Learning wave dash and Electric is difficult. Implementing them into your gameplay is difficult. If the Mishimas aren't difficult, nobody in this game is.

When I went to college I learned about the Dunning-Kruger effect. This is an extremely subjective view riddled with the DK effect. On one hand you have every statistic, pro, and dev team (which is why Kaz got major buffs) acknowledging this character struggling and difficult. On the other hand you have a top 1 percent player (who also creates content on tekken and also pilots another difficult character) taking the Kazuya to practice, naming and executing a few moves pretty well calling the character easy. This is an intellectually dishonest opinion. I acknowledge your skills on the sticks, you’re far better than me. But this video doesn’t highlight any of the things that make Kazuya difficult.
I've never played Kazuya, but Steve WAS hard to play now he's made far easier. Steve used to be a character that required a huge amount of skill to play, now they made him as masher friendly as many other characters. At least he's kinda predictable when we fight against him.
Fr, I played a bit of older tekkens but T8 was the first one I grinded. I got to TG woh Steve and never felt those claims of his difficulty of use (maybe I’m just used to him idk). I jumped to T7 and a lot of his stuff is harder. His standard bnbs and Gatling to name a few, and of course the shiro combo. I think he is more hard in his gameplay approach rather than the skill it self to pilot him.
most kazuyas online are also playing pc with macroed electrics and wavedashing, and/or on kbd & leverless, and still yapping how "difficult muh kazuya is" xD
finally somebody said it. Kazuya's been one of the most braindead characters in the game since S2 of T7 tbh. every hit is a safe normal hit knockdown mid into 50/50 oki. end combo with electric -> 50/50 oki. Land hellsweep -> get 50/50 oki. ff4 grounded hit into 50/50 oki. No fundamentals required, poking not required - slot machines the character. hardest thing Kazuya neckbeards point to is perfect electric after d/f2, which every green rank Kazuya masters, cause all they practice is execution, then they go into ranked and lose every match cause all they do is practice execution, and not how to actually play the game, and they cry to Harada and Murray for more buffs.
execution they dont even need in this game, CH df2 perfect electric is a fancy stuff to show off, he can get almost half life combo without that and without walls after CH df2 with a doodoo execution combo with CD 1+2, 1243, etc...
There are no hard characters in this game. You can make every character work with a small effort. You can make the game harder for yourself, and some characters give a straight way to doing that like really difficult (but often unnecessary) inputs or matchup specific counters (that you could also do easily without). The whole conversation around which character is difficult is pretty dumb when you think about it honestly. You could be the most cracked player ever with an "easy character" and some idiot is going to think you suck because you don't play kazuya.
I'm kinda afraid to run into Kazuya, it's as if I see LTG on my loading screen getting ready to 1&done and proceed to shit on whatever character I play today lol
@ I’m of the opinion that absolutely no character is hard to play if you understand them & your playstyle meshes well with them with practice I’m relatively still pretty new to fg’s from a competitive standpoint. I play shaheen, raven & ganryu. Raven is considered one of the hardest characters in the game but I can play him very efficiently not b/c my “execution” is crazy but b/c I put in the time to learn the character properly. His backturn is a bit of a learning curve but he doesn’t have any execution kind of barriers imo I also think shaheen is hard to win with not b/c of execution but more in like a you gotta hard read a lot with him So Mishima, Jin, Bryan & Steve players need to stop with that dumbass execution excuse
Love your content, but have you tried using him against good players and not just in practice mode? Lee combos are very easy for me to do, but it doesn't mean I'm good with him in matches.
@fightinggm What I'm saying is it's easy to do electrics and stuff in practice but hard to do wavu and electrics, and IWS moves fast when you want to under pressure against good opponents, and that's where the difficulty comes in, but I respect you, bro, and you're right I'm not a good player. I know that.
@@fightinggm Watched the fight vs Kazuya he was nowhere near your level and couldn't put you under pressure. Good video though regardless, you are one of the best players in the game, so it doesn't surprise me.
People forget that Kazuya's ff2 use to be a high and was very linear, which required Kazuya players to think if they want to get in. Them making it a mid and impossible to step made the character braindead asf. making it a heat engager was the icening on the cake to move Mishima players further into the special ed. category. 🤣
@ still doesn't mean you can perform well with the character whether if it's ranked or in real matches. If kazuya only relied in wavedashing and electrics, there'd be plenty kazuyas out there which is definitely not the case...
As a new player, Kazuya has been the easiest Mishima to pick up and play lmao. Being able to do the frame perfect 2 at ANY time during the Mist Step stance makes electrics crazy easy. Literal "Take-&-Bake PEWGF's", no heat needed. Whereas I don't think I've consciously hit a real electric as Jin without doing the breaking step stance yet Kazuya is fun as hell to play, but I hate how the general cocensus I hear about him is how he's either a braindead top tier or the fundememtals underdog
I can tell you exactly why this Bryan player wasn’t taking his frames. Bryan doesn’t get enough frame advantage to do anything but poke or sidestep on hit. Getting launched after landing a hit as a Bryan player is very common, EVERYONE challenges Bryan after hatchet and every other move because his turn is essentially over if it’s not a launch. Much kudos to this Bryan for learning and adapting to that. He does need to take his frames to poke from time to time tho.
Kazuya has a limited move set so of course he’s gonna use the same moves over and over again. It’s about mixing up the timing to throw your opponents off
@@fightinggmif you know the cast and have a good execution than yea it’s “easy”. If you don’t than it’s not, which most beginner and intermediate players don’t have (most of who the player fan base consist of) It’s literally in the numbers that Kazuya player has the lowest win rate online
one could argue that he's difficult because everyone knows the Kazuya matchup and counter play, but is the counter play actually easy when he can whiff-spam safe launchers at will and all he needs is one confirmed hit to win the game? is the counter play easy when he barely risks anything while you're taking all the risks all the time ??....weak argument if u ask me. anyone who mastered EWGF spam can beat anyone, if u can spam this move at will you can beat players who are levels above you, because this move is the best attack in the game and that's all u need
Barely risks anything? lmfao if you guess right he gets launched in to a full combo. I don't even main the mfker but c'mon he does take some risks with Kazino.
This video was hilarious! Btw I honestly believe a series where u get some of these other characters up in the ranks just to prove your point would be extremely entertaining to watch
For those who don't know, EWGF after T7 season 2 and 3 was buffed, it recovers faster and tracks better. Mishima's used to be technical to play, but have been slowly dumbed down. He was harder in previous games.
@@G-R-IE-IE-D well said, the issue is everyone wants to act like they have it "harder" when in reality they are just scrubs. Including me. Like every character is easy in this game.

