What a vlog Lynn. I worked in the NHS for 32 years and the best advice is from patients who have experienced these health problems. They know what it feels like to live with these issues and how it effects their physical and mental health. You may not realise it but through the way that you have presented this vlog, there are people who are suffering the symptoms you had and are now thinking about seeking help. You explained the treatment in such a way that it took the fear of the unknown out of equation. Well done and so many thanks for sharing xx
Aw thank you so much for saying that, I hope I did because the fear is the worst thing, it stops people going to the GP, so if my vlog has encouraged 1 person to seek help, job done, us ladies should all be helping each other, and hopefully have a laugh along the way 😂❤️❤️❤️
Your health issues saddened me Lynne, as I wasn't aware that your condition was so bad... you've really been up against it, haven't you? But you're still smiling and having a laugh. You will come out the other side, and you will go dancing again, I have no doubt. You brought a tear to my eye when you were talking about your mum, my mother had dementia also, and I miss her everyday... I think all of us whose mothers' have died miss them. Anyway, well done for giving up the weed... 43 years for me, and I never think about it now... it's like another person and not me! Thanks for sharing, I'm sure you will have helped others with the same symptoms ❤❤❤❤❤
What a fantastic honest video. I have gained 10 kg since retiring. Used to walk about 7 to 10 kilometres a day. Stopped smoking too. I will also try the walking. Lynn you’ve probably just inspired hundreds of people. Thanks for sharing your life experiences. Take care.
Wow thank you Pam, oh I’ll be so glad if I’ve inspired you to start walking again, it’s starting that’s the hardest, I’ve made myself a chart, I tick off every day, it sounds silly, but it helps me to keep going, I don’t want a space with no tick in it lol 😂❤️
Lynn, what a fantastic vlog, now I'm 69 I retired 2 maths ago, I was a cleaner in a shopping centre, I walked 10 klms over 5 hr shifts 5 days a week, now I'm retirered, not much walking, I've gained 10kg, omg!! So yes walking keeps the weight off and keeps you fit, I might join you on yr quest, I'll do it too, I will start tomorrow, go us!! Mor please
I’m 76 and live in Toronto Canada. I walk most days. If it’s snowing I do the treadmill. I really enjoy your vlogs. Keep them coming Lynn. You have quickly become a favourite. And you’re very professional already, even though you just started. I’m originally from England and it’s like being over home listening to your accent. Keep up the walking…💃🏻
Oh Lynn I know how you feel. This March just gone I had a heart attack I am same age as you but i was fit, I ran three days a week and did strength training twice a week. (I have my own gym in the garden) It came as a shock to everyone who knows me. Hence the bruising with the meds. I was studying to be a personal trainer too but have put that on hold. I walk now briskly two miles every day with view to return to running as soon as i am able. I have a treadmill and i use it when it is raining outside. I reckon you will lose some weight and the changes you are making to your diet will help a lot ,diets are fad things, it is changing just one or two things when you feel you can that makes it a lifestyle change and you will stick to it more easily. Good luck and if you need any advice i am here x I know you said you hate gyms and i am the same but strength training is using little weights to help challenge your muscles and turn the fat into muscle, you can use them on the treadmill as you walk. I bet you feel marvellous in no time and it was that feeling that was and still is my motivation.
Hi Julie, your story is so very sad, all that fitness and then you suffer a heart attack, it’s just not fair is it. You sound like such a positive person, and very determined to get back to good health. It sounds like you’re well on your way too. I will take your advice and try and do some strength training whilst I’m on the treadmill, my balance isn’t good so I’ll have to do one side at a time, so that I can hold on with one hand. I have one or two other health things going on, but I will definitely try and up my game. Thank you for telling me about yourself Julie… take care and keep in touch with me please 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Lynn excersise will work. I listened to all your video very interesting. I'm 75yrs next month didn't know l had a blocked artery 98% blocked in my main artery. Had a stent put in. Thank God they found it back in March. I did 8wks of rehabilitation at a hospital. It was fantastic much like a gym. Now I'm still continuing to go once a week for the gym. Loving it. I lost 5kgs in that time Down to 62kgs walking will help. I was so interested in what you said about your legs, mine ache as well. Thanks heaps Lynn love your videos ❤❤
Oh wow Marylin, yes you were very lucky, as was I. My carotid was the same, and the one in my tummy], cholesterol that caused it in my case. Well done on the weight loss, that’s amazing, hope I manage it too xxx
Loving your channel. I’m a Walker, 68, I used be a real gym bunny but Covid changed everything and then health issues meant I was uncomfortable going back to the gym. I do walk outdoors but mostly I walk around my house. Up and down the stairs, Through the lounge around the kitchen and I walk a minimum of 10,000 steps every day. That’s about 90 minutes every day, In chunks of a few thousand steps starting when I get up in a morning. I just want to tell folks that You do not need a treadmill. Good luck with the vascular issues, lots of people struggle to understand why they need to do something that is so painful. The benefits of walking through the pain barrier are worth it.
You are so right, I used to try and walk up and down my drive, but because there’s a slight incline, it killed me, and I gave it up. As you say, treadmills aren’t necessary for everyone, but it was the best solution for me. I think sometimes it’s all too easy to slip into sitting down for long periods, so I try to move around more these days 🥰🥰🥰
I also wear a Fitbit. I look and think I’m ready to stop but can find that I’ve walked 8,000 steps, only 10 more minutes and I’ve done it and carry on and walk a little faster to meet that 10 minute target. Build it up Lynn steady and slowly. Every time I put the kettle on, I walk until it boils. You soon reach your target without even noticing. As a side note I’m addicted to Temu. Loving the hauls 😀😃
@@EllenJump-o9o oh I’m going to start wearing mine as well, I forget I have it. And I’m going to walk when the kettles on, what a fab idea…. Also watch out, I have another couple of Temu hauls coming up, a fashion one with try on, and a mixed one ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness Lynn, what a time you’ve had of it! I’m slowly catching up with all your video’s, I was in the US for eight months, so never seen a lot of them. You are so very lucky that you were able to get all this sorted out! You’ve done really well on your weight loss/health plan. I used to go walking up the hills where I stay, I also hiked up Ben Nevis with my sister for charity. It’s great! It makes you feel alive and healthy, not only in the body but in the mind as well. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re doing marvellously well. Dementia is a terrible disease, both my aunts had it before they died, it’s very sad seeing them with this, when you think what they were like before the dementia, so sad 😢 You must’ve been heartbroken seeing your mum with this, even although she was 92, it’s still your mum and nobody should have to go through that. I also used to smoke and gave up, the best thing I ever did. Not only for my health but for my bank balance too! 😂 Anyway Lynn, well done again, I wish you a very long and happy life. ❤
Aw thank you Diane. It’s been a difficult few years to be sure, and still ongoing, but at least I’m having investigations, some people aren’t that lucky. I’ve recently fell off the band wagon, but I’m back on it now, I put some weight back on, but I’ll get rid of it soon. My daughter does a lot of hill and mountain walking, she loves it. Oh dementia, and Alzheimer’s is the cruellest disease I know, absolutely heartbreaking to watch it take your loved one piece by piece till there’s nothing left. Well done on the giving up smoking, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done as well. I thoroughly enjoyed smoking if I’m honest, but my health was the reason I gave up, and I’ve never looked back. I saved the money in a jar, and treat myself to a holiday, as a kind of incentive. Thank you so much for this lovely message Diane, and I wish you the same lovely lady, so take care and enjoy every moment that you can….. 🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️
My ex-husband had intermittent claudication which meant he could only walk so far an he would have to stop, then he could walk again for a bit an then would have to stop. He went in for an operation to but stents in his legs but on opening him up they found his aorta was completely blocked an was crumbling as they touched it, they had to replace the aorta with what looks like an old fashioned telephone wire they had to run it down his left side. He was marvellous after the operation could return to work. So glad every is good with you now love your vlogs x
Oh Denise, I feel his pain, my leg was shocking before I had the stent put in, and I put up with it because the drs didn’t seem to be taking me serious, it was only after I had a mini stroke the they started to listen, the artery to my leg was nearly completely blocked when they put the stent in, it’s ridiculous really. I’m so glad they sorted it out for him, it’s just a shame that we have to suffer for so long before anything is done. Anyway, I can’t run a marathon, but I can certainly walk for quite a way before it hurts so all is good. Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Lynn for being so open and honest. Didn’t know arteries in all parts of the body could become blocked, thought it was just ones around the heart. I start off thinking of walking every day but the weather and laziness gets in the way. My husband got rid of the treadmill for a static exercise bike, which I find uncomfortable. Im liable to fall over these days, my balance is not good, puts me off walking around where i live as the pavement is uneven. Years ago i used to leave early for work, stopping off at the shopping mall. It’s was great, smooth surface and no worries if it was cold or wet.
