Is it just me or does anyone else believe that only the top box should be open top and the rest of the stack should be drawers?
Nice to have the deep boxes too though for bigger power tools like the circular saw!
This is the exact set up I have, toughsystem trolley, 2 drawer boxes on the bottom and the large box on top. Batteries fit snug in the bottom drawer, then drill bits second drawer, accessories 3rd and 4th and power tools on top. Makes it easy to load into the Ute as well as the heaviest box is on top so no bending and it stacks better too in the vehicle so I have access to batteries etc without having to pull the whole lot out. Dewalt should consider making a larger drawer box with built in wheels
Great set up , depot recently stocked 2 drawer box, I grabbed 2 and I'm going to modify both of them to one deep drawer by cutting out bottom of top drawers and attach together with t washers and strips of cut offs making deep drawers/ chest style for bigger 7¼ saws rear handle 899 sawzall jigsaw, cordless router / accessories
Not lockable and not as waterproof, but ideally yes.
Depends on the user but i'll go with you on that one
So happy to see so many of you enjoying our video on the DeWalt Toughsystem stack organised! What do you all think of tool walls? Would love to hear your views on this tool organisation project we've just finished: ua-cam.com/video/MZRmxhgMJck/v-deo.html
I've been looking for something like this video forever. Been looking at how people organize their tools in the Touch System and have had a hard time finding anything that isn't just Dewalt marketing pictures of tough guys walking around in mud with their tool boxes
Walking around in mud with their toolboxes 😅
😂😂😂
They used to drink bud but now we hate mud
Hahahaha tough guys in the mud lmao 😂😂😂😂
exactly what I was looking for. The best setup for my needs. Thanks for sharing it.
My pleasure mate, let me know if i can help with anything else 👍
@@ShadowFoam I want all my tools to be organized this way with a toughsystem 2.0 inlcuding shadow foam. My work will be easier once I'm done with everything. Thanks again for the idea.
Pretty basic but awesome product. Thanks for the helpful tutorial. Hope your biz is going well!
Thanks Chris, not going bad at all!
Dude Freaking Awsome i love it when i get my tough system 2.0 im also getting the shadow foam !!!
the drawer pieces i have found the most usable , no flipping lids , works well stacked
This is great 👍. I bought the Dewalt Tough System boxes and dolly after viewing this video just so I can use the Shadow Foam inserts for my tools lol!
This was the most satisfying way to organize tools ever
Thanks Trey, have you seen our other toughsystem videos?
I was so excited seeing this. I went to the website to put together a list. Holy moly, I have to take a second mortgage out on my house to buy it. LOL
International shipping?
looks great, job done
Thanks Jim! 👍
It's funny seeing how other people organise because to me my go to tools are a circular saw and an impact. My combi gets so little use I almost regret buying it but it comes in handy now and then
What do you carry your tools around in?
This guy is really in to foam. Impressive. I got to get me some.
www.shadowfoam.com my friend 👌
Amazing. Quite impressive!
Thanks a lot!
Love it, now you just need to make inserts for my 1560 pelican case.
What do you plan on putting in that case?
@@ShadowFoam my deWalt drill and charger in the bottom layer and my other hand tools in the layers above .
Huge thanks. My current storage system is a mess! I so need to up my game!
Give us a bell when you get it organised!
Perfect Jonathan 👏👏👏👏
Cheers Baris! You seen any of my other videos?
@@ShadowFoam Cheers Jonathan, I seen all of your last videos.
You should take the cut out from the circular saw and stick it down on top the foam under where the motor is. It would fill in the space enough to stop it having as much movement but still only use the material from one layer
Very good idea there mate! 👍
This was awesome!!! ❤
Thanks Frankie! Are you a DeWalt fan?
@@ShadowFoam yes I actually am.
Damn this is awesome. Going to have to buy these foam inserts for my kit
Let me know how you get on organising your kit! 👍
@@ShadowFoam so I got online and checked out the prices, shipping is a killer for me being in Australia
I think I'll just buy your sheets for my van vaults, very nicely done though.
