The 1920s lion tamer is giving me goth Gaston vibes and I love it
Hahaha OMG YES
I was going to say the same thing lol
No one tames lions like Gaston!
I know shit is gonna get sexy in a weird way when the black wig comes out. That's your party times hat!
Gaston's long lost sister ey
me: has tabs open on etsy for pirate and victorian vibe clothes
rachel: victorian pirate aesthetic
me: well that shivers me timbers
This, now more than ever, makes me long for a princess bride themed lookbook / thread up styling haul!!!
Oh yes, this is an official request now.
Yooooo! Absolutely agree.
I would love that so much!!
Yes please!!!
YESS!!!
When asked to describe your style I reply...
A time traveling Hobbit archaeologist
YES. Agreed 😂
That's the definition of the Seventh Doctor.
that's River Song
Oooh that red vest 😍 my 15-year-old emo self is extremely jealous 😂
Hahahaha right???
Lol yeah I have a jacket like that in brown tho :)
My 19 year old self is extremely jealous
My best friend works for ThredUp and they treat their employees very well. She loves it there. They also pay well.
Aww yay I'm so glad! They're literally the nicest company I've worked with and always let me remain silly and myself in my videos
Just went into my favorites because of Rachel and you. Yay for being ethical employers too!
C L That is very good to know! Thanks to Rachel’s endorsement, I just bought 3 leather belts from ThredUp.
That 1920s lion tamer outfit is a LOOK (and is also giving me such hard early P!ATD vibes)
Omg totally 😂😂😂
PLEASE DO AN OVER THE GARDEN WALL LOOKBOOK especially with fall coming up i'd DIE omg
Over the Garden Wall definitely seems like Rachel’s aesthetic. Fall? Check. Halloween? Check. Vintage? Check. It’s amazing.
Side note: How do you manage to oscillate between HELLA CUTE and BADASS so easily?
That DKNY vest is giving me the Greatest Showman vibessssss.. love it
Greatest showman lookbook
Sarah Hill yesssssss!!!!!!! 💯🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
The 1920s Lion Tamer outfit was my favorite. I wish my regular wardrobe looked like that.
Tim burton has a job for Miss Lion Tamer. Good job girl 💚
I always love how you take your videos to the next level. Other UA-camrs: Here is a thrift haul. You: Here is a thrift haul that is not only themed based, but could also work for cosplay. Oh, and just because I am awesome, I made it theatrical. Rachel, my friend, THIS is why your channel is growing. I know it was a hard decision for you to do UA-cam full time, but look where doing the type of videos you want to, the ones that fulfill you creatively, has gotten you. ❤❤
I'm late to this channel because I just found it, and I'm so glad. I've always enjoyed a "thematic" style since I was a preteen, and it was always so hard finding clothes or style icons I liked, even now when I'm in my twenties.
70's hobbit was definitely my favorite! Who knew that the Shire had a flower power phase? :)
Everyone. I mean hobbits are all about flowers, peace, comfort, indulgence and life away from everything.
I love how Rachel still buys cream/white blouses despite having a million in her wardrobe 😆
Hahaha FOREVERRRR
@@rachelmaksy ... but all the different moods. I do that with white, cream ... and black!
The 1920s coat totally reminds me of Enjolras
(Les Mis fans? Where you at?)
Irina K. My first thought!
glad i’m not the only one 😂
I definitely saw the thumbnail and thought she was doing ABC student closet play.
I just wanted a loaf of bread!!!! 😭😭😭😭
A les Miserables themed lookbook would be so cool to see
What does it take to make a perfect day?
A video from everyone's favorite librarian Hobbit who tames lion pirates on the side. That's what. ❤️
I didn't know it was possible to love Rachel anymore but then that MCR reference...
I always tell people that are into niche styles to learn how to make easily accessible items into their niche. You can turn an outfit from old navy into an alternative style if you understand the silhouette and accessorize properly. This is a great example of it!
I swear every time this lady makes a reference I get a bigger jolt of happiness. Blue's Clues, Princess Bride, and Over the Garden Wall, all within a 15 min video. My smile is so rediculously big right now.
"Swiggity shwo. Shfifty five." Takes me back too. I'm waiting for some Potter Puppet Pals references now....
I love the shirt in the adventure outfit with your skin tone ❤️
Thank you!!! Love me some creams hehe
70's hobbit looks like Belladonna Took as a teenager and I love it!
HIIII I love you all!

OKAY DAS IT I HOPE YOU ENJOY BYEEEE *flails arms*
This was so great! I don't know if you've done an Anne of Green Gables look before, but it would totally suit you! Especially her as a young adult as opposed to her young orphan days.
She reminds me of Anne all the time!
@@auntkaz422 me too
I’ve been thinking that, too.