I know, it’s surprising, and drs tend not to think of a blocked artery when you complain of achy legs, they always assume it’s coming from your back, i knew it was blocked arteries, but how can you tell your dr he’s wrong. Walking is the best thing I can do for my legs, hence the treadmill, I would never think to go for a walk by myself, it just wouldn’t happen, so the treadmill in the garage works for me. I hope you find a way that suits you Chrissie, our health is so important ❤️
great vlog Lynn, this growing old malarkey isn't for the faint hearted, just turned 61 iv already had a stroke, cataracts and diabetes, I tried walking more often but i live in Sheffield and round every corner is a hill which seems like a mountain to me, but we wont be beaten, My love was ballroom and Latin dancing from being a little girl ,I hope we can all get a bit healthier with more exercise, look forward to your update
Flippin ek Julie, sounds like you’ve had it tough, I have glaucoma, a small cataract in one eye, had a mini stroke, dropping to bits really lol 😂 but we carry on and do the best we can don’t we…. Let’s all try and get a bit fitter 🥰
Oh Lynn, I feel awful as I mentioned recently mid August 2024 about you showing your legs more as they looked great, and I have only just watched this vlog to hear about your health problems some months ago. I will look at the follow up to see how you got on with the treatment and the treadmill, and also the garage declutter! You mentioned your mother having dementia but still remembering the tapping of the dance beat. Sad but bringing a smile. I remember my mother was the same, and before she lost recognition of me and my daughter and was bedridden, whenever my daughter visited her from university, she would reach for her handbag (not there) to give her some money. She had always done that when she saw her as a child and teenager. We both have smiled at that memory, not sad but somewhat amusing as you remember your memory. Continue to make us smile as you do it so well.
Oh Hazel, please don’t feel awful, I didn’t think twice about it, I realise that people don’t know things about me so don’t ever worry. I had a stent fitted in my groin, and my left leg is absolutely fine now, but my right leg is terrible, but they say it’s not the same problem, so I’m awaiting the results of an MRI, but I’m still trying to use the treadmill when I can. You will know exactly what I’m talking about then with our mums, it’s the cruelest condition ever, it steals your mum piece by piece, and when Covid hit, I never got to see her for 2 years, by which time a lot of the recognition had gone. But I swear she knew me just before she passed. I do hope they find some kind of treatment for it soon, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. But yes we have lots of happy memories to look back on don’t we. Have a lovely week, and take care lovely lady ❤️🌹❤️
Best of luck on your goals! I turned 70 this week. We have to keep moving~I have been "active" all my life and I think it makes a difference!! God Bless you!
Hi Lynn, really really love your chats and getting to know you more. I feel its like chatting to a dear friend. Looking forward to your future vlogs xx
Hi I walk everyday if I can , when you get into a routine you can’t do without walking , it has a lot of good effects ,the fresh air, and excersise does you good , lifts your mood and I always feel better after. So keep walking you will feel the benefits , yeah always try to watch what I eat too,but it’s hard when you like baking ect good luck
I have friends and family that love walking, some friends are in a walking group. I’m limited to the treadmill, but it works for me. I struggle with the sweet tooth, but I just keep plodding on lol ❤️🌹❤️
Hiya Lynn, you're a joy to listen to whatever the topic, thanks for sharing what's been going on with you and for the inspiration to get walking more. You're doing great with your walking goals and you look fabulous, keep going❤ I used to be in a couple of walking groups, did yoga and Zumba but I've been a full time carer for my 92 yr old dad for the last seven years ( he lives with us)and between that, a dodgy back and the world going upside down the last few yrs with the pandemic I've been in hibernation mode and become a bit of a feral recluse🤭 I'm trying to get fitter and get moving more, it's now or never. Husband was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis Feb this yr so we're both looking to try to keep as well as we can moving forward. We both turned 60 this year. Ok I've rambled on enough for now, if you've not fallen asleep reading this, have a great rest of the week lovely. x🥰🍂
Hiya Cher, thank you so much. Oh it takes over your life doesn’t it, caring for your parents, I had the same with my mum, she never lived with me, but I went to her house every day from about 8am till early evening, she had Alzheimer’s, set fire to her house and all sorts. I know how hard it is….I was the same as you, only going out for shopping after the pandemic, I actually like lockdown, it gave me permission in a way, to stay home. I love my home, and it’s my favourite place to be still. So the treadmill is my way of exercising without the stress of going out. But that’s more difficult for you under the circumstances. You are an angel for looking after your dad, when I had to eventually take mum to a care home, for her own safety, and my sanity, I got a job there to make sure she was looked after properly, and I walked miles, every shift I did. Kept me fit, but my legs hurt so much I had to stop after 5 yrs. so anyway I’m rambling now, look after yourself, because you matter too ❤️❤️❤️
@@Nanna-Mawww thanks so much Lynn for your kind words, I'm so sorry for all you went through with your mum and can only imagine how hard and exhausting it must have been for you, so stressful. Lots of love to you and yours and thank you for being here, so happy to see your channel growing and appreciate all the time and effort it takes to make videos xx🤗❤️
Hi Lynn, 👋 what a lovely interesting video, thoroughly enjoyed listening to your story, thank you for sharing with us. You have such a lovely calming voice, I'm glad you're getting alot better and got yourself a treadmill, good for you😊 I also don't like going to the gym, I like to walk but it's way too hot in my country to go for walks, I miss the UK for this reason, great country side, green hills, lakes beautiful scenery and the fresh winds 😅 rain, I don't mind any of that, I love it,😀 so a treadmill would be a good idea, I think I will give it a go, you have inspired me 😜 I can I just say you look fabulous for your age, you don't look anywhere near 68 😮
Hi there, thank you so much for the lovely comments, if you do get one, let me know, I’d love to hear how you get on with it, we could compare notes 🤗 xxx
Thank you so much for telling us about yourself. I’m 69 and thinking about doing the carnivore diet. I’ve read such wonderful things about it. But I just don’t know. It’s the starting of things that’s so hard. Don’t you think? And by the way, you look great for your age!! So pretty! Loved this video!!
Mmmm Jeanie, I’ve never heard of that one….you’ll have to let me know if it works, and if you feel healthier too x good luck with it, maybe do it with me, you do carnivore, and I’ll walk 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Lynn. Thank you for your story. I have Polymyalgia which gives me pain in my legs and I agree it does change your life. 😢. Well done for getting your treadmill and I admire your efforts. Looking forward to the garage clearout video. As I’ve said before you’re a breath of fresh air. Keep going. 👏👏👏
Hi Gillian, I’m sorry to hear that. It’s terrible when your legs hurt. I quite enjoy the treadmill, my leg hurts but I keep going. I’m a 3rd the way through my challenge, so fingers crossed it’s doing something. Oh wait till you see the mess 🙈 I’m embarrassed 😳❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Lynn. Be encouraged - weight control is very possible with regular exercise. I walk and do light workouts daily at home. I've never been interested in the gym scene. I related to your comments on that. Not dieting is wise. Baking, sharing what you bake and making healthy diet choices can go together: I've achieved results (10 kgs dropped slowly) with a "little-by-little, bit-by-bit" approach and that's what makes a good habit stick. All the best to you.🥀🌺🌻(Liked the music on your vlog!)
