Watch Princess and the Frog when in New Orleans....that's my girl 👍
I love how the random stranger recognizes you as the goddess you are! ❤️
For reaaaallll!!!!💖😍💖
The only catcalling that will ever be accepted. Compliments.
Ideas for character outfits:
*Joan Holloway (Mad Men) perhaps in a earlier era. 💋👠
*Wonder Women in 1940s 💥
*Belle as a more historically accurate dress, if the pattern or silhouette isn't too tricky. 💛📚
*Mabel Pines as a 1960s dress silhouette. 🌠💖
*Jessica Rabbit in a 1930s gown! ❤🐇
*Harley Quinn in 1970s or 80s ❤♣
*Beatrice (Over The Garden Wall) in a more modern dress. 💙🐦
*The Fairy Godmother from the old Disney Cinderella classic, with the hood and ribbon. 💙✨
*Bill Ciphet as a 1920s suit!! 💛
*Flame Princess from Adventure Time 🔥💛
*Hermione Granger's Yule Ball dress. Blue from original book. 💖📚
*Katniss Everdeen 'girl on fire' dress. 🔥❤
*Princess Yue from Aviatar: The Last Airbender 💧❄
Anna Rose I love Hermonies dress
All of them 😍
@J .S That would be an awesome look. She did have a nice green office type dress
Before putting a spin on Wonder Woman, I'd recommend watching Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (beautiful film)
@@cathrynrosalie1289 I haven't seen any of the DC or Marvel films. Just thought a vintage Wonder Women would be awesome
Your vlogs are amazing! I love the way you film and edit everything.
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Literally the first UA-camr to ever come anywhere near Louisiana
😂😂😂
Grav3yardgirl hasn't been there?
Another UA-camr's going on tour, and he's gonna be in NO too
What about @OrderoftheGoodDeath aka Ask a Mortician aka Caitlin Doughty?
Micah Dugas
Really? I‘m not from the US, but I would sooo go there, if I ever was to visit. It looks amazing 🤩
You should do a video where you have your husband dress vintage
Thought the "Day One" was actually on the headboard at first 😂😂
S. C. Craven Same☺️
New Orleans is LIT!!! you're making me want to go back which I need to. love the vlog 😍😍😍 and thank you for including the tidbit about NOT romanticizing the plantation bc slavery was not that long ago and the good ole days rhetoric Is a very real thing in vintage circles unfortunately 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Yeah I'll never understand that sentiment of "I was born in the wrong era, I wish I lived back then!!" Like nah... Nah you don't
Exactly. I’m a vintage weirdo lady but obviously I’m not an advocate for racism or anything of the sort. I just love how classy everyone looked and like how much simpler their lives were without technology and all our modern nonsense. Like if we could live in a world with all the acceptance and progressivism of today, but with the class of the “good ol’ days”, I’d be so happy. But obviously I can’t change the world all that much, so I make that environment for myself.
conflictpersona8 heyyy .. I went to New Orleans .. check out my vlog & sub please
The awesome thing about living now is that we can still wear or make the clothes from back then (whenever back then may be- from the 1860s to the 1950s), but we have civil rights now.
The clothes are pretty, but they don’t make up for the lack of civil rights. I appreciate being able to vote, I appreciate not having some of my best mates be basically slaves (I live in Australia, so while we had slavery here, it wasn’t the institution it was elsewhere).
And I can have the best of both worlds anyway- all the pretty clothes I like, without the lack of rights for women and people of colour. I definitely wasn’t born in the wrong era. I like this era just fine, thanks!
Thank you for taking us along with you, Rachel. I live far away from the US but I would love to visit NOLA. Your vlogs are truly something else!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
As a fan of yours, I LOVED seeing you explore my city. You hit some good spots! You couldn’t have come at a better time, the weather was perfect. The heat and humidity becomes unbearable in just a few weeks.
It was so so so beautiful out!!! Complete luck 😂😂
as a resident of NOLA i’m so glad you came and seemed to have fun. thank you for capturing my city and all of its beauty so authentically and letting us enjoy it through your eyes ✨
You're titles/text-overlay-thingys are beautiful! Especially the last one 👌
I’m so glad y’all loved it here! It just makes me so happy!! When you leave New Orleans a part of it always stays with you where ever you go! 💛🖤
Yes!!! So true ❤️
Isn’t the architecture to die for!!! Wrought iron... Spanish Moss... and Bonus = Catfish Po’ Boys!!! Dream City💕
This popped up in my recommended.
