@Some Fella how is taxation is theft? if you have enough money you pay in to the system, in return you get free healthcare, an income when you retire (it's crap but it is still something), law enforcement, free education for your family or any family you may have in the future, it supports disabled people and those with learning disabilities and those with mental illnesses (although if people think that teachers have it hard they should look at those who work in that area) some of which you may develop as you get older, it pays for those who suddenly lose their jobs (not enough normally unless you're like me and disabled and universal credit is a fucking disaster) it pays for the government who run the country (ok they aren't always good, right now they're shit but that's torries for you but at least someone's doing it and you have a say as to how they do it) and much more, if anything it's a pretty good fucking deal and on top of that you don't even need to pay anything until you can, i don't pay anything and can still get all of that (well i pay £11 plus my optional TV licence) and one day if i ever get a job or win the lottery (which ever comes first) i'll gladly pay back into it so that others can get what i got. basically if you use anything funded by the tax payer and have the money you should be contributing to it.
That story with the Mr. Burton and the Child with the stammer is beautiful He is selfless and we need every teacher to be as amazing as him God bless you, you brilliant man get this guy a couple hundred gold medals
When I was in the hospital for attempted suicide, my teacher drove almost an hour to my house to make sure me and my family were alright. They are truly incredible.
My history teacher has cerebral palsey, he speaks unclearly, and when makes jokes people think he is serious, he gets teased all the time by the kids at my school, and still, he makes jokes, he sat down with me at parents evening and told me not to be so hard on myself because I am amazing at history, he told me over and over that evening not to criticize myself so much, because I tried so hard, and I was great, I wanted to cry, this guy, every lesson all the kids ask him to repeat the questions 10 times over, and he does it, he apologizes for speaking that way, to the kids that tease him, he even lectured a kid in my class, then when the kid asked about his detention, my history teacher told him he didn't have a detention, he is the funniest man I know, and the nicest teacher at my school, teachers are amazing people
I read things like this and wonder what the hell you're talking about. I was told I was dumb until I got into post-secondary when a teacher told me I was pretty sharp. I had teachers ask me how I could know so little and in maths I think the most common comment I got was, "How did you get that??" I was a quite student with ADD that sat in the back of the class and was pegged as lazy and stupid by every teacher I ever had.
Wow it’s so nice to hear how highly you speak of your teacher I know it might be a weird thing to do but maybe you should tell him this is how you feel this could really make him feel worthy and his job is worthwhile
Eva Villasenin hold on a sec, you’re an English teacher, you ought to help out in times of need rather than to aggravate the situation further. That’s hypocrisy right there if you aren’t willing to assist someone and to help them out for future such circumstances. This is a UA-cam comment section, there shouldn’t be any tension here (at least there wasn’t until you decided to show up) so please try not to take this as a hard apology from me- it’s not really in any sense- but rather take this as an opportunity to reflect on yourself and your career. Perhaps however some things cannot be taught...
@@rbanerjee605 First of all, what the actual fuck? Second of all, I'm not his teacher, so it's not my place to correct anything, not his grammar nor anything else, coming from him, who, by the way, must be either freaking out or having a laugh right now. I believe in communication above accuracy, not in trying to lecture people. And you have done this twice in this thread, both to him and me. I don't really know who you are, not going to do what you did and try and find out, and I don't know who you think you are to try and lecture me on how I should reflect on my career and myself... How insufferable of you to think you can lecture people on or offline, to be honest. But you do you, my friend. I rest my case here, obviously. Have a nice life, and good luck, you'll need it.
He's over here saying that 64 kids is crazy and im here like: "b-b-but, we have 71 kids in ours. my teacher seems fine." Now im freaking out about my teachers well being.
What grade? That’s a fairly normal class size for some of the basic level general education classes, in universities over here in the United States. If the 71 students isn’t in a university and in a basic general education class, then that is horrible and terrifying. Even if it is a university and a basic general education class, it’s still horrible and awful, but at least professors know what they’re going to be dealing with, going in.