Thank you very much Helen, that’s so inspirational, I like the little by little, and bit by bit, I think you’re absolutely bob on with that advice. I will definitely keep it up, I’m determined. I’m so happy for you, 10kg is a lot, I’m not in any hurry, just want to help myself as much as I can. I feel that if the consultant is good enough to do his bit, I should be respectful and do mine… so, onwards and upwards ❤️❤️❤️
Hy Lynn it was really interesting listening to your story thankyou for sharing that 😊 I'm nearly 63 and worked all my life but had to finish work 2 years ago and I was devastated because I've always worked. I've got spinal stenosis which affects my legs when walking I'm waiting on an operation but with the way the nhs is at the moment it could be a while .I've put in weight with coming out of work and like you hate the gym lol .when you get to a certain age we have to look after ourselves don't we 😳 .I love watching your videos it's like I'm sat listen to a friend with my brew 😊 you take care lovely Lynn and loik forward to your next one 🥰 xx
Oh thank you so much for the lovely comments, so nice of you. I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis, sounds like a major operation you’re having there. It’ll all be worth it though to get your legs pain free. I feel like I’m talking to friends when I’m filming, it’s strange, normally I’m quite shy. You wouldn’t think so but it’s true 🥰🥰🥰
Great video well done, you seem really determined. I am afraid I don't walk a lot either, arthritis is my problem I have had one total knee replacement and the other is bad. You've motivated me to get on my static bike and follow your daily 20 minutes on that, thanks for the inspiration xxx
Hi Lynn, what a helpful and informative video. The previous one with the make up was fabulous and you did a really good job. You looked like a film star today!! I was deeply engrossed in your health chat when a man’s voice cut across my earphones and asked if I was available to take a call. Well that’s a new one on me!!!! Something I have never experienced before😅 well done for speaking out about your condition, I am sure it will spur a lot of ladies on to walk or exercise a little more. I don’t walk but have lost two stone since Easter. As a result my bp is much better so I guess that’s a positive. Good luck with your treadmill endeavours
Aw thank you so much Anni, I wonder who the man was, it definitely wasn’t someone from this end lol xx well done on the weight loss too. I do hope I can inspire anyone that wants to get a little bit fitter ❤️❤️❤️
Oh Lynn your such a tonic can you just come on Everyday please 😂 it really is like having your friend round for go chat . Honestly enjoy listening to you and your accent , and certain looks you give to the camera ..” so I thought about getting a treadmill hmm “ and you look at camera , it’s that knowing look hmm , just brilliant. Looking for to your next uploads…don’t mind what they are lol you’d be great at reading stories or even better remember agony aunt letters they use to do ( maybe they still do I don’t know …now that’s food for thought eh lol . Keep up your treadmill and good on ya … take care 🌻 xx
Ahhh nanny, your so lovely. I don’t even know I’m doing it nanny till I watch it back, I make myself laugh sometimes, isn’t it strange how we see ourselves so much different than the camera does. I’m really, really enjoying myself nanny xxx 🥰
Lynn Love you even more . Sat here with a glass of red and loved to hear your story . My best friend had the same condition as you with her leg/s. She couldn’t do any walking and your right it stops you living your life. Glad you are getting it sorted . My friend had other health issues and she sadly died in May . Please look after yourself and keep walking ok . Love listening to you and feel it’s like listening to a friend . Ps Made the lemon drizzle cake and it was lovely xx take care xx
Oh Trish, I’m so sorry about your friend, it’s sad when your health deteriorates. I will definitely keep walking now albeit in the garage. Its so nice that you feel I’m like a friend, that’s my purpose on UA-cam, and what I want for my channel. Oh you’ve done it, I want a slice of lemon drizzle now 🙈 xx
Well Lynn, what a lovely honest video, thank you. Of course I am so very sorry to hear what has been going on for you but so very pleased that you have been listened to and that you have/are receiving the treatment that you need. I also don't like gyms, but each to their own. I live in a village in the south of England but have to say I haven't had to think about my safety so do walking on a daily basis. We have our bikes in Suffolk so do at least three reasonably long bike rides a week, stopping at a pub of course for lunch, it would be rude not to 😂. I have cut out the snacking, I think I started again because of having the grandkids. Anyway all is going in the right direction. I use light weights for side and front arm lights plus for sit ups. I do stretching which is advised and do aerobics with a dvd when I feel like it. Health is the number one thing for me so I just do what I can when I can and don't beat myself up about it, life's too short. Good luck with everything 👍, know you've got this. Can't wait for the clearing out of the garage. I'm the clear out queen 🤣😜😂 Brian always says he's going to hire me out. Take great care Lynn, wishing you all the luck in the world with your health and fitness ❤x
Hi Linda, thank you. It’s took a while, but I got there in the end. How lovely that you feel safe and secure where you live. I live in a village, but we’ve had quite serious crimes committed not too far away, and it just makes me very nervous. Of course it would be extremely rude to pass by and not call in to have a cheeky little drink lol x oh if I’d have known that I’d have hired you myself haha x have a glass of wine when you watch, it might stress you out it’s that bad. We’ve worked solid on this house since the beginning of lockdown, done it all ourselves, in between working, prior to retiring, doing a complete damp course in my daughters house, rewire , plaster, redecorate, new everything, and a mountain of more work here. So you can imagine the rubbish, everyone’s bits and bobs etc etc, a total disgrace, but we’ve done it. I feel like a massive weights been lifted, omg I’m rambling lol….take care sweet lady xxx
Your house looks beautiful, such good taste 😊. Yes helping family and working and having parents and their needs is certainly full on, but dearest Lynn you are doing just great. Keep being you, it's really not a rehearsal. It's so wonderful how you seem to of motivated so many ladies already, Lynn The Motivator, your new title 👍❤️. I will watch the decluttering with interest 😂😜🤣. So pleased it's now been done, you must be so thrilled, it always feels like a load has been lifted. Sorry to hear about the crime nearby but pleased you've got a treadmill, as you say you can do this in any weather, result. I've lost one pound in my first week. Use the weights for strength, which apparently is important. I've found a lovely lady on UA-cam who does short videos of fitness so do them now and again which I've been enjoying. Good luck with everything. We're all routing for you, Linda ❤️
Thank you Lyn. Have recently found you and think your channel is s great. What a heartfelt vlog. Hope you've had results in with the walking or another stent put in.
Oh that’s nice Shirley, welcome, it’s nice that you’re here. I see you’ve watched an oldish video, I wanted to share this because it might help someone go to the gp if they’re suffering the same symptoms, we ladies often just put up with aches and pains don’t we ❤️🌹❤️
What a lovely video Lynn, you certainly have been through it and yet you keep smiling. I have a treadmill used to use it quite a lot but at 89 my days with the treadmill are over. I am not too good with my balance and have always been afraid of falling over so I now walk with a stick.❤️❤️❤️
Oh I’m so sorry to hear that Maureen, but I think you are wise not to go on the treadmill nowadays, and I’m sure the stick gives you more confidence. Falls as we get older cause so many problems, so keep safe lovely lady ❤️🌹❤️
I walk my dog an hour a day but can’t say it’s helped with weight loss but keeps me fit at 70. I love a trier and your def one of those. Good luck with your treadmill. I’ve subscribed today 👍
Aw thank you so much for subscribing Carol, I’m over the moon about that. The main reason- I’m walking is to improve the circulation in my legs, I’m just interested to see if going from no walking, to 30 mins a day, has any effect on my weight or my measurements. We will see ❤️
In my area we have 'Move it or Lose it' exercise classes for over 60s. They're a combo of some seated and some standing routines. Great fun. I'd say we are mostly late 60s to early 80s with a variety of age related health issues! My ma in law had intermittent claudication back in the day. Unfortunately she passed away from cancer (unrelated) before she was able to have the procedure she needed. It did indeed restrict her life and she was VERY resistant to using a wheelchair!