Ppl also say Bryan is hard, MFER IS NOT HARD. The only thing that’s hard is taunt jet upper, the rest of the character is piss easy and the YOU DONT EVEN NEED TO DO IT TO WIN. Sure it’s the icing on the cake but I see Bryan’s win all the time without even doing it. Tmm was taking games off pgf without using taunt jet upper. Bryan is MADDD overrated imo
@@IzuMido-t1mI agree on underwhelming. That also in turn makes it tougher to play him because he has zero panic moves in an overly offensive game. His PC is a slow high with terrible tracking. He’s got no way to steel a turn, make you respect that it’s his turn and he doesn’t even maintain his turn aka no pressure. Brother that’s difficult. His combos have to always be adjusted for opponent position and location on the stage, nobody has to know as many combo routes as Bryan players. You simply cannot pick him and play the game like you can with most if not all other characters.
@@BustaNAugusta I don't know about that panic move thing mate, I've got my mids crushed by his Orbital's wonky hitbix a few times, sure, it's not Lars Orbital level evasion, but it's enough to where I can't rule out the possibility of it happening. T8 Kaz is the easiest version of Kaz to play. Obviously the high skill cap is still there if you want to be optimal, but the minimum skill needed to pilot him decently is definitely way lower. You don't even need to rely on electrics outside of df2 combos and 13 frame punishment. Knockdown into wavedash 50/50 oki pressure with Kaz is now easier than ever to implement thanks to his many good buttons. FF2, CD 1+2, FF3, Hell sweep, iws1,2, etc.. He actually has so many good buttons in this game. Kazuya's heat is also pretty damn good with all his extensions and awesome heat dash options. Not the easiest character to play sure, but we need to face the fact that he isn't as hard to play as before✌
I have lots of respect for you gm , but are you saying that kazuya completely takes no skill ?compared to the rest of the cast ? Is he not top 5 difficulty atleast ?, if so i would love to hear more
all he said is that Kazuya's difficulty is mad overrated which is true, personally I've been saying Kazuya is braindead af since T7 season 2... chararacter with 3 moves rotation barely any thinking needed
I didn't say that. I said he isnt super duper hard to play. Nobody in tekken 8 is hard to play. Some dude was glazing kaz saying all kaz players have more skill then anyone else
Every Tekken 8 character is easy to play honestly. Kazuya has always been pretty simple on top of that. I can't really speak on how things are at higher Tekken 8 levels since I barely play the game. It seem all about 50/50s and trying to get huge plus frames on block. But I do remember GM saying he used to play Heihachi. To what degree, I can't remember. I'd say Reina is the most difficult Mishima in Tekken 8.
@@arielcastillo3513 not sure how you can play kazuya without electric, how will you launch for your simple combo? Ff3 is good if you can get them to duck, but its slow as hell and can be stepped if you're too predictable. Outside of that, he has no other normal hit standing launchers. You can fish for ch launchers if you get consistent reads on your opponents timing, but thats honestly just harder than learning and throwing out electrics.
Kazuya was hard before they made him super scrubby in T8 like they did with most characters lol. ff2 and having to guess round start between df2 and d1+2 zzz
This is how i feel when ppl say ling is hard😂 Ive never played an easier more carried character in my life. Her oki makes resets literally braindead for you
TMM has single headedly gaslighted people into thinking that Kazuya is hard when he literally has the easiest game plan in the game. We gotta stop pretending that wave dashing and doing electrics is hard for anybody who played more than 200 hours of tekken.
"Simple" gameplan does not mean its "easy" to execute. It goes both ways, the burden on the opponent is much lower since they know all your shit too. Also instead out touting ignorance, go rank up Kazuya to see for yourself, doing electrics and wavedashing isn't what makes Kazuya hard.
People say kaz is so difficult cuz of perfect electric and combo cancellation shit but u really dont have to do that with him if u want to win he already has a huge combo damage with his simplest combos
Doing the most elite mishima techniques in the game, whilst being 108 years old? GM clearly fizzlin'. Has to be macros, there's definetely *no other explanation* . What's next, he can pull off Jin's 2,1 into 2,1
