“I never remember which way that is, until I do it wrong.” ~Jenny Doan, words of wisdom !😂😂 That’s one of the many reasons we love you Jenny, you’re so relateable!😊
Remember the days of hand-drawing (no quilting rulers) and cutting out with scissors (no rotary cutters)? I doubt my hands would still be quilting! Happy Birthday MSQ!
I had the ultimate pleasure of attending Missouri Star’s 16th Birthday Bash! I feel the need to say they are as pleasant in person as on camera! I’m sure we all have our favorite personalities. I absolutely love them all. That being said, Natalie put her arm around me when I shared my journey with my grandma. She smiled and really seemed to listen to me when I told her how much my grandma taught me! Thank you Natalie for allowing me to share my story with you! I’m a Missouri Star girl all the way but Natalie showed me such kindness and compassion. I feel like we may have traveled a similar path!❤
All are beautiful. Enjoy all of you ladies. Thanks so much. Will be praying for you and Ron have a safe journey there and keep you safe while you are away. Will miss you. 🙏❤
i love triple play. i love each of these quilts and now all 3 are on my list and that table runny is so darling. Jenny, I am going to miss you so much, My mom was teaching me how to piece before she passed i got one butterfly top pieced and i was doing small Dresden's. i haven't had the heart to finish either. I started watching you on youtube as well as natalie when she would do one from time to time before the studio. i watched for along time without ever trying to do another quilt. Then Jenny you did you star from the doll baby blanket and it bought a flood of memories and i cried over my grandma and my mom and said to myself you can learn to do this even though both are gone. i watched that video over and over and i made a quilt top out of that block and then i made another type of star top you did, i have to watch it being done i am not sure if that's because that is how i first learned or what but a pattern just makes no sense to me at all. I have to see each step. it's the same with crochet and embroidery. i have to see than do. I thank you ladies for all the ideas the lives the memories and the fun. May your new journey be Blessed Jenny. Natalie It is so so good to see how you have grown into your own, just as i have grown. I still can't make heads or tails of a pattern so as boring as it may be please keep showing the steps. And Misty it is the same for you It is fun to see how you have grown into your own through the years. Misty please show more of the steps on your show, slow down a bit we will watch you don't have to rush. I look forward to the next few years to all the fun projects you ladies will do and the growth you will have and the memories with you both. Well Ladies blessing to our journeys.
I wish I could explain why Triple Play makes me so happy. I'm sewing right now and it’s such a contrast from your’s because I still need to pin and sew a bit slower than you LADIES 😅. YOU LADIES have taught me so much. I look forward to many more years with you! Thank you ❤
Jenny I was giggling when you kept spinning the squares to make the white at top and yellow at bottom. I would have done the same. Missy came and just one movement it was what we were looking for. Fantastic. Beautiful techniques and love the ruler
The Triple Play series just keeps getting better and better!!!!! Makes us want to make every single one of these quilts. I love the BIG 10” squares Natalie used and kept whole. Makes for a quick quilt.
They're all so gorgeous and all have their own special tricks - Jenny's snowballed corners to combine with the sashing, Misty's trick to make a simple four-patch look almost like an on-point churn-dash, and Natalie's use of GIANT blocks (my fave) to get 'er done quickly. I always learn so much from watching, so thank you!
The florabunda fabric was beautiful. Great choice Natalie. Melissa's quilt popped. And Jenny's quilt was a classic. Thank you for sharing your ideas. Happy day.🎉
Happy Birthday indeed!! I love the statement that there are multiple ways of doing things when quilting. I have found over the last couple years since I started quilting that I have to work the way that suits me - I have my mantras, too! I've been sewing probably for 65 years and I love learning new things from you three ladies. So fun.
Just watching this triple play, love all three quilts and i think i will make Natalies quilt this time - it’s spectacular! Great job as always, thanks so very much. ❤❤
Natalie’s is my favorite!!! It’s only because I am a new quilter and larger blocks are easier for me!! I save all of the triple plays to my UA-cam channel!! I really like Jenny’s and Misty’s too. Maybe in a few years after I have masted a few quilts I will go back and try one of theirs. Thanks ladies!! Best of wishes and prayers for you and Ron’s 2 year mission. I am looking forward to seeing Natalie and Misty as the Dynamic Duo in the upcoming tutorials!! Thanks Ladies!! You always rock it!!! 😀💕🌷💐
Not only do you come up with great, interesting blocks but you also feed off each other with lots of encouragement. Have safe journey, Jenny, we will be missing you, wishing you the best time ever!
You 3 are so much fun to watch and the inspiration scale is off the charts. I love what each of you have created and now I want to do all 3. Good thing I have lots of family. Thanks MSQC, you are amazing!!!!
Love each quilt. So many possibilities with the same pattern. Thanks and Happy Birthday Missouri Star. Will miss you Jenny when you're in Africa. God bless your trip.
Oh my goodness I loved this tutorial tonight. I have to say, though that I absolutely loved Natalie’s big blocks. I have to make this, and I absolutely loved the fabric as well.
