During Fever era, SinB lost all motivation to go on because the girls already heard of the acquisition. Obviously, nobody in Gfriend likes the idea esp SinB and Eunha who were thrown by Big Hit to SouMu like some kind of leftover. To go back under the company that threw you out, its horrible.

If HYBE doesn't like the existing groups under the agencies they acquired, they covertly disband them and debut another group that matches Bang Si-hyuk's standards of "star power". If Gfriend did not pass Bang's standards despite being popular already, HYBE won't hesitate to disband. It's a big company, they are always ready to re-invest and promote a new group.

They did Gfriend crazy. Even if they wouldn't have had Le Sserafim numbers, they could have still done well touring and been a successful group, and then they just have multiple successful groups. It's not highlander like damn. They were like the 4th most popular of the 3rd generation.

Lsm was a singer, jyp was a total performer while yhs was a 1st gen kpop OG hiphop member. So despite them being businessmen, they had clear understanding, unique viewpoints & clear focus/goals for thwir artists. While bangpd may have a musical production knowledge or touch, it's entirely different from being a perfroming artist. Bts was a fluke, lucky bnag pd was that he had namjoon, suga, jhope as producers under his small bighit company. But bang pd used the rags to riches story or sensationalizing the bts struggle story to popularize his then only active bg. He capitalized on this public sympathy of a struggling bg w/c almost disbanded due to poor agency to becoming the world's huge boyband...even until today his skills at producing kpop grps are clearly aren't at par w/ the veterans of kpop..even his supposedly survival shows are copie or inspired by yg, jyp...the marketing, concepts, all inspired by the big 3...even cube, starship had debuted more talented idols and utilized their id9ls accorsingly despite being shitty at managing them.

It seems like the company was trying to build on the success of Perfect Night by giving them a song with a more similar sound but it didn't work out. Something like their previous B-Side "Impurities" would have been a lot better. I've liked all of their other promoted songs as well as a lot of their B-Sides. Yunjin's solo stuff is really good too and she wrote all of those songs herself.

When there's mistreatment, or the boys hinted at something they need help with, their fans immediately took action and put it on social media, send truck to the company, send letters, send this send that heck they would probably march for the boys too. On the other side girls group probably have 60% male fans and 40% female fans. Nothing is wrong with that but lets be honest male fans seldom put any effort into stanning their groups. Buy merch, attend concert? Sure. The girls get mistreatment, have to wear uncomfortable clothes in the cold and dangerous high heels on slippery floor? Who cares! And so you have the tiny portion of the female fans to actually try and bring the unfair treatment to spotlight, which rarely get attention at all. The reason boy group last longer is because their fans put effort into stanning them. This is undeniable fact and Bang PD benefitted from that. The reason their girl groups failed is because they didn't understand their own fanbase. They think if their fans didn't went 100% hardcore stanning like they did with BTS it means they failed, not realising BTS case is rare too.
People forgot back then Namjoon, Jin, Suga etc can hardly dance. But their fans give them chance and extend their career longevity by stanning them. The company get backlash when they mistreat them, so they have to improve, which indirectly also improve BTS treatment. Without the 'crazy' ARMYS BTS wouldn't exist. Not that they're untalented but their talent need time to bloom and the fans made that happen. They didn't debut a literal legend. They come close to disbanding a few times but didn't go through it because of the fans supporting them. Also remember male fans often didn't have actual 'main group' they just stan multiple groups, or often than not just one member of the group. So the girl groups couldn't enjoy the massive united fanbase like BTS, and thats why they always get pushed back. Forget talent, they're lucky if they didn't get called grandma by the time they're 25.

GFRIEND disbanding still hurts to this day. People just don't understand the pain. They were one of the most beloved group at that time. I remember seeing them in many variety shows and how amazing their performances are. Sinb has one of the most beautiful faces during that era, while Yuju has one of the best vocals, and Yerin was really entertaining in variety shows. I still wish they would reunite and comeback one day dammit.
I wish people would talk as much about NU'EST's disbandment as they do GFRIEND. It was their 10th anniversary, and they had tons of things scheduled throughout the year. They had many activities scheduled for AFTER their contract renewal. Meaning both the members and PLEDIS thought the renewal was definitely going to happen, otherwise there would not be so many schedules. Yet only 2 members renewed and the group disbanded. Unlike most labels who would at least keep the group together even if members wanted to do solo activities with a different company. It was all extremely shady. That is why many believe that HYBE interfered with the contract renewal. Just like GFRIEND resources went to LS and New Jeans, NU'EST resources went to TWS. Yet another reason why HYBE has been trash in many ways unrelated to MHJ.

