Now that’s one hell of a van! Professionally organized gets the job done, you can find all your tools when you need them! It’s the best promaster van I’ve seen!
Awesome build!! Really like the setup, so much so that I'll prob have to steal a few of your ideas 👍 (chiefly the plywood wall paneling w 2x4's combo). Really appreciate the detailed walkthrough and def my favorite has gotta be the toughsystem hanger hack! I've been on the hunt for a new van and am planning a similar build,. I've already got about a dozen of the TS boxes & there's no way I'm gonna spend another $1000 just to mount them in the van. Thanks for the great idea! ✌
Love the organization and cleanliness. Some build outs are now so excessively done I think they're building them just for the views. Great job Overanalyze.
Your system here is super clean. Ive got a 14' extra tall and lowered axle trailer I just got this year. Im doing research on the tough system van racks, and I think what you've done is better. Thanks for doing a video like this, hopefully I'll do one next year when I get everything figured out how I want it to be
Awesome upfit! Gave me some ideas for my rearranged van. You might already know this, the festool vac has a front wheel lock in front that helps for van travel, it's the green rectangle at the bottom, I only discovered mine by mistake. I really like the dewalt box brackets you created. I'm stuck between Ridgid boxes, L-Boxxes and Systainers, commitment issues I guess. Thanks for posting.
xschultz Thank for watching! I hope it was a useful video. Yeah the lock is ok on the vac but it still can slide around on harder stops. I have quite a few systainers and some L-boxxes as well. The ToughSystem is great for our van for how we use it. I like systainers for my finish tools and obviously all my Festools.
Great storage ideas! What is the model number of those Dewalt drawers? I just bought all new Tough Boxes and the two drawer unit that I have isn’t as nice as the one you have. I’ve never seen that unit before.
Not sure. Mine is the older version. They revamped the 2 drawer unit last year I think. I have had to put our back together a couple of times now. It can separate and the bottom drawer falls down if we hit a big bump hard.
working out of a truck with contractor cap really sucks ass. pull three items out, set on ground to get one item behind it. royal pain in balls. looking forward to growing up and moving into a big boy van. besides i need my truck back to go to the dump etc.
Paint the floor and the shelves. It would increase the durability and keep the wood from rotting. You will be wet and those tools will get wet. Paint is cheap. For the floor you could even do a non-slip.
We used LP's version of Advantech on the floor. The shelves and built ins are all made from UV cure prefinished birch ply. I appreciate the tip but I am not worried about rot ever. The van is stored inside and we don't work in the rain.
Any tips on making those tough system brackets? I don't really have a good spot in my Promaster to put the entire rack system into it but the individual holders would be awesome!
Great van fit out I’m currently looking at a van for my construction business sick of pulling an enclosed trailer with a truck. I have a bunch of the dewalt tough boxes as well and have been trying to get ideas on how to lay them out. Your brackets you have fab up are ingenious anyway you could show a better close up and dimensions of them?
Awesome build, man! I’m jealous. Still rolling in the Chevy Express but am interested in the new high top offerings. How are you liking the Pro Master so far?
Justin Collett still loving it! Working out of it has been so nice. Getting materials is pain free vs a truck or our older E350. Standing up to slide in full sheets of plywood or drywall is awesome. I can't think of much I would change to the setup. It works great for how we work and the type of projects we perform.
Looks great. We just ordered a 2019 same as yours. From a truck F250. I knew we had to get a van eventually:) Do you sell these brackets? If not, why not. Ha... can you send specs? Thanks
You will love it! It is still great to work out of. Whenever I have to go pick up plywood or drywall for a small job I really love the high ceiling and easy loading! I do not sell the brackets but I have another video on UA-cam showing them a little closer.
1:45 Here in Europe Van's have to come with a Wall seperating the cab and cargo area, usually high strength steel welded, i don't think your plywood would hold off all your stuff flying, though maybe this was required in the US. Only way you don't have that seperating wall is if its a mini bus or people carrier.
matty schofield I appreciate your input. I have no concern of the 3/4" plywood failing in a wreck. Almost everything is secured and the plywood is attached to a bulkhead above the seats and the floor. Thanks for watching!
I was a street medic for years and now spend time doing crash rescue at a local NASCAR track. I have treated thousands of patients who have been involved in crashes including some in work vans. Yes you are correct in that a severe crash they plywood "probably" won't be of much help. But if he is involved in a crash that is severe enough to send those tool boxes through multiple layers of shelving he has other issues to worry about at that point. The forces involved in a crash are extreme and you can't make it 100% safe. I've seen commercially made steel partitions fail as well in a crash. Wood is surprisingly resilient. Would like to see him add a door in the partition though.

I just picked up a 2017 ProMaster and am installing LED strip lighting tied into the existing cargo area dome light wiring (specifically the light near the side door), since I also wanted something that timed out and wouldn't run down the battery. What I'm finding is that the dome lights time out after about 3 minutes, but the LED lights take about 15 minutes to turn off (with or without the dome light connected), and that a dim flickering of the LED lights occurs after 15 minutes. I haven't let them sit long enough to know if they eventually turn off completely. Also, upon locking the doors with the remote, the dome lights dim and go out, but the LEDs stay on (not sure for how long). Are you getting the same issues?
@@michaelseamus2112 yes but I would really suggest you check out the ProMaster or Transit. Wouldn't ever go back to a regular van or truck. So nice to work out of and get materials in..
Nice setup! Have you had any issues with the Toughsystem drawer units? I’m deciding between the Toughsystem and Tstak solutions, and while I like the overall Toughsystem plan better, I’ve heard nothing but complaints about the drawer units.
Wms YT page We really haven't. Maybe because ours hang it is better? They do have a newer drawer hjit coming out in the ToughSysgem that looks much nicer. You might want to check those out.
Thanks for the reply! With the amount of bad press the original design was getting, I'd hoped they were making a revision. Everything that i've seen (incl. on the Dewalt site) seems like the old design though... Any idea or links for when the revised design is due to be available? Also, I just talked with live chat on the Dewalt site, and they said they've heard no plans of any updates on the drawer unit design.
Best storage system I’ve seen built in a promaster
nicely executed, I dig the simplicity and the end result. I will be employing some of your ideas for sure.
Thanks so much! Glad you found some things useful! Let me know how your build out ends up!
OMG what a nice, clean and neat build!!! What a joy to be working with the van organized like this! Very good job.
Thank you!

Excellent setup.

A bed slide is a nice upgrade if you have a truck and cap setup. You lose a little space but gain much easier access.

I agree. In a crash a lot of that gear in the back will join you, there's no way is strong enough

Is it loud driving down the road?
Duran Builders LLC no it is not too bad. Seems like depending on temperature we get some squeaks every once in awhile but it really is pretty quiet.
Are those just normal shelf brackets that are holding the tough system?
Yes. I got these at Ace and Menards. Just a heavy duty l bracket I welded and small tab onto.

All good here! Dewalt hasn't let me down. The Tough System boxes are great for us. There are other tool brands in those boxes...😉

Michael Quinlan I am not having that issue. How did you tie into the factory lights? What voltage and length led tape lighting did you use?
How do you like the promaster?
It has been good! Still really enjoy working out it it!
Did you have a long wheel base e350 prior to this?
Yes I did!
I have a regular wheelbase e250 do you think moving to a long e350 would be much of a difference for cargo space

what is the head room inside the van?