We have classes nearby, I’ve never heard of that one though, it sounds good. Oh what a shame for your Ma in law, my left leg is so much better, but apparently my right leg is caused by something completely different, so awaiting tests for that. But that procedure has improved my life no end. ❤️❤️❤️
Loved this vlog. You are so natural. Watched you a couple of times and this one was a decider. I am not subscribed to many but here we go. You're on my short list. Smoked over fifty years and now stopped ten tears next month. Haven't missed it for one day. Don't know where the saved money has gone though.
Aw Veronica, thank you for putting me on your short list, that’s so nice of you. I gave up on September the 14th 2014 so around about the same time then and it’s one of the best thing’s I’ve ever done, I do occasionally get that thing where you say, “ could just smoke a cigarette “ but only for a second. I would never never ever have another. As for the money, well if you keep watching my videos you will know where mines gone hahaha. Anyway it’s very nice to meet you ❤️
Thanks Lynne, even though it had serious content, you still made me smile when talking about dancing with your good leg. I hope they can sort out your other leg very soon. Good luck with your 20 minute a day walking challenge xx
Ah thank you Beryl, I don’t mind you laughing lol it’s the best medicine ever, I’m just waiting for a scan on my back now so hopefully it’ll get sorted out soon ❤️🌹❤️
Lynn, I could listen to you all night and your facial expressions make me smile. Like a few comments you have a lovely calming voice. Interesting about you legs, I have the same problem but never been checked for blocked arteries but them maybe I haven’t explained how bad I am to the doctor, be worth letting him/her know if I need to go for something else, or I might just make an appointment to see what they say. I have osteoarthritis and currently trying to lose weight to get to the correct BMI that my surgeon will accept to be put on the waiting list.I will be 72 on 10 September and I never retired until 4 years ago from NHS where I could clock up 12000 steps no problem in work. You have just given me the push I need to get off my bum and do something about it. You look much much younger than your age, congrats on reaching over 2000 ❤ Lynn, I got an appointment with doc today, 29th Aug. Got bloods taken and she has requested an appointment for an ECG, I will let you know how I get on xxx
Jean, your like me, I worked for NHS for years and LCC, walked miles…maybe I wore my legs out lol, but seriously, please go get checked out, ask your GP to test the pulse in your legs, do your feet get cold? I’m really happy that your inspired to do something, do it with me and we can motivate each other… 🥰
Very honest and interesting Lynn. Funny you should talk about a treadmill! I just ordered one,we live in a small retirement flat, so I had to buy a a smaller , folding one. I need to walk more. A few weeks ago, I(I’m also 67), I was diagnosed with quite a rare brain condition, so I have to exercise gently, so my blood pressure doesn’t spike 😳I can’t walk far where we live,it’s sooo hilly, so that’s out🤣, hence the treadmill😃 Good luck with your exercising and 🫰🏻for getting your leg done.
Oh have you Susan, sounds like you have a good one, mine will fit underneath a desk or bed, but you have to take the handle off, I’m a bit disappointed with it for that reason, but I was so desperate to get going I kept it. I’m so sorry to hear about your condition, and I hope all goes well with the treadmill. We have to keep going don’t we ❤️❤️
Hi Lynn, thanks for sharing your health problems and I hope things get sorted with your right leg soon…..you’ll be jiving again before you know it🥰. I think you’ll see a definite difference in a month when you take your measurements, walking is really good for you and the idea of the treadmill is the perfect way to get fit. I’m with you regards diets, I’ve tried everyone going and haven’t managed to stick to any of them for long so now I just try to watch my portions and choose healthier options when I’m able…….biscuits and cakes are my downfall🥴
Hi Bethany, I’m so interested to see if I’ve lost any inches, it’s the naughty biscuit fairy, she keeps calling me to eat them haha 😂 and my portion sizes are far too big, I’ve got myself one of those plates with the portions on it, so 🤞I stick to it. I like ice cream lollies too 🙈xxx
Hi Lynn, Im 66 and walk every day , just for 45mins round aboub. I have a wee dog so that gets me ot. Iget sore heavy legs at times, especially climbing stairs but do have bad hips and back. I have partner to walk with as we are both retired but like you I dont like walking in places on my own. I have done it but it gives me anxiety !! Keep thinking theres someone behind me ha ha . I love baking and have put on a bit of weight as I taste it too. You have to dont you. . Its hard to give up the good stuff but the problem is my clothes start to get tight . Anyway, your doing great . Well done on your walking. Im not sure the walking alone makes me loose weight but think it helps with my joints. Cutting down and no sugar makes me loose a bit and keeping moving.
Wow 45 mins every day is good, I’m sorry you have several health issues, I can tell my hips are deteriorating, but I suppose they’re worn out….it’s nice that you have someone to walk with, I need to be walking on the flat, that’s why I opted for the treadmill, along with the anxiety of walking out alone. Yes cake and 🍪 are my weakness too. Thank you for commenting, take care 🥰🥰🥰
@@Nanna-M Yeah I walk on the flat. Cant do inclines these days. When I look back at the days of me doing high impact Aerobics,no wonder my joints are sore 😂I have Arthritis which doesn't help but keeping active is the key. You take care too x
Hi Lynn. Like you i am trying to lose weight. Never been on a diet in my life - never needed to. I was always under weight growing up. 3st when i was 12 and even full term preg never heavier than 7.5 st and not much of a bump. Now retired and find myself overweight its just not me so healthier eating and walking is what i am trying to do but nothing happening as yet. So good luck to us both I say. Keep it going.x
Hello lovely, it must be an age thing this weight gain, in fact I know it is, and it’s so difficult to shift it. I put 2 lb on this holiday, I expected it to be more to be honest, but I’m back on the healthy eating now, and my treadmill, so hopefully it’ll come off slowly. So yes, good luck to both of us 🙏🏻❤️
I'm so sorry you had these health problems but it looks like you are doing everything to make your life better. I really enjoyed listening as you have a lovely calm voice. I would love more stories please xx
Aw thank you Susan, I have lots of stories, I could write a book lol 😂 you know I’m very lucky really, in comparison to a lot, I only have to look at my close circle to see that. We all have stuff to deal with don’t we 🥰
Hi Lynn from Australian 👋 side effect of baking...love it! I so enjoy your vlog & you make me feel yr talking to me. 65 yrs & starting to walk again for my health & if i can loose weight all the better as belly fat for me equals impared insulin & i dont want to take medication. Lifestyle change a much better option & you will feel the benefit of your 20min treadmill walk in no time im sure👏👏👏
Hi Eileen, it certainly is, and it’s much easier to gain weight than to lose it for sure. It’s a good exercise, my consultant recommended me to do it. I chose the treadmill because it’s perfectly flat, I can use it all weathers, and I can watch a UA-cam video while I’m on there. Win win. Oh no, you can do without medication if it’s at all possible. Take care, sending much love ❤️🥰❤️
Hi am 69. During Covid I started to walk daily and can walk about 6 miles sometimes. Did loose a bit of weight but I did get a better shape and feel so much better. Keep going
Sadly I can’t walk much now I have club feet and very bad arthritis in my knees and neck.I get a lot of discomfort and pain in my legs ,and they can’t do anything for me so I have to live with it.I have a scooter and wheelchair. I still enjoy my life just differently. But FairPlay to you for doing what you do.hope it helps.❤