The reason Dahee gave for attempting to get all that money was that GLAM was dead at that point and didn’t have any promotions, but she was carrying a huge amount of trainee debt. Tbh i didnt really mind illits line up even if i did get mad a bit but even so they did pretty well yet when they debuted they're vocals were way off and for what i feel hybe doesnt realy care about vocals but visuals and put illit in a situation where magnetic's vocals were way off, and their dances if i hope werent made by themself yet their choreographer who had may just used old choreo for new songs
I agree on the vocal parts, Moka was so amazing in runext and so were the others as well. Wonhee needed backtracks for support as she was new to being an idol and only a 2 months old trainee which meant that her part in performances were needed to assist her. She also gave the plate in aim high performance but that was brushed off by people. The only problem is that belift never truly cares about how ggs would sing in songs that don't fit their vocal range, which we can finalize the opinion that hybe shouldn't have ggs if they can't hold them properly.
I feel all these companies like big hit, pledis, source, belift and others were working fine individually. I really dont knw what made them join hybe. Not only GG but other groups r suffering badly. All of there carriers are affected badly. Hybe just wants money. Greedy as hell thats it.

Katseye are managed under Hybe America and Geffen Records. They will likely be fine because they will be managed in America. They're marketed as a global group, not KPOP, so standards are different for them.

If I have to be honest, when HYBE took over GFriend there was a massive change in their sound. The productions were good but the songs were so different and almost bland, I can't explain it. Priori to HYBE, GFriend really had THEIR SOUND, they were good at it, it made them unique and they were successful. It's clear that HYBE tried with them something different, maybe what they ended up doing with Le Sserafim... I'm not sure. And when they realised they couldn't mold GFriend into what they wanted and sales were sky-rocketing as maybe they were expecting, they dumped them like litter in a bin :-(

Uhm this is literally Kpop as a whole not just Hybe. Ggs are seen as commercial artiste because they attract general public faster while bgs depend on fanbase. So companies normally have high expectation of ggs because the GP consumes ggs faster.

GP won't won't make weverse account, buy phoning subscription, buy merch, they only listen on what's fed to them by algorithm. that's also the reason why GGs are aggressive with commercial ambassadorship as those gigs pay well whereas BGs only need to sustain their fandom.
Ggs are more marketable and attracts new kpop fans. Bgs have more loyal fanbases and their fans tend to stick around for a long time, which is extremely important to keep up their popularity throughout their military service. I mean, I can easily list quite a few girl groups that fell off (Itzy, Everglow, Loona) but it's pretty hard to list boy groups that fell off hard. If Gfriend did not pass Bang's standards despite being popular already, HYBE won't hesitate to disband. It's a big company, they are always ready to re-invest and promote a new group.

So despite them being businessmen, they had clear understanding, unique viewpoints & clear focus/goals for thwir artists. While bangpd may have a musical production knowledge or touch, it's entirely different from being a perfroming artist. Bts was a fluke, lucky bnag pd was that he had namjoon, suga, jhope as producers under his small bighit company. But bang pd used the rags to riches story or sensationalizing the bts struggle story to popularize his then only active bg. He capitalized on this public sympathy of a struggling bg w/c almost disbanded due to poor agency to becoming the world's huge boyband...even until today his skills at producing kpop grps are clearly aren't at par w/ the veterans of kpop..even his supposedly survival shows are copie or inspired by yg, jyp...the marketing, concepts, all inspired by the big 3...even cube, starship had debuted more talented idols and utilized their id9ls accorsingly despite being shitty at managing them.

Yunjin's solo stuff is really good too and she wrote all of those songs herself.

