 20 is better), hognose are perfect. If you want a snake that can eat Reptilink reptile sausages and mice, hognose are perfect.

Really loving the enclosure set up videos, they're my fave! I could binge watch these things all day and plus, i love that you do them on a budget so that practically anyone can get involved! :)
I'd also love to see the corn snake setup video as i personally keep 2 of em and as they are a popular snake, i think the video would do well and be really useful to new keepers.
Awesome! Thank you! More to come!
We just got our first hognose this weekend at a reptile expo near us. We have all pythons and boas besides that, so I was thrilled to discover you had this video to help with her set up. Shes only 2 months at the moment so she is in something small right now but i like to get adult enclosures for my reptiles as soon as possible.
wicked
Thanks so much Adam! I'm on VA disability and I've been trying to figure out how to get a budget enclosure idea! This was perfect timing.
Excellent video. Thanks again for this.💚🐍
glad it helped :)
Good stuff dude.
ehhh thank you!
Thanks for including info for babies as well as adults! Breeders could do better with this…
I was not informed on how to house my crested gecko and plus, she seems to have some trouble with finding her food and water (plus she’s been permanently stunted at juvenile size) so she’s in a 20 gallon where nothing ever gets moved too far.
Doesn’t matter how informative a breeder is with caring for hatchlings, babies grow. Continue assisting the reptile community, you’re awesome ^^
thanks for watching!
Anything that reduces stress on your critters is never a bad idea.
bingo!
So, after this I will be pulling up all of your videos about beardies in preparation for the almost inevitable purchase I will be making in the next week or 2 lol thanks Adam!!!
hey thanks so much for watching!
Your care guides are always straight-forward, easy to understand, and very informative! I also love how you always mention cheap alternatives rather than only reptile branded things for substrate, water bowls, and clutter. :D
I got my first snakes late 2021, and both are male hognoses (a normal and a superconda). I’ve got them in exoterra enclosures with lots of fake foliage, multiple hides of various sizes, and I even added branches and vines for them to climb (they both seem to enjoy climbing). I do provide UVB for both, too. :D
I always try to make these things seem as simple as they actually are
Adam, I love this.
Oh and it will be my first snake 💚🐍
so great to hear!
Super first snake, you won’t be disappointed!
@@Upper_echelon_exotics good idea!
Cool what kind of hognose
I love watching these! Even though I'm not allowed to have reptiles, I have used some of your tips in the past for other animals. And these are just so enjoyable and encouraging to watch. You can set up an animal on a budget, and you have some really great ideas.
just bought the thermostat for my heat mat! thanks adam! your videos are some of my favourite reptile videos on youtube
I love this!! It just helps with ideas in all different kinds of set ups. Let's all be better and learn together!
Yes! Thank you!
I love these set-up videos! The bioactive are goals, but sometimes you want/need something less intimidating. Thank you!
eh thanks for watching
Hey Adam, love your content! It was thanks to you, Clint, and Emily that I finally got my first reptile. She's a baby Mexican black kingsnake, and she's so fascinating to watch and handle. I'll be moving her up to a larger enclosure as she grows, so I'd love to see your take on a kingsnake enclosure video!
The timing on this could not be any more perfect - Im just starting to get the equipment for my new hognose Im hoping to get mid-march! Thank you for the great video!!
Nice video, great explanation on why snakes won't be stressed if you provide cover fir them to feel secure. 👍
Thanks Rick!
You nailed it! I love your channel and thanks to you my appreciation and fascination with reptiles is growing!
I appreciate that!
my hoggy loves a base of coconut dirt with a huge pile of aspen on it.
But it would be great for people who don’t know yet!
good call
This is such a good video! I want to get a hoggie soon, and this is very helpful! I love your channel, and hognoses are adorable 🥰
And I already have a corn snake so this will be a good second snake! 🐍
Thank you so much!
Nice copperhead
I got a hognose male and he is living his best life in playsand and in an 100cmx60cmx50cm tank with UVB light and one just for the heat. I had a sand clay mixture before I found it too tight in some places. So I really use just playsand for my future set ups - and he is digging like crazy and looks so happy with it :)
Loved this! A hognose is on my eventual list, although I'm more into inverts at the moment. Love your collabs with Richard from the Tarantula Collective! I'd be interested to see what you observe with your UVB experiment. Maybe a corn snake setup soon?
he traded his corn snake away because he didnt enjoy it, so I doubt he's going to do anything for corns. it's a shame, red ratsnakes are sweethearts.
