My grandparents had that table! It was designed for a rather large living room. They had it with the two compartment s facing outward and the two flat sides next to two mid century sofas creating a huge L shaped sitting area. The table was the big corner statement piece where grandma had this ornate lamp. My sister and I would use the cubby as a play area for our dolls. I completely forgot that memory until seeing thus video. You should have no trouble selling it.
How awesome.Love the nostalgia!!
It’s called a game table. Back when people actually played board games they would use a table like this and the compartment underneath was used to store games. My family still has one.
People who put puzzles together will love this table. Don't forget you need to pay yourself for a days work!
That's a great idea for puzzles!
I thought that
Was my idea also... of the board I use for my coloring book and prismacolor pencils!
Looks really good. My one thought is that the flip down doors should have been painted and stained on the inside as they will be viewed when opened.
.
I agree. It would have really given it a perfect, professional finish if the fold down doors were finished and the cane painted as well! If I were buying from her, I would ask her to complete this for me. It would definitely be worth more money then!!
Beautiful colors Lauren!!
I agree about painting & staining the inside so it would match the outside. I would want that to if I was buying that piece of furniture.
Love the table. People with kids love big coffee tables to play games and use the storage for that
off topic, but that jumper style is your most flattering look
It is beautiful and would go nicely with a large couch! Could you do a summary of each piece and what you sold it for when you get everything sold? It would be awesome!
In the future when you're cutting 2x4s or less with the circular saw, Use a speed square along with it. Align the blade with your cut line and the speed square next to the saw guard and it's straight cuts every time.
Perfect for games with the kids, and food for a party for the adults!!
I really like the way this flip turned out. Good job.....again.
Perfect game table for the family!
I love how it turned out, however, you should have redone the inside of it as well.
The result is impressive. To have the knowledge and skills to do that kind of thing must be a great privilege. I'd love to have a coffee table like that to place in front of my new Togo sofa from Manhattan Home Design. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise.
That wood looks like hard rock maple. I have a corner map table that has the same finish on it. Solid wood. The Sand Bar color really complements the top. Great job!
I can say that I just bought a coffee table about the same size with drawers. They are great to store remotes, nail kit, pen and paper etc. I sure you will stage a pic with that compartment open. It’s a great selling point.🐶
Wow love it! So glad you didn’t go shorter! ❤️
I really want to love this table as much as you do, but I don't feel like it was really completed well enough for $200 😞At 15:35 you can see the paint bled through the cane to the backside and looks splotchy, and the old orange finish is right next to the new brown finish you put on the main piece. The backside of the doors may only be seen when you open them, but when buyers *do* open them they will want to see a finished piece =/ That's definitely a coffee table I would buy if it was finished! You do really great work, Lauren!
Great job Lauren! Looks great!
I don’t think you will have any problems selling it. Plus huge selling point is the storage. I love it!
That really turned out just beautiful! Good job
Oh my goodness, someone is going to want this back! My coffee cable is big and we keep a lot of stuff on it, I agree with Jean, perfect for puzzles!
I love your work I think I’m gonna do more of that in the spring and summer of 2023
looks "beachy" 🏝!! If I bought it I would probably try to paint the inside. It would peeve me that the color inside was "old". I think it would do triple duty as an ottoman/coffee table/game table in my house!!
Turned out great! Good table for game night with the kids!
It’s a great table. Very on trend with the cane. Might look good with a sectional.
This is one of my favorite flips you have done, love the color and big transformation!!!
It’s still pretty !!! You saved this piece of furniture ❤
Nice job Lauren! it will work perfect with all the large couch configerations that are popular now! Thank You!
Great coffee table makeover 😊
Sorry about the post that was supposed to go somewhere else……. Love that your back to do your flips!! Merry Christmas!!!❤
The height is perfect. Good 👍 job.
It turned out gorgeous! I love it, it will go great with those huge corner sectional couches !!
It looks great!!! I think it's going to sell really quickly.
I HAVE A COFFEE TABLE THAT SIZE,LOVE WHAT YOU DID WITH IT
I love this. The color combo is👌
It looks fabulous, but I am curious as to why you didn't finish the inside of the drawers.
Looks orange vs pale color outside. Not good.
I also agree that you should have finished the inside and also it should have been top coated at least 2 times. The top more because glasses put directly onto the wood will leave round marks. It doesn't matter if the directions says it says not to. Minwax the same thing. My husband and I have been in business since 1977 and I can't even tell you how many people have brought in furniture that they're moisture bleeding. Any furniture with a flat top. If you want a flat (not shiny finish) there are eggshell or satin topcoats. Your table has a beautiful stained finish, but needs more finish. Even the cane will get brittle. Sorry if you feel like I'm saying too much. But you could get an even better price for another maybe 2 hours of work.
I do love your channel. I have watched from the beginning and this is my first time commenting on anything. Most of the time someone has already commented on the subject. HAPPY HOLIDAYS 😊 ❤🎄🎉
Sorry. I didn't mean to sound mean, just trying to give a little advice. Again I love your channel.
@@Gamma1956 I couldn't agree more. It made the piece look unfinished. I'm just a potential purchaser, I don't refinish or flip, but it would be a hard pass on this table. And I loved both the table and the colors she chose. I don't think you were being mean, just some constructive criticism. I wasn't trying to be mean with my comment either. I thought it looked horrible when you pulled down the drawer/not a drawer. I'm pretty sure another hour or so and she could add at least another hundred. I know personally, I would pay $300-$350. But as it is now I would pay $0.
