- In this video, I step out of my comfort zone again and use this beautiful Mint Julip Green from Dixie Belle. I loved the original hardware so I just simply updated it with a little bit of gold spray paint. It’s still crazy to me how a couple coats of paint can transform furniture so easily and drastically! Unfortunately, we haven’t sold this one yet but I know its right home is out there (:
Thanks for watching!

Probably the prettiest, most unusual hardware I've seen here so far, love it
Glad you like it! I agree! (: It was definitely unique!
Best production value of all the furniture flipping videos on UA-cam, hands down. Great work, Lauren and Neiman!
Facts.
Lauren, Looks amazing! FYI, I use old candles to wax the drawers and it works like a charm. Just rub them on to the areas that affect sliding!
I like the way you "break it down to the basics". I believe that ability was learned as you became a kindergarten teacher. No matter where any of us are in learning a NEW SKILL, there comes a time that ALL us needs a "back to the beginning course". You have that ability to take us "back to the beginning"! Thanjks!
Hi Lauren- I just retired last night and have been watching your videos getting inspiration to get my feet wet painting furniture. I brought home two small tables from work and just have to pick my paint. Wish me luck!
I just sold my very first refinished piece of furniture, a night stand, and I painted it almost the exact same color but I used Behr paint. I painted the original hardware champagne gold. The young lady, mid 20's, who purchased it said that she was obsessed over the green and gold color combo and that caught her eye when she saw mine on FB marketplace.
Nice job, Bob!!
It's a really cool retro look with that hardware the shape and the colour. That's a very 1960 colour. My house growing up when my parents bought it in the 80's from my great grandparents was that colour and bubblegum pink.
Looks like MCM piece with the thin vertical lines and the hardware. I'm not crazy about the color, but it's a beautiful piece and you did a great job. It was 117 today where I live in AZ. And don't say, "But it's a dry heat." At that temp it really doesn't matter....just plain hot!
Yeah! I think it was MCM for sure!
Neiman is from AZ and tells me all the time 😀 Thanks for watching and stay cool!
I’m from AZ as well! It’s just Waaayy too hot for me to even work on my pieces right now. And I think my paint dries faster than I can apply it! Lol! Nieman would absolutely know that for sure! Lol!
I love the color! And the gold hardware is a perfect touch. Really enjoy watching you transform these pieces
Thanks, Helen! Glad you enjoy!
Looove this cool mint color paired with the unique looking gold hardware!!
Good job, Lauren!!
Love this dresser's new look! Such a difference. I know it will sell soon. ♥
Everything about that piece is beautiful. I want, I want, I want!
As a college student I worked a bit for a painting company and we used cheap kitchen garbage bags for lining our paint trays. Just put the tray in the bag and wrap the excess plastic underneath and use a small amount of tape to secure it. When finished removing the tape allowed us to turn the bag inside out keeping the paint inside. Its a great way to clean up the rest of your small trash around your work area too.
Lauren, you can wrap your oil based rollers and brushes in plastic and put them in the freezer. That will probably get you many more uses out of them. I have done this and it works beautifully.
Ohh! Thanks for the tip! Definitely didn’t know!
@@FurnitureFlippingTeacher I'm glad I could help. When you're painting repeatedly using the same paint and color it is definitely a time and money saver. It doesn't take very long to thaw out either.
I love the hardware, and I’m liking that you re-mounted them vertically. Very cool.
I want to give a shout out to your hubby. I’ve been watching your channel since your 3rd video and the camerawork has evolved so much! It’s always a pleasure to watch. Next is to save up for a trip down under, where I live! Cheers Vanessa
I love that color! I just refinished a pair of night stands in that exact color... it took about 3 weeks but finally sold for $200! Had a lot of low ball offers but stuck to my price. Love your channel btw!
Way to stick to your guns, Raquel!!
That shade of green is the perfect 1930s green-- like old Fiesta Ware. Such a great piece.
Absolutely love this piece Lauren! The colour, the hardware it’s so pretty! Amazing finish with the top coat too! 💯 👌🏽
Neutrals are fine, but seeing this beautiful color makes my heart skip a beat!
Like that gold spray. Goes well with the green, which I really admire. Neiman is a good filmer!
The gold pieces you used for staging went well with the hardware! Great choice. Made the hardware stand out
Yes! Thank you!
I love it! I think this would be great in a nursery ! Love that color! Another great job!
Love the color…. The hardware is awesome…..it really popped those drawers. Excellent job! Have a great week!
I love the color! It looks like my kitchen cabinets we painted in SW Clary Sage. I never get tired of it! Such a soothing color!
Love, love the color! I would call it cool cucumber. Great job once again Lauren! Looking forward to Thursday.
Yay! Thank you!
Love that color. It reminds me of my Grandmothers kitchen...Memories :)
Support you 100, anyone trying to better themselves by working hard is someone I can get behind. Love what you do with the furniture too. You'll have that debt paid off in a couple months, but I hope you continue your side hustle.