Could your 1970s Hobbit be any more adorable? No, no she could not.
Super fun idea and an enjoyable watch - thanks!
They're all so cute but the lion tamer is just my cup of tea 🐯 the makeup and hair was to die for.
"But I guess I was just feelin' saucy"... my new excuse for EVERYTHING!
How come the student/librarian outfit makes her look like ron & hermione’s daughter??
Maybe she IS Ron and Hermoine's daughter.
I mean, she already made a video about making her Weasley sweater. I don't think she can make it anymore obvious.
"Ok SO dO 1920's LIon tAMEr" 😂😂😂
These were all so good! I especially love the adventurer/archeologist look!
You are so clearly doing what makes you happy, and that is the most wonderful thing to watch.
My favorite was for sure the lion tamer outfit. would love a makeup tutorial for that look. Could be cool to get whip for cosplay and adventuring. Really looking forward to any Halloween videos. Maybe a recreation of all those pretty vintage Halloween costumes? or spooky vintage DIY's in general
The 1910’s Adventurer and the Pirate were just *Italian chef’s kiss* 💋
The 1920's Lion Tamer was great 😙👌 Could you dress Frodo again? Vintage Frodo is the best kind of Frodo 💗
I love when Rachel does 60s and 70s inspired fashion💕 (srsly it's soo frickin' cute and suits her so well)
I love this concept Rachel, another AMAZING video!! And to all of Rachel’s new subscribers from her last video, welcome to the hilarious creative world of Miss Maksy!!
Loved this so much!! Would you consider doing a part 2? 😃 I need more
omg Rachel that’s one of the most thoughtful and detailed videos I’ve watched lately! keep it up! would love for it to become a series 💛
Yes please!!!
Watch A Closet Historian's Adventure Style Lookbook
This was a very fun concept and video! You did a great job with this 😊
Started looking on my phone. But this felt like a tablet worthy video. Big screen baby 😃
Hehehehhee❤️❤️
I remember my cousin had that 70's blouse back in the 90's. And now her hole house looks like something from the 70's. :D
Loved all the outfits btw. :)
Yaass! Inigo Montoya is also my wardrobe inspiration #goals #inconceivable
Loved the lion tamer and the librarian !!! Great video as per 👌
I think my favorite part of all of your videos are the outtakes at the end! They make me so happy!!
I particularly enjoyed your characterisation of the characters in their reveal.
I mean, I'm an archaeologist and the 1910s adventurer outfit is goals.
i love your 70's looks so much! literally every outfit killed but the lion tamer was the absolute coolest thing ever
Never clicked so fast.♥️ There's always time in my day for your videos :)
❤️❤️😊😊😊
We need a “makeup through the eras” makeup tutorial where you do historically accurate makeup through each decade, I would love that ❤️ and more 1910’s and 30-40’s videos pleaseeee
I was blissfully reminded how transformative hair and make up can be bc you look like a different person in each outfit 😍😍😍
Rachel is one of the few youtubers who I get so excited about uploads. I always wait to watch until I have plenty of time to give her video my full attention.😊
I absolutely LOVE seeing 20s looks that don't include a flapper dress. The whole idea behind this video is so creative, and I really loved the looks you put together, while also re-using thrifted clothing.
Lol how would a flapper dress even work in a lion tamer look though... Wasn't 'Water for Elephants' based in the 20s?
the hobbit outfit is SO cute, you look really pretty with your hair like that and the ears, also the explorer outfit is killer and you look so gorgeous in that
Rachel looks so badass in all of these i just want to say: "i have fallen and i can't get up"
The Victorian Pirate belt is EVERYTHING!!! That baby is like a corset! Also the blouse you used for the adventurer..🤦🏼♀️...I need to own it, something about the drape is 😘 perfection!(You can totally do Sandy from Grease now that you have the pleather pants)!! Loved this idea, loved what you chose, love you & Frodo of course 🤗💜😘!
GIRL that Hobbit look! The ears and the hair and bare feet really brought it all together. Also I literally squealed out loud with excitement when I saw that red vest for the Lion Tamer outfit. It looks so good on you!
This is by far the most clever use of a Thred Up sponsorship I have ever seen, and I LOVE it! You look SO good with the hair and makeup of the 1910s explorer, and the blouse is super duper flattering on you! But seriously, high updos make your neck look so long and graceful
I love how you completely change your look with every outfit, becoming a different person. Thank you for sharing!
Oh my god girl that brown wig really makes your eyes pop!