Happy Birthday Missouri Star and thank you for all the quilt tutorials over the years that I have watched here in Scotland UK. I love triple play it is such a treat for me. loved this Thank you x
Happy Birthday Missouri Star 🌟 🎉 Hope you have an amazing time with Ron. I think we'll be seeing you a lot sooner than 2yrs. With love from Tracy in the UK 🇬🇧
Beautiful quilts! You guys make it look so easy! With 3 people working together you can get a lot done! Will be praying for safe journey to Africa! Exciting and scary at the same time!
Love the three of you very talented ladies. All your quilts are beautiful. Have a safe and happy time Jenny. I'm sure the girls will still keep us quilting 😊
Happy birthday Missouri Star quilt company.! I love this triple play all three of these quotes are beautiful. And I really do like the fabric for these quilts. Thank you and God bless you and have a wonderful weekend. 🎉❤😊
Always a great block to do! I was thinking Natalie's sizes would be great for a baby quilt... maybe 4 together & that's it! The flying geese would be a great idea for a pieced border. I was blown away by Natalie's genius rendition... Great secondary block!! Of course Jenny's will always be my favorite! What a great triple play this month! Sending much love & birthday blessings from South Central Texas! Happy birthday & blessings for many more years to come!! ❤💕🧵
Natalie’s quilt would be so perfect for a layer cake that had a big beautiful print that you wanted to show off! Plus, Big blocks! So fast! Thanks, Natalie! ❤
I just sent off my order that includes all three digital patterns (and some fabric, too!). I’d love to visit Hamilton but it’s not in the stars to come in person so I always look forward to all of you every week. I will miss Jenny but I’m sure we will be hearing from her often with many interesting things to hear about! The Dynamic Duo will be so much fun, too!😃😃👍👍
READ ME READ ME! 🤪 Ladies, I would love to see a video that instead of producing a quilt, focuses on the tricks, short cuts, etc you use. In this video I have imagined, you would define and demonstrate: snowballing, half square triangles, quarter square triangles, when/how to use slotted trimmers, and other terms/processes/shortcuts you often refer to during video tutorials. As a beginner I need a video like this for reference when I am doing these processes for the first few times until I master them. BTW, thank you for what you do. Love you all.
Beautiful Ones! Jenny, Natalie and Misty :) Everything you touch is beautiful! Thank you for sharing 16 years with us and Happiest Birthday Missouri Star! We wish you every joy as you and Ron go forth to love and lift the beautiful people of West Africa! With our love, may the Lord's choicest blessings be with you!
I made a kings crown with a teeny shoe fly in the sashing also. But I finished out the shoe fly blocks all the way out into the border. A challenge but it worked out great.
I LOVE stars and all of these projects have inspired me !! Can’t wait to give them a try! I just returned from Birthday Bash and I think this was the best one ever!! I really enjoyed joyed seeing so many customers in their 50’s attire! It made the event fun and festive! Hoping the DynamicDuo (Natalie and Misty) will continue with tutorials while Jenny and Ron are on their mission trip!💕💕
My favorite thing from Missouri Star is Triple Play! Love the ladies and the quilts! Thanks for so much enjoyment over the years.
Love everything you all do!
I feel the same way. I like to see how they each do it a little different.
😊
Love the triple play! I have been a fan for years❤
Agree!
Love the star. Will miss you, Jenny. Pray to Lord will keep you and Ron safe on your mission!!!
Boy do I remember those days! My fingers are beginning to give me trouble with the fine motor skills I used to have - kind of bad for hand appliqué!!!
Don't forget we used those crooked yard sticks from the hardware store for drawing lines and cereal box cardboard to make patterns.
I love Natalie's quilt. Can't wait to see more
Would work great for QAYG -- making alternating blocks into columns.

The Triple Play series just keeps getting better and better!!!!! Makes us want to make every single one of these quilts. I love the BIG 10” squares Natalie used and kept whole. Makes for a quick quilt.
Enjoyed the lesson thank you. God bless you all.
God's blessings for you and Ron on your mission work. You will be missed but doing God's work is so fullfilling.
They're all so gorgeous and all have their own special tricks - Jenny's snowballed corners to combine with the sashing, Misty's trick to make a simple four-patch look almost like an on-point churn-dash, and Natalie's use of GIANT blocks (my fave) to get 'er done quickly. All three quilts are beautiful. The table runner is so bright and cheery. Happy Birthday to MSQC. Vaya con Dias, Jenny and Ron.
Love all three versions. I will miss Triple Play. Thanks for all the inspiration.
All 3 quilts are beautiful, but when I saw Misty's quilt I literally gasped out loud! GORGEOUS!
Natalie, I love a pattern that showcases fabrics that we don't want to cut up.
Natalie, you could also use the star legs (with the two colour legs) in the flying geese squares. This would give a little more diversity in colours.
Natalie’s is my favorite!!! It’s only because I am a new quilter and larger blocks are easier for me!! I save all of the triple plays to my UA-cam channel!! I really like Jenny’s and Misty’s too. Misty’s quilt reminds me of northern lights!
I made a kings crown with a teeny shoe fly in the sashing also. But I finished out the shoe fly blocks all the way out into the border. A challenge but it worked out great.
