Lots of food satisfaction has to do with “mouth feel.” Crunch is a big deal and missing in some low carb foods. Cinnamon Crunch looks like a winner!

Omg yes!! That’s my biggest issue with Keto Alternatives and snacks . I’ve been trying to find a Keto cookie that doesn’t absolutely fall apart while I’m holding them in my hand. Always soft never hard and atp I’m like “ I might as well just have a cheat day and get the real thing”

I recently made a homemade keto pancake recipe and it's absolutely delicious, but my husband and I split a batch and it was still over 700 calories. So my idea is to use a silicone muffin pan and make little flat discs in that pan and bake them and then keep them in the freezer for an addition to a breakfast so we can enjoy the taste of them without making a complete meal out of them. They store great in the freezer I've read, so I'm definitely trying it.

    TRY THIS BREAKFAST CHAFFLE
Apple fritter chaffles- 1 egg, normal motz amount, tbsp lady boss protein powder, cinnamon, xanthum, tbsp of plain yogurt, 2-3 diced apple slices, vanilla extract- sprinkle swerve powder sugar on top while warm. Can substitute 1/2 or all apple for berries for berry fritter. SO GOOD

Nice! I found a vintage "Honey~Bee" (original) at a thrift store a couple years ago for $.25 cents~ now I might pull it out of my inventory & use the cuteness =)
*Speaking of cereal- & discount stores- we have a local discount grocery that had a bunch of the "SOLA" brand of Vanilla Almond Granola cereal for a great price! I added some low carb homemade oat flake cereal to it, tastes just like "Honey Bunches of Oats"~ actually, even better. Definitely an occasional treat food, as it does use up all the carbs I personally want to consume in a day~ mostly because I need at least one cup of it to feel like I had a cereal meal.
Anyhow, just wanted to give an upvote for the SOLA cereal, if anybody is curious =)

Here's my idea fog a video. I remember you buying pizza with a meat crust. It looked good. Well, Anita at Ketogenic Woman made one using ground chicken as the crust. I made it for lunch and it was good! She mixes the ground chicken with pork panko and Italian seasoning, and then spreads it really thin and bakes it until crispy. Then she adds sauce, cheese and whatever toppings you want. Some people don't have access to a pizza place that makes this kind of pizza, so this is for us! Love you girls.

@@ketotwins Thank you for that!! Totally saved me steps!! I did make the faux apple filling with the chayote-so good!! I ordered SF Alpine apple cider drink mix to elevate that flavor, but sadly, it came today and they sent regular, not SF. Oh well. So…I tried making french fries with the chayote. Bummer!! It was delicious, don’t get me wrong, but it tasted like fried squash, maybe even fried okra (a personal fave), but not at all like french fries. And they never got stiff. But the flavor was very good (I used just plain salt and then french fry seasoning, liked both). So now I’m going to try roasting them with my Brussels sprouts and see how that goes. Maybe it will act/behave/taste like a roasted potato? I am enjoying playing with it and so far I haven’t disliked anything I’ve tried with the chayote, so that’s a win. We shall see….

Hi Ladies! I'm new to this Keto thing and have been really enjoying your channel the interaction between the two of you fascinating. Twins just have a completely different way of communicating with one another. I wanted to ask if you liked to cook when you started keto or did you begin to enjoy it as it became a more natural activity? I am trying to get myself into the mindset of not dreading the cooking and the shopping aspect of the diet and was hoping you would have some thoughts. I don't want to resort to dirty keto as a frequent manner of feeding myself. I know you have said to just cook easy basic meat, veg, salad type meals to eat on a regular basis. I have trouble even wanting to do that, which sounds very lazy, and I am already feeling better when I stay at a low carb count. I am trying to beat the diabetes back and it is working, yet I still look at all the ingredients daily and heave a sigh before I begin. Any big fat motivation you can gift me with regarding this issue? Thanks, and keep up the great content!

Love you both soooo much!! Question: Did you guys count calories to lose your weight? I did the first time I did keto and I get obsessed with counting them and it consumes my life, and then I binge. I have re-gained ALL of the 120 lbs that I had lost. I want to make this more of a life style, but I have ALOT to lose again. Any suggestions? 💕💕

Hi Christen! We did not count calories to lose weight, but we do incorporate intermittent fasting which helps! -Em

Look: happened to all of us in one or the other form ! Forgive yourself, get back on the wagon and shift your focus. Focus on full satiety, a ton of different veggies and fruits, omega 3 fats, protein and intermittent fasting. Maybe become an OMAD. Obsess with TIME fasted, instead of calorie counting. Good luck Sista !

I agree with the twins and KetoSista! And I've been there. Lost 70lbs on keto years ago, then married into a vegetarian/carbmonster family and eventually fell off the keto wagon. I gained the 70 back plus 30 more. Last fall, I finally insisted that we change up our eating. Hubs is great with it. He loves my new enthusiasm for trying new dishes and of course loves me feeling better and being happier.
I do OMAD and 18/6 IF; my eating window is noon to 6pm. I thought it would be hard, but it's working very well for me. I have orange herbal tea with electrolyte powder in the morning. If I'm having a hard morning and am starving for some reason (which is really rare), I'll whip up a coffee-substitute drink with cocoa and sweetener and some good fats like coconut oil or butter and MCT oil. That easily holds me till noon. I also do the spicy/cinnamon/ginger/lemonade thing if I'm hungry between meals.
I eat a huge salad full of yummy things plus a main item for my one meal in the early afternoon. Once a week, I make some kind of keto treat to share with my hubs and stepson in the evening. I do NOT miss eating all the time. I am thrilled to be released from dealing with food and mess other than once per day. Love it.
Oh, and if you are able to do some exercise, even just brisk walking, while you are in a fasted state, that is rocket fuel for slimming down, at least for me!
And keep enjoying our lovely KetoTwins, of course. I believe you can do it, Christen! I have a long way to go, myself, but we got this!!

What if you dried out the micro pancakes so they turn crispy, like cereal? Put them in the oven at lowest temp until dried and crispy, or use a dehydrator?

It might work… I have no idea 🤣

Maybe the pancake cereal could be made in an air fryer so you don’t have to flip them, and maybe they should be slightly overdone to get the crisp like the chaffles. 🤷‍♀️ Either way, thanks for the video girls! Everyone should watch you two, regardless of being on keto or not, you’re just fun to watch🥰

I like to eat chia seed cereal with cinnamon and butter. You have to make it at night and leave it in the fridge all night

Do the separate bowl of milk and separate bowl of mini pancakes way of eating them. Add a few pieces to the bowl of milk and eat immediately. Don't let them sit in the milk. I think that would be the best way of eating it.

I wonder if the CTC is filling and does it stay crunchy. It doesnt seem like you get much cereal per serving. The most important part yo me is does it keep you full or do you just want more

The "cut da carb' options ( crab rangoon etc ) look great however I was a bit surprised to see that one sheet of flatbread has 9 net carbs. Is it very different taste and texture wise from regular low-carb tortillas which have only 5 net carbs?

    • @ketotwins
      @ketotwins  2 роки тому

The flatbread is a lot bigger (but also a lot thinner) than a low carb tortilla which is great when you want something like an egg roll wrapper type deal. -Em

I would love to see you try to make some Keto baked recipe that is allergy friendly. No dairy, nuts, wheat, and corn fiber. Maybe some allergy friendly coconut flour muffins that actually taste good and are moist! Not dry flavorless hockey pucks. I'm struggling to find quick breakfasts or snacks that fit my allergies.