University class sizes... go nuts Public school sizes? I agree with 25 cap. Over that a) class room is full b) no fucking way can you help every kid if you have more than that
@@RiverPond11 it also depends on the schedule, the more students the more time you need. pretty much every normal class (aka advanced math and science, normal math and science, the 3 different types of english etc.) are all full, and full for us is 30. The teachers seem fine because they are used to it, but any more than 30 and thats too much imo, im in high school so the number would be much lower because of limited space and the fact that college and uni students are usually more mature than highschoolers
a few years back I attempted suicide and my family didn't come to the hospital ( they didn't care ) so my Maths teacher at the time, Ms. Moed, drove to the hospital every day for three months to help me recover and to this day she is the most wonderful person I know and she helped me get into the university of my choice, I have now graduated with honors in engineering, I can honestly say I would not be here without her.
She is a gift of God to you, I think; like an angel send with a purpose to save you. Maybe you will be this way to another kid later? I wish you & your caring teacher all the best! 🌷From Holland with love.
Fucking beautiful story! I'm glad u made ur own family! Water is thicker than blood but sometimes blood is thick as shit!!!! Wish u n Ms. Moed the best! U both deserve it!
As a student this really makes me think twice about complaining about the education system sure there are some teachers that just don’t teach but they really do deserve more respect
Ninja Jellyfish you should complain about the education system not the teachers themselves. There's so many hoops you have to jump through which can make teaching and learning tedious and uninspiring and teachers not getting paid enough but having to do so much unpaid overtime leads to teachers being drained to the point they don't care anymore
Rin615 my thoughts exactly the education system should be better for the student and the teacher and like I said teachers should get more respect for what they do
Ninja Jellyfish I couldn't agree more. There is nothing more frustrating than watching pupils tease a teacher who is working so hard to help them pass there exams and do well in life.
You have every right to complain about the school system. Teachers do deserve respect, yes. But the ones who don't teach or do a terrible job at it because they just feel like it do deserve to be called out. As does the entire school system as a while if you feel that it could be improved. There's a difference between being rude and disrespectful, and respectfully pointing out the things that could be changed or improved. Also, a little off topic, but is that L running off with a Nyan Cat's poptart on your profile picture? Lol.
I complain about the system itself. Teachers are stuck in that horrible system but many choose to stay for good reasons that the system cannot recognise
If there is something that gets me emotional, it's seeing young teen audiences being moved by either stories or their classmates overcoming a burden. I mean, just look at 7:27-7:40. They went nuts because he gave a small speech, overcoming his biggest struggle. It's honestly absolutely beautiful to see how empathetic/sympathetic these kids are.
I am a man in my 70's and I'm a Russell Howard fanboy. When he does these pieces it is obvious it's not just show biz, you can see he is genuinely enthused by what he says, that it really is from the heart. It's especially noticeable in, but by no means limited to this one that he is genuinely choked up. And he's fucking funny!
I'm studying A level biology and I'm in my second year. The teacher we had last year was absolutely horrendous, didn't teach most of the spec, patronized the female students, and offered no help when we asked for it. However our teacher this year is wonderful. She's been cleaning up the mess the last teacher left behind with our grades. She's funny, cares about our education, and most of all she motivates us everyday. The worst thing is that she's overworked and gets little support from the college. She puts so much effort into making our lessons and the workbooks she gives to us that cater to everyone's different learning style. Teachers like my A level biology teacher are absolute heroes.

Your awesome! I’m always polite and respectful to my teachers even my bad ones because the rates on how schools can really affect a teachers mental health is saddening I understand that teaching is a 24/7 job and I really appreciate what you do thank you 🙏🏼:)
You must be insane if you’re considering a job as a teacher in 2018. Cuts have resulted in schools being understaffed and under-resourced. The uk government claims you’ll get base salary of around £27k but the reality is you’ll get £23k if you’re lucky. Odds are that you’ll end up as an assistant on £16k but saddled with the responsibilities of a full teacher/pastoral carer/safeguarding officer. Competent head teachers are extremely rare and you’re much more likely to work underneath a narcissist, a money managing bean counter or a bully with an authority complex than a professional who works for the benefit of the school, the pupils and the teaching staff. Staff are often so exhausted and fed up that those who aren’t off with stress are completely detached from their job. And schools are notorious for being toxic workplaces; if the kids don’t break you down, the other teachers will. And if that wasn’t bad enough, you’ll have to deal with the parental generation who will file a complaint against the teachers who sentence their kid to detention for throwing a chair through a window and then waging a psychotic online smear campaign against said teacher. This is the sort of shit that teachers have to put up with in 2018.