Awesome color. The hardware was beautiful. It would of really popped on top of a navy blue. Nice job!!!
I love it especially the hardware! If I lived in Nebraska it would be mine! 😆
The end result looks delicious! Haha! 😄
Hi Lauren,
Just a note to all who don't believe a brush makes a difference! Boy was I wrong! I've watched your show, love it by the way, and you inspired me to try furniture flipping 😎. Any who, just getting started, I bought the cheapest of everything, sponge brushes, and Behr chalk paint. I watered, primed, and got poop. Today I am trying out the Zibra block brush (my name for it, the sloped square brush). Had to get paint into some tiny design, and I watered, prepared my paint in a cup, and WOW! Good gracious, the paint went on super smooth, really easily, and I don't think I used as much paint! Maybe I'm crazy, but I could truly tell the difference! Now I'm going to paint the rest with the Zibra 2 or 2.5 inch wedge brush 😀. Can I tell you Thank you, I'm a really happy girl! You are such a great teacher, I'm sad for your children, but super happy for you 😃. Thank you, thank you, thank you 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹.
I love the color & the uniqueness of the hardware.
Hey Lauren! So, Brushed by Brandy has a video out on how to pretty much eliminate the brush lines. I’m sure you already know most of it. But just thought I’d pass it along cause I really learned from her great technique. Love this piece! LOVE the color! You are awesome lady!😍
Thanks for sharing Michelle! I will have to check it out.
Keep on flipping my friend and we are happy to have you hear with us 💕
I actually painted a desk that color about 15 years ago. Still have it, still love it. My parents had a chest of drawers nearly identical to that, in the late 50's - to early 60's. The hardware was horizontal on the drawers. It was the exact same original stain, had the lines in it...I couldn't believe when I saw you had that. I think anyone who likes coastal or cottage style, is going to love the color. Good luck! 🙂👍
Wow! crazy! and yes, I almost thought the hardware should be horizontal as well. I have seen an identical dresser like that. we’ll see! maybe I will change it up on the other matching dresser 🤔 thanks for watching!
Love this! The color is so pretty with the gold hardware. Mid century furniture has the coolest hardware designs, so unique! Great job on the flip
Soon beautiful. Love the colour, stunning!
Love it!! It has a 60s vibe... like something I had when I was a little girl!
Yes! Very mid century
I'm addicted to Rustoleum COPPER Metallic. It makes everything pop. I love the gold you used too though.
oooo copper! I will have to try that one out! Thanks!
I love the hammered copper. Painted my gate and gabion baskets with it.
I've been using that copper and love it too!
I am so pleased, found the products you use in our Spanish store today, Your brushes etc, so excited. Although obviously the names look different in Spanish, just need a project now! Yaaa
I love the color & the gold drawer pulls.
This is cool! I’m glad this showed up in my suggestions!
We are happy to have been suggested! Welcome 😁 we hope you find value in FFT whatever the shape or form. Thanks for joining along in the journey!
Love the color, and the hardware. Very nice fresh color.
Love those cool drawer pulls!! Piece looks really beautiful!
This heat though!!! It's been brutal. You did a great job with this dresser. Great color!
I really enjoy watching all your furniture tranformations. Getting ideas and inspiration from your different choices. I think this green with the gold hardware is my favorite right now. Just beautiful!
Thank you so much! That's great! (: Glad you like it!
Thank you Lauren! That tip of waking the drawers saved me! Now I don't have to fight with my vintage dresser anymore!
Love the color. I also purchased one of the rolling seats that you use from amazon. OMG. Love it. It is great. Thanks Lauren for finding that, I had been using an office chair.
Love the color, the gold and the hardware!
Gave up teaching during the pandemic- don’t blame you! Hope your flipping does well. It looks great!
I have rubbed a bar of soap or a wax candle on drawer slides too...to make drawers slide in and out well.
Vaseline also works.
Ahh! I see! Great idea!
also heard to start with the piece upside down to get all places you might miss
I love the colour. One of my favourites.
The color is so refreshing. Nice bright spot in a bedroom or even dining room. The hardware is really unique. Rock on you two. 🤗
I must say, the latest collection of pieces you have painted are very stylish and have beautiful lines. Good hunting you two!! I like Neiman's color pick, it looks beautiful with the gold accents.🌷🌷
I 💗💗💗 this piece! That green is my color & it looks amazing with gold.
Yes, love the color. You have really good taste......for a yungin!
Love the color and the hardware. Great job!!!!
Bonsoir Lauren, beautiful colour and those hardware are so unique! My parents used to run a candle on that piece of wood so the drawers would close nicely! LOL! Different times for sure! Christine 🇨🇦
That would do in a pinch! 🤗 thanks for watching, Christine!
New subscribers love this color also like the color Tiffany Blue Mont Green or Turquoise…! That gold just pops makes so much better.
Looks so retro! And I love the hardware ❤
And Mrs t wow we love the colour and you staged it well good luck with a sale
Love the color! Can you share where you got the canopy? I need a wedding tent 🎪😍
You are so inspiring Lauren! Thank you for all of the tips and tricks you share with your subscribers
Great color and such unique hardware!!
