We love your Chaffle recipe! (My husband and I are down 100 pounds each on keto. ) We like our chaffles with cream cheese, a few capers, and smoked salmon.
I saved a Cuban chaffle sandwich recipe from Tasty-Low carb that was on Pinterest. So, I decided to make a Ruben chaffle sandwich that turned out awesome. First, I made the chaffles, I used your recipe with the following changes: I used egg whites instead of the whole egg and grated Swiss cheese instead of mozzarella cheese and added ground caraway seeds to get a rye bread effect. I then took Corned beef, sauerkraut, Thousand Island dressing and toped it off with a slice of Swiss cheese and heated in the microwave for a minute. Once heated I made sandwich then grilled it in a pan just like you would a Ruben. The sandwich was really, really great tasting. You should try this one.
And, if you add beef broth, some Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar to those onions, you could make French onion soup. Top with a Chaffle and Swiss cheese!
Jammy eggs has some of the ingredients of hollandaise, so Sarah's comment about it tasting like eggs benedict is spot on. The second recipe reminds me of French onion soup with the gruyere and caramelized onion on the bread chaffle. I'm looking forward to trying it. I love French onion soup.
Bain Marie is a pot over a pot of simmering water. The Bain Marie must not touch the simmering water in the pot underneath.... Or it will scorch the food that will be melted within the Bain Marie set up
Bain marie: place a bowl over a pot of barely boiling water without letting tbe bowl touch the water. You put the eggs or egg yolks in the bowl and cook slowly.
Trying to get back into my low carb, gluten-free lifestyle. I love revisiting your old content. I can't eat onions, but this French onion recipe reminded me of something I use to make and miss so much... parmesan mushroom on thinly sliced bread sticks. Add just a bit of mayo and combine to make a filling. Spread on the sliced bread and bake until melted. I think I will try it on a chaffle. I bet it will be amazing 😋

Thank you, thank you. Its crunchy and great. Im making a second batch today for tomorrow. This is a game changer for me!!! Im almost 70. I have tried keto for years. Great ideas! Do not use tinfoil under the broiler either. The reflective surface can, over time, cause the broiler element to get holes in it and cause a fire (don't ask me how I know). Use a silicone mat.
Oh.Em. Gee!!! The ricotta topped Chaffle was amazing! I didn’t have lemon so I subbed orange zest, added stevia and vanilla and topped it with a teaspoon of lo carb cranberry sauce I made month ago (it’s what I had on hand). Holy wow, that was so good!!!

They are identical twins so that means the egg split in 2 so they are exactly the same. That is why they are equally beautiful. Their differences are in makeup, hair style, clothing, etc. 😃😃They are the best on UA-cam!

My husband and I really enjoy your videos. I started watching my sugars when my doctor said my A1C was 12. I am now after one year at around 6. Your videos have inspired us so much in our journey. We just got our chaffle maker and we are really loving the crunchy bread like texture. We found if we blend with the blender, the cheese is finer and it is more bread like. Made your chaffle recipe for the first time today. It is great. I made the one with the xanthan gum and the egg white, not the whole egg. It was absolutely wonderful. My Mr & I are currently doing a Carnivore cut ( 4 yrs Keto). I get bored on this way of eating so was totally inspired by this vlog. Using various spiced cream cheese spreads adding cheeses, egg salad, tuna salad & salami seems the possibilities are endless. Neither of us have a sweet tooth but for those missing that taste profile making a cheesecake type topping using lemon would hit the spot.

Ladies! Great video and recipes. They all looked good and worth a try. I recommend the 4 hole chaffle maker to everybody. If you are making them in batches, it could save 45 mins. or so. So worth getting it ....................... 😎👍👍
I thought I wanted one too, but my son-in-law got a 4waffle maker for Christmas and it rested on my counter for a week. I did enjoy the convenience of cooking them all at once, but that thing is huge and heavy and took up alot of real estate! So when he finally took it home with him and I got my counter back I was quite relieved. I inherited his mini waffle maker, had one of my own, and got another for Christmas, so now my 3 minis still crank them out, but are much easier to store (I made a 2-story “garage” for them) and dont take up near the room!
I made a apple crisp using zucchini instead of apples using regular apple pie spices. I think this kind of simmered 'apples' on top of the chaffle with whipped cream might be really good. Love your chaffle recipe. I spread it really thin with holes here and there so it is really crisp. I use the egg whites with some cream cheese recipe.

I can get by with only 1/4 t of xanthan gum and it's still super crunchy. The Dash brand is definitely better than the knock-off I tried.. I stretch mine into 4 so I can eat 2 at once! This "Jammy eggs" reminded me of a standard cake cream/frosting, the same ingredients - egg yolks, butter, lemon zest, lemon juice but add vanilla and sweetener and cook on low until it thickens. DELICIOUS sweetness!
Oh my word - this just made me realise how easyit would be to make Keto lemon curd - and i LOVE lemon curd 🥰. Btw a bain marie is just a wtaer bath so you could do it with a bowl over a pan of boiling water - just careful not to scald yourselves xx

Bain Marie is a water bath. It’s when you put custard cups into a large pan in the oven and fill the pan with boiling water surrounding the custard cups before baking. In cooking eggs, I think it means to use a double boiler and cook the eggs in a pan or bowl over boiling water instead of letting the pan touch the heating element. But your method of residual heat is probably the next best thing.

One more thing-I made a sweet pecan pie topping for my chaffle over the holidays and it was amazing!!! Literally easiest thing ever! 1/4c chopped pecans, 1T melted butter, 1T allulose (I also did Swerve brown too, either works), 1/2T SF maple syrup. Dissolve the sugar in the melted butter, add the syrup and pecans, spread on the chaffle (or eat it straight out of the bowl you microwave it in on the way to the waiting chaffle. Just sayin). Crazy good!!!

Bain Marie or Baño María is a method where you put them in a container like a ramekin and you add water outside the ramekin and you heat the water and let the steam cook the thing inside the ramekin. I’ve only done it in the oven. You cook flan and crème brûlée in a baño María.

New Years (off the wagon 😬) I whipped ricotta and put it in two bowls. One I drizzled with honey and thyme. The other an olive oil with herb de Provence and sprinkle of kosher salt. We spread these on crackers and they were amazingly tasty!! I didn't realize just how versatile ricotta could be.
Bain Marie- put the ingredients in a dish and put the dish it a pan with gently just simmering water. Cook it like that. This protects the eggs from cooking too quickly. It’s often used in the oven, baking something in a dish in a bath of water.

New Years (off the wagon 😬) I whipped ricotta and put it in two bowls. One I drizzled with honey and thyme. The other an olive oil with herb de Provence and sprinkle of kosher salt. We spread these on crackers and they were amazingly tasty!! I didn't realize just how versatile ricotta could be.

Bain Marie- put the ingredients in a dish and put the dish it a pan with gently just simmering water. Cook it like that. This protects the eggs from cooking too quickly. It’s often used in the oven, baking something in a dish in a bath of water.