woodsmccloud well said and teachers are one of the most influential people in a child lives that treatment is unfair and undeserved whereas shitty public figures like the kardashians are millionaires
see i start teacher trainaing at collage in September and its always been my dream to be a teacher but everyone telling me to give up as the money not worth it but i try my best anyway i want to try and help kids and even if the pay bad i still try but im so scared bout becoming a teacher
woodsmccloud I’m about to start college and will be doing AYT - Aspiring Young Teacher. As long as I know I can help people in ways I needed when in their position. Help them, inspire them etc I don’t care about the money. It’s that feeling of gratitude I’d get eventually that’s enough.
i had a recent case where my teacher didn't leave crying or anything but because the class was so unruly they had to leave for the rest of the lesson to try and cope/ find a member of staff that would command respect better, before that point multiple other staff members who were on patrol had to come in to tell the class to quite down, another incident was with my biolohy teacher last school year who had such a hard time getting the class to listen and when she said that humans are animals some students were saying that she was being offensive, but it's the truth, if you know anything about the classification of life humans are classed as mamals, which are a type of animal. and in both cases i find it deeply upsetting that teachers have to deal with such bad behaviour
My teacher is a saint, i couldnt afford equipment and the school used to supply it but this teacher went out of his way to get me all the things i need, pens pencils a calculator and pencil case it was amazing what a great guy
I rarely comment on UA-cam, but felt compelled to. Today I was told that one of the maths teachers in my school passed away from cancer. She got diagnosed 3 months ago and wasn't even 50 yet. This video made me release all the emotion from my day. I cried greatly. As a student I see how government costs and inadequate parenting affects teachers and the class. I petition our government to stop cutting education. No one wins from it. A good education is necessary both economically and socially. I salute teachers and all public sector workers who have faced cuts by being selfless and amazing role models. Everything I am, I owe to my teachers who taught me the value of continually improving myself by learning both in the classroom and outside. I am eternally grateful and hope you get the recognition you deserve. R.I.P Carmella 😭❤
Damn he's so right. I remember Mr Roberts, not too much older than us, and he was ALWAYS up for a laugh. He would frequently buy us snacks for after school sessions and just paid for so much shit in general. I'm pretty sure the English department owed him money and never reimbursed him for it, but he was more than happy to go that extra mile for us. He was one of those teachers who you could tell just wanted to help kids, and he was a fucking great teacher as well and even gave us all personalised postcards when he left. I remember mine word for word, and I'm pretty sure he made every single one of us feel special like we meant more to him than everyone else did, but in a good way. Damn I miss him, great guy
Thanks to all teachers who go to work and inspire our young every single day. You are the best, all a child need is one teacher who can reach out to them and inspire them.
The moment I fell in love with Russell Howard 😍 wow no one has spoke so passionately about teachers like he has, not even the unions. Thank you for recognising the true value of a teacher. Love teacher trainee xxx
A teacher gave me a pair of shoes because mine were giving me bruises on the bottom of my feet, were severely beat up, didn't keep out the rain or the cold. I have never been so grateful. Today I had a nose bleed and she arranged to have my uniform washed and a spare pe top I could wear round school so I didn't have to walk around covered in my own blood. I really appreciate that. My teachers have made me feel loved and safe when I was being abused. I owe the person that I am today to my teachers, past and present.
As an ex-teacher, thank you for this! It's mad how few people recognise the labour of love that teaching is. You pour your whole soul into your work for the greater good and very seldom get thanked. More parents should be made aware that if their kid is being a brat, or failing, that's on them for not teaching their kid self-discipline. It's not the teacher's job to teach manners and self-control. Teachers are just trying to do their best for their students.
Ryan Stanley Well, I'm an English teacher from Scotland so things are different around here. But what I can tell you is if your teaching high school students is too be overly nice. It has an effect of guilt on the people misbehaving and they feel worse than if you just shout at them. Instead of staying STOP THAT RIGHT NOW I'll say could you please stop that honey?
A friend of mine from high school told me they were planning on becoming a teacher and i couldn't help but ask "Why though?" and had to fix it and say "I'm sorry that was rude but I mean you were at our high school you know how horrible teens are...they made that one teacher have a mental breakdown and quit..I just don't want you to suffer ,man." and his reply was "I just want to make a difference and even if they treat me terribly ..I just want to try to impact someone's life, you know?" and I admire him but worry for his wellbeing i hope him the best. Right now he's a student-teacher for our old high school.