Let us know how your van vault project gets on with Shadow Foam, we love a good van project! 😀
Brilliant video show foam quite expensive tho to buy that amount
But for what you're saving in protecting your tools and ensuring none get lost or stolen is far greater than the price of the foam! Thanks for commenting though mate, we appreciate the feedback 👍
OMG that Rowan clip KILLED ME!!! 😂🤣😅😂🤣
😂😂 it’s all I hear when anyone says bottom
Johnathan, can you do a tool organization video like this but for the tough system 1.0. That would be awesome. Bummed out dewalt doesn't make tool trays inserts for the 1.0 system, definitely would be able to utilize wayy more space in the boxes. Thinking to build my own tool trays or modify the small included handled trays which are relatively useless. Or just make the move over to the 2.0 system. Great video man
A more efficient idea with the toughsystem 2.0, you’d need the trolley though for this, is to put 2-3 sets of drawers on the bottom, a large box on the top and then half box organisers above that. Obviously with 3 drawer systems and a the half organisers it can be pretty high, but it means you don’t have to unstack anything. I run 2 drawers, large box and 2 half organisers. Fits everything for carpentry
Sounds like a great setup! Would be even better with some Shadow Foam keeping your tools organised, safe and secure! 👍
@@ShadowFoam I’ve got some kaizen foam, not sure if there is a company that makes pre cut inserts in Australia. If they do I’d be down to get some. Although foam does take up ALOT of space. If anything I’d use it mainly for my hand tools/drill bits and loose pieces etc. tools themselves may not be practical space wise
Hello batteries and accessories like bits and lasers sure good to have foam. Other stuff just line the box with thin foam and it is muuuuch more space efficient
@@majstrujeme8352 batteries are pretty robust these days. You could get away with lining the box as well but lining it with foam is annoying. You either need to glue it in or find a way to fix it. Maybe Velcro otherwise you will destroy it
@WHATEYATALKINABOUT do you have a video you can post showing your set up. GC here, but mostly do kitchen installs and finish work. I've been trying to figure out a way to set my cart up
I bought a bunch of tool hangers and battery holders, rivet nut them to the box and called it good.
got any pictures of that mate?
This is a cool idea for fragile items like stage lights or sensitive musician tech. I think it makes dewalt look sharp although I've dropped my dewalt tools from 10 feet on ladders to concrete and they still hold together and work. This looks like you can drop your whole toolbox from a 3rd story building roof and your tools are gonna be unscratched. Maybe a good idea for a video bud.
Might be something we've considered... 🤔
I have some DeWalt tools and I do not want to test there durability but I know Milwaukee is just about indestructible
“We’re not gonna be looking at the toughsystem 1” and then proceeds to use tough system 1 drawers.
BELLO, INTERESSANTE ED UTILE VIDEO.
COMPLIMENTI.
SALUTI
SALVIO
I see a few new toys to add to my collection
Which ones?
My man, you literally have the oscillating multi-tool sitting in one of the boxes during this whole demonstration. Just use that! It even has a foam cutter attachment for exactly this purpose, would make this job so much smoother. Make the tools work for you and work smarter not harder.
would be faster, but wouldn't be as precise and therefore wouldn't do as clean a finish
Nice!
Thanks mate! Got any toughsystems?
@@ShadowFoam - debating. We have the rolling box on sale for $90 and the large box on sale for $60 right now so I am thinking about stocking up.
Heat the deep tray while pushing down on top of the circular saw,it should melt to form just enough to seat.
Tuyệt vời đẹp và chất lượng dewart., ước mơ của mình là có được một bộ máy này để làm việc thì tuyệt vời.
DeWalt nổi tiếng với việc biến ước mơ thành hiện thực
I notice your small top box you put your drill and impact in has a handle on the very top. I can't find one with a top hand on the lid. Where did you find yours?
Great finsh. It just makes any tool box of that style more usable.
Do you have any products that can be added to prevent bacteria build up. I come from a catering background and this foam would be great to organise chef boxes but I fear they will harbour bacteria in that application.