Aww massive love to uou Lynn in the last 2 years I lost 3and half stone walking I went on treadmill everyday also walking with my husband made me feel so much better plus changed some health issues I had well done beautiful ❤
Oh wow Linzi, that’s amazing really it is. That’s a massive amount to lose, I’m so pleased for you. That’s really encouraged me to keep it up, thank you so much for sharing that with me 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Lynn. I couldn’t believe when you said you were 68 you look amazing for your age I thought you were in your early fifties. I suffer with back problems and I walk most days it definitely helps and so does swimming I love swimming. I wish I had a treadmill as I don’t like walking in the rain and that’s hard living in Scotland as it rains a lot 😂. You’re a joy to listen to whatever the subject and you’ve done so well with your walking. I love to bake too but then I eat it. I’m lucky I’m not overweight but I try and stick to eating healthy 80% of the time and 20% of the time I eat cake 😂. I hate diets and think as long as you’re sensible you’re fine. I could listen to you all day. You’re such a lovely lady and I hope you do a q and a. Have a lovely week 🥰💕
Woo woo thank you Sandra, early fifties 🤭 xxx sorry to hear you have back problems though, very painful. I’m the worst swimmer, I have to be where my feet will touch the bottom of the pool or I panic. My treadmill was £149 off eBay, it’s basic, bout does what I need it to. So you’re like me with the baking, bake it, eat it, repeat haha 😂 my next video on Sunday is the garage declutter, then I think I’m doing Temu fashion, with try on, so at the end of that one, I might ask for questions…..not quite decided yet. I will try and eat sensibly like you, so thank you for the inspiration sweet lady 🥰
Hi , yes something different from you , not good to have health problems I wish you all the best, at our age it's not easy to give up the things we love to eat , and I do feel the same about walking. In the last 3 months I have taken to just having coffee and pice of small toast at 7am in the morning, then lunch meat or fish with vegetables or salads , and at night very ligh, some fruit a few nuts , cut off eating at 7pm . And I must say I have lost 5kg . I have missed my pasta and sweet things , but you can have a small treat at some point. Everyone is different what works for me may not be for someone else . Good luck 😘
Wow Katie, you’ve done really well, my hungry time is evening, which is bad I know. I’ll try and steal some of your willpower and stop eating after 7 ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Lynn, have just discovered your channel & enjoyed this video. Walking is a brilliant way to improve your fitness & stamina. I am a 60+ lady & broke my leg at the end of January. After lots of physio I am building up my steps each week. I started a UA-cam channel (Mrs R's Journal) just before I had my accident & I post a healthy eating & fitness plan update video each week which really helps me stay on track. Fingers crossed you get your other leg done & get back to doing some dancing xx
Oh Hi And a warm welcome to you. I’m so sorry to hear that you broke your leg, but happy to hear that your on the mend and walking again. I’m on day 17 of my 30 day challenge, and I’ve increased from 20 mins to 30 mins, going to up it to 40 mins on day 20. Some days it hurts more than others, but I power through. I figure if the surgeon did his bit, then I should do mine. I’ll pop over to your channel and have a look, maybe get some tips, so thank you for sharing 🥰
@@Nanna-M Well done! I am increasing my step target each week by 500 but have been managing to do more. The better weather has enabled me to get out for longer walks with our young Working Cocker Spaniel 🐶 Keep up the good work xx
An encouraging video Lyn, good you solved the problem of the treadmill. I’m looking forward to seeing the garage clear out as its top of my list too and I know it will inspire me. Good luck with your walking.
Here’s the link to the declutter video Margaret…ua-cam.com/video/0XTSryAoteE/v-deo.htmlsi=tomzdLMsjqtde99J it’s a big one haha hope it gives you the push you need ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Lynn, I'm almost 64 and have fibromyalgia. I walk the dog for about 20 mins twice a day (pain permitting!). Cold wet weather makes me worse, I should move to the Med!!! Like you I love dancing, used to do tap but love a boogie, me and hubby dance till the early hours when we're on a cruise but couldn't do it at home!!! I'd love to lose weight but its so hard when you love all the naughty stuff!!!! Fingers crossed you get your right leg fixed xx (PS Has anyone said you look like Fern Britten)
Oh Debs, no nobody’s ever said that, but I quite like that you think I do, I like Fern… well the naughty stuff tastes the best haha, but I must cut it down for the good of my health. Aw how lovely, dancing on a cruise as well…wonderful ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Lynn. Really interesting video. I’m sure you’ll feel better for using your treadmill every day and I hope something can be done about your leg. You’re such a positive person x
Hello Lynn,,I don't like gyms either, I have lost 33 lbs since January 2023,,no I don't follow any weight losing plan.I just eat in moderation. I will be interested in following your progress...no don't use the word diet its negative. I say I am on a healthy lifestyle now..I stopped smoking in 1991....
Well that gives me hope Joan, so thank you for sharing that with me. As you say the word diet just spells failure to me, but eating healthier is much more positive. Good on ya for the giving up smoking as well, food tastes so much better that’s the only thing haha 😂 xxx
Hiya Lynn, after subscribing yesterday I've watched a couple more videos. This was really informative. I'm a big walker and try to move around as much as possible, even when I'm at home. I'm 69 and had open heart surgery 3 years ago for a valve replacement due to a congenital issue. I lost a lot of weight very quickly as I was in hospital a month and could hardly eat anything. It took me more than a year of hard work to get my health and strength back. I now eat a healthy diet, walk loads and my weight's been stable for the last 2 years. Can you give us an update on your journey please? Christine
Hello Christine, wow you have been through the mill haven’t you. Healthy eating and exercise is the very best thing you can do, I’m trying to eat as healthy as possible but I do slip sometimes, I don’t beat myself up about it, I just get back on to it the day after. I will do a health update very soon, it won’t be a dedicated video, I’ll add it to another, possibly a Q&A I have coming up. Reading your story tells me that you’ve had it worse than me, my investigations are still ongoing, you know how bad our NHS is at the moment, so busy it’s unreal. Thank you for being interested Christine, it’s very much appreciated, and I do hope you enjoy my channel ❤️
Unfortunately it's not the only health issue I've had (a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma back in the early '90s, successfully treated). These things make you stronger and more resilient. This helped me to assist my daughter aftershe suffered a brain haemorrhage three years ago. We're both absolutely fine now and and although she's been left with a mental disability she too walks miles every single day. ❤
@@christinecoates2499 OMG how much is this world going to throw at you, you poor woman, that’s far too much. I’m so sorry your daughter has suffered a brain haemorrhage, such a scary thing, I had a mini stroke and that was bad enough. As you say, all these things make us stronger, we have no choice but to get on with what life gives us…. Much love to you and your daughter ❤️❤️
Hi. A very interesting & important video, things I didn't know about also thanks for sharing.I am 70 ,we went to a Yoga class today. Also we go to the gym & a Pilates class.