My teachers got me out of my abusive home and now help me with my anxiety. I can’t appreciate them more Well ok most of them are good but one mentally destroyed me and I didn’t leave the house for like two months but whatever lmao
Maybe it's just an England thing, because teachers in Germany have quite a decent life. The education and health system in Germany is quite good in general. We have other issues...
I was a pupil in Thurso High School recently. In the 6 years I was, I was never a bad pupil. At the very least a difficult one, and only in certain situations. I thank my teachers for getting me through, because High School has been difficult for me, in more ways than one. To all the teachers since S1, and prior in Primary School, thank you for setting me a goal for physics, but no one more than Mr Mackenzie. He was my physics teacher since S3 high school, and since then has been one of my favourite teachers, if not my ultimate favourite. He made so many jokes, and intentional or not, they always made the class laugh. And he gave me an understanding of physics that I hope to get into university with - him, and my other physics teacher (for one year), Mr Byrne. Both knew how difficult a pupil I could be, certainly Mr Mackenzie, and acknowledged that I may have needed help sometimes. I would never strike or throw anything at any of the teachers I have had in the past. They set me on a path that I will follow until the end of university, and having finished High School recently just makes it clear how much I loved my teachers, and how much I'll miss them when I no longer have them. To all my past teachers, and those to come, I thank you for setting me on this path. And I will not forsake it. Not after knowing that you all have lead me to where I am.
As a teacher I know the feeling. That moment when one of your students succeeds in a way they never thought they could. The joy in your heart is beyond words and you feel like you want to stop the whole world and say ‘look at this child, just look at this child.’
My math teacher spent £470 on basic maths supplies such as calculators, whiteboards, compasses, protractors and much more people give teachers a rough time but I truly do think of them as hero's if anyone was to complain about anything i only complain about the education system because it is incredibly flawed 1. It places lots of stress on both teachers and students. 2. "These (standardized) tests are too crude to be used and should be abandoned." Frederick.J.Kelly inventor of standardized tests 3. Because of many governments schools have had heavy budget cuts such as my own hence why my teacher spent nearly £500 on basic equipment.
Stay for the peel porn Pls reminds me of my grade 7 teacher who mainly taught science and was good at science who spent about $20K+ I think for technologies inside the classroom and even when someone broke one of the things he bought which costed thousands he replaced it by buying another... He was a nice and amazing teacher definitely deserves double his pay.
Being a teacher is bloody hard. The workload is large, funding and supplies are short, students are often under-motivated, the pressure to secure exam results is now firmly on the teacher, the government regularly shift the goalposts and teachers are often the one group of civil servants that the public doesn't rally in support of... But I wouldn't do anything else (and not just because of the holidays). Teaching a subject you love and watching young people become the adults they'll grow up to be is fabulous. I'll take the hardships and fork out for a few packs of green pens to be part of that 👍
My best teachers were: My high school tech teacher Mr Jones, who was engaging and funny and always kept everyone motivated by telling people they'd make progress and be able to succeed. He even pulled some strings for me because I was moving right after term finished and so ordinarily wouldn't be able to get my project back, so he personally contacted the examination board to tweak the rules for me so I could take it home. My high school IT teacher, Mr Sharp, who initially sparked my interest for computing by changing it from the dull-sounding thing it did to something I'd like to do for my career (and I'm now studying Applied Computing at university) Then 2 of my lecturers; Paul Tanner and Robin Tankard, the former who always goes out his way to make sure the class are understanding the course, and does what he can to help us out, and the latter who teaches with an exceptional passion that makes the courses he teaches fascinating regardless of subject matter by drawing on his own experiences, and maintains his analogies even across lessons so we don't get confused with what his point is. In the very rare chance any of you read this, thank you
My mum was a teacher but she’s now at home raising the little ones. One day while I was at school I heard some lads in my class being very rude and then saying disrespectful stuff right to my teachers face. She took it as if it was nothing which shocked me so I stood up and shouted at the top of my voice at those bastards(this is pretty much exactly what I said): “How dare you disrespect her! She works damn hard for your sake, staying up until the wee hours of the morning just for your education, just to be paid far too less than she deserves! She does this job so you can have a future. If you think that that is anything less than amazing then you should be thrown out of this class and you’ll damn deserve it if you don’t succeed! And if you do then you should thank her.” Because of my mum being a teacher I’m passionate that every last one should be respected. And in all honesty, if I caught someone disrespecting my mum I would have probably killed them.
