Just a small thing I found useful when laying rubber floor tiles onto low pile carpet. I was having issues with my tiles coming apart creating gaps and getting pushed out of line. To stop this I used Turf tape (used to connect artificial grass together). The adhesive works well on rubber, its easy to connect tiles together and as it only sticks to the tiles it won't damage the carpet underneath. It worked well for me so maybe it might help someone else.

You can get stall matts which are thick sturdy rubber sheets at 4x6ft from tractor supply for much cheaper then any of these tiles. Just hopefully your tractor supply keeps them outside, because otherwise you need to do that for a few days to let the rubber smell dissipate.

I used them to put a floor in the rear section of my Ram Promaster cargo van. the cargo area floor was very hard on my knees, cold and noisy while driving back there. 40 bucks each for 3X4, one inch stall/horse trailer mats at my tractor supply. They stunk like rubber for a a week, then the odor dissipated. I quickly dulled several utility knife blades in the very slow and laborious cutting the mats, but I like the heavy mats on the cargo van floor for hauling cargo or sleeping while camping.

What do you mean reducer for smooth transition? I want to do a partial rubber gym floor over high pile carpet because I'm rather limited on space on the bottom floor of my townhouse.

The space I am working with has high pile carpet. Later if I decide to remove this. Will my carpet still look new or will there be damage?

Your carpet looks like it doesn’t have cushion underneath. I want to convert my library into a craft room. It has cushion and plush carpet. Can I do this on my carpet? Also I’m using foam tiles not rubber as you are.

How would I prevent the ply wood from moving or sliding while working out underneath my tiles???? At 2:34 there's a black adhesive attached from the wall to the wood which then disappears in the next scene. Pls help Thanks

It looked more like spacers to me, similar to what's used when installing laminate flooring. Wood often needs room to expand so it's important to leave this space. I think I will be using this method myself so with the tape and the weight of the rubber mats on top (which can be quite heavy) it should be a very solid setup.

@@ChristianStJulian Thank you for your help on this matter. I still dont understand how the plywood doesnt move. Do i have to tape it to the wall? I May have to give them a quick call to figure this whole thing out. Im planning on installing a home gym on carpeted apartment.

Tape your tiles to the plywood using double sided carpet tape. Hope that's what you're referring too.

Like a ramp, to help prevent tripping. Reduces the rubber level to the carpet level.

I just put a stall mat on my high-pile carpet and it’s still unstable. I think I’m gonna put a sheet of OSB underneath

@@basedabdu8653 We meet again lol. I am having the same issue. Was going to do the with Stall Mats, but I put one down and the next day the wife told me it stinks too much. I think I am just going to leave the Carpet and build a Deadlift Platform for the Olympic lifts. What did you end up doing?