I live in New Orleans. I love seeing videos like this. Thank you for making this video!
Next time you come to town, I’m a photographer. Let’s link up for a photoshoot!
Omg New Orleans is like stepping back in time, it’s so magical and beautiful there
I've had a pretty horrible day and this video with its aesthetic views and music made me so happy. 10/10 calming effect.
Also day 3 red dead outfit was BEAUTIFUL. After seeing the game and this outfit and Oak Alley... hot dang. It was great.
My mother and I did the same amount of days you did. We went for her 50th birthday. Stayed in the Garden District and saw Ann Rice’s old home and all the locations in her books. I’m still amazed at how much places we packed into our trip including the WWII museum, preservation hall, Louis Armstrong’s home, etc. I’d love to go back, there was something very magical and enchanting about NOLA.
"Hey cutie" *sticks tongue out* I'M DYING THAT'S SO CUTE
Guess I’m old because I associate Oak Alley Plantation with “Interview with the Vampire”! I’ve been in Vacherie several times because I love Oak Alley so much!
Not old, just cool!
I love that your trip videos are like scrapbooks of your adventures that we all get to share!
This was the most gorgeous New Orleans vlog I’ve ever seen. Ugh can’t wait to go one day 🖤
OOF those blisters!! The sacrifices made for vintage fashion. Maybe a future video could be hunting down some pretty walking shoes? If such a thing exists? 😂✌
Hahaha I definitely gotta find some!!
manicmuffin they’re called Doc Martens 😬😬🤗🤗😝😝
Look up Cobb Hill Aubreys :)
I think it was the 1970's there were flexible low heels. I don't know how they worked. I remember watching ads for them on TV and female athletes were wearing them to show how well they held up.
Also, there are special shoes for dancing, like Capisio. They've been making them at least that long. Probably some of them are vintage.
New Orleans looks so fun and scenic, I want to go now😍😭 I adore your outfits! Amazing video as usual🌸
It is so worth a trip! ❤️❤️
ten seconds in and i’m already screaming at how well it represents our city
Wow, you are so good at noticing tiny details and capturing the beauty of places and things. I have been thinking about heading to New Orleans on a vacation since we recently moved to Florida, and now I know it is the stuff of dreams. Thank you for such amazing content!
Oh my god you are amazing. I’m going to take the MCAT in a few days ( which is the medical college admission test) and I am so nervous and it seems like my brain has forgotten how to synthesize serotonin and dopamine but, watching your videos when I’m taking a break is so lovely and makes me so happy and inspires me to stay strong and wait for summer to start dressing vintage again.
I love these blogs! The NYX, and your first day as a youtuber and these ones are my go to watch list before bed I just love the music and all!
as someone who’s lived in the nola area my whole life i LOVE seeing other people visit so i can see it through their eyes. it really is a beautiful city
LOVE that you came to NOLA, HATE that I was actually spending a day at the zoo and walking around New Orleans and didn't even know you were thereee. Would have fan girl'd if I saw you! lol
Same!
alyssa I left NOLA like right before she (probably) went 😭😭. I wish I could’ve met her too
Have I told you lately that I love you? Not just your humour, aesthetic, and quirkiness; not just your Frodo; but also your work/creative endeavours. In your filming, editing, and vlogging style it's obvious that you're passionate about sharing the beauty and the stories that surround you. You're such a beautiful soul, and I'm so thankful for every single little piece of your life that you are brave enough and willing to share with us. You truly make dark days brighter and you inspire me (and I'm sure many others) to be the person I want to be, and to do the things I want to do. So thank you. I know I'm a complete stranger to you, but to me you have become a friend. And one whose wellbeing and happiness I care about. Your videos have helped me laugh through hard times and brought back color in elements of my life that had long gone grey. So when I say thank you, I truly mean thank you. You'll never understand the magnitude of appreciation I have for you. And I know I'm starting to sound a little bit like a crazy fan. But I know that in a job like your's it can be hard to focus on the people outside of the numbers. And sometimes the negative or criticizing comments can be the loudest in the room. But they are far outnumbered by people like me. People that understand and have empathy for the fact that you are a fellow human being. People that are excited to click on your videos, regardless of content, because we simply get to see you being you. So every time you wonder if keeping up with this channel is the right thing to do, or if it's worth it, think of the people like me. I swear I'm not a crazy stalker or anything, I'm just a person whose life you've changed for the better. I've been very sick for a very long time, and you've helped bring life, and fight, and humor, and beauty, and creativity, and a passion for fashion back into my once hopeless life. And the entire time you had no idea. And, out of over 158 thousand people, I can't be the only one. So once again, thank you my friend. You are loved more than you could possibly imagine. 💗
I'm really sorry if that got a little rambly, or a little too personal and mushy. But I needed to say it. 😘
Oh my gosh this seriously means so much to me, thank you so so much you sweet soul 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
@@rachelmaksy : Of course! I'm so happy that you were able to see it! I really hope that it didn't make me sound too fanatic or creapy. Lol. I'm trying to get better at speaking my truths, and I thought it was something that I needed to share. Hopefully it brightens at least one day for you, because you have made bright so many days of mine. So once again, thank you my friend.