As the others have said this story seems almost fictional but I'll take it as truth and say that you are good person. It must have taken bravery to stand up for that teacher and I respect you for it.
It's not the most important job in the world, it ranks very low on the list compared to garbage disposal workers, doctors, nurses, EMTs, construction workers an etc. I don't consider teaching a job its an occupation.
Well without teachers it would be very difficult for alot of people to become doctors or construction workers etc because they would not have learned the things they needed to to do those jobs.
@@genericname8727 So real doctors with good instincts dont need to actually know how to treat diseases if they have good instincts? How could they just tell if someone has cancer or one of millions of internal issues just by instincts?
One of The worst thing for teachers (I'm guessing as a student) are kids who don't listen, shout all the time and do do anything. Those people just annoy everyone...
When those other school children were crying with pride, I knew that THEY had been taught well also. To be patient - to be compassionate - and to be part of a team, that succeeds together. What an astounding last segment. Absolutely lovely. I am so proud of my fellow teachers (and students!) ☺☺☺
I used to have a maths teacher who would give chocolate and crisps to students who did well in class or didn't have any lunch, he ran a lot of other after school clubs and revision sections for students who were struggling or just didn't want to go home. He got told he had to stop doing so much extra work and to stop giving the kids food, we don't know what happened to him but he left after only being at the school a year.
Most probably because the parents complained to the School. Sadly it doesn't matter what good intentions the teacher may of had, as soon as one Parent complains its curtains.
@@SiBanstead89 I find that to be so unfair though because teachers are so under appreciated. I also had a maths teacher that would gives all a treat on Friday's because we've all worked hard. What I loved too is that if he didn't have sweets, he'd give us fruit or veg instead.
@@kpopgoblin6590 If teachers gave out fruit and veg as a reward then no sane parent would take umbridge with that! Parents would be like "wow...they are eating proper food!" but again sadly, if teachers dont follow to the letter what they have been told to do, then parents and governors will find away of getting them out, even if the kids are being well respected and looked after and are receiving a good education. To alot of schools etc, its all about how they look in ofsted reports etc.
This is so true now as well. In this unprecedented time, teachers are working harder than normal to look after vulnerable and key worker children. I know of one head who's had parents shout at them that they need to look after kids when they don't qualify. But there's also a huge amount of logistics to work out with these vulnerable children and families. Helping them to get their free school meal vouchers, sending round worksheets and packs for those without Internet access, and pastorally looking out for families they're worried about, are just some of the extra things these amazing individuals are having to do. The stress on them is immense at the moment, especially with getting used to a new way of working when we've had no time to prepare for it. Teachers have and always will be incredible and deserve a load of praise, then and now.
My Mum teaches year 3 she leaves the house at 7am and gets home a 6pm and then does another 3 hours of marking and it is so hard to see how hard it is on her, the pay is ridiculously low ! We struggle. She loves being a teacher but the killer is the paper work and he overly complicated marking systems (they just take up so much time).
Musharaf conquering his stammer has to be one of the most affecting things ever broadcast on British telly. His teacher's expression when the King's Speech technique starts to work is fucking priceless. Musharaf's bravery at the assembly could bring a tear to a glass eye, and as for his teachers' and peers' reactions... 😭 Good on you Musharaf. Shine on.
This was in year 7 of high school but similar. I had this form tutor and my friend didn't eat much, this hero Brought her food every day and remember when she brought her chocolate and she had never had one, her face lit up. She was the best teacher ever
Well, the Defence against the Dark Arts post was never an easy one to fill, (if I recall correctly there was a new teacher every year), and then you have to consider every tenth student wants to turn you into a yak, the fact you work longer hours than doctors and farmers, you have to be Hermione in every subject just to BE one, and besides that, who wants to be at Hogwarts without Dumbledore or McGonagall?
I was sat in the front row with my girlfriend, it was her 21st Birthday and you said Happy birthday to her and spoke some desperately broken German to her. I just want to thank you for being so awesome and genuine, you really made her day. Keep being awesome Mr Howard :D
Rachael Baldock when the education system is designed to just shit out people who can do tests but not necessarily actual practical skills that's what you get
I had an art teacher that was mean to me and lied to my mum, I had a music teacher that didn't care, I had a child protection teacher tell me I'm lying but I had the best form tutor and that made school worth it.