Couldn;t say for sure to be honest, we've never had anyone ask us about that kind of application. If you can enlighten us, I'd love to know!
Looks good I just have my DeWalt tools thrown in a deep Craftsman tool box drawer. Are there inserts for craftsman tool boxes like the DeWalt tough boxes?? Stay safe!!
Couldn't have said it any better Bruce! Although, if you need any assistance Joey, do let us know! 👍
With the volume of tools that I bring to each job site I would need 3 rolling stacks doing it this way.
3:38 did you just slam slap that on and it locked??? XD Nice shot!
No need for a take 2! 😅
If I organise my toolbox that way I would never bring it to a job site 😂! Too pretty to mess up!
😅
Awsome
Thanks 👌
Looks good, all this organization and foam keeps them in place.
Only problem is when you stack them together you can't get to your tools. On a big job site you just unstack them , and I put them on a small rolling scaffold, HOWEVER ,, in a customers home or apartment on smaller job the drawers are better, also somebody needs to design the bottom rolling tool box to access tools without unstacking the others. Stanley has one but it's smaller and not as durable..
A good point and definitely something we can do in a future video as the foam is so versatile!
Forwarding this to wife.
Let me know how that goes down 😅
Do you have a way of cutting the foam in a non manual way? Like a CNC or something- seems like the next step for you guys is having an option where you have pre-cut foam options (e.g for the most common tools). And if this is feasible, maybe eventually even a “customise” option on your website where you charge extra and the customer can design their own layout. You could have templates for certain commonly used tools, and then an option to draw your own tool and set the depth etc. Is this possible/viable? Because in my opinion your biggest barrier is that it just seems like it takes ages to cut and peel it manually.
It is something we have considered, but the cost is just too great and we pride ourselves on the affordability of our foam. There are lots of CNC options out there and Shadow Foam has been specifically designed to be a cut and peel foam. Of course, customers can buy the foam from us and then send it to be converted elsewhere, but it's not part of our business model. Interesting idea though!
You should make inserts for the flex stack packs.
Stay tuned! We’ll be covering Flex! 👀
I'm planning on building something to store my detailing tools and products, will chemicals damage the foam?
It makes total sense. But I like having a big box on the bottom for larger/heavier items, like a circular saw, but I want it to be a drawer, too. Especially if we're shorter, we don't want to have to get a stool to reach the top box. lol
Have you seen NEW SK Modular System. It's BRILLIANT!!! Single big drawers, multiple drawer combos, and 2 ExtraLarge DOOR options. They currently only come in green, but I'd paint it Yellow for my DeWALT system.
I'd link a photo, but don't know how. lol Was just in my news feed today. They're already selling on Amazon in USA. Jonathan I hope you can check this system out and review it. It's a USA made product, but I don't know if it's being offered in UK yet.
I haven’t heard of it, but after that glowing endorsement, I’ll check it out! 👍
Me, a Bosch Pro owner looking at the brands on the site: "Am I a joke to you?"
I would love to use the product. I checked out the website and don’t see any pre cut inserts for the craftsmen boxes. Any plans to makes some?
100% We'll announce them on this channel first too so stay tuned!
I'm getting the Toughsystem 2.0, 3 pice set, the 2 drawer, and a deep & shallow tray insert. Basically, what you just did here. What and how many do I need to do it like you did here? If i were to sit the circular saw more flat, would the deep tray then fit? Obviously, i would need more foam for the botom layer.
TIA
I don;t think that cicrcular saw is fitting in the deep tray
This one is a 60% cheaper than milwaukee in New Zealand. Im gonna have to go with it
You won't regret it! We love a DeWalt!
Better than packout
Do you guys ship to Denmark? Love your product!
All our shipping options are available at www.shadowfoam.com
just an idea - supply customers with easy templates for all different tools, chargers and batteries
wouldn;t it be easier for customers to use their own tools as templates?
I see the pros, and I see the cons.
My lrg bottom box holds:
Jigsaw
Saws All
Circular Saw
Bluetooth Radio
X2 Squares
SML Blower
and a SML Dewalt bag of random stuff.
