Oh my goodness Al you did a great job with Hope in this video! I’m so proud of you! Hope and the girls did so wonderful with each other! I think the whole thing is so sweet and I just love that Hope got to be outside so much today. I wonder if Blossom is taking on like a “motherly” roll with Hope, do goats do things like that?
Gina is so smart! Great idea to divert the water! Are the goats playing? Or is it a pecking order letting her know she is new kid on the block! No pun intended! Poor Hope. I hope they accept her and leave her alone. Do goats have to grow up together? This has been interesting to watch. Thanks for sharing each day blessings to you guys! 🕊🙏☺️♥️🌞🐐🐓
I have been following your everyday working with your animals and how you let your daughter help you. I love seeing your wife making pancakes and I just love your family. I watch Weed Em Reap where Hope came from, I just love watching baby animals. I pray that you get to feeling better soon. God bless you all.
The goats are getting along much better with Hope, not quite there, but so much better. Glad to see that. Hope just cracks me up when she gets in the feeder. She is so dang cute! All of them are! It's nice to see warm weather I know. I pray your back is back to normal soon. Thanks for another great video!
I hope your back is better soon! My spine & neck are fused and I live in constant pain so I know what you are going through. It is delightful to see all that ground! Enjoy the mud! Blessings to all.
I am so glad to see Hope and the girls getting along together better. Hope is a spunky little girl. She had to be because her start in life wasn't with a loving mom. Thank you for your loving care of her. Looking forward to Willow's arrival of new babies. I love goats especially babies. I love watching you, your family, and farm life. Thank you for sharing!
Hi from Scotland thanks for another amazing vidio wee hope s settling in nicely nice to see the snow shifting here in Scotland wher I live we don't have any snow now just waiting for it to heat up a bit all my veggie seeds just need some sunshine to get them moving and growing on look forward to your next vidio stay safe take care Anne Scott from Scotland
+Al it must have been the sweater on Hope that the other goats were unsure of! They all seem to be doing pretty good now! Prayers for your back to gain its strength once again, and full health to carry on with all that is needed to get done around the Homestead! Bless you all, keep up the fab work! Smiles -🥰 The BC 🇨🇦Girl
Hope is my favorite goat in the world. So glad you take such good care of her. She is a special one. She is getting big and looks well fed. That makes me so happy
Morning Lumnahs. Al, I've had a bad back since I was 15. About 6 to 7 yrs ago I had to move around in a wheelchair. Construction was the biggest culprit contributing to the condition. Your family needs you to be strong and maneuverable. The goats, chickens and pigs are depending upon your strength. Hey we need you up and about making these wonderful modernsteaders videos. I'm sure that many of us are praying for your strength, health and success. Love y'all Lumnahs. Blessings...☝💪...👉 Looking forward to watching your barn go up. Be strong brother and get some manual labor help👍
My problem is my body tells me to rest more than I want it to! I hate being old! lol. Push and push and push some more! lol! Great seeing Gina out! You guys are awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Sorry your back is bothering you Al, you will be in my prayers. I just love your goats, and little Hope is so precious!! You and your family have a blessed day!
I enjoy seeing Fiagaro keep an eye on everything going on at the homestead! She's probably keeping an eye on Hope to make sure everyone treats her nicely. 😉
Praying for your back, Al. I have back issues too and I know how it can limit working around the homestead. A back brace helps me when I’m out doing work. It’s fun to see Hope getting integrated into the herd. Thanks for another fun video.
Feel better soon Al! That little Hope reminds me so much of Tillie when she was little! She's even built like her mom :) Rest and the care of your back!
You bring a breath of fresh air. Pain is my shadow right now so I'm not to happy with my back and knees so I understand how you feel. You are so positive you make our lives that much more pleasant. Your good good people. Don't stop but take it easy. You take such good care of your little family....that says a lot.
Hope was my favorite since the babies were born I’m so glad your family looked past her issues she struggled with and seen her as a goat with potential and not a goat that would just bring the possibility of problems. I can tell she has stolen your hearts there at lumnah. I look forward to seeing her in all of your videos she’s just so darn adorable and lovable 🥰
Hope your back heals quickly!! Hope is adorable - all your animals are so lucky to live with such a wonderful family - thanks for your great videos!! 💕
Good morning! The girls all looked like “not me” when you asked about the feeder. Hope is holding her own for sure. I love watching goats play. You can’t be in a bad mood after spending time with goats 🐐 🥰🤗❤️
I love that you cook from scratch. We don’t know how in this house so thank you so much for sharing. We can’t wait to start this way of life. Love to you all. 😍🍁🙏❤️🐶🐔🐱
Get a simple, but good cookbook & start practicing! You’ll love cooking once you get a few recipes under your belt that you like better than eating pre-packaged stuff. Go to Amazon & look up “homesteading cookbook” - there are several. 😉👍❤️
@@tarantulady8565 , exactly. No one has ever become a good cook from day one. We've all made awful-tasting dinners but that's how you learn. You have to actually TRY. :)
Glad your finally melting some snow up there. Good to see the goats getting along. May need to look into some pallet forks for your tractor to help with those bales and what not, so you take care of your back. Don't want a lifetime of misery from a messed up disc or something. God bless and can't wait for the chicks. 😁
I love it when UA-cam channels help to support each other -- nice WEED EM & REAP T-shirt you were wearing at the dinner table! Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA
Back pain is really awful. I hope your back is better soon. By the time Hope is grown she will be queen of the herd. She has such a great personality. (And your video was great.)