the superiority complex of kaz players is crazy considering he has the best punishment, oki for mixups and he benefits the MOST from tekken 8 bs 😂 having a 13f ws launcher is his identity apparently
ive seen a lot of these Kaz fanboys complaining about hes ws12 having crappy range, like they also want the move to launch you from a mile away when he literally bans more than 90% of most characters lows and even practically 100% of the lows of some characters like Dragunov, he launches all Lee's lows except for db3 and d4 for example.
Tekken really does put into perspective what is considered easy and hard. As a new fighting game player, I struggled my ass to not even achieve 50% consistency on electrics, and the char is not even hard execution wise. Guess I chose the wrong game
It's not playing Kazuya that's hard, it's having consistent electrics and that's it. You can still have OD EWGF punishment but still means nothing if you don't know how to play real Tekken. Everyone is a 50/50 machine with varying effectiveness and KYSG combos now so anyone can pick him up and spam mids and lows to mixup all day.
5:17 - 5:23 Hot take but that’s probably why it’s easy for you lol On the other hand, why is keisuke the only one using him in tournaments? Kaz is really strong, try him in a tournament GM!
I say Kazuya is hard to get decent at for newcomers and maybe some intermediate players, the majority though could probs pick him up in a shorter time than others
Kazuya is indeed hard to play. To have success with with him, you need to play with a lot of inspiration. There is a reason only Keisuke can bring him to Top 8s. You need to be creative. Otherwise you become predictable real quick
Flipping a coin get repetitive not predictable. There are a lot of characters that don't even get to top 8, so there is a lot to swallow if you want to keep that argument.
2:34 nah GM is cold. Did yall see those electrics 😮he should play a character with infamously hard execution and maybe go on to win multiple tournaments with him, he’d be OD if he did that 🤣
Big fan of your channel, gameplay and takes. But I respectfully disagree that kazuya isn't challenging to pilot. He's one misinput away from losing the entire round. It is one thing to wavu and electric in practice mode, it is another to CONSISTENTLY implement them into your online gameplay.
The reactions to this should make some spicy content Edit: saying I do not play this and doing the wavu and iws12 obviously means he's lying or has played Kaz in the past and is familiar with his moves.
tbh the only hard characters in tkk8 are the ones that suks, this game is busted, everyone doing crazy shi, kaz only hard stuff is pewgf, which you don't need it, so yea overrated difficulty character (Im a kaz main btw), also although nina has some crazy dumb shi, she is no easy pick and play, BUT you could definitely run her and win some mad games with a couple flowcharts and bnb combos against people that are way better than you at tekken core.
No one is disagreeing with you that complete new players will get the most reward out of a character like Paul. Moreso, the context is overrated in terms of execution (which is mostly true).
No kaz main in their right mind has db2 as a move to use because it’s useless af and 18 frames on start up, not even a low 😂 but I will say, Lee is harder to use.
Yea try to do those strings, oh they are duckable, oh well then i'll just sway to the side, welp those mids can track you, f maybe try to set up a ch? NO F YOU CAUSE YOLO ARMOUR OR SOME OTHER BS. You can't play Steve safely anymore 😢
I can tell you don’t play him lol. Nothing you demonstrated here displays why he’s the hardest character in the game. We’re literally talking physics here. At Tekken god and up, there’s no one more difficult. One word: consistency. 1 dropped electric can mean the difference between winning and losing EVO. You’re not dropping a df2 launch. Consistency is why kazuya is so hard. He’s a walking misinput. Even keisuke drops shit every single round he plays in tournament because kazuya is kazuya. Is kazuya the easiest he’s ever been? Yes. Is he insanely strong in T8? Yes, absolutely. Is he the hardest character in T8 despite being the easiest version of himself? Yes. It’s not about opinions, dude. We’re discussing things like “is the Sun hot, does water make things wet, is kazuya exceptionally difficult to pilot”.
IN TErms of execution kazuya is not the hardest but hes still up there with his df2 perfect electric and whiff punishment and block punishment with the electric , also the wave dash , in terms of gameplan i think hes at the top too his tools are very good but they are also very limited im not sure if hes harder than lee but one thing for sure hes up there at the top

