It’s hard for me to choose but I love the silver, co Clair, Swiss, and Dawn was so beautiful, Bessie and Tippy well their coats are beautiful also and look so soft and cuddly. Wildee just stands out with her coat. Piper stands out also. See I waffle back and forth on the coats. You have some beautiful coats in your herd, can’t wait to see the next batch of babies. Argon, Marshall, and the full grown buck in a tiny package, will bring some surprises in coat patterns this breeding year, can’t wait.
I love the Nigerian colors. My fav is the Chamoise. Except for your new silver buck - he's awesome! I've been watching since '19, and never tire of watching them.
It was getting into goat spots, as art inspiration for my painting, that first drew me to your channel (during COVID lockdown). I fell in love with Nigerians*, and your channel, as you do such an excellent job as a teacher/host. I'm an avid follower of your channel. I would love to win your soaps because, as a single disabled person, I have not yet been able to buy them. I already follow you on Etsy. So next, it's off to email... *edit: I should have said goats, because, although I have met some lovely Nigerian people, I cannot say in truth that I fell in love with them. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm all about the flashy 😍 Not going to compromise conformation, but if I get a good body covered in adorable colors with bright blue eyes I'm thrilled 🥰 Especially a broken chamoisee with overlay moonspots. Or a chocolate cou clair 😍
I loved the apple crisp...smelled good enough to eat 😊❤. Been following you guys for quite a while.. have watched your family and herd grow. Love you guys ❤️. Merry Christmas 🎄
I have several Sundgau and Swiss marked does (standered breeds) as well as a red roan, blue roan, and some with gray roaning. Gotta say I love those colors!
It's hard to pick but the ones that really catch my eye in your herd are Cami, Wildee, Ray, Daisy, Bessie, and Aragon. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how beautiful I thought Dawn was. ❤
Thanks for this really good video and the info on patterns and coat colors. It will help a lot when the babies start arriving. I'll actually have more of an idea of what you're saying. Love all of your videos.
We have the holly jolly bar, and my family LOVES this one also. And the candy cane is amazing! As far as goat patterns, thank you for this video. I am still new and will definitely come back to this video when my ladies have their kids. I am not sure on this part yet.
I have "mutt" goats!!! Blue is getting big!! I love all your soaps and am gifting bars to friends and family for Christmas this year.. I will need to restock mine soon! Love to all of you! ❤😘
They are all beautiful!!!! I want one,two,,,no...... maybe ALL OF THEM 😊😊😊😊 interesting coat patterns you are talking about i enjoyed it immensely. Thanks for teaching about coats❤ it really interests me alot!!! Greatjob I would love to meet you and your family including your animals. ❤❤
I've watched your show for years and it's always so enjoyable and interesting. You give such a knowledgable lesson of how to raise goats. I wanted to have goats at one time in my life but now I'm too old to have them You make it look easy. My favorite goat is the ones with the moon spots
I like chamoisee with the heavy white overlay.I love Dreamer and I think Bessie is totally adorable 😊it's too bad you can't leave her cute little top knot on for shows. Legend has just about destroyed his Elvis bangs.😢 Did you notice that he and Champ rub their heads in the same place when they are going into rut ? Male pattern balding 😅 ❤
My favorite pattern would be a combination of Swiss/Chamoisee. It looks like a Chamoisee goat but has white stockings instead of black. Just google "Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk." In goats, the color determining region of DNA is called Agouti Locus: There are 8 possibilities. 1. Gold (Dominant). 2. Black (Recessive). The other patterns are dominant over "Black" pattern, but recessive to "Gold" pattern. They are: 3. Buckskin. 4. Chamoisee. 5. Swiss. 6. Cou Claire. 7. Sundgau. 8. Bezoar. The numbers 5-8 are generally considered to be predominant in the Swiss breed of goats. 😂 You'll notice that genes 3-8 have both black and tan areas (bicolored goat). For example when a goat inherits a copy of Chamoise and buckskin gene. Both will be expressed. The tan areas corresponding to both genes will be expressed, but only overlapping black areas will be expressed. Hence a Buckskin/Chamoisee will look like a gold goat with a black line on their foot.
Ok.... so Elsa was actually very light gold carrying Swiss. That's where the VERY gold Everest came from right? And that Swiss buck popped out from her recessive Swiss? That's awesome.
I love Chamoisee , Calico , and buck skin those are my favorite colors. I love all your goats, you make a really good videos. I would like to buy one of Cammy or Mayo baby. ❤
It is hard to choose 1. I am drawn to moon spots. And black. I can't choose just 1. You have a lot of great colors. But I would choose 1 that has the straight backline and strong bones and legs over color. Thanks for the clip of the dogs playing.
Recessive red is a hard one to tell apart from gold in most cases. There are less variations than gold but very similar. The genes work different though. Where a gold kid born has to have a gold parent (dominant gene) the red gene is a recesive gene and both parents have to have it to pass it on to a kid. So if you have two parents with their coat patterns that aren't red and they have a "gold" looking kid, it's more than likely the recessive red gene.
Very interesting info about your beautiful goats. I love their varied colors.
I love the picture with all of them laying down. So pretty.
As always I enjoyed your video. And I learned alot about your goat colors. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays.

Hi Crystal and family
I love all the goats Dinkie was my favorite.
What’s the name of your new puppy?
Have Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎊 🎉
His name is Blue! :)
Nefarious has the darkest brown eyes we have ever seen. Most of our goats have gold or blue.
Dark is uncommon in my herd too but they're so pretty!
We❤🔵🌵🍶🐐s!!!

Correct. It's one of my favorites too. It's so flashy!
l like animals 🎉❤❤❤❤
Cami's my favorite
I kina wanted to know about red goats or soild red
Are they just a variation of black or gold. I cant tell as their shade varies from light to dark
@@BlueCactusDairyGoatsthanku, thats an interesting fact about genetics 💗
i love the silver and blue eyes, but i like the other colours too~ once im able to get a new account on Etsy, i'll be buying more soap LOL
Buckskin for me 😀
Wow I had no idea black was recessive like that!! We have a black goat that was born out of my buckskin buck and my toggenberg marked doe.
Both have the recesive black then :)
@@BlueCactusDairyGoats that's cool I bred her back to him again this season so maybe more black babies are in our future!