💗 ~Erin aka "Bear"
I love New Orleans! Ghost tours, plantations, the food (major heart eyes lmao), all of it!
I diacovered you like 2 days ago, and I automatically was obsessed!! I love your personality! I love your creativity! It's been so difficult for me to find a UA-cam that I can actually love and enjoy cause nowadays everyone follows the same train. But YOU have created your own and I am so happy to have found you! 😭💜💜
Awww thank you so much lovely 😭😭❤️❤️
Also same I literally left my heart in New Orleans ugh ♥️♥️ NOT a fan of the south and was grudging to even go and then WOWW absolutely fell in love!! The architecture the history the culture the music the people the FOOD!!! Incredible, A+ place!
I just love your travel vlogs! They are so fun and well made. I agree, after a few days, you miss home and your pets. Buy still getting to travel a bit is fun. Btw, you two are such a cute couple 😊
Spooky bridge 😂😂😂 of all the things to not like. I loved this though! Your travel blogs are always so beautifully shot.
Haha it's my fear of heights 😎👉
i really love how you guys arent big party animals. Its awesome to see people having fun without getting trashed and sloppy. I love it :)
Oh my gosh Rachel, I am so jealous! I have always wanted to go to New Orleans, those oaks, that brick work the history, the beignets! That green dress you had on! Oh I could almost feel the history! Thank you thank you!
Wonderful film! Adore the style of it and the font of the added captions, nice to see you really appreciating the trip. And the food! New Orleans is definitely on my bucket list now! Xx
i think we can all say that rachels vlogs are the cutest most calming and interesting vlogs to watch
I haven't even watched this yet, but I HAVE to tell you how immensely I appreciate this video! We just moved to Northern Virginia from New Orleans last spring (from NOLA to NOVA, lol), so I am SO stoked to see this video pop up!
❤️❤️😊😊
I’ve gotta say as someone who was born and raised here, you definitely made me want to staycation and explore the beauty. I work in the French quarter and still find myself watching others and wonder what they think when they first come here. Thanks for this vlog.
You’re literally the most funniest cutest vintage girl ever I freaking love u gurl. Oh and about your make it vintage series try and make something form lord of the rings since you love it so much. Love u 💖💖💖 you always make my day
Aww thank you sweetest 😭
The cinnamon topography!!! This video is stunning and I love how your style matches the place so well. Pretty as a gosh darn picture ❤️✨
This was AMAZING!! I love NOLA & I’m so glad you showed off the places you & your husband went! A lot of them were the same places I went - it was so great to see Musical Legends Park and the Steamboat Natchez again!
Just a wonderful little vlog all around!!
& I appreciate your advice on the end (like Lt. Dan’s rule #1). I too always suffer on vacation because we do a TON of walking and I don’t wear comfy, appropriate walking shoes. My feet are actually suffering right now because of some walking I did in my own damn city (curse you Philadelphia & your inconsistent bus schedule!!)
Awe, I just love the "The End" clip. Super vintage, adorable. Omg, and when you were on the boat it reminded me of all those period based movies where the character was arriving by boat to a new country or taking a ferry. (Ex. like in the movie Brooklyn)
I grew up for a time in New Orleans and visit quite a bit so this is feeling very nostalgic!!
I'm glad you loved the magic of New Orleans!!
