I’m addicted to Triple Play Day, please don’t ever stop. Watching you three make magic brings light to my life. As a 71 year old beginner quilter, you all are such a source of inspiration to me - I want to be you when I grow up! Thank you! ❤
I’ve been quilting since the “evil church ladies” convinced me to quilt with them-I’d sewn most of my own clothes (6’2”) for years. Really cut down on my clothing sewing-except for some for the kids!! I’m also 71!!😊
The Doan girls knocked it out of the park with these beauties, we're sew happy to hear that you enjoyed their latest Triple Play! Thanks for tuning in.
all three of these quilts are stunning. Nat, experience tells me that if you save the cutoffs for a year, you'll come up with something breath taking. You ladies are so talented.
@@paulenesoftley5831I have watched some Australian quilters on UA-cam and they definitely call it a shoofly. Churn dash has a strip of fabric between each corner stone
Thank you all!! I really appreciate the references to adjusting for things that might not be perfect, because it removes the fear of "not being perfect" that is sometimes relayed on other channels. Quilting should be enjoyable and achievable, not causing such grief that one doesn't even want to try.
Natalie, ❤ your quilt. Misty yours was stunning and Jenny you never fail to amaze me with your creative talent. Thank you sweet ladies for sharing your talent and skills
I sew enjoyed this tutorial. The originality of Nathalie and Misty’s quilts just stunned me. But don’t feel left out Jenny, your quilt is also very nice. Thank you ladies, my head is just spinning at the moment thinking of all the possibilities. Love, love, love the video. ❤
Three amazing patterns. You ladies are so clever. Every single triple play day is always successful, showing so many great ideas. Thank you all involved in bringing these videos to help us capable of tackling patterns we would have never thought possible, especially for people like me, who still have to make a full quilt. Watching this video and having almost all I need thanks to MSQC, I am going to make one of Natalie's versions of scattered squares using Good Works fabric. And also using MSQC Rotary Cutter. I have a few cutters, but I could never get an easy cut. ❤🎉
Ladies, you are amazing. You always have such gorgeous quilt patterns. Triple Play day is my favorite day. I always learn so much from you. Because you all have different perspectives and techniques I know that you will teach me in a way that works for my brain. I don’t know which of these stunning quilts to make first. Ah, the joyful dilemma. 💗
As Jenny has always stated, you have to figure out what makes sense to your brain! I’ve been watching her for years and sometimes I try to understand her left handed brain but still have issues with it. Misty always has a beautiful project to present but I have to say my brain always understands Natalie! Her instructions are always detailed and easy to understand! I love them all!❤
I've been looking for a pattern to use up a Morris Meadow layer cake. Jenny's quilt is perfect! But I love all these ideas and will be having a go at Misty's version as I have a ton of solids to use up! Thank you lovely ladies!
Oh my! I do love this block & the three different ways of making three different quilts (& bonus projects)! How amazing are these ladies! Thank you, Jenny, Natalie, Misty, & MSQC! I love these people!🫶🫶🫶🫶
I have made this pattern from your earlier video some years ago. I made it for a dear friend and it went together so easy! I really loved making it. ❤❤ When I make the wonky star legs, I cut the square in half first before I stitch each side on. I will say Misty’s quilt is stunning!
I love Triple Play. It's amazing how dramatically different a single design changes in the hands of different designers. You three have inspired me to look at what I can do with a simple block. I especially like your quilts, like this one, with multiple blocks.
Thank you for your tutorials. I look forward to watching the tutorials every week. I always learn something and the tutorials get me thinking about ways I would make the quilt. I write my notes to try a different way to achieve the same thing, like making floating stars with squares and using the offcuts for HSTs rather than cutting rectangles ad creating more scraps, or using my Tri-Recs ruler instead of rectangles for star legs that aren't wonky or floating. Doctors recommend exercising one's mind to stay alert and fight off dementia; your tutorials are an exercise I enjoy. Again, thank you.
I love love love Natalies quilt in this - I still cannot believe that it is made up of only one block and yet throws up so many different patterns and ways to look at it - it looks like diamonds and jewels to me. The fabric is perfect and not a layer cake I would have chosen but gives a real depth. Perhaps next time I will be courageous and get fabric with a bigger pattern. Extremely clever and well done Natalie. Genius. For me Natalies wins hands down as it is by far the simplest yet looks more complicated.
The Triple plays are my favorite videos. It's so fantastic to see you 3 together to start with and then see how differently you all use an idea/block or theme. I love it!
I've never heard of the 54/40 or fight block- but i love it. I said I'd like to make all three- but I think I'll start with Misty's - I really appreciate a dark/ bold background... As you have all said "it's all in the color placement!"
Love triple plays! All three were great. I usually like Natalie's best, but this time Misty won me over. Wonky stars are one of my favorites, and the bonus reminded me of stained glass. So pretty! Great job, ladies!

