    My wife is from that city. I'm from Canada and I walk around there in December with just t-shirt and shots. I'm perfectly fine. Outside for hours. My wife is a little embarrassed walking with me when everyone is wearing a scarf and winter coat but I think it's still pretty warm. I wondered if it was legal to drive those scooters on the side walk. I know police are more strict there. You can walk all over Bratislava every day and see new things. I can never get bored of it! There is a cool cheese store there somewhere. I know it's basically underground and it looks like it was just dug out of the ground.. very cool shape inside. It's been forever since I was there, but I remember how unique it seemed to me. Oh, also some ridiculously good ice cream store is there somewhere! Lineup goes on forever in the summer.

      This winter was actually fairly warm on certain days. I sometimes felt like my scarf wasn't necessary, but I still prefer dressing warm. If you find out the names of these places that you're referring to, I may be able to visit it and make a video out of it! Glad to share.

    Last week I met with a group of 10 Slovaks in Vegas. It was wild and very surreal.

    09:00 “medovina” is not really a type of wine, it’s just the Slovak word for mead. The English word “mead” is actually Slavic in origin (“med” means honey in Slovak).

    hey, just a small remakr: that winter drink is called "hriatô" or "hriate" not "kriato" . Which can be basically translated to "heated" (as the drink is served hot). Otherwise a very nice video as always!

    In czech zemiak = brambor but what in Slovakia is called zemiakové placky we call bramboráky (its common for it to already include garlic and marjoram in the potato batter ) and what we call bramborové placky is an entirely different dish - no garlic, no marjoram .. higher flour to potato ratio. Its more like a pastry. And yeah - Bramboráky / zemiakové placky are commonly filled with sauerkraut, smoked meat. In a restaurant it could be filled with any kind of meat in a sauce. Also smaller ones are a possible sidedish for goulash.

      I had zemiakove placky at the Christmas market's last year and it became one of my favorite dishes here. It is so freakin' good. I'll have to try bramborové placky when I get the chance, it sounds good though the addition of garlic and marjoram in zemiakove placky is 👌

    Hello sterba.. Do u know anything about Stellantis, Skovakia? Is that a good place to work?

    • @nicksterba
      @nicksterba  5 місяців тому

      Hello @who21896, it's difficult for me to say as I don't have experience working in the auto industry. You may be better off scouring facebook or linkedin to find people who currently or who have previously worked there and asking them directly. I know that wages in Slovakia, compared to other countries in western Europe, aren't as high. Though generally speaking, work benefits such as vacation time and whatnot, are typically seen as being better than the U.S. where many folks are workaholics. Hope you find the info you're looking for!

    😬You're not supposed to ride on the sidewalks, especially when there's bicycle lane available. If you have to, only at walking pace (there's speed limiter in the Bolt app)