I totally understand how painful and frustrating having your mobility impaired is…I’ve also hired mob scooters on holiday..but not in Uk…that’s pride for you….anyway I had a knee replacement in March and it’s been amazing, mentally as well as physically, feel like I’ve got my life back….I’m having the over knee done next Friday, a bit apprehensive but heyho I know what to expect…I go to Aqua Fit and use my exercise bike at home…it’s knocked a few pounds off but mainly has toned my legs up.. well done on the 2 K subs xx
Oh Katie, good luck for next Friday, I hope it’s not too painful and your back home pretty soon. My lord, you’ll be like a new woman with 2 new knees, amazing 🥰
@@Nanna-M Hi it’s just a two night stay in hospital all being well..so this vain old bird has had her eyebrows and eyelash tinted, don’t want to scare everyone 🤣xx
Oh wow Lou, that’s what I had, and when they scanned me, my carotid artery was nearly completely blocked, I’d been very unwell for well over a year before, and gp just didn’t take my symptoms serious. Very dangerous really, but I don’t dwell on it, I got sorted in the end. I hope you’re all ok now ❤️❤️❤️
That was very interesting to hear about you and your health problems, I do hope you get your leg sorted. soon ...beats me why they didnt look at both legs at the same time! I am 70 and go line dancing twice a week so that about 5 hours altogether, and have done so since I was in my forties, maybe you should try that you dont need a partner. We dance to all kinds of music not just country as most people think and you definately do not need cowboy boots etc!! I also do all my own decorating and gardening and always on the go 😊
Congratulations on over 2000 subscribers in such a short time. Very interesting vlog. I hate gym’s as well . I have problems with my neck , shoulders and arms after 2 falls had them injected but didn’t work . My doctor said to try Tia Chi, it’s harder than it looks but has definitely made an improvement once you get into it. I’m 66 and my friend is 70 we are the youngest in the class 😂 . It definitely helps your balance and strengthens your muscles. I will be interested to see your results in 4 weeks time good luck. Xx
That was a lovely vlog with a cuppa, I’m 64 and have had two hip replacements and I seriously need to lose weight and get fitter, I used to love walking but I need to build up my stamina as I’ve become quite sedentary in my old age 😏I’ve Just got an elliptical cross trainer so all I’ve got to do now is start using it 😂
So lovely of you to share some of your health issues and explain how you are trying to resolve them and help yourself. You are really interesting and motivating others. I suffer with many health issues myself and it’s hard to motivate ourselves and keep moving but I try daily to keep busy, keep up with my interests and travel a lot. There are many free yoga classes on UA-cam. I follow an excellent one. Yoga does make a difference and I try to practise it regularly when my health doesn’t prevent me. See you soon. xx 😀
Sorry to hear you have health issues Carole, but it’s good to hear that you keep going. I’ve never tried yoga myself, but I may introduce it to my exercise routine. I’ll take a look at some UA-cam videos, see if I fancy it 🥰
Hi Lynn I've been enjoying your videos and you're a breath of fresh air. I'm 65 and suffer with fibro myalgia and arthritis especially my knees and as I'm overweight it wasn't helping. I borrowed my brothers treadmill but it was too monotonous for me lol as I prefer outdoors so in Jan I got myself a fitbit and started walking for 30 min a day and so far I've managed to lose just over a stone but it's more the inches that I've lost and my shape is more defined now. I can't believe how much its helped with my stamina and overall health. I wish you well on your journey and look forward to seeing your future vlogs...onwards and upwards ❤
Oh wow Sandra, we that will spur me on for sure, I’m mainly doing it for my legs, but I will definitely be happy if I can lose a little bit of weight along the way 🥰🥰🥰
Lovely lynn, I'm sat on the bed watching your vlog, and oh how you make me laugh. Even though it's been 9weeks since I fell down stairs and broke my back I am only allowed to walk if I wear this special brace (till October)😣 I too love to dance and miss doing a bogyy in the kitchen to the radio😂💃💃 so so it is with a keen interest to join you as soon as I can in getting fit and moving around better. As they say " use it or lose it " and that I think is very true as I watch other friends slow up with mobility issues as they get older and they were always fitted than me😏 I too hate diets but love the cake😂was however glad of the few extra pounds I was carrying at the time of the fall as I lost 16 pounds after 3 weeks stay in hospital. Every cloud has a silver lining🙄 keep on entertaining us and stay positive.
OMG Bernie, you broke your back 😳 I’m so sorry to hear that. Well as soon as your better, I’ll join you in a boogy round the kitchen lol 😂 oh do take care darling ❤️
Lovely to hear your blog, good luck on the treadmill! I've enjoyed your try on and cooking blogs, could listen to you for ages as you have a good sense of humour.💖💖
Haha I look like you! Have health issues and 4’ 11! Get likened to the late Barbara Windsor! 😂 But I am a brummie now living in Worcester! Keep up the good work! 😊
Congratulations, you’ve passed 2000 subscribers, well done 👍 I’m not surprised though 😊 I love your vlogs, you come across as such a nice person and I have no doubt you’re a bit of craic to be around too 😂 thank you for sharing your story with us, I hope you get your right leg sorted soo. 🤞🤞all the best, Fiona 💕💕
Thank you for this vlog, I feel your pain, I have PVD ,been managed by medication. Straingely I first noticed it on holiday in Tenerife. I don't think people understand just how bad the pain can be
@@Nanna-M yes I did. this was 23 years ago, I saw GP on return from Tenerife , he asked if I had been reading a medical dictionary as I was describing text book PVD, I was prescribed Ramipril ,asprin and a statin, I asked how long would I need to take the meds and was told until there was something better , I understand there now is ,I am still on original meds . I had ultrasound check on my neck and thankfully that was clear my problem was from my calf through to my ankle , I have always walked a lot so was relieved when my symptoms improved and walking became a pleasure again, However I dont walk much now as I am very unsteady on my feet and an scared of falling and I do feel an odd twinge in my calf but as I am now 81 I suppose it is to be expected , good luck with your treatment, hope you can get by without further surgery x
The only exercise I do is walking on the treadmill for an hour a day. I started at 10mins and built it up. I’ve lost 5st but have been dieting as well. I feel fitter than I’ve ever been
Oh wow Jacque, well done you, that’s fabulous for mr to hear, I’ve upped it today from 20mins to 30, hopefully I’ll get to an hour, do you do that all in one go xx
Oh that’s wonderful Jeanette, it’s so good to hear that some people are inspired to join me, honestly it makes me feel so motivated to carry on myself, thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Another crackin video Lynn, thanks for sharing your health issues, and it’s nice to hear that you have a pain free left leg now, and also the advice you were given about walking will also help your right leg, you’ll be boppin in no time! 😁. Can’t wait for the garage vid. Mines not a garage either, it’s a storage dump, full of rubbish mainly, a nightmare, so I’m looking for inspiration!! Anyway, thanks again, bye for now, love Sandra. X
Oh hi Sandra, well you might think your garage looks ok once you’ve seen what mine was like hahaha, but if it gives you the motivation to start to sort it out, my jobs done 😊 if you need my help to get you going, just shout ❤️
The leg problem might be what my sister in law has. Very interesting. I need to walk more but like you wouldn't walk alone. Might put a shout out for a walking partner here in West Yorkshire. Good luck with everything ❤
Just saw this late in the day and found it really interesting So glad you got to the bottom of that and also that there was something that could fix it - despite covid being in the way. Would love to have space for a treadmill, again like yourself not because I would like it 😮 but because I need to get a bit fitter - without going to the dreaded gym and not having to go out in all weathers. Had a treadmill in my garage several years ago and it was great - easy to get a routine. Someone said to me recently that it didn’t matter if you did 2 x half time workouts - it was just the same as the full one. Not too sure about it but once I get some motivation 🤗🙏 then I might put it to the test. I no longer have a treadmill but have followed some of the keep fit routines on UA-cam for 1/2 hour spells but I feel the treadmill was better - especially for the legs Really love your vlogs 😊
Hi Veronica, the pain was in both legs, they put a stent in my groin, and it helped lots with the left leg, but made no difference to the right. I’ve had further tests, and they think the pain is coming from my spine, so I have an MRI scan on the 14th May, so hopefully we will get to the bottom of it then. But meanwhile the treadmill is fabulous exercise for my legs, and the treadmill fits my lifestyle best. I hope you get to where you want to be with your exercise routine, and I really appreciate you watching my videos ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Sally, oh it’s just a thing that comes with age I suppose, bits get worn out, pipes get blocked, and hair grows where you don’t want it, and falls out where you do.. yes I’ll be showing my treadmill on the end of the 30 day challenge video xxx 🥰
Hi Lynn lovely to here your story im having trouble with my legs its been over a year now I've had mri scan xrays blood tests and they can't find anything I am in constant pain there has got to be something going on as your not in pain for nothing , anyway enough of me waffling on I hope the tred mill works and hope they can do something for your leg xx
Hi, i really enjoyed your video Lyn. I will be following all your videos. I am 74 and my legs hurt something terribe too, I have bad knees docsays it's just ware and tear.Thank you for your videos.
