- $1800 FOR A DRESSER?! What about $120?
Let's duplicate this high-end dresser ourselves for a much more reasonable cost (;
Welcome to the 🎄12 DAYS OF FLIPMAS🎄 presented by Furniture Flipping Teacher.
For Day 1 of the 12 days of Flipmas we are duplicating this $1800 dresser I found on the internet! I loved the dresser but that price is just outrageous. Join me in this video as I look to recreate this high-end dresser for a 40th of the cost. All it is going to cost me is a bit more sweat equity and patience!
Do you think I achieved a pretty similar look? Was the DIY worth it or should I have just bought the $1800 dresser? Let me know in the comments!
Be sure to get subscribed and join us for Day 2 of Flipmas on December 3rd. This month we will be releasing a new furniture flip every other day leading up to one of the best times of the year, Christmas! 🎄

It was beautiful as usual!!
The dresser looked fantastic well done. The video was well done too, I liked the split screen etc. Thank you🥰
12 days of flipmas, I'm here for it! 🎉This dresser looks fantastic, and that hardware was perfect. 🌟
,,,,xxv
I love to see you flip a dresser again! Been following since you were paying off your school debts. You have inspired me so much. My latest project is going to be turning a baby changing table into a chic bar cart. Thanks for teaching me the skills!!💜
sounds like a great fun project!
A very simple and almost no future at all can still be transformed with great hands and skills. 👏😉
I have really missed your furniture flipping videos.
We’ve all really missed the furniture flipping side of your ventures. Thanks for bringing this back to what got you started. You are very inspirational. Nice piece!
When applying fabric, I spray it with a liquid starch and water solution, then smooth it onto the wood. It will stay put until you choose to remove it. You can easily peel it off. I think I would have ironed that fabric with steam to flatten it out before applying, but the dresser came out beautiful and the wrinkles seemed to somehow magically disappear. You always come through. I like that you can easily adapt to any problems, and quickly change course when needed.
I found a dresser at Goodwill for $25 in very good shape but had no clue what to do next. I binge watched a few of these channels but came back to yours because you are easier to follow through the process. A few takeaways from my 1st project...cleaning/prepping may be the most important step, the need for 360 degree lighting/garage too dark and to get as comfortable as you can ergonomically as you do this with all the bending, stooping and stretching....continued success and you have motivated me to find a couple small pieces and rework them..
Love love love this!!! I just really went through a divorce and have been left with nothing. I am a highly creative person, who use to be a high school Art Teacher for 23 years. You have inspired my new journey to make my new space my own. I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning. I love your story, your vibe and spunk. You and Nemin are the cutest. Thank you for the inspiration!
At the parents house and a dresser flip feels like 2021 🎉 also love the the 12 days of flipmas graphics
the nostalgia! thank you!!
Beautiful, oh and you've got me addicted to June's Journey hahaha
A friend gave me her entertainment stand with a built in electric fireplace a couple months back. It was rough. Big water blisters on the surface and some swelling. With some sanding, wood fill and chalk paint it now looks amazing! My friend said it looks better than when she originally purchased it new. I wasn't allowed to sell this one lol
This is a beautiful fresh looking dresser❗❗❗Well done 😽👍❣️
Nice change for the furniture!!! 👌 👍 😀 🙂 😊
I started flipping furniture in September and have sold 4 pieces so far. I started with watching your videos. The hardest part is waiting and not lowering the price! Thank you for continuing the furniture videos!
totally agree! I just sold a piece from June TODAY for full asking price! patience pays off especially if you have the space to store!
Old plastic sower curtains from thrifts make great reusable drop cloths (old sheets as well).
That dresser is beautiful
Hi Lauren! This came out AMAZING! I have seen some paint pours which were beautiful in their own right but this one just stands out so much for me. I love that you only did it on a few of the drawers which didn't make it so busy. Love it. I have to check out the ladies you mentioned to see their work, I have never seen their channels. I love your enthusiasm and such attention to detail how you go through the process for any one who wants to try it. Thank you for sharing.
I do like the neutral colors.
Good job.
🎉I’m rewatching some of your videos just to keep learning and refresh what I’ve already learned. This dresser turned out so beautiful! I think u should do another one!❤
I really can't write what I think because the result is just jaw-dropping :) Thanks a lot!
I love that dresser, it was just beautiful when you finished it. I’ve been flipping furniture in Australia for about five years and I’m glad you added that piece at the end of the video to say that our time and effort is worth every cent. If we were doing this in a factory we would be paid a whole lot more per hour so why shouldn’t we get the same at home. You’ve come so far, I’ve been following you almost from the beginning and I’ve loved every video. Keep up the amazing work! 👍
Depends on the factory...
Glad to see you flipping furniture again.
so good to be back!
Very organic look! Love it! 🤍🤍🤍
Use ca glue to join the lattice before attaching to drawer fronts. As long as your miters are correct they will come out tight and you’ll use less caulking or filler. Great work!
I love the furniture flipping so much. Thanks for getting back to it!
While your house flipping content is interesting, it was was the furniture that made me subscribe originally!
thank you for sticking with us!
One thing to be aware of- some water based primers can block for a year or so and then stain or tannins bleed through. I use Zinser BIN with shellac in it for this reason. It is found at the blue and the orange box stores. I’ve never used the new primers you’ve used so I can’t say if those have longevity or not.
Hurray for Twelve Days of Flipmas. I am excited to see 12 furniture flipping projects this month. Great to have you back working with furniture. Inspiring as ever.
thanks for being here!
This piece really turned out nice. Classy! 😊. You might try a brayer to help with wrinkles in the fabric before putting down the edging. Seems to help with decoupage. 🤷🏻♀️
For the fabric wrinkles: you can use a straight pin or safety pin to poke little holes in the air bump and then work the air out/ flatten the wrinkle. This works best while the glue is still wet usually. But it really helps a lot!
Amazing transformation. Absolutely love how this turned out!
I would have liked the edges (sides) of the drawers sanded and painted. You can see the dark finish.
I love the way this dresser turned out! I’ve painted fabric before and one thing that really helps is to dampen the fabric you are painting prior to the first coat. It helps the fabric absorb the paint. I wonder if that would have helped when it came time to stick it on the drawer and smooth it out. I will have to try it!
Girl I love your channel, and you did your thing!❤ If we did not live so far apart I would have you update my solid wood furniture!
Thank you so much!! I have been thinking of something to do with my 25 year old dresser. And you just gave me inspiration. . Thank you again.
Love it. Please keep a tally for the flipmas I’d love to see tally on the total overhead and profits. Bookkeeper here. It fascinating for me to see all sides of your business coming from construction management too.
thanks! I will try! im hoping to sell them in time for each video launch but its a bit of a slower season for selling big ticket items I do believe 🤗 thanks for watching!!

I would never have thought to use a blind for the drawers but now ill be keeping my eyes out when im thrifting! I love the way this one turned out !
I totally grabbed it with no intention but then the idea came to mind and now I will also continue to keep a lookout for unique things to use for flips! 🤗 thanks for watching!
Awesome ! Like thr use of that shade. Very cool you make every thing look so easy.. I need tools. Love it great job.
I watched each video of the 12 Days of Flipmas and watched the review vid too. All three of you have become such a team of creators! Thanks to Harrison & Neiman for your (unseen) obvious contributions to the success of FFT. I'm old enough to be your mom so I have an automatic response of GO TEAM and I'm proud of you all. I've watched you for the past 2 years and have been inspired and learned from you. I've redone some a couple pieces of furniture for my office & home - 2023 may be the year I flip to sell :) Happy New Year & best wishes!