When there's mistreatment, or the boys hinted at something they need help with, their fans immediately took action and put it on social media, send truck to the company, send letters, send this send that heck they would probably march for the boys too.
On the other side girls group probably have 60% male fans and 40% female fans. Nothing is wrong with that but lets be honest male fans seldom put any effort into stanning their groups. Buy merch, attend concert? Sure. The girls get mistreatment, have to wear uncomfortable clothes in the cold and dangerous high heels on slippery floor? Who cares! And so you have the tiny portion of the female fans to actually try and bring the unfair treatment to spotlight, which rarely get attention at all.
The reason boy group last longer is because their fans put effort into stanning them. This is undeniable fact and Bang PD benefitted from that.
The reason their girl groups failed is because they didn't understand their own fanbase. They think if their fans didn't went 100% hardcore stanning like they did with BTS it means they failed, not realising BTS case is rare too.
People forgot back then Namjoon, Jin, Suga etc can hardly dance. But their fans give them chance and extend their career longevity by stanning them. The company get backlash when they mistreat them, so they have to improve, which indirectly also improve BTS treatment.
Without the 'crazy' ARMYS BTS wouldn't exist. Not that they're untalented but their talent need time to bloom and the fans made that happen. They didn't debut a literal legend. They come close to disbanding a few times but didn't go through it because of the fans supporting them.
Also remember male fans often didn't have actual 'main group' they just stan multiple groups, or often than not just one member of the group. So the girl groups couldn't enjoy the massive united fanbase like BTS, and thats why they always get pushed back. Forget talent, they're lucky if they didn't get called grandma by the time they're 25.

GFRIEND disbanding still hurts to this day. People just don't understand the pain. They were one of the most beloved group at that time. I remember seeing them in many variety shows and how amazing their performances are. Sinb has one of the most beautiful faces during that era, while Yuju has one of the best vocals, and Yerin was really entertaining in variety shows. I still wish they would reunite and comeback one day dammit.

I wish people would talk as much about NU'EST's disbandment as they do GFRIEND. It was their 10th anniversary, and they had tons of things scheduled throughout the year. They had many activities scheduled for AFTER their contract renewal. Meaning both the members and PLEDIS thought the renewal was definitely going to happen, otherwise there would not be so many schedules. Yet only 2 members renewed and the group disbanded. Unlike most labels who would at least keep the group together even if members wanted to do solo activities with a different company. It was all extremely shady. That is why many believe that HYBE interfered with the contract renewal. Just like GFRIEND resources went to LS and New Jeans, NU'EST resources went to TWS. Yet another reason why HYBE has been trash in many ways unrelated to MHJ.

The reason Dahee gave for attempting to get all that money was that GLAM was dead at that point and didn’t have any promotions, but she was carrying a huge amount of trainee debt. This isn’t to say she isn’t 100% responsible for deciding to turn to actual crime, but I still wonder if she would have gone through with such an insane plan if the company hadn’t put her in such a desperate position.

Tbh i didnt really mind illits line up even if i did get mad a bit but even so they did pretty well yet when they debuted they're vocals were way off and for what i feel hybe doesnt realy care about vocals but visuals and put illit in a situation where magnetic's vocals were way off, and their dances if i hope werent made by themself yet their choreographer who had may just used old choreo for new songs
I agree on the vocal parts, Moka was so amazing in runext and so were the others as well. Wonhee needed backtracks for support as she was new to being an idol and only a 2 months old trainee which meant that her part in performances were needed to assist her. She also gave the plate in aim high performance but that was brushed off by people. The only problem is that belift never truly cares about how ggs would sing in songs that don't fit their vocal range, which we can finalize the opinion that hybe shouldn't have ggs if they can't hold them properly.

If I have to be honest, when HYBE took over GFriend there was a massive change in their sound. The productions were good but the songs were so different and almost bland, I can't explain it. Priori to HYBE, GFriend really had THEIR SOUND, they were good at it, it made them unique and they were successful. It's clear that HYBE tried with them something different, maybe what they ended up doing with Le Sserafim... I'm not sure. And when they realised they couldn't mold GFriend into what they wanted and sales were sky-rocketing as maybe they were expecting, they dumped them like litter in a bin :-(

NJ members seems to come from good family who love and care for them so if any of these issues are true I’m pretty sure their parents will handle it for them.
I'm sorry to say but outside of BTS HYBE boy groups isn't that great also, even till now I haven't listen to a TXT song. I listen to some Lesserafim song and I have NewJeans albums so I wouldn't say the boy groups are doing well too.

So companies normally have high expectation of ggs because the GP consumes ggs faster.

Ggs are more marketable and attracts new kpop fans. Bgs have more loyal fanbases and their fans tend to stick around for a long time, which is extremely important to keep up their popularity throughout their military service. I mean, I can easily list quite a few girl groups that fell off (Itzy, Everglow, Loona) but it's pretty hard to list boy groups that fell off hard. Old fans tune in to their comebacks even after like 2 years of military service and no new content at all.