Hi Charley, drs make my blood boil when they say that, they should be looking into why it’s hurting,Mio back and tell him you want some investigations…. Awww bless you 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Lynn. I am the same age as you and I enjoy your channel very much. I think you did the right thing in getting a treadmill for exercise. I have had one for years. I didn't use it for many years until COVID and I started using it six days a week for 30 minutes. I don't diet either like you but feel healthy for my age. I have Stills Disease a rare rheumatology problem well controlled with medication. I would encourage you to use the treadmill regularly and you will feel much healthier. I always have a u tube video to watch while I'm walking on the treadmill and the time flies. Keep up the good work!
Oh yes, I too watch UA-cam, and the time passes a lot quicker. I’m thinking of going up to 30 minutes now, I’m on my 10th day so a 3rd of the way through. Thank you for the motivation, it’s nice that we can all help each other 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Lynn, thanks for revealing your health issues, you have been through it. My husband had a aneurysm in his abdomen which they monitored for 10 years, till it became large so two years ago he had keyhole surgery and had a graft put in the aorta, the graft has got a very tiny leak but they monitor it annually, so fingers crossed that the leak doesnt worsen. You remind me of myself, dont like diets cos when i am on a diet i am hungry all the time, dont like the gym either, but could you put tge link on to the yoga you are doing please. Xx❤️❤️❤️
Hi June, your poor hubby, I’m not doing the yoga June, because they wanted to take about 30 something pound subscription, so I thought not on your Nellie. So I’m just doing the treadmill for now, trying to cut down on sweet things, and move around more day to day. There might be free yoga workouts on UA-cam, you could have a look on there ❤️❤️❤️
You are so good at this Lynn… hope the steps work and you’ve inspired a lot of us to join you! (You suit your specs..may I ask where you got them please? ) Keep walking!🚶♀️
Hi Susan, I’ve had my specs for about 3 to 4 years, just had new lenses put in when I have my eyes tested. I got them from spec savers and they’re Karen Millen. Oh I can’t see a thing without them, not to read anyway. Thank you for the lovely comment by the way, ❤️
Hi Lynn, you are such a lovely warm friendly person, I really enjoy your vlogs. I have just started investigations into what sounds like a similar issue with my legs. Keep up the fab chats and insights to your life. Thank you 😊
Oh Kathy have you really, you must let me know how you go on. I hope they can do something for you, it’s not nice is it….I miss out on so many things, but hopefully we’ll be able to enjoy ourselves very soon ❤️❤️
Hello, Lynn! Beautiful video! Thank you so much for sharing your story :-) I just added it to my playlist about Health :) Your information about your experience with this disease will probably help many people :) Just subbed your channel and I look forward to watching more of your videos :) May the Lord be with you, Rachel in Nashville, TN, USA :) 🎨👩🎨🛐📙☦️🐪🐪
Hello thank you so much for subscribing, I really do appreciate it. Yes I think my story helped one or two, we tend to put up with things, thinking it’s to be expected as we eat older, but it can be dangerous. A few people said they called the GP after watching the video, as they had similar symptoms. And also with you Rachel, I hope is well in Nashville 🙏🏻😘❤️
Hi Lynne first of all congratulations on reaching over 2000 subscribers. I'm a little bit younger than you but I walk everywhere my motto is if you don't use it you lose it so well done for getting the treadmill ,you'll soon be dancing again.😊❤
Hi Lynn I did enjoy your vlog it was very. Interesting I have had a blood clot on the lung now I'm on Wallfren I all so have cellulitis so have to have trement on my legs than go back to have precious stockings on its not nice getting old but as I all was say at least I'm still alive 😅😅😅😅 look after yourself ❤x
Great video Lynn, I used to work in retail doing 10,000 steps plus a day kept the weight down but as soon as you stop the weight goes up unfortunately. Hope they can sort your right leg out to match the left. Just one question, what were your symptoms of the blocked artery in your neck that made you go to the doctors? I’m checking out all your other videos as I love your accent and you come across so down to earth keep up the good work.
Hi Maria, I know, I used to work nights in a care home and I can’t tell you how many steps we did in a night shift, I had to give it up because of the legs. Well, I had felt unwell for some time, very tired, fuzzy head, etc, but the main thing was what they call kaleidoscope vision, it gradually got worse over approx 2 years, nobody was listening to me. It’s like, you know when the tv losing signal and all you can see is wavy lines, we’ll part of, or all of my vision would be like that. It could last a few minutes, or longer in some cases, going into hours. Anyway, one day we were in the car coming back from a few errands, when my lip started to tingle, but more severe than a little tingle, it went down my chin and up to my nose. I told my husband and I could tell as I was speaking that my mouth wasn’t moving properly. It lasted about 1pm is then subsided. I rand 111 when we got home, they told me to go to AE immediately, my bp was 222, and it went from there really. They sent me for a scan, etc etc, my carotid artery was over 95% blocked. I’ve been tremendously lucky really, I was a ticking time bomb for a major stroke or worse. I knew that there was something wrong me, but trying to convince GPS these days isn’t easy, even getting an appointment is a marathon task. And all this was during Covid too xx I hope you are ok and not worried about yourself, you can ask me anything, I don’t mind at all x ❤️
@@Nanna-M so glad you got the treatment you needed. I was just interested in your story. I know how you feel about your legs, I had bursitis in my left hip and the pain in my leg was horrendous so to have pain in both must be agony! Hopefully won’t be too long before they do your other leg, keep smiling 😊
Hi lane I know what you are talking I have just had a app replacement 5-week ago this is my second hip replacement and this has James I can't do things like I used to I know I have in trouble with my nino know 😊😮
Hl lane. It takes me ages to do things I find it really in doing where it used to take me a day it takes me 2 weeks people used to say the hip you'll be a different person what Olaf I am walking with a walker with a seat on it for when I get India so I can sit down 😊😊
Aw Dot, I’m sorry to hear that, but it seems your getting things done, 2 new hips, wow xxx my hubby had one done, his other one needs doing but it not bad enough yet xxx
Mor please
Oh that’s fabulous Rita, yessss join me, we can motivate each other 🥰
I’m 76 and live in Toronto Canada.
Aw thank you for that Chris, what lovely things you’ve said. I’m glad I remind you of home 🥰
I do that too when the weather's bad...its a great feeling when you hit the 10,000 steps. Well done 👏
Dementia is a terrible disease, both my aunts had it before they died, it’s very sad seeing them with this, when you think what they were like before the dementia, so sad 😢
You must’ve been heartbroken seeing your mum with this, even although she was 92, it’s still your mum and nobody should have to go through that.
I also used to smoke and gave up, the best thing I ever did. Not only for my health but for my bank balance too! 😂
Anyway Lynn, well done again, I wish you a very long and happy life.
@@Nanna-M Thanks Lynn 💜🌸😘xx
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Lynn, very good video. I just love listening to you, your voice is soothing. Very informative info on your leg situation.
Glad you enjoyed it Marie, from the comments I’ve had it seems like it’s gone down well, thankfully 🥰
Thank you so much, yes it’s definitely important 🥰
Thank for sharing, lovely lady. Enjoy your Treadmill 😃👍
I haven’t used it since my shingles episode, I need to get back on it, you’ve reminded me Jennifer so thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Lynn, really really love your chats and getting to know you more. I feel its like chatting to a dear friend. Looking forward to your future vlogs xx
Thank you so much! I’m getting to know quite a few people here in the comments too, 😊
Thank you for sharing your story with us, Lynn. Walking is great exercise! Thanks for inspiring us!