OMG Rachel! You made me literally LOL So. Many. Times. with this vid! 😂😂😂 Also... your ability to look at modern clothes and turn them into vintage vibes blows me away. That is some creativity I don't posses and I'm in awe of that talent. I truly enjoy your fashion shows, sense of humor, editing skills, and your "realness". PLEASE Keep the vids coming... they are always a great treat at the end of my day ❤
Great job! That pirate shirt was a great choice and that red lion tamer vest can go with so many themes, bell hop, gaston, various circus things, etc. Super great find!! I agree about the green for your hobbit, but the outfit all together was suuuuper cute
The 1920's lion tamer was my favorite! The black wig, the red vest and the makeup looked so good together.
I can’t get over your lion tamer look it is EVERYTHING!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
the lion tamer look was SOO GOOD also I love you for that MCR reference
That adventurer outfit!! 😍 I want to look like that everyday from here on out.
You really know how to put together vintage outfits and the best is U wear them well.
That red vest gives me such black parade/les Mis/afycso vibes and I love it SO much!!!!
I love the shirt from the adventure outfit. The buttons are so cute!
The pirate and adventurer outfits are so great! Obsessed
I got so excited when you referenced schfifty five.... I still think of that every time I come across '55' in life. I'll never recover. Loved the vid!
You looked great in all of the outfits! The adventurer/pirate ones suited you really well.
Oh, you NAILED the 1970's Hobbit. I wasn't expecting to love that combo as much as I did, but it was probably my favorite look! I would love to see another video like this in the future :)
Omg the lion tamer outlook is literally fire!!!! Love!!!!! That vest really sealed it. 🖤🖤🖤🎩🦁
I would love to see how you would do a 20's Gatsby inspired Greek Pantheon... Your owel socks originally inspired me to suggest Athena, but would love to see you do all the gods!
not sure you could really do a 20s Greek goddess look without it just looking 1920s... unless she wore a Fortuny delphos or peplos gown which were basically literally inspired by greek gowns. so i guess im wrong
Outfit three is giving me Jane from Tarzan vibes and IM LIVING
I especially liked the lion tamer and pirate outfits, and it's amazing how hair helps to pass clothing as vintage.
The way you did your makeup in the pirate outfit makes you look so much like Carrie Fisher 😍😍
Stefan voice: “This video has everything! Hauls, reviews, look books, vintage, dogs, discount codes, audience participation, costuming, thrifting...” For real, awesome video, such a fun idea!!
Frodo is just so cute! I love hims big fluffy ears!
Rachel, you look SO GOOD here!!! I can´t stop looking at your skin, you are glowing up!
Princess bride vintage looks!! Please it could literally JUST be Inigo and it would be the greatest thing ever 🤩🤩
shwam, doo, two and heif...what you say!?! I loved this video. The concept and execution were flawless. That red vest is also stunning.
This was SO FUN!!! I loved the Victorian Adventurer so muuuuch!
The hair from the Hobbit outfit makes you look so freaking cuuuuuute. And the natural makeup as well ! I mean, you are already super cute, but it is... A different cuteness ? *hides* But anyway, I would say that the outfits are so on point !
I wanted you to have a “Frodo Lives” button on your vest for the 1970s Hobbit outfit, because that would have been awesome, and so meta it would be 👌🏻
Again! Again! Again! This was Sooooooooo fun. I use thread up all the time and it never occurred to shop for a theme. Loved this.
"I Look like I'm cosplaying a shark"
Shark Week starts the 28th! You're right on time!
OK but the hobbit makeup is so cute??? If you have time, I’d LOVE to watch a tutorial on it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh my god Over the garden wall cosplay would be amazing!!
I was just waiting and hoping for a "the Black Parade" reference, and she delivered flawlessly
For the 1920's Lion Tamer the shirt you wore under the vest is really what makes it for me and takes it over the line to 1920's, that and the wig.
Also the pirate look is amaing!
Soooo in love with all these looks 😻 and validates my need for all the pirate/medieval vintage outfits! ✨
I LOVED this! It's so fun. And love seeing your style come through in different ways! Here I am looking like a greasy potato and you are a vintage time-traveling goddess
LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS VIDEO!!!
AND LOOOVE THE LION TAMER AND PIRATE OUTFITS!!! OMG, PLEASE ALWAYS WEAR THOSE!
Also i INSTANTLY thought MCR BLACK PARADE when i saw the red vest.
Used to b my faaave band back in the day...and i still love em!
I’m in love with those belts and obsessed with that red ‘lion tamer’ vest
You did really well with this challenge. And it’s teaching the rest of us how to be creative with turning regular clothes into costumes. Please do this again
The lion tamer outfit was beaUTIFUL, also that black hair and makeup looked so gorgeous on u like wow
Ahh... these are so good! I love the 1920s lion tamer, you look so cute and spunky!
The 70s hobbit hair and makeup is THE CUTEST THING.
Niiice, just got the notification as I sat down to eat a homemade cookie. Perfect relaxing combo!
JEALOOOUS