This would limit my space immensely. but my MED box is full of other crap that could definitely use something like this to hold it all in place rather than moving around on trip to trip.
Completely fair and valid comments here my friend!
This was my thought exactly - I've kept my tools in the manufacturer's boxes and put them in the Tough System boxes. However, for my handheld tools, drill bits, etc. that would just be laying down anyway, this is a fantastic idea!
Is there a complete list of boxes and foam sizes quantity ECT for this exact setup?
www.shadowfoam.com/dewalt-foam-inserts/
Three drawer on wheels would be the best system set up
I’ve been looking at many different box systems and while many have awesome features, I think the ones that launch from the front like Milwaukee r just the best. I don’t like having to u do side latches. I like sliding it on and off from the front. Much less hassle and easier when ur reaching for it in the truck
The top would be drawers for me
DeWalt team: I have a great, idea let's make organizers that are absolutely not compatible with our other 2 lines of organizers so our customers have a harder time organizing!!!
I love DeWalt but they need to put more attention in their products
What's your DeWalt setup look like?
@@ShadowFoam i got tough system 2.0 boxes, but I'm definitely gonna change to the drawers so i don't have to unstack to reach the bottom tools, I also have a couple of tools that came with their case but it's TStak so they're not compatible with TS2.0 and than the case for all my drill and impact bits aren't compatible with TStak or TS2.0 🤦♂️
I don't know why they don't just stick with the tough system and make drawers and face opening boxes like a cabinet. They're lacking innovation in all their other products, but their Power tools are great
They do need to reduce systems. TStack, T2.0, the other organizer system they seem to use. It’s just too much.
All my power tools are dewalt but I had to go Milwaukee packout for my organizers. The packout is Just hands down superior to toughsystem in almost every way
I’ve spent too much on Tstak to change now. This constant changing so we have to buy something else is a good way to lose customers
Cut the foam all the way through. Then cut the desired height off the cut out piece and put it back into hole. Instead of ripping foam
Get what your saying Zach but it sounds like going the long way around 😄
Do you have anything for flex stack box
I love this but I'm too tight to buy it 😂
haha fair plays mate
Do you offer free shipping to the U. S. A.?
I wondered what Peter kay was up too.. 😄
Think he's on tour in Manchester mate, saw it in the paper!
how do you guys use this system in residential settings. I've tried them but once i get to some stairs its useless packing everything like that. So i just went back to carrying everything in bags.
We didn't find it too difficult dragging the system up the stairs, having it on wheels certainly helped!
I have a workbench and i really want some
All available on www.shadowfoam.com
Ok thanks I will have a look
im putting my tools lose but still nice and save tons of room this way.
Thanks Patricia, you a Dewalt user?
Can you use the battery charger while it is mounted in the foam (or is it dangerous due to poor ventilation)?
We’ve not had any issues with it, but if you have any doubts, better to be safe then sorry!
Thankyou for that and for the great videos. I just saw the DeWalt dual charging box which is ideal - might order some foam inserts for that!
This may sound lazy of me, but why don't you sell precut foam inserts?
We do sell precut foam inserts for an impressive amount of toolboxes and trays. Check out our range at www.shadowfoam.com
What size foam was used for the 2 drawer boxes?
50mm inserts, available here: www.shadowfoam.com/product/dewalt-toughsystem-drawers-foam-insert/
Matching shadowfoam underpants
We'll consider adding those to our product range!
@@ShadowFoam Love the channel! Love the product (other than the shadowfoam panties) will be ordering some for my shop 🥳
I would absolutely love to purchase this foam for my tough box, but the shipping is double the cost of the foam 😪
Sorry to hear that, please drop my team an email at hello@shadowfoam.com
❤❤❤❤❤
Dewalt fan?
Do you have pre-cut configurations
Visit our website! www.shadowfoam.com/shadow-foam-inserts/
I went to your website how do I know which foam pieces go to what tough system 2.0
Check out our DeWalt section here: www.shadowfoam.com/dewalt-foam-inserts/
I have 90% of my tools Dewalt, but you cant compete with the Packout ... so i'll put my yellow tools (minus the red cordless nailers) in my red packout.