2 Professors, identical PHDs in heavily practical focused degrees. One will outright lie to you about what he expects you to make, the other will tell you, no, go back to this previous bit there was something wrong there, let's correct that then move on. Thankfully I currently have the good one for my Major project.
Ive had some shitty teachers but same I had the best form tutor EVER however he left but I got him stuff and honestly I cried so much...my maths teacher left too...they were the only people I could speak to but now I have a new form tutor whos nice and ive been spending more time with my old art teacher who now helps me with depression and stuff...its good to have someone you can trust at school
My parents are both teachers. Some teachers are 'bad' because they get payed fuck all, so don't feel like they should have to try hard in lessons or mark homework etc. Some because they're suffering from some sort of mental health illness due to teaching being one of the hardest and most stressful jobs in the world. They feel like shit the whole time, and find it hard to do a good lesson. Some teachers may struggle because it is one of the hardest jobs in the world. I mean seriously you try getting 30+ kids to be engaged and on task for an hour, whilst also making a lesson valuable to them and fun. You can't blame teachers, the education system is fucked, and it will only get worse due to the further cuts to education. This means lower salaries to the already awful salary, plus larger class sizes, meaning more stress for teachers and the students will learn less.
Last year I was in Spanish and our teacher was pregnant and the class wouldn’t shut up and eventually she ran out of the room crying and I just thought to myself “well great job you idiots just made a pregnant woman cry because of your ignorance” and it made me so mad how none of them cared
It's really depressing because if you ever defend a teacher on anything in school, or just simply avoid misbehaving in their classes, you get called insults like "nerd" and "teacher's pet". It's seen as uncool. For my first few years of secondary school I was that student. That teacher's pet. It's the main reason why I was never exactly popular
My science teacher is honestly one of my favorite people. Christmas 2019, brought in dozens of presents for kids who don't have many at home. My theatre teacher (2 yrs ago) bought cookies, hot cocoa, tea, etc. for a theatre performace where we weren't able bring anything in. Teachers are some of the best people in the world; we all need to treat them better.
Bloody Nora Russell, that last bit made me cry, I cheered along with the rest of the kids and teachers. They are talking about trying to implement a 12 hour school day here in Australia, can you imagine the mental health of those poor teachers having to work on this trial?
I'm a special needs teaching assistant. I absolutely love my job, but the teacher in my class is so wonderful. She is there from around 7:30 am till 6 or 7pm, then she takes work home to do for the next day. Respect for all teaching staff.
My science teacher has cerebral palsey, and he went to my school when he was a student, he was the reason they installed lifts, and he went on to graduate cambridge, some kids still make fun of him for speaking and walking weird, but he still puts his heart and soul into preparing them for the future. That is a fucking hero right there
My college tutor was amazing and because I couldn’t afford it she bought me a notebook for my coursework and gave me £3.50 every day for food. Now I have a food bursary so it’s okay but she even helped me find a little job so I could pay for my own pens/books and when I’ve struggled with it she rang them up and explained things out for me so everyone was understanding about my mental health and struggles with money and things 🥺😢❤️
Neeva C Vlogs She really is I swear she’s an angel sent from Heaven, so sweet and understanding. She also cuts you a lot of slack for mental health because her husband killed himself and she found him with her two daughters bless her. She’s got a heart of gold and honestly one of the most amazing and inspiring person I’ve ever met 🥺😭❤️
My mum appreciates my primary school teachers so much that when I was there and even now when I'm in college my mum gets them presents, Easter eggs ect on festive occasions every year as they all worked with my family as we all went to the same primary school.
I am a teacher and I was accused of ''emotional child abuse'' because I (according to the accusation) ''didn't make enough personal contact with the child''.
That child is so pure. He kept going. He didn't let his stammer stop him. But it was his classmates that got me. It makes me so proud of my generation when they were cheering for him. I'm actually in tears omg
I'm training to become a primary school teacher and I have had two placements alongside doing my degree and the teachers are expected to get some much done in such little time, it is stressful but the results and seeing those children thrive is rewarding
My mum and dad are teachers and spend so long in school and working with their pupils. They don't have to do what they do but they do it for the kids. It really makes me appreciate all teachers
We need to fund/look after the teachers in the UK, just look at the other countrys who have actually put their funding into the education sector they’re doing bloody well (eg denmark, Sweden, the netherlands ect) kids in the uk have some of the higest depression rates in the world, lets start actually trying to help them and give them a better future?