I love mid century modern furniture!!! I love the color as well! Awesome job!
Like the green with gold pulls very pretty !
Thank you!!
I JUST used this color on the top portion of my coffee bar!!! It is a 6 drawer dresser that I bought for my KIDS 30 years ago. When they moved out, I used the dresser in MY bedroom for about 10 years or even longer.....and THEN a few months ago, I FLIPPED IT into a coffee bar. I used white on the entire piece and the MINT Dixie Belle on the TOP. I changed out the hardware to black "line" pulls and it is PHENOMENAL!!! YOU DID A GREAT JOB ON THAT CHEST!!!
Wow, Pattie! I can picture it! 😀 Thanks for sharing!
Love it - this is the colour in my bedroom - it is such a calming colour.
Love ❤️ You Lauren, you inspire me!
Used to sell in flea markets. The silver tarps were the coolest. You could try test one on top of the white. I think we got a ten degree difference.
Using that dark green you had with this mint green would look awesome.
ohh interesting thought!
It's 102 today in Northglenn, CO.
Love It.
I love the color! Beautiful job!
Thanks for your advice. Have a great day
I had this really cool Art Deco chest of drawers that was old and I think hand carved. Painted it black and had gold wax on the details. I thought for sure it would sell quickly. Listed it for $325. Ended up dropping it to $200 and not a single peep of interest. So I’ve finally decided to keep it for my son’s room. The market is weird.
Your channel has really inspired me to keep at this. I've sold my first two pieces already with one person asking if I can redo more furniture for her...that's saying alot with 3 kids 6 and under 😅 I'm super excited to see where this leads
Beautiful color! ♥️
I make my props using fluted vases, old books, etc. using decoupage. I did blk./white roosters, they came out beautiful. I use them for flowers,or wooden utensils for kitchen furniture. Made faux book covers, not attached,so I can switch them out, depending on the furniture type. Love the dresser.
ohh great ideas! you must be crafty!
So pretty..love your work and the way you explain everything
Love the color. The hardware is awesome ❤️❤️❤️
I agree! its so unique!
Very pretty, I love the color and those hardwares are just gorgeous 🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍 Well done Lauren 👌 I hope the tent will be up soon again for you even if the natural light is nicer on the video 😉😉
This is the prettiest restoration I have seen you do. Love it! 💚💚💚
ahh thank you!
LOVE the color.
I love the mint, I recently got one close to that in Annie Sloan. I just love it. Thanks for the teaching that you do. I've been watching your videos and I love that you paid off your debt! Us too. But not with painting. But still, it's a crazy-good feeling and now ... onto saving for you down payment. So cool. Cheers, Ivy.
Love the mint green! Really great size piece for most households as well! 💖💖💖
yes! thank you!!
Love the hardware and the green is a great color
I hope you have a fan in that tent! Great idea for sure. I use a basic one but it has no sides.
Knew I would like it before you even started!
Awe thanks!!
Yes, I do like the color a lot! Nice piece...
thanks!!
Love everything about it!
Love the wax idea, I've also read that rubbing a piece of bar soap could work in a smooth slide.
Love the color, I'd pain my bedroom wall that color green. ✝️💞
Love this, very good job 🌺🌼🌸🌷🌹
My bathroom is that green, I’m moving soon and planning to have white walls everywhere. I’ll paint all my bedroom furniture. The left over green paint will look nice in the grandchildren’s room. Just rub an old candle on the wood runners and bottom outside edges of draws
That colour is interesting, not sure I've seen that colour on draws before.
I like the hardware, but I'm not a gold person so don't love it lol.
Thank you for sharing, I'm learning heaps.
Stay safe
I really like the color and with this hardware, too bad the top drawer wasn't stained to reveal any grain but I understand. The two tone is so striking when it's both stained & painted (like the blue one.) Do mention that it's original MCM hardware, dovetailed etc and especially no pets or odor...particularly for this pastel color which might be appropriate for an infant's room. It's a beautiful chest especially since the original gold accents weren't damaged in the past 60 yrs. Job well done Lauren and Neiman on video - it does requires teamwork : )
I love the mint color. That's actually a very popular color now in the farmhouse style. Not crazy about gold, prefer silver. You did a great job!
The multi layers of stain are done to give dimension to the final color. Here's a trick for saving roller covers, after putting it in a plastic bag squeezing out all the air put it in the refrigerator. Refresh with a mist of water. In fact before you use the roller cover "prime" the roller by lightly misting with water and using a lint free cloth to remove moisture. What this does is help not to waste paint lost in the roller.
Try removing the weenie roller from your handle and leave it in the can, when you are ready to use it again just put the handle back into the roller while it is in the can and it will not need to be cleaned between uses, you can toss with the can if you need to, use the roller that fits in the can.
Yeah first. Maybe... I try not to miss a video. I enjoy your enthusiasm
thanks for being here and supporting!