Thank you so much, I hope I have, we all need to care more about ourselves don’t we. Especially as we get older ❤️❤️❤️
@@Nanna-M well your doing very well I love my food too ❤️🥬🍅🥕🫛🥒🌶️
Hiya Lynn, you're a joy to listen to whatever the topic, thanks for sharing what's been going on with you and for the inspiration to get walking more.
@@Nanna-M I’ll let you know when I start! Wish me luck!
Oh Terri, I’m thrilled that you will do that, do it with me and we’ll see if it helps us 🤗
Hi Lynn, what a helpful and informative video.
@Nanna-M I was that freaked out, I flung my head phones out of the door in to garden. I felt proper infiltrated- spied upon.
Well I’m not surprised, I think I’d have done the same, strange men taking in your headphone, what’s going on 😳 xx
Oh wow nanny, that is food for thought 🤔 xxx
😊 🌻 😊 🌻😊xx
Lynn
Love you even more . Ps
Made the lemon drizzle cake and it was lovely xx take care xx
Oh Trish, I’m so sorry about your friend, it’s sad when your health deteriorates. I will definitely keep walking now albeit in the garage. Its so nice that you feel I’m like a friend, that’s my purpose on UA-cam, and what I want for my channel. Oh you’ve done it, I want a slice of lemon drizzle now 🙈 xx
Hi 👋 lynn what a great video so much information on your illness thanks for sharing that with us 😊
Aw thank you for listening Lynda 🥰
I see you’ve watched an oldish video, I wanted to share this because it might help someone go to the gp if they’re suffering the same symptoms, we ladies often just put up with aches and pains don’t we ❤️🌹❤️
@@Nanna-M yes we do. X
Hi lynn, thankyou for sharing your story with us,so glad you found out about your condition and are now getting on top of it,😊❤
Aw thank you Shirley, now that I know, I’m really determined, 🥰
Love your videos Lynn. It’s like catching up with a friend xx
Love that Julie, thank you very much ❤️
I walk my dog an hour a day but can’t say it’s helped with weight loss but keeps me fit at 70.
We will see ❤️
I have just finished cancer treatment so I try to go out for a walk everyday but it's a struggle! Thinking I'll get an exercise bike! Keep walking! ❤
Oh I’m sorry you’ve been poorly Mary, I have a friend that’s just completed her treatment, and she gets tired too. Take care my dear 🥰
You look much much younger than your age, congrats on reaching over 2000 ❤
Lynn, I got an appointment with doc today, 29th Aug.
A few weeks ago, I(I’m also 67), I was diagnosed with quite a rare brain condition, so I have to exercise gently, so my blood pressure doesn’t spike 😳I can’t walk far where we live,it’s sooo hilly, so that’s out🤣, hence the treadmill😃
Good luck with your exercising and 🫰🏻for getting your leg done.
We have to keep going don’t we ❤️❤️
Good luck with your next procedure.
Fingers crossed, thank you Kathy xx
So interesting Lynn take care hope it turns out well
Thank you so much Maureen ❤️❤️
Keep going
Thanks for sharing that with me, it’s very positive, and I’m all for that for sure, it’ll keep me going 🥰
Sorry to hear that Sandra, really I am…I hope they e given you something to help with it, and may I say that I li e your attitude ❤️❤️❤️
I’ll try and steal some of your willpower and stop eating after 7 ❤️❤️❤️
@@Nanna-M ❤️ Yes not easy, good luck again.
Aw thank you Rosemary, I try to be, glass half full and all that, I don’t always manage it, but I try hard ❤️❤️🥰
@@Nanna-M thank you so much Lynn❤
I love listening to you my darling your so true and down to earth, its like your just talking to me in my frontroom. Xxx❤😊
Awww that’s so lovely, I’m happy with that for sure 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hi. A very interesting & important video, things I didn't know about also thanks for sharing.I am 70 ,we went to a Yoga class today. Also we go to the gym & a Pilates class.
Hi Christine, wow it sounds like you are a very active lady, we all need to take care of ourselves more, don’t we xx
Absolutely fabulous, I’m a fan 100% 🥰🥰🥰
Hi, Lynn, I have had the same op on my neck, I had aTIA so I was very lucky and I all so walk because I can't drive and I am 77. Thank you. Lou
I also do all my own decorating and gardening and always on the go 😊
Oh fabulous Dolly, if they cure my other leg I may well do that. You sound very active, and that’s the very best thing ❤️
Great video thank you 😊 ❤.
Xx
Hi Wendy, and thank you. I might have to look into tia chi, it sounds interesting x 🤞it’s a good result 🥰
That’s a great Vlog really enjoyed it. I’m chuffed to bits to see you have 2k followers x
Thank you Hazel, I’m delighted, can’t believe how quickly it’s happened, but I’m blown over ❤️
That was a lovely vlog with a cuppa, I’m 64 and have had two hip replacements and I seriously need to lose weight and get fitter, I used to love walking but I need to build up my stamina as I’ve become quite sedentary in my old age 😏I’ve Just got an elliptical cross trainer so all I’ve got to do now is start using it 😂
Really Linda, 2 new hips, your like brand new…it’s so rewarding once you start, makes you feel uplifted, so if I can do it, anyone can. Good luck 🥰🥰🥰
Oh wow Sandra, we that will spur me on for sure, I’m mainly doing it for my legs, but I will definitely be happy if I can lose a little bit of weight along the way 🥰🥰🥰
Lovely lynn,
I'm sat on the bed watching your vlog, and oh how you make me laugh.
Even though it's been 9weeks since I fell down stairs and broke my back I am only allowed to walk if I wear this special brace (till October)😣
I too love to dance and miss doing a bogyy
in the kitchen to the radio😂💃💃 so
so it is with a keen interest to join you as soon as I can in getting fit and moving around better.
As they say " use it or lose it " and that I think is very true as I watch other friends slow up with mobility issues as they get older and they were always fitted than me😏
I too hate diets but love the cake😂was however glad of the few extra pounds I was carrying at the time of the fall as I lost 16 pounds after 3 weeks stay in hospital.
Great challenge go for it
Oh I’m on it Margaret 🥰
Lovely to hear your blog, good luck on the treadmill! I've enjoyed your try on and cooking blogs, could listen to you for ages as you have a good sense of humour.💖💖

Hi Fiona, what lovely comments, I’m really pleased you think that way, and it’s very nice of you to say so. ❤️❤️
Thank you for this vlog, I feel your pain, I have PVD ,been managed by medication. Straingely I first noticed it on holiday in Tenerife. I don't think people understand just how bad the pain can be
Really Nellie, it’s good that it can be managed with medication, hope you don’t mind me asking, but have you had high cholesterol too xxx
Well said i live 8n America from leeds and love your vlog.
Awesome! Thank you Mary, ❤️❤️❤️
The only exercise I do is walking on the treadmill for an hour a day. I started at 10mins and built it up. I’ve lost 5st but have been dieting as well. I feel fitter than I’ve ever been

Hi Lynne, keep going on the treadmill .I am sure it will benefit you .xx
Thank you, I will do ❤️
The leg problem might be what my sister in law has. Very interesting. I need to walk more but like you wouldn't walk alone. Might put a shout out for a walking partner here in West Yorkshire. Good luck with everything ❤
Anne, walking partners a really good idea, go for it 🥰
Just saw this late in the day and found it really interesting So glad you got to the bottom of that and also that there was something that could fix it - despite covid being in the way.
Thank you Lynn really enjoyed this ,very informative and I am sure you have helped so many people.xx
I hope so Janet, worth sharing if it does, so many of us just get on with it, and don’t go to the drs when we should …🥰
Hi Lynn I love your videos. I’m interested to see your treadmill. Sorry you’ve had all of your troubles. Thank you for sharing.❤❣️🥰

Hl lane. It takes me ages to do things I find it really in doing where it used to take me a day it takes me 2 weeks people used to say the hip you'll be a different person what Olaf I am walking with a walker with a seat on it for when I get India so I can sit down 😊😊
