What is even worse is that she was 12 at the time it happened. Like, there is a reason why the age of criminal responsibility is higher than 12 in most countries. Even if she was in the wrong (which imo she was absolutely not), she was still just a kid. The accusations were proven to be false. But HYBE has done nothing about it and terminated her contract anyway. In my opinion it's probably controversial marketing strategy, using a member's controversy to promote a new group by stirring public intrigue. The Koreans you see are only few paid underage girls or +30 years old unemployed boys (wich they get paid by competitors companies to tarnish reputation of competitors idols) they do not represent the general public. I don't think they would have had as much hate from their vocals. She had the 3rd most lines in the Fearless EP and was usually one of the primary singers doing the harmonizing parts. Their vocals would have been much stronger and balanced if Garam was still in the group.

Why are people so surprised by what Hybe has said or the way these companies treat their artists? When you realize that these companies see these artists not as people but as products, pieces of meat that can be switched out any time for any imperfection whatsoever (pre launch), it all makes sense. We've seen so many examples of this behavior. (If you really cared for someone as a human being, you really think you could take them out in the middle of dance practice and tell them they've been kicked out of the group? Or tell a Shaman that one of your trainees looks like she's possessed? Or in the reality show sixteen the manager remarking how fat Jihyo looks right within earshot of her) After launch they do their best to beat you down mentally to keep you humble so you're easier to control and manipulate and to make you feel you could not be successful without them. You can blame the company if you want but who really ended her career was the fans. YES HYBE didn’t have to terminate her contract and could have done more to help her situation, but the fans literally gave them no choice because it was so much he said she said and mostly negative. Fans LOVE to blame the companies for mismanagement/mistreatment or “not protecting” the idols but in the same breath choose a side (often the wrong one) with no substantial evidence to support the claims and throw hateful messages and comments threatening boycotts. Fans are so delusional more often than not they don’t see how they contribute to the toxic environment and enable it more than anyone else in the kpop industry. I am not defending HYBE because they are garbage and truly only in it for the money but it’s like how can you be mad at HYBE when more than 70% of kpop fans bashed her daily asking for her dismissal when this was going down in real time. It even stated that there was NO physical violence. The ZERO tolerance against Bullying policy... only goes into effect when things BLOW UP, and the Bullying CAN'T be over looked. What is even worse is that she was 12 at the time it happened. Like, there is a reason why the age of criminal responsibility is higher than 12 in most countries. Even if she was in the wrong (which imo she was absolutely not), she was still just a kid. It's idiotic trying to hold her accountable for something she likely would have already outgrown at that point. Either way, when someone is posting unconsensual pics of minors in their underwear, I think it's totally justified to confront them and curse them out(which is what she was punished for). Why are people so surprised by what Hybe has said or the way these companies treat their artists? When you realize that these companies see these artists not as people but as products, pieces of meat that can be switched out any time for any imperfection whatsoever (pre launch), it all makes sense. We've seen so many examples of this behavior. (If you really cared for someone as a human being, you really think you could take them out in the middle of dance practice and tell them they've been kicked out of the group? Or tell a Shaman that one of your trainees looks like she's possessed? Or in the reality show sixteen the manager remarking how fat Jihyo looks right within earshot of her) After launch they do their best to beat you down mentally to keep you humble so you're easier to control and manipulate and to make you feel you could not be successful without them. The company is not interested in protecting them as people but just protecting their investment, and when it benefits the company to let that investment go or be sacrificed (case in point, Garam and Seunghan), then they will be.

HYBE/SoMu fought TOOTH AND NAIL to keep Garam in the group, but you know what y’all said at that time? “Oh her parents must never paying a lot of money” “of course they’re defending a bully” “I wonder kinds of things she did to get this treatment” and other dirty comments.