Hey Lumnah Acres... I was just watching a Justin Rhodes vid and he mentioned that he watches your channel. He said he learned about grinding fresh coffee from you! That was so cool, cause I watch you both.
68 beautifully windy degrees here. Al, I love what you do, who you are, and... Just everything about you and your awesome family. Will you please add the music you use in your vlog to the description so that I can listen and add it to my playlist? I just love Derek gust. Thanks.
Your snow is melting fast. Before you know it you can build your barn and I am looking forward to watching that. Hope is doing very well with the bigger goats. Before long they will all get along like best buddies. Thank you for the wonderful video. I hope your back is better soon and you feel 100% again.
Back pain is so limiting so I hope the pain subsides sooner than later. Hope is so trying to hold her own and she will be even better once the pecking order has been finalised. Then when the new kid/kids arrive there will be more sorting out.
I expect Hope's back feels a little sore from being butted too. The bjg goats are so different than they used to be. I pray both of y'all get over your back pains.
Hope reminds me of the belted Galloway cattle. Almost any new critter in the pen has a period of adjustment before acceptance . For example , I purchased some chicks from TSC about two weeks ago . And then , since they were on sale , I purchased six more ISA Brown chicks last Tuesday , the 16th . I had to put the new chicks into their own brooder because the two week old chicks would not allow the new chicks to eat or drink . All of the new chicks will have to be kept separate from the main flock until they are old enough ( that is big enough ) to make their own place in the pecking order. They don't have a mama to fend for them as chicks born into the flock would have . I drove to the VA Clinic today . Spring is here ! The weeping willow trees are greening . Daffodils and tulips are blooming. The magnolias, both the pink and white are blooming . Hang in there Al , spring is coming for the Lumnahs also .
Another glorious day on the homestead. Olivia's art work in the goat pen is gone...**sad face** But the girls are doing well and having fun! So that's good. The greenhouse chickens are laying like crazy, right? They'll do great in New Yolk City soon. Thanks for taking us along. Prayers for your back problem and Blessings from NE Missouri!
"Ewwwww!" Funny. That fog was kinda pretty. It's amazing how fast the snow melts when the temperature rises. Gardening chores are around the corner! Yes!! Hope is one smart cookie in how she finds ways to avoid the play when it gets on the rough side. But they look like they are coming around huh?🙂
Sorry you had back pain, I've been having problems with back pain. It's so much fun when you have to milk the goats when in pain. I love hopes white tail, like a little flag. 😊
Enjoyed this video a lot! Very relaxing to watch. You guys have a beautiful life up there. I love watching the progress. ~ your old neighbor from Wrentham
A helicopter Dad!🤣🤣 Ive been feeling the same way with the calf we just brought home! Goats are definitely picky eaters! Sorry to hear about your back- thats tough to deal with especially when you have such an active life!
Good morning Al: you are right about goats being picky eaters! We raised dairy goats here in southeast WI for a dozen years, and dairy cows before that on my husbands family farm. The goats always preferred all the twiggy, crunchy parts and left the leaves in the bottom of the bunk! Used to drive my husband crazy, as he maintained the milk was in the leaves. Another old wives tail saying buy a goat to keep your grass mowed was also totally false. They are really a lot more similar to deer, in my thinking! Love the daily goat chores and goats playing king of the mountain! Cannot wait for those “kids” to arrive!
Enjoyed this video.....good to see more of Ms Gina as well. Hope was enjoying her brush down....she is the sweetest mascot of the farm.. Al & Gina, the eggs crack best against each other, not on bowl- seems to always allow no shells to fall in food- something a chicken farmer taught me 😊
Praying for a quick healing for your back. Question: Why not carefully hit two eggs together to make getting them open without shells crumbling inside your food? The only one that gets cracked on the side of the dish is the last one...works for me. New to the channel and really enjoy the "thank you, ladies"; "how you treat and greet all your animals, and the cooking segments. I really like the pots with the wooden handles. You're doing so well with hope and I'm happy to see how happy you guys are two
We put planks down during mud season -- and the goats actually use them! You could try that if you find that the mud is a problem.
I liked that Gina got more screen time today. You go, girl! Your pancakes turned out perfectly too. Blessings to you all!

Might have to put a layer of gravel and fill in the goat yard to aid drainage. You can put soil on top for the comfort of their feet. You get so much rain and snow that this might become essential.
