    Friend cheese, tartar sauce and Pilsner Urquell is a great combination! My mouth is watering just by the thought of it.

    i just boil the potatoes in salt water and then i dry bake them on a pan to make them crispy... so it's a little bit less stomach heavy food :) and i spread tartar directly over the fried cheese.

    If you ever get kitchen thermometer, check recommended frying temperature for your combination of oil and food.

    Sunflower oil is good in the sense that it can stand high temperatures, but it's not the healthiest for sure.

    This is already my third comment but I just noticed something. Finns and Slovaks are similar: weirdos who wrap cucumbers in plastic. 🤣 It stops the cucumbers from going dry and all wrinkly during transport and storage.

    I don't like wilted cucumbers, so I salt them just before serving.

    Instead of bowls, you should have used plates. It is easier to get the cheese breaded.

      I am an American living in Slovakia as well and I've been living here for quite some time, I like the Friend Cheese dish but I have it once in a blue moon.

    I usualy use kitchen paper towel on bottom of bowl/plate for absorbing oil after frying which i throw away afterwards, anyway good choice of side dish

      Wirerack is recommended, fried stuff will get soggy from the bottom, if you leave it on the plate for too long.

      I agree it's not enough heh, but for the past month I was both busy and fell out of my flow a bit... I don't want to post videos if I can't feel like I can put effort in them....nevertheless, the city series will continue! I'm hoping to record another trip this week or the next and get back on track 😎

    @ 0:13 PEEL THE POTATOES!!! I know the American lazy ways do make it aggressively into our regions - that' the reason I can't order fries and baked potatoes in restaurants without thorough questioning any more, but still... Try it...

      Haha your comment made me laugh! I know it's the American way to not peel the potatoes....but I like the potato skins!! I made potatoes the other day with the help of my mom and yes first thing after washing is she had me peel the potatoes 😆

      @@nicksterba I personnally do not like the feeling of old paper on my tongue, but "de gustibus"... 🤭 What really bothers me is the fact our restaurants adopted an alien way of preparing food, not because it was better, but because it was more convenient FOR THEM (less work, less waste, maybe some cheap illusion of something modern and "cool"). Do you think they would do the opposite: that they would START peeling potatoes because of foreign customs? Quite a few times I got fries with small sprouts (= health risk BTW), twice even with a piece of clay stuck in a small depression 🤮 I used to say that one day they will stop peeling even the potatoes for the mash. Of course, I meant it as irony. And lo and behold, the other day in a fancy restaurant, certain food critic was presented with mashed potatoes "with beautifully recognized pieces of skins" FFS 😒