Kazuya in T8 is the easiest kazuya in the history of TEKKEN

Yeah but no one plays those dead games anymore it's a new era. saying it's all easy compared to older games barely any of the current fan base has played don't do nothing, besides rub people the wrong way.
"Oh back in my day before you were born that shit was OD" "Oh you weren't born then fr? then you gotta just get Kaz to GoD Rank cuz he was much harder back then, just get good at the easier game that doesn't teach you how to get good and force you to do 50/50's" "Oh you want me to show you how to play kaz? nah I'm good, I'm not a kazuya player but he's easy tho"
The difficult thing is doing electric at any point during the wavedash and consistently
Which you hardly even see from pro players doing(not that they can't) so it's not to being good or knowing how to play him
Im tryna learn kazuya and this mf just flexed on me like dat? Ya hearuuuud?
1:53 sounded like he was about to spit a Kanye flow “wave dash wave dash wave dash wave dash wave dash OK! Kazuya mains think he hard and I said NO WAY” 😂
Yeah...don't let a 20+ year pro Lee tell you that things he can do easily aren't difficult to learn. Nobody jumps on the sticks and plays Kazuya like that. Learning wave dash and Electric is difficult. Implementing them into your gameplay is difficult. If the Mishimas aren't difficult, nobody in this game is.
Exactly lol 😂…I only starting getting good at electrics last year and I was playing on and off since T7. And this is practice mode, doing wave dashes and electrics in ranked is way different
Yea, Kazuya is mostly 50/50s and carried by his devil form, like Lee doesn't have really good defensive tools that makes him hard to approach