This video came out at the perfect time! I am planning on getting a hognose in the near future, February or march maybe. Very excited as it will be my first snake!
OMG THATS SO EXITINGG WISHING U SL LUCKK
@@vis222 thank you soooooo much
Thank you for this. My kids and I really want one, so we are doing lots of research on husbandry. This was very helpful and who doesn't love budget friendly options?
No way! I seen your second video like ever? On hognose care and I commented asking for a new vid two about two weeks ago! Sick dude thanks. I appreciate you doing this only because I asked you if you need any more ideas I'll be in the comment section 😂
enjoy!
So excited for this video! I have 12 hoggies currently that range in morph from albino, mocha, axanthic, lavender, conda.
amazing collection!
This video was awesome. I found it because I am thinking of getting a Western Hognose and this is really helping me plan out my set up and pricing stuff out and just generally knowing what I am getting into. So thanks!
Got a hog and i love watching vids to make his life better ❤️
that is amazing!
I have a 40 gallon terrarium needing an inhabit and I've been wanting a hoggie for YEARS. Your video just sold me 💗
i just had two people on reddit try to tell me aspen was a bad substrate. i’ll always go back to wickens to make sure i’m doing the right thing.
Been a minute since we've seen your hognoses. 😊
Great video as always.
Would love to see a milksnake set up. Haven't seen her on the channel in a while either.
Thanks for the idea!
But on the other hand I notice my snake is kinda digging a bit and moving some substrate around, and there's no risk of it overheating due to getting closer to the heat mat.
hognose snakes burrow so they will be beneath the substrate anyway
I had the same concern. The temperature at the top of the substrate isn’t nearly as warm as it’s warm temps should be with a heat mat, so I got these rock hides that open from the top and are fully closed at the bottom. They’re called the zilla rock lair if you’re interested, the medium would definitely fit your corn :)
Great video, planning on getting my son a hognose at our next reptile expo in Montreal so he was excited to watch the video with me! So again really good video and keep up the great work!!
there are expos in MTL?
@WickensWickedReptiles yes sir, there's more than 1! I know we have a big one downtown at some point but on March 9th and 10th there is one in pointe claire that I've been to in the past. It's great, lots of great people who love the hobby/industry and even more so it's pretty educational for the kids who just love reptiles and want to get into the hobby!
I'd love to see your take on a bioactive enclosure for hognose snakes!
Jake is my Male green phase , 2 years old. I mixed up reptile sand , Aspen , and Spanish moss. He digs a lot , and only comes out if the house is quiet. I have 1 hide , he rarely uses it. With 3 dogs , fish , frogs , and Jake I use similar substrate to cut corners on pet expenses. I do buy different moss on occasion for the frogs.
They need two hides minimum, one warm one cool.
Great video!
My male hognose is in a 3ft vivarium and he uses every inch of it! He's always got lots of hides/cover so he's always out exploring.
Will you be making a video about UVB/no UVB? My hognose actively basks under his so id be interested to know what yours do 😊
that's wicked!
i'm getting my first place all to myself soon and want a pet to make me feel less alone and to care for. hognose snakes are really cute, thanks for the informative video.
I have my Ballphython in a Wood enclosure to which inside I etached a pool cover plane(so it doesn't get moldy). And it's working great she explores the eclusure so much, somtimes she just lies around the eclusure and is taking a short break till she gets on her way again. And like I said she LOVES it
That trailer park boys clip made me feel both at home and called out.
Thanks again for the confusing feels and good info♡
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just got a female. Arctic conda triple het. She is in a 10 gallon glass tank. I would love the pvc, but I’m still on a budget. Great video.
I’m new to reptile pets, and I really want a hog nose snake! Their so cute. This was very helpful, thank you! I will subscribe. :)
Just got my baby hognose and set up its quarantine tank, perfect timing :D
That is awesome!
Just picked up my first breeding pair at repticon Sunday. They are normals possible tripple het for albino/sable/axanthic. I have a 3rd toffeebelly het axanthic being shipped when it warms up, and I'm super excited
that is awesome!!
@@WickensWickedReptiles I think so too lol! I loved this video by the way, and the way you present information is great! If you have any advice for new breeders I'd love to hear it, here or in a future video would be cool 😊
@@destineylain I’ve made videos about breeding hoggies! Enjoy 😊
6th. Could you please do a video like this for garter snakes and Argentine black and white tegus
nailed it
This is perfect!