Prefer the DeWalt tools do you?
You know being from America I almost need sub titles
Welcome to the North of England lad! 😂
It's not that bad he didn't say "bloody hell " once. But he did say bits and bobs
What do YOU know about cutting foam?
😂🤣
Great vid, mate! Come organize my shitemare, please!!
Shitemares a new one! 😂
@@ShadowFoam shitemare ™©® etc etc 😂🤣
Do the yellow trays fit the original Toughsystem?
Not sure, anyone in the comments know?
Make something for the top so you can look up and pull out batteries mate.
My OCD has been satisfied, for today.
Come back tomorrow and check out the rest of the videos on our channel!
Can the latches be replaced if they break
Not sure, anyone got any answers in the comments?
Do you foam for the magnusson boxs
We do indeed, it's available on our website www.shadowfoam.com
Can u find a good box for the dewalt nail gun one supplied is rubbish
Can the draw be placed under the load of the first two boxes?
see no reason why not
@Shadow Foam I've noticed at the beginning of the video you have the draws on top of the bottom box and at the end of the video, the draws were above the medium box, which draws placement did you end up with?
my tools don't complain banging about with each other, i fit almost all that stuff in half the storage space and that's what matters in a shop on wheels, they really don't complain like some inmates mates. it's pretty tho
Fair enough, there's also the visual organisation aspect to consider
@@ShadowFoam well i ended up doing one and now looking for the 4th drawer set ,i tried it with the 70inch tv packing foam white but so they do look neat
does anybody know where or if you can buy an extra black tray they give you with the xl box for the top?
I too would like to know this, anyone got any idea?
@@ShadowFoam iIeven contacted dewalt and they said that they don't sell it separate
That's a shame but thanks for letting us all know!
as great as it looks, in my opinion the foam takes up so much room that can be used as storage.
While the foam looks cool I just don't get the why. 4 tools in the deep bottom box in foam while I get 7 in a Tstak bottom box which is a little smaller plus blades, grinder wheels, 2 5 amp batteries and sand paper. Next deep box up I get 6 tools plus 3 small tough boxes with bits and blades.
Foam seems like a lot for tools that get dropped off ladders, roofs and kicked around.
Pack the boxes right and there won't be any travel damage. With foam I would need 20 boxes to haul my tools around.
Can completely get what you're saying but there are ways to pack more tools into the boxes using foam, and foam is also a great way of visually keeping track of all your tools and where they are, along with keeping them safe and protected. As Jonathan mentioned at the end, we've left a lot of space in the foam to add items along the way. Thanks for the feedback though, its much appreciated! 👍
Some people don't treat their tools like garbage.
How is packing tools in a box treating them like garbage? We're just smart enough to know that they don't need placed in foam. I figure the want to be wood workers think the foam is cool but I have never seen a real wood worker put his drill in foam at the end of the day after it has been dropped 5 plus feet at least once a day.
DeWalt need to make a base unit drawer for the circular saw and planner no point if you have to detach 7 draws just to get the tool you need
I would love to see that too! 🙏
Every like goes to getting buddy a larger shirt, anything helps.
Buddy the elf?
awesome, can you send it to indonesia??
We have international delivery rates on our website, check it out! 👍
What thickness is the foam ??
We offer it in 3 sizes - 30mm, 50mm and 70mm
When I go to the website, the cost is in euro. Is there a way to change that to U.S. currency?
We only sell in GBP at the moment as we are a UK company
do yall ship to the US?
we do indeed, check out our website for all the details www.shadowfoam.com
Perhaps it's just me, but too bad you cannot go online and custom order your foam cut out the way you want it from the beginning. That would be much better for me and my OCD
I want using dewalt but very expensive in turkey 😢
Near £300 of boxes to house battery tools….all my battery kit fits in the bottom box. The foam is just eating storage space!
Also bare in mind the foam is protecting those tools from knocks in transport and allowing you to visually have it all organised to hand, avoiding the hassle of searching through your box for a tool! 👍