I read things like this and wonder what the hell you're talking about. I was told I was dumb until I got into post-secondary when a teacher told me I was pretty sharp. @@rbanerjee605 is that really your reply to that comment? Really...?
What grade? That’s a fairly normal class size for some of the basic level general education classes, in universities over here in the United States. If the 71 students isn’t in a university and in a basic general education class, then that is horrible and terrifying.

This is the sort of shit that teachers have to put up with in 2018.
woodsmccloud well said and teachers are one of the most influential people in a child lives that treatment is unfair and undeserved whereas shitty public figures like the kardashians are millionaires

i had a recent case where my teacher didn't leave crying or anything but because the class was so unruly they had to leave for the rest of the lesson to try and cope/ find a member of staff that would command respect better, before that point multiple other staff members who were on patrol had to come in to tell the class to quite down, another incident was with my biolohy teacher last school year who had such a hard time getting the class to listen and when she said that humans are animals some students were saying that she was being offensive, but it's the truth, if you know anything about the classification of life humans are classed as mamals, which are a type of animal. and in both cases i find it deeply upsetting that teachers have to deal with such bad behaviour

As an ex-teacher, thank you for this! It's mad how few people recognise the labour of love that teaching is. You pour your whole soul into your work for the greater good and very seldom get thanked.
Doubt any teacher's felt this about me, but my teachers are great and I want them all to know how fantastic they are.

1. It places lots of stress on both teachers and students.
2. "These (standardized) tests are too crude to be used and should be abandoned." Frederick.J.Kelly inventor of standardized tests
3. Because of many governments schools have had heavy budget cuts such as my own hence why my teacher spent nearly £500 on basic equipment.

I'll take the hardships and fork out for a few packs of green pens to be part of that 👍
My best teachers were:
My high school tech teacher Mr Jones, who was engaging and funny and always kept everyone motivated by telling people they'd make progress and be able to succeed. He even pulled some strings for me because I was moving right after term finished and so ordinarily wouldn't be able to get my project back, so he personally contacted the examination board to tweak the rules for me so I could take it home.
My high school IT teacher, Mr Sharp, who initially sparked my interest for computing by changing it from the dull-sounding thing it did to something I'd like to do for my career (and I'm now studying Applied Computing at university)
Then 2 of my lecturers; Paul Tanner and Robin Tankard, the former who always goes out his way to make sure the class are understanding the course, and does what he can to help us out, and the latter who teaches with an exceptional passion that makes the courses he teaches fascinating regardless of subject matter by drawing on his own experiences, and maintains his analogies even across lessons so we don't get confused with what his point is.

My mum was a teacher but she’s now at home raising the little ones. One day while I was at school I heard some lads in my class being very rude and then saying disrespectful stuff right to my teachers face. She took it as if it was nothing which shocked me so I stood up and shouted at the top of my voice at those bastards(this is pretty much exactly what I said):
“How dare you disrespect her! She works damn hard for your sake, staying up until the wee hours of the morning just for your education, just to be paid far too less than she deserves! She does this job so you can have a future. If you think that that is anything less than amazing then you should be thrown out of this class and you’ll damn deserve it if you don’t succeed! And if you do then you should thank her.”
Because of my mum being a teacher I’m passionate that every last one should be respected. And in all honesty, if I caught someone disrespecting my mum I would have probably killed them.

teacher Burton and the school kids crying made me cry, what a wonderful teacher and supportive students
King's speech is a great movie
The King's Speech is a great film.
Man, when the other students were tearing up that got me in the feels!
TBH a teacher is one of the most important jobs in the wold
It's not the most important job in the world, it ranks very low on the list compared to garbage disposal workers, doctors, nurses, EMTs, construction workers an etc. I don't consider teaching a job its an occupation.
Well without teachers it would be very difficult for alot of people to become doctors or construction workers etc because they would not have learned the things they needed to to do those jobs.
@@genericname8727 So real doctors with good instincts dont need to actually know how to treat diseases if they have good instincts? How could they just tell if someone has cancer or one of millions of internal issues just by instincts?
