    Roll the rear flat onto your toolkit and gloves. Should get it high enough to get the center stand like normal.

    Another very good video! As I watched, I was thinking he should gorilla tape over the rim strip,,,,happy to see you do that, it always worked for me. I hope you "pinged" your spokes looking for any loose ones too.

    Hey i like your video’s and ural’s, I was wondering wich you prefer from front fork the one like your m70 or the ct?
    What you think drives best for daily driving?
    Greeting from Belgium ride safe.

      I much prefer the M70/Retro handling and use it for my daily driver (not that I drive daily but it is my primary mode of transport). My wife, on the other hand, prefers her cT. I find the leading link fork a harsher ride and has more turning resistance. In the end, it's rider preference. I find the Retro much smoother and more of a floating feel than the cT, i.e. it's nice on the pavement. The leading link, however, is much better on dirt especially if you want to adventure ride. I would say, ride one of each before you make that final decision.

    Could you have ridden up the driveway a little more and let gravity help you “fall back” into the center stand? Nice cradle for the Bikers Friend. Thanks for the quality videos.

    Love my Retro too, but sure hate flat tires...hate to say it, you have to do that 2 more times before you catch up with me!

    Wow - that is an unusual cause for a flat! Good video, as usual.
    I had a tube failure (new tire change) while I was in California. Luckily, I was getting close to my hotel, but had to stop every few miles to pump the tire up again. I had to solicit the help of two large guys at breakfast the next day to help me get in on the center stand. I still need to get a lightweight scissor jack to haul around with me.

      My tire wouldn't hold any air, you were lucky! Look for a Ford Ranger mechanical bottle jack. Small, easy to stow and works well. I just picked up two of them (one for each rig) from LKQ and won't be riding without them.

      Thanks for the info. I was going to order one from eBay and then remembered that I have a Mazda B2500 that gets driven maybe a couple hundred miles a year (Home Depot etc). I rides on 33 inch tires with no spare, so I think it would be happy to donate it’s jack to the cause. Yay!

    Bob, I had a pusher flat at Lake Kluane, Yukon. While changing the tube a lady drove up and told me there was a big grizzly just around the curve I was next to. 10 minutes later, Officer Wallace of the RCMP pulled up and informed me the was a really big grizzly around the curve. He stayed with me until I was back on the road.

      Thank God in Florida the only thing we have that can eat you swims in the water so as long as you stay out of the water you're good I don't understand why you don't call road service to have you taken to a dealer to get the tire changed my 99 euro is easy to put on the center stand and there's a foot of clearance change the flat tire and I don't have to take the muffler off either I came out to find a flat tire at the restaurant after I had breakfast and I could put a big can of Fix-A-Flat in it and I'm still riding it today

    I like to run heavier tubes as well , anything that uses a tube type tire usually doesn't go that fast anyway , like my klr . Back in the motocross days ,when I was a kid , the magazines were telling us to put lots and lots of baby powder between the tube and tire . It helps the tubes settle into their dark little homes and helps the tube and tire run cooler by reducing the friction between them .
    Maybe we should baby powder our politions . ? . Might smell better 2 .

    How good are urals on the highway/turnpike and on hills/mountains

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  4 роки тому +2

      We enjoy them, we run about 65mph when on the highways (per GPS the sweet spot is 63mph) and stay in the right lane mostly. That the interstates are not where Urals shine, it's mainly about riding the less ridden roads and enjoying the view.

    How have the heavy duty tubes been working out? Curious if they hold air better than the stock ural tubes that loose air over time faster than any tire I have seen.

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  2 роки тому +1

      They are holding up well. No over heating issues and they lose air at about 1/2 the rate of the regular tubes. We air them up about once a week to 10 days. The tires that still have standard tubes take about 2-3psi while the heavy duty tubes end up only needing 1 or 2 psi at most.

    @Gone Uraling >>> Do all Urals use tires with tubes? Or do any use tubeless tires?
    {I had a non-sidecar motorcycle once - a 400cc Yamaha - but that was like 38 years ago.}

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  4 роки тому +1

      Urals use spoke wheels, as a result, they use tubes in the tires.
