2:58 they are referring to landing the heat smash on a breakable wall. Once the wall broke, it was difficult to do a pickup to continue the combo as the opponent wasn't in combo state for very long.

The thing that saves it for me is that the power crush punish can be input-ed at a reasonable time, you'd have to do it immediately after it connects and was so inconsistent for no reason

Why don't just make it not track and let it - 8 ? Minus 10 I think I could understand but -12... It was one of his only safe good moves to keep the opponent out. i completely agree with you, people including PHidX was crying like a little girl, he is completely nerfed, everything is a high except his fff2, which gives plus frames, df14 is minus on block, as well as 4,1 if people are ducking the 4,4 phx shift, he just had one move which was minus on block and making that linear as well as -12 on block completely destroys clive's game, i was a tekken emperor with him, but fuck it, ill never play him again, yoshi, nina, drag, they continue to pressure like crazy and this all fine, good job motherfuckers.

The heatsmash buff is regarding the wall combos yes. Back then you couldn't combo properly on the wall breaks off Secluded after a heat burst but now you can easily do so
heat smash change does two things before on wall splat it was -10... and the opponent is certain cases got a free toe kick and after a wall break there was a bug that made you have to wait before attacking so B2 wasn't possible
The heat smash one i just experienced it last night Basically what happens is for some weird reason the heat smash when breaking wall or balcony kick the timing for input back a ton I thought i dropped my combos last night but it only happened whenever i use the heat smash so i guess that explains it When i break with any move i know the timing for b2 so i just press it on the same timing every time but with the heat smash Clive just stand there no b2 nothing. I didn't try spamming because my muscles memory tell me to just press it as i normally do but yeah the 4 times i hit my heat smash 3 of them dropped because i press it once, one of them hit because i noticed how i was dropping the b2 so just started spamming
I think people are still learning how to counter him and that puts him up an extra tier than what he really is, should have gave it a bit more time and focused on buffing DJ then nerfing jin and nina Not saying these nerfs aren't warranted, but hes not been out that long and they could have simply changed his prominence to be avoided on side step, doesnt have many safe moves now
His 1+2 is still safe, so is his tornado move also the learning phase to counter was over he was blowing up pros with f1+2 knee got absolutely wrecked vs mulgolds clive by this one move

For all Clives that frustrated with changes, take in mind that ur fighter has not bad bonus as unparryable (for most chars) blade still yet. IMHO mass weapon in Tekken is not so good, back in time of T3 only yoshi had weapon and weap was unblockable 100% (that was more natural), but things changed, weap became blockable and from one side lost him power(and charm), from the other we have more chars with unparryable moves. About range attacks I don't' speak at all.

Maybe they nerfed the move a lot more than necessary, but Clive has a very diverse kit, and other than really good poking, he doesn't lack much as a character. Clive is gonna be fine. Also, sparking zero is a bad example of a game where you just "learn the matchup"... the game is not meant to have any competitive integrity.