I think he is more hard in his gameplay approach rather than the skill it self to pilot him.
steve is probably harder to play now considering that almost everything was nerfed, but he got less technical stuff now so hes easier on execution
@@b0ost3rz perfectly said
most kazuyas online are also playing pc with macroed electrics and wavedashing, and/or on kbd & leverless, and still yapping how "difficult muh kazuya is" xD
finally somebody said it.
FAAAAAACTS
I hope that bs character gets nerfed to the ground because the Kazino Royal needs to stop.
I agree tbh, especially all they do is practice execution, which u don’t even really need for T8 Kaz.
"perfect electric after df2, which every green rank masters" okay lets not get ahead of ourselves
*TMM WATCHES IN GRIEF MAKES A VIDEO*: lee pro player says kazuya is easy
I agree with ya, T8 Kazuya can just spam CD1+2, hellsweep, and ff2, unlike T7 Kazuya which requires skills and execution
I can’t stand the elitist mentality of Mishima, Bryan and Steve players
Most of that player base are super cry babies
if they want to play really hard character they should play akira in vf5 or any old street fighter with their 1 frame link.
I'm kinda afraid to run into Kazuya, it's as if I see LTG on my loading screen getting ready to 1&done and proceed to shit on whatever character I play today lol
@ I’m of the opinion that absolutely no character is hard to play if you understand them & your playstyle meshes well with them with practice
I’m relatively still pretty new to fg’s from a competitive standpoint. I play shaheen, raven & ganryu. Raven is considered one of the hardest characters in the game but I can play him very efficiently not b/c my “execution” is crazy but b/c I put in the time to learn the character properly. His backturn is a bit of a learning curve but he doesn’t have any execution kind of barriers imo
I also think shaheen is hard to win with not b/c of execution but more in like a you gotta hard read a lot with him
So Mishima, Jin, Bryan & Steve players need to stop with that dumbass execution excuse
They can be dicks but it is objectively true that they are high execution characters

Facts. Kazuya takes some practice to get down the execution but once you get that down it is way too easy.
As a new player, Kazuya has been the easiest Mishima to pick up and play lmao.
Being able to do the frame perfect 2 at ANY time during the Mist Step stance makes electrics crazy easy. Literal "Take-&-Bake PEWGF's", no heat needed.
Whereas I don't think I've consciously hit a real electric as Jin without doing the breaking step stance yet
Kazuya is fun as hell to play, but I hate how the general cocensus I hear about him is how he's either a braindead top tier or the fundememtals underdog
It’s about mixing up the timing to throw your opponents off
Yea and that's madd easy to do
@@fightinggmif you know the cast and have a good execution than yea it’s “easy”.

4:03 did that dude in your chat really say "Try Nina ss1 cancels"? Bruh that shit is easy!!!
Now Nina butterfly loops, thats another story......
Ff2, hellsweep, stature kick, ff4 d1+2 and a simple combo are all you need with this char. Wavu or electrics are just an extra but not needed.

We gotta stop pretending that wave dashing and doing electrics is hard for anybody who played more than 200 hours of tekken.
"Simple" gameplan does not mean its "easy" to execute. It goes both ways, the burden on the opponent is much lower since they know all your shit too. Also instead out touting ignorance, go rank up Kazuya to see for yourself, doing electrics and wavedashing isn't what makes Kazuya hard.

the superiority complex of kaz players is crazy considering he has the best punishment, oki for mixups and he benefits the MOST from tekken 8 bs 😂 having a 13f ws launcher is his identity apparently
ive seen a lot of these Kaz fanboys complaining about hes ws12 having crappy range, like they also want the move to launch you from a mile away when he literally bans more than 90% of most characters lows and even practically 100% of the lows of some characters like Dragunov, he launches all Lee's lows except for db3 and d4 for example.

I say Kazuya is hard to get decent at for newcomers and maybe some intermediate players, the majority though could probs pick him up in a shorter time than others
why the kazuya so clean tf u should do a max rank playthru king
Kazuya is indeed hard to play. To have success with with him, you need to play with a lot of inspiration. There is a reason only Keisuke can bring him to Top 8s. You need to be creative. Otherwise you become predictable real quick
Flipping a coin get repetitive not predictable. There are a lot of characters that don't even get to top 8, so there is a lot to swallow if you want to keep that argument.
@ That is the only argument to be made. Thats how you win with Kazuya. With creativity

Yes.