Beautiful wood, beautiful job!
....I'm too late with my idea but was thinking it would have been equally nice raised up as a game table or cafe table with stools underneath. Has the storage for either of those options.
This is a beautiful flip! You really have great taste Lauren 😊
What a fabulous update!!! It is so current and modern for todays decor!!!
Just gorgeous
I’ve have thoroughly enjoyed all your flipmas videos and seeing you back to furniture painting again . Love them all . Merry Christmas Lauren!
Turned out beautiful the perfect coffee table ☺️
Nice Job on this video! :) You look beautiful and your a hardworker in those Overalls! :) Keep up the good work!
Very cool piece that you found!! I love what you did with it and I would have done the same thing!!
That's great, it's even.
The large coffee tables with a glass top are collector tables. I have one and love it.
Great kid table
Hey Lauren, that is a vintage pie safe/cheese holder.
I was wondering what it was too 😎
Wow! The table looks great! I know you mentioned the stain didn't need a top coat and I am assuming you didnt add any additional protection from watching the video. It definitely looks so good!
Seems like a craft table or artist table where you don't sit at it. I love how you repurposed it!
I would love to have this table for the beach place
Great job, love the coffee table 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
That looks awesome. I was so worried the orange wood show.
KNEW IT WOULD BE LEVEL, TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL
Turned out great. Love the wood stain colours.😊❤
This turned out so Awsome. It is beautiful.
I absolutely LOVE this flip! It looks amazing!!! ❤❤❤
Love how this table came out so much! Really enjoying these vlogmas videos!! 💜
What did you put on the bottom of legs to keep them from scratching the floors. ??
Awesome job on the table loving it
Silly question, where do you get your overalls? They look really comfortable!
I like this table!
I’m thinking that maybe originally, because of the doors on two sides only, it may have been meant to be a side table in a corner, with a couch on one side, and a chair or loveseat on the other. I’m thinking that’s probably why there were not doors on the two other sides, which would have been in the back against the walls. Just a guess.
However, I love it repurposed as a coffee table too, great work!
It's beautiful Lauren
That turned out great, but not finishing the inside of the doors let’s it way down…
love it
That. Is. Beautiful.
It looks soooo good!! you nailed it! happy flipmas 🎅🎄🦌🤶❄️⛄🍪🎅
I'm local to you and I would love this table. ❤️
message me on instagram and we can chat! 🤗
you can also email us furnitureflippingteacher@gmail.com
I love this one!
That is beautiful!. I wonder if it was a card/game table?
I'm new at refinishing pieces. Can you tell me why you sprayed it with water. I've been following you from the beginning of your transformation!!! I enjoy it so much.
Very nice colors, good for a big house
I love this!
Wow and so solid🥰
Oh, there is your xmas hat!!
and Mrs T Nice job on the table being lower was te way to go BUT the back of the cane should be painted as when open its look a rough job and deffinatly must be pained both the cane and the inside. Sure you must agree Lauren.
Really like the colors. 👏 🤩
No top coat on a coffee table? Turned out Awesome.
nice job.
I was saying "No! Measure from the top of the legs!" Like my bro in law watching action movies. I just thought what if they were already wrong, or it was altered to make them wrong (hence the awkward height) and you'd just be repeating the unevenness only shorter.
Thanks!
Wonder if the original was a seeing table? Great storage too
Good deal! 😃😃😃
Great work
Very nice !
I would buy it. 😁
Beautiful 😍
Love it!!!
Beautiful! I'm new to flipping, so I have a question. Why don't most flippers paint the back side of pieces or inside drawers? Thanks for your channel! I'm learning lots from you.
As a furniture artist, if a piece will be against a wall it won't necesarily get painted unless you have to replace the back. But if it will be in the center of a room, I paint it around all sides. On the drawers, if they are in good shape inside, just clean and refresh the wood with a wax, if you have nothing to hide! But if not in great shape I add fabric, decoupage, wallpaper, contact paper, or a stencil. I seldom paint inside a drawer. On the sides of drawers, I might stencil or add a transfer. Just some ideas.
@velmacoffey3763 thank you so much for the advice! I currently have a couple of pieces I'm working on, an antique desk and a veneer six drawer dresser. My biggest problem is I think I'm trying to make the pieces TOO perfect and it's taking a lot of time. Not so great for flipping.
The paint bled through on the cane so I definitely would have painted both sides. Plus when you pull down the drawer front, it not being finished as well doesn't look good. I definitely would have finished those pull down drawers (they weren't really drawers), and conditioned the inside with the orange smelling wax. And I'm saying this as a potential buyer, because I don't refinish or flip furniture. I just love watching others that do.
@ireneburke1732 I agree, I would have liked a bit more finishing, but I think it was a quick flip.
I believe this is a conant ball table from the 1950s we owned this table they sell for a high price on ebay
Nice
So how did all your flips do? Like the white one
I prefer a taller coffee table. I can't find any tall enough!
Can you make wood wash with different colors other than white?
Lauren did the white piece sell that you did to see if white is in still?
not yet! have had just a few people interested
It kinda looks like a game table to me. Anyway, it’s unique.
Beautiful job. Let us know if it sells
Nice finished table. Noticed the music/editing is a little loud/distracting sound. Always appreciate your work.
