Embroidery Systems Canada sounds like a good company and they recognize a good repeat customer when they meet one. It’s wonderful they gave you supplied to get started and tryout, but the heat press is extra nice. And you already talked about potentially getting another Melco from them in your videos, so it’s good for both of you to grow your businesses. 😊 Looks like you’re having fun learning and playing with your new “toys.”

The water soluble stabilizer wouldn't leave chunks, it kinda goes jelly like and dissolves, but it can leave a bit of residue that will leave the area slightly stiff, but that also varies depending if you just use a spray bottle or wash the whole garment. We've made lacey type xmas ornaments that are just thread that we used water soluble in because a) it would be hard and tedious to get the tear away out of those tiny holes and b) it kind of leaves that slight stiffness to help the ornament keep its shape and not be floppy. So it can be used to your advantage. This applies to the brand we use anyways. Tear away is the best in my opinion but we only have a single needle machine, not sure how it would hold up under the insane speed of this machine lol. Embroidery is sooo much trial and error, as you've seen, it takes a min to find what works best for you and your needs.

I finally got to try tear away since we learned how to do hats yesterday. Soooo easy to use! But man, it leaves a lot of dust in the machine.
Tear away generally isn't recommended for anything you wear anyway, even when done with home embroidery machines. Unless you're doing like a single satin stitch letter, most designs are way too dense and it'll just fail to do it's job as each needle penetration affects the stability. For most things, you're better off with cutaway, 1-2 layers depending (for stretch fabrics like jumpers and tshirts 2 layers seems to work better.) I know some people use no show mesh for tshirts though! There are also multiple kinds of WSS, ones designed for topping and ones that can be used as a backing (the latter is great for FSL and patches!) and sometimes listings don't differentiate enough between the two. Different people like different things though! Maybe some people have better luck with tear away than those I've seen who only use cut away
I prefer sticky tear away (I have a baby lock florish) it holds up well to what I need it to do
@@Brecheese999 never really had that issue with tear away unless it's an extremely dense pattern. Things like what she did on the Halloween sweatshirt we've never had issue with.
@@BayleeJae your machine does go at the speed of light so I'm sure it's can be worse We do some novelty gifts and embroider on toilet paper, now THAT leaves a lot of dust in the machine lol.

As a leftie myself I try and buy as much leftie items as a can especially kitchen knives I end up cutting myself by accident when I use right handed knives. They slip

I know! 😆 But I needed bigger ones for the stabilizer. The small ones are more for thread.
@@mandymckk I think it's mostly serrated knives. As a lefty I've never had issues with regular knives.
Watching the livestream, you might benefit from a small bin on top of the counter for all those little bits of stabiliser.

Wash away stabilizer works really well for towels especially to keep it from sinking into the material

It moves so fast it would scare me but I love how when it slows down to cut and move to the next part, it looks like it’s checking if it did a good job embroidering. like the machine has a mind off its own ☺️

You'll need to carry around business cards for when you get compliments on your sweaters IRL 🥰 are you stitching in some kind of Label into them? Like in the tote bags
I would love to, but I'm not sure how to go about it, since I don't want to sew them all in. I also dislike the feeling of tags and cut them out. I was thinking of sublimating my name onto the inside of the collar. It would likely look faint due to the low polyester percentage, but as long as it's legible it would be fine. I figured I could test it and see.
I used a ring light pointed at the hoop in the machine and that would counteract the machine light and would show the design being stitched perfectly.

You could get some fusible stabiliser then once you’ve cut out the excess you can then iron it to the sweater if you’re not going to use soft touch over the design

I feel your pain. I had a case on my phone but it was really cute with zero protection and sure enough I dropped my phone. After buying new phone keep my otter box case on 24/7 no cute cases that have zero protection.
even if you plan on having the case off for your phone sometimes i highly recommend getting a tempered glass screen protector so if it cracks its just the protector and not your entire phone!
I have to take my phone case off to plug in my headphones, and it's so hard to grip. The metal is so smooth. I get so paranoid this will happen to me too. 😬

A screen protector and a thin phone case (from shien) can help wonders, I've dropped mine many times and only got a crack in the screen protector.
you could get a cutting mat and rotary cutters to cut the backing quickly 🥰

I will recommend maybe getting some clothing chalk to maybe help centering chest areas (you could probably use the heating press as a holder for centering but idk lol)
And I do hope we get to hear if the tread people fixed the issue were they charged you incorrectly

I use casetify with a see protector I’m so glad I did as I drop my phone a lot and te last time I dropped te screen protector cracked but my phone was safe I’ve just invested in the new caserify bounce case now. I’m to accident prone not to protect my phone as much as I can 😂😂
u can get a glass screen protector for your phones and if you drop them it only cracks that and not your actual phone screen, I have had them on a few phones and they have been major life savers.

watching you with the big scissors and backing material made me think you should get a big cutting mat and a roller blade (I thought you already had one but it may be your amazing eclectic scissors I'm remembering)
I'm glad you didn't cut it all up to match the frames as you may not use some of them for a while and the backing could be used for the first few things you make.
Cant wait to see the strawberry sweater design made up and weirdly I'm looking forward to see the caps in the future even though I don't wear them.

Seasoned Machine Embroirder, you don't need to cut off the cut away, the stitching on the Melco is tight enough you can just rip the cut away... You also don't want to use wash away unless you're doing a plush blanket or a towel..

I completely forgot about that concert outfit! The original letter sweater was something else. It was black with gold metal letters. Unless that is the concert one... Or did I tape letters onto a sweater? I can't remember. 😆

I still have my purple s9+ it has a cracked screen and LCD screen has a black spot. I love it so much but don't use it. It sits in a draw while I use my s21 ultra. I can't wait for next year when I can upgrade my phone.