Generic Name "I can smell cancer" fuck off mate 😂😂😂😂😂 I don't mean to be rude but you can't really blame me for having such a brisk reaction.
Paradise Of The Falls who teaches those people
One of The worst thing for teachers (I'm guessing as a student) are kids who don't listen, shout all the time and do do anything. Those people just annoy everyone...
Most of the kids in my class do that.
No everyone loves me for poop sake
Eddie at The LMV neek
Gaming Challenges when you have no job you will be poor..what’s worse being a neek or poor
Just like my classes! I left secondary last year and I swear I wanted to kill all my classmates!
Parents would be like "wow...they are eating proper food!"
but again sadly, if teachers dont follow to the letter what they have been told to do, then parents and governors will find away of getting them out, even if the kids are being well respected and looked after and are receiving a good education. To alot of schools etc, its all about how they look in ofsted reports etc.
And yet again Russell Howard shows how much of a selfless human being he is by promoting everything else but himself continuously
Challis Knight huh?
That clip makes me cry everytime i watch it, its amazing!
Bethany Rhiannon same happens with my mum and she has to do her emails for about 2 hours.
I acc cried when that kid read his speech
Musharaf conquering his stammer has to be one of the most affecting things ever broadcast on British telly. His teacher's expression when the King's Speech technique starts to work is fucking priceless. Musharaf's bravery at the assembly could bring a tear to a glass eye, and as for his teachers' and peers' reactions... 😭 Good on you Musharaf. Shine on.
Blame Jake Paul.

Edit: alot more than just these
This was in year 7 of high school but similar. I had this form tutor and my friend didn't eat much, this hero Brought her food every day and remember when she brought her chocolate and she had never had one, her face lit up. She was the best teacher ever
teachers are wizards
Kenya Walsh if they are wizards. Are they the dropouts from hogwarts?
Zane4560 I graduated Hogwarts with honors, thanks.
I'm watching this 6 years late, but that kid was the most brilliant thing I've seen in ages. I hope he's now a thriving adult with dreams coming true.
Good teachers are vital. Sadly not all teachers are good teachers!
I now feel really sorry for my teacher having to deal with my class.
Well yeah, no shit ^^
The end was extraordinary I was just speechless ,so heart warming
Last year I was in Spanish and our teacher was pregnant and the class wouldn’t shut up and eventually she ran out of the room crying and I just thought to myself “well great job you idiots just made a pregnant woman cry because of your ignorance” and it made me so mad how none of them cared
that's the same with my teacher but was in geography
I'm crying

Or 0800 1111
Same..
Vijay Ani yeah me too damn that was deep
It's really depressing because if you ever defend a teacher on anything in school, or just simply avoid misbehaving in their classes, you get called insults like "nerd" and "teacher's pet". It's seen as uncool.
For my first few years of secondary school I was that student. That teacher's pet. It's the main reason why I was never exactly popular
I'm crying now, btw, thanks. That boy with the stutter... his classmates reactions say everything. He couldn't do that before. #DoBetterForOurTeachers
As a future teacher and current teacher’s assistant, this fills me with both joy and dread.
That was beautiful at the end. I cired
That scene made me cry too! 😭❤️ We need more people like that in the world and we need to start appreciating [our] teachers more.
Thank you Russell for sticking up for us teachers !!!!
That is a fucking hero right there
I've actually got tears in my eyes from watching that brave lad talking in front of an audience. Bless him
I cried!! That teacher is amazing
She sounds absolutely amazing!♡
That bullshit man
That teacher is brilliant
The students were crying
There all so proud of him especially Mr Burton
That child is so pure. He kept going. He didn't let his stammer stop him. But it was his classmates that got me. It makes me so proud of my generation when they were cheering for him. I'm actually in tears omg
Mr Burton is AWESOME!
I'm training to become a primary school teacher and I have had two placements alongside doing my degree and the teachers are expected to get some much done in such little time, it is stressful but the results and seeing those children thrive is rewarding
How is the teaching going?
you must inform us
I'm not crying, you are crying. The look on that man's face as that kid started to talk was pure emotion. What a man
I cried when they kid started speaking. Aw, he had such an amazing teacher.
PokeMe That scene made me cry too! 😭❤️ We need more people like that in the world and we need to start appreciating [our] teachers more.
That kid made me cry I was so happy for him
My mum and dad are teachers and spend so long in school and working with their pupils.
