Brings back the wonderful memories when I was stationed in Schwienfurt, Germany 81-83, going to all these Christmas market such a wonderful time! I miss Germany!
I had a friend from Germany who once stayed with me here in America. She often talked about how magical Christmas is in Germany. After watching your video, I can see why those memories meant so much to her. It looks absolutely beautiful-the snow, the sights, the sounds-everything feels so enchanting. Thank you for sharing! Fröhliche Weihnachten! Merry Christmas!❤❤
I spent my childhood in Germany. Mom was German and I went to a German school for 5 years. Had an American dad and mom re-married an American soldier when I was 12. Off to the USA... It was weird adjusting but I was permanently influenced by my initial years in Germany. I miss it and want to go back but I realize it is not as I left it. Maybe I might return for a visit but I don't know... Thanks for the glimpse into my old/new world. LOL
I can relate, almost the same story on this side. My mom moved to Canada, and luckily I have both languages under my belt because of family in Germany. Dual citizenship is nice to have, but I have the same issue as you and not sure if I would be able to adapt after so many decades away
Thank you for this treat on Christmas Eve 2023. We just happened to find your treasure hunt/walk as we were looking for something else. Now it will be a Christmas tradition for our German-American family. We watched it with captions and muted with classical Christmas music playing. Gorgeous!
I loved this thank you! A beautiful walk without excessive commentary, but with the added info text on screen was so perfect. Just subscribed and added Nuremberg at Christmas time to my list of places I want to visit. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
I want to thank you for posting this, I was an army brat in the late 70's posted @ Nellingen Kaserne above Stuttgart, many great memories of the Christmas markets.
Having spent three years in Germany in the 1980s, the Germans definitely know how to Christmas. Being away from home, and a teenager, I definitely loved the Christkindlesmarkt. The people on the corner hawking hot chestnuts, and of course the smells of the cooking foods, made it like no other place. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hey, thanks so much!! I am in Cologne today but I probably won't film a walk here until Tuesday. I am waiting for some snow. Thanks for the support! I'm glad you enjoyed the tour.
the christkindels market starts in december and goes until 6/7 january. please not the video is from last year. we had some light snow yesterday but not much. but nuernberg is really nice and lots to see! also if you are there take the subway to neighbor city Fürth (Fuerth) they also have a winter market. only takes around 20 minutes to go from main station to main station.
I am very grateful to you for such bright and inspiring videos. When you are in a country where a terrible war is going on, when missiles and drones are constantly hitting your home, your travels lift the mood and give hope🙏❤️
This is wonderful! My wife grew up in Nürnberg and visited the Christkindlmarkt many times as a child. We have not returned to Nürnberg yet for Christmas, but it is on our list. Thank you for a wonderful walking tour. Wife approved. 😀 The ending with the pan up the church was super!
I'm glad she approved. :) this was my first time visiting Nuremberg. I just filmed the markets in Aachen last night and right now I'm on a train to Rothenburg.
Oh wow! My hometown Nürnberg looks so much better in HD. 😃The Christkindlesmarkt is really magical, thank you for showing me how beautiful it actually is! It has also changed so much and expanded. The children's market, the burnt punch behind Starbucks at Museum Bridge, the expansion on the way to the Sebalduskirche, the sister's market and starting in 2023 another extension at Weißer Turm (underground station) - Jakobsplatz with a beautiful ferris wheel. I love that the market more or less spreads around the city now. Happy Christmas, lovely people from around the world! 🎄🎅🏻 Come and visit us! 🤶🏻
Thanks for making me feel less crazy. My family lived in Germany in the late 80s and I think we did go to this Christmas market for a school field trip and I could have sworn it was much smaller. They still had all of the stalls over by the church area, but a lot of this seems different and there was less of a crowd. I think I still have a pair of earrings that I bought from there. Still very pretty, though!
Was stationed in a little town called Ansbach for 2 years, part of 83 all of 84 part of 85. Germany was awesome bacck then. In the winter time after closing down the bards we would walk around town n visit the gluevine vendors and drink warm spiced wine. Good times.
Epic!! A winter fantasy wonderland. So beautiful. I have this playing on my living room tv as we speak and my gf and I are loving it. Its a perfect video for the Xmas obsessed like us!!! 🎅🎄🎁

My husband's family is from Rossach. When we visited we never went to Nuremberg, now I wish we had. The city is beautiful. You couldn't try to recreate a Christkringlemarket in the U.S. as it would not be the same.
Spent 2 years in Germany 84 n 85 stationed in Ansbach. We went to Nurenberg many times by train. The history is amazing. Walking around at night drinking glu vine from stret vendors. A few times we missed our train back to base and slept in the train station. If you ever go to Germany Christmas is the time to go, I know a lot of folks want to go during Oktoberfest but that is just people getting drunk. Besides there is always a fest somewhere. I would love to see the Orangeier ( not sure of the spelling now) almost every city n town has a story n festival. Most towns have their own version of Christmas beer.
@@ProWalks i suppose. We used to have something here like that Nuremberg market but they stopped it around the big virus update we're not allowed to talk about and its been gone since.
In our country Philippines, we start celebrating the Christmas season early-right from September 1. That’s when people begin putting up Christmas decorations at home, in stores, supermarkets, malls, and everywhere else. Christmas songs start playing as background music, too. Many years ago, one decoration that caught my attention is the nutcracker. They’ve always been part of Christmas displays here with all kinds of unique designs, but I never really knew much about them. One day, while walking through a mall in our town, I spotted some nutcrackers and decided to ask a mall staff about them. He shared some history and beliefs surrounding nutcrackers, explaining it originated in Germany. 😘
Thank you so much ProWalk Tours for this wonderful video of a German Christmas Market although I haven't finished watching the entire video yet.. So far, my favorite parts are the man trying to sell the delicious looking Bratwurst and Sour kraut @17:00 and before that the Cow Horns and bottles of liquor @9:40. It made me imagine being in Germany and buying a bottle of Whiskey and a couple Cow Horns at the Christmas Market. Then going back to the hotel room and sharing the bottle with a cute girl and both of us blowing the Cow Horns back and forth at each other. Lol
This is soo cute. I had an aunt living in Nuremberg and I visited during Christmas when I was little, but I barely remember a few scenes from the city. This brings these memories back a bit. I need to visit again :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's a pretty quick train ride from Frankfurt, and flights to Frankfurt always seem to be pretty reasonable...now is the time! :) thanks for watching.
My dream is to one day be able to travel around Europe with my Family to visit the beautiful Christmas markets. I love everything related to Christmas, I love snow... Congratulations on the channel, I've become a fan!!🌲🎄🎁☃️🎅🔔🦌
My favorite city in all of Europe. I'd live there tomorrow if I could afford it. Back in the day (early 80's), while wandering around I found a very old door just off the street. I remember there was nothing remarkable about it, and I can't remember why I tried it, but the door was unlocked. It opened to reveal a flight of steep stairs going downward. Turns out, this was one of the old town guard barracks that had been converted over to a restaurant by the owner. The inside was supported by those flying arches, similar to the ones you see in Hofbrauhaus. Now that's how to enjoy a German Dinner!
@@ProWalks Oh nice, welcome. Unfortunately it isn't snowing at the moment. It snowed briefly a week ago but otherwise it's too warm as usual. I hope that changes soon. Everything is a little nicer with snow.
@Incenpilz yes, i was hoping for snow but it's not snowing anywhere in Europe except in the mountains. I was in Prague this morning, and it snowed for a short while but it was went and didn't stick.