I get so exited every Time he releases a new video I put my bearded dragon on my shoulder and binge watch them LOL😂❤️
ehhhh!
Reptifiles has a good corn snake care guide, and I’m happy to answer any specific questions :)
@@nightinggale6470 oh ok tysm
I appreciate we both use the same cheap thermostat found on amazon. All my enclosures use the ipower thermostat and it works great. No need to spend the money on a reptile-branded thermostat.
Except that halogen flood bulbs are the most natural and beneficial heat source, and they need a dimmer or dimming thermostat.
Great job 👏🏻 should definitely help any new hognose owners 🙋♂️✌️
I hope so!
I agree, the ceramic water bowls are nice. I don't know the brand that I use but they're the grayish beige kind that are blue in the middle. They kind of look like a little pond :-) and they come in a wide array of sizes. They are not the cheapest however but they look good.
Thanks for the tips!
3:22 I'd like it if you did a milkshake, as they are a snake I want to get but don't really know how set it up.
my milk snake brings all the milksnakes to the yard
@@WickensWickedReptiles did you mean to say "milkshake"
I will never raw dog my heat ever again. Thank you.
Great video. I even got some ideas for my existing hognose enclosure

Great video!
Thanks for the visit!
After building a bioactive enclosure for my crested gecko I have been thinking about getting a hognose next! Definitely a great video! Haha
You should do a rosy boa for the other side of the enclosure.
I don't own one though :(
Can you do a video on corn snake setup but more specifically substrate creation. Love your videos and I trust your opinion. Or what would you say is the best substrate to use in dryer places like where I live (Colorado)?
Sure can
thank you!! im getting a hognose hatchling from a nearby breeder soon and i have been researching, but alot of different websites have different info. :]
Thank you so much I've watched all your videos for hognose snakes everything is very helpful!
This video was very cool and it was very helpful for me to visualize how to set up an enclosure. I don’t know about everyone else but I would love to see more enclosure set up videos for different species.
Glad it was helpful!
This video is exactly what I needed, thanks so much
Glad it was helpful!
I want to get a western hognose snake so I enjoy your videos, there very helpful thank you
I use the same setup for my garter snakes, and corn snakes. Aspen and dollar store plants.
i have an adult male albino het axanthic from fire n ice and a 1yr old female snow from geckos etc.
the adult male is in a 40 gallon and my snow is in a quarantine tub because shes newer and very smol 🥹 but she will also be in a 40 as she grows. love thems so much
The new echo narration is interesting. I love hognose snakes, I don't own one, I don't own any snakes due to my wife having a weird phobia. I'd still love to have a hognose.
Can you please do one of these setup guide for larger snakes like boas? Or maybe one for amphibians/semi aquatics like frogs and turtles.
for sure! Bioactive dart frog build being edited right now~!
Yes!!!! Just what I needed! You think you could do Kingsnake/milksnake
Sure thing!
@@nightinggale6470 Very interesting! Thank for the information. :)
hahaha thanks for watching!!
Thank you Adam for the information. I don't have any snakes yet but the hognose I am looking to be my first.
You’re the most undersubscribed reptile guy on here
Cool vid. I have kings but looking for something different . Either one of these or a childrens python that you really got me interested in.
Awesome! Thank you!
I'd love to see a cornsnake enclosure that includes both climbing and burrowing opportunities!
Anything that can keep your snake from being stressed, is a tangent that should be had 👍🏼
I absolutely love this video! Great job!
thanks!
I put my snake where my desks use to be and my desk was pretty enclosed so he’s always been a happy camper
Out of curiosity would you ever do a video about the Mediterranean House Gecko? My wife and I have one and are having a hard time finding much on them .
maybe one day!
Corn snake!! Recently got one and am looking to improve their setup.
amazing!
Reptifiles has a good care guide. Feel free to ask me any specific questions about them :)
Adam, Just so you know you will never saw anything more awesome in your youtube life then raw dogging your heat tape.
hahahahha!
Can you do a bioactive video on burrowing tropical snakes? Im wanting to do a bio active for my rainbow boa but she burrows so much i am afraid shes gonna murder everything in there
Really enjoyed it. I found really helpful in regards to light and heat setup :)