Okay this has got to be my new favourite video of yours Rachel! 👌😍 Always love your vlogs but New Orleans is just special. It’s a place I’d really like to visit someday too. Currently living in Belgium and struggling with agoraphobia (for which I’m getting help), but a girl can dream and this video is great motivation, so thank you love! 💕
Awww thank you so much lovely ❤️❤️
i’m so proud of my state. louisiana is something magical. my college campus is filled with these beautiful oaks. this video makes me appreciate where i’m from because we’re usually mocked
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As always....amazeballs. i love your vlogs...you manage to capture the atmosphere just right and still be your dorkylovely self. New orleans seems to be just amazing. I hope i can visit this place some time.
This is one of the most senses-pleasing travel vlogs I’ve ever seen
Yay, that was super fun! Thank you for taking us with you! Your content is always fun and unique to watch!
I was in New Orleans in the winter, it’s nice getting see it at a different time of year and reminisce about my trip
I love my city and it makes me so happy to see other people enjoy her❤️
I just love how freaking HAPPY you look in the thumbnail, best thing ever, you are making my day❤
By far one of my most favorite places to visit! Can’t wait to take my husband. I fell in love with NOLA and it’s just magical. Thank you for this!
I'm on a Rachel binge and I REGRET NOTHING these are so beautiful 😭🙏
I've been watching your channel for half a year and I have to say it is so satisfying to watch your average views go up to 45k from 30k since you became a full time youtuber. You totally deserve it!! Keep up the good work, you're amazing ❤❤
I loved literally EVERYTHING in this video so much!! The music, the cinematic shots, heck, the font you used was amazing (that’s the graphic design nerd talking)!! I went to New Orleans last fall and I loved it there, so much history and culture and a LOT of humidity 🤣 but fantastic job and I think this is my new favorite video of yours 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hey it's my hometown! I haven't been back since Katrina but I hope to go back one day soon. ❤
You should come home and visit.
@@catrina6434 I will once I'm done with school I pray
Lovely, as always! My husband and I are the same way about city trips. We're hard core homebodies, and we don't really like planning, so we usually just end up wanting to do the same things we do at home. We like travelling, but we're low key about it.
Omg I knew I was going to love this vlog!! So good!! So many beautiful shots! I love your editing and wow the ending with the window on the plane going down I could watch that a million times that was so beautiful! I've wanted to try gumbo and beignet's ever since seeing the princess and the frog! And now i really want to go to New Orleans because of this vlog haha. Loved it so much!
I was in New Orleans a month ago for spring break, and i spent some time in the French quarter too (Jackson Square, the gumbo shop, Cafe du mondo)! It’s awesome to see that you went there recently! Plus, the production quality of your vlogs is astounding! So beautiful!
I loved this so much, beautifully done! I came to New Orleans in '91 on a whim and got happily stuck. The good, the bad and the stinky, I love it here. And you managed to get in~to Port of Call! I have not been there in years, it is always crowded and often a line to get in, I used to love the burgers.
@LaLa LaNd and the mushrooms
Thanks for sharing that. What fun. An awesome place to visit. I loved the big tree archway that led to the big house😊
Thank you for acknowledging it not being OK to romanticize plantations in a lot of historical sites due to the horrific pass a Black people suffered from really do appreciate it and it’s one of the reasons that I am a loyal subscriber to you ❤️
Your outfits, that editing, that font = perfection 💛
I feel you on the comfy shoes. I made the mistake of wearing a new pair of shoes to an amusement park once. The blisters!!!
I was there 2 months ago!!! I stayed at the Hotel Monteleon and it was my absolutely favorite thing i’ve ever done. my heart belongs there and i left a piece in that city.
Being from New Orleans it’s nice to see my beautiful city from a tourist viewpoint. Great video!!
Ahh I'm so jealous! I was loving all the pictures you were posting on instagram ❤️
❤️❤️❤️
I love New Orleans so much. I went for a spring break trip last year and it was quite the experience but it’s so beautiful and holds a lot of history. ❤️
Yes!! It does have a lot of history and a lot of food and it has a lot of fun things to do. ..... but all said and done....It has too many strip clubs
Just found you today and already I feel where has this channel been hidden I can not get enough of your personality it is infectious I will be binge watching your videos after work 🥰 four videos down so far 😁
Thanks for taking me along! One of my favourite book series takes place in New Orleans, the Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter. Now I'll have some images of the place in my head when I read the next one!