Yes!!!!
Well done you for trying out something new, welcome to our happy sewing family flower.x
I too am a beginning quilter, at age 72, I love Triple Play so much!!
Love the 3 different personalities and their different styles.
I’ve been quilting since the “evil church ladies” convinced me to quilt with them-I’d sewn most of my own clothes (6’2”) for years. Really cut down on my clothing sewing-except for some for the kids!! I’m also 71!!😊
Me too!
It's fascinating to see how different these three quilts turned out using the same pattern. Endless possibilities! Thanks, Doan Girls!❤
Isn't that sew cool!?
I love the modern vibe of Natalie's! Misty's is just stunning. I really want to make all 3! They are beautiful.

NEVER DISAPPOINTING!🫶🫶🫶🫶
Wow, all of these quilts turned out so amazing. Misty yours blew me away. I never saw that second block coming until it was finished.
I agree! It was like magic🫶
Misty has by far the prettiest one!
I guess that's depends on the eye that see. 😊
all three of these quilts are stunning. Nat, experience tells me that if you save the cutoffs for a year, you'll come up with something breath taking. You ladies are so talented.
Jenny and her churn dash! That's a shoo fly. She does it every time. 😂
In Australia it’s called churn dash she may have some Aussie in her 😂😂😂
@@paulenesoftley5831 if you call a shoo fly a churn dash, what do you call a churn dash?
@@paulenesoftley5831I have watched some Australian quilters on UA-cam and they definitely call it a shoofly. Churn dash has a strip of fabric between each corner stone
I thought I was the one that was confused 😂 and had to go to Google and look them up and be sure
I wasn't going to say anything but that gave me a chuckle too!
Three beautiful quilts, by three beautiful ladies. ❤
Oh wow! How brilliant. Misty, that black and white block is magical.
I love Fridays and triple play days! Thank you for all you do to help us quilters with your fun and informational tutorials.

I love Nathalies! 🩷🦋its gorgeous pattern! so creative you all! 🎉
My favorite videos are the Triple Play. Three very different quilts with lovely results!
I love all three. This week’s winner is Misty. Color placement sure makes an impact. Well done ladies!!
The colors on this quilt is beautiful. Thank you
Give us all the fall color palettes we're ready for this gorgeous season!
All are beautiful but Misty's is also stunning! Love these
Their all so pretty. I really love the black sections of Misty's. Looks completely different. And the bonus, wow
Isn't that sew cool?! Totally gives the effect of bright stars up against an autumn night sky.
All three of the quilts are beautiful
Should we trim the extra fabric from the back of the star legs?
I would trim it, I was thinking the same thing, but it’s good to know you don’t have to
It's totally up to you. For me, I won't take the time. No quilt police here lol
Always surprised at how different the quilts turn out. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💐💐😀☘️
I've never really been drawn to the 54/40 but these quilts are lovely!
Same here.😊
I think my lifespan just jumped to 139 years old. Love the original 54-40 or fight pattern. Now I have to add all 3 quilts from this Triple Play.
Oh my gosh, I love all 3 patterns, awesome!
Love all 3 quilts! Will be making Natalie’s first.

love seeing you ladies together, so fun. awesome quilts and all so different
This is the first time that I need to make all 3.😂. I have often made one of them but will need to do all3😊
I have done what you might call the original 54-40 and and fight quilt. These 3 are fun additions !!! Like the secondary patterns that show up.
Wow wow oh wow! Love all 3 of them. Super super fun to see them all come together. Thanks so much ladies…3 awesome quilts!
Wow. Misty’s quilt is stunning! You three always do such a great job of mixing it up and creating something new.
One of my favorite Triple Plays! ❤
Haha, that little yawn, Natalie. Then looking around like, "did anyone see that?". Funny 😁
It’s important to get that oxygen to the brain! Right, Natalie🫶
I love this tutorial on this block. The changes are great. Just love it and want to make one my self.
Wow they are all beautiful. I always have a favorite and smiling as I see others do also. But this time I couldn't decide. Great job ladies!
Awesome Gals! Love the interactions between you all. Thanks for such great ideas!

Girls, Girls, what can I say you are all amazing, Thank U

Natalie. That made a very cute table runner
Isn't that runner just the perfect thing to spruce up any space for fall!?

I used the 54-40 or Fight block to make my first quilt when I was 15 years old. I love seeing each of your updated versions of this classic pattern.
I love triple play all three are amazing
WOW! Ladies!! Usually I'm drawn to one of the 3 quilts a little more in the triple play tutorials...this tutorial I'm drawn to all 3 the same!!!❤❤❤
Me too! I always wanted to make the 54/40 quilt, but I like these better!
I like the speedy 8 when I'm making pinwheels