I really loved the airplane window pulling down the end graphic at the end ☺️ I just thought that was adorable. Nice touch!
I went to New Orleans this past summer and I absolutely loved it. Although the humidity almost killed me and I could literally not wear any ounce of makeup ,I still very much enjoyed it. Going on the steamboat and to oak alley was my most favorite. Glad to see one of my fav you tubers got it experience it as well.☺️
Although I’m not into vintage myself you’re content is really entertaining Rachel!
That bridge is like just down the road from me. You are so awesome. I love your fashion sense. Wear what makes you happy. That is something most people from this area love. Just be you
Beautiful video! New Orleans is on the top of my and my husband’s to do list, but travelling to the USA is not a possibility right now, so I’ll just live vicariously through this for the time being!
It is seriously magical ❤️
That was an awesome vlog! Looks like you guys painted the town all colors of Red! Thanks for sharing with us♥
This makes me beyond excited for my US road trip next year! New Orleans is one of the stops and I can’t wait to take in all of the history and jazz culture.
I just got back from my NOLA trip (I loved that first restaurant) and I did so many of the Haunted History tours. I'm already nostalgic for the trip. The cinematography you did was EVERYTHING.
I love how you showed new Orleans in a unique way! I also did a new Orleans vlog on my channel. A part 1 and 2 actually. Glad I am not the only one who truly appreciates the old charm of this city!
I loved every single outfit you wore. And it was so lovely to see that you were having a good time! Loved your video, as always!
too happy y'all got to enjoy some good New Orleans chow! I remember a bit of my soul breaking when I lived in Pennsylvania and went to a restaurant in chestnut hill and had their "New Orleans jambalaya" hahaha now you know the REAL deal! Glad you had fun down here in southern Louisiana!!
To see someone else experience where I live is really nice, and I feel so lucky to live near all of this history. I even used to pass Oak Alley everyday for school, and never have I gone inside. Also, you visited some places I never even knew were in the city, since I normally go only to the Aquarium or Jackson Square for beignets. I'm glad you enjoyed the two days here in the south, maybe if there's a next time, visit Baton Rouge where just before I believe is the Mall of Louisiana, it's fun!
💚 The Princess & the Frog. So New Orleans = New Orleans equals beignets. 😁
Loved it. I’ve been to New Orleans twice but it’s 10 years since my last trip. Your video was so gorgeous, it makes me want to plan another trip.
Thank you love!!
You have me craving to go back! Very well put together! And you matched the feel so well with your outfits!
this is the cutest video ever. everything about it is on point and just perfect 🥰
YOU ARE SO TALENTED! I truly enjoyed this video, thank you for doing what you do and being who you are. It’s great!
oooh New Orleans looks like so much fun! The architecture is gorgeous, the vibe is so contagious. My mood was lifted watching this :D
This is the cutest vlog ever. Your editing skills are everything!!!
Oh wow we just missed each other! I was there Easter weekend with my family. We stayed at the Marriott on Canal street. We tried to go to Cafe de Mundo but it was so packed and we ended up at Cafe Beignets. We waited for an hour for our food but it was definitely worth it! It looks like you had a ball! I’m reliving my time there through your video🥰thank you for sharing🤗
Oh this was so beautiful! I'm so glad you guys got to go, and you vlogged, so you took us all with you!! But your poor feet! 😁 You and your hubby are so adorable together, and you film so gorgeously, thank you for sharing a place I hope for, but may never get to go to.
I could look at clips in this city all day! I actually work in New Orleans Square at Disneyland California, and I'll never get sick at looking at the wrought iron or hearing the sounds of live jazz or even the recordings of Doctor John wafting through the air...
Second day "sweetheart"-blouse + hat = wow!
Ahhhh I loved everything about this! ...just more beautifully created travel cinematography by Rachel! 😍😍 ...and your green dress is 👌🏻👌🏻
This is everything! New Orleans is dreamlike, it's on my bucket list to visit!
Beautiful vlog! I deeply appreciated you showing the slave quarters of Oak Valley, thank you. Thanks for sharing your travels!
10:02 of utter enjoyment. Visually stunning, every shot a wonder...its as though I am there and can smell the breeze and taste all the yummy food. A lovely glimpse into your travels, I hope I get to visit New Orleans someday, but if I don't...I feel as though I have been there now.
Thank you so so much 😭❤️❤️
