@@AssasinSpike with my sabertrio lightsaber I can dulle with it and it’s really sturdy never broke except for manufacturer error on the blade and that got replaced for free Overall really great saber with I think 20 sounds and 16 colors on it maybe more and a lot of blade animations An in hilt will always be cheaper but they can brake very easy
It lets you add and download custom animations and sounds including voice lines with matching colors, usually swinging noises and even tip drag to pretend cutting doors open

Still less egregious than the official Disney lightsabers being 200 dollars for plastic lol. Not sure if it’s neopixel but one of them have a really cool, if slightly plain, aluminum one for like 50 bucks, which is super cool imo.

@tufab3494 It's just a custom blade my guy. The effects on regular blades of identical color are night and day. You're just talking about that one and ignoring the regular red lightaber. It looked leagues better than the other one in every way. I'm not saying you have to buy it, you're right is is expensive for most. But it's definitely not stupid just because it has one goofy custom blade meant to imitate the seismic charge. The rest of the features were still better than the other ones. Sounds, lights, ignition, handle, everything was better on the neopixel. Plus the impact noises for when you wanna mess around with it. That's all I'm saying. It's more expensive for the people who like the more polished look and feel. Not for pew pew sounds.

I snagged Adafruit's Prop Maker feather board yesterday along with a NeoPixel strip and I'm gonna gut my sub $100 and replace the blade LEDs. I tested the plasma shock effect today and it's so bright in the cheaper blade that I'm considering painting the blade with a quick once-over to dampen it a bit, jumped into Arduino IDE to bring the power down on the LED strip, but it just didn't have that same 'OOMPH!' lowering the power just a bit made the ring that goes up from the hilts to the middle before it flares out, well it killed the intensity. Anyway, my point is that if you want to really nice saber I don't want to spend the money, buying a cheaper hilt and blade then cutting the electronics to replace with the prop maker, my total investment so far is $90 for the saber, 20 bucks for the prop maker feather, and 15 bucks for the neo pixel strip. I have tons of 18650s mounts laying around, So I finally pulled the trigger on this project and I'm so happy I did! So imagine that NeoPixel saber on the right, take all the electronics out and put it in the cheaper saver on the left, that's what I'm doing, except now we can buy the components individually. Big thanks to Adafruit and the saber dev community for all their hard work on these Arduino sketches, especially the accelerometer stuff! Importing different sounds for different swing velocities is going to be so much fun to program in. Bye bye sleep for a while lol. Thanks for the vid brother!!

@@jimischievous3168 Dueling with neopixel lightsabers is not recommended because you can damage the LEDs inside the blade. if you want to duel, just get the baselit version.

If your talking about the second startup, that's a soundfont that you can change by holding the power button, it has around 20 different fonts. You can also change it to any color. That startup effect is a seismic charge font from the boba fetts ship, that is not the only thing the neopixel does. Do your research before you comment some dumb crap like that, and see for yourself why everyone wants a neopixel...

@tufab3494 It's just a custom blade my guy. The effects on regular blades of identical color are night and day. You're just talking about that one and ignoring the regular red lightaber. It looked leagues better than the other one in every way.
I'm not saying you have to buy it, you're right is is expensive for most. But it's definitely not stupid just because it has one goofy custom blade meant to imitate the seismic charge. The rest of the features were still better than the other ones. Sounds, lights, ignition, handle, everything was better on the neopixel. Plus the impact noises for when you wanna mess around with it.
That's all I'm saying. It's more expensive for the people who like the more polished look and feel. Not for pew pew sounds.

I snagged Adafruit's Prop Maker feather board yesterday along with a NeoPixel strip and I'm gonna gut my sub $100 and replace the blade LEDs. I tested the plasma shock effect today and it's so bright in the cheaper blade that I'm considering painting the blade with a quick once-over to dampen it a bit, jumped into Arduino IDE to bring the power down on the LED strip, but it just didn't have that same 'OOMPH!' lowering the power just a bit made the ring that goes up from the hilts to the middle before it flares out, well it killed the intensity.
Anyway, my point is that if you want to really nice saber I don't want to spend the money, buying a cheaper hilt and blade then cutting the electronics to replace with the prop maker, my total investment so far is $90 for the saber, 20 bucks for the prop maker feather, and 15 bucks for the neo pixel strip. I have tons of 18650s mounts laying around, So I finally pulled the trigger on this project and I'm so happy I did! So imagine that NeoPixel saber on the right, take all the electronics out and put it in the cheaper saver on the left, that's what I'm doing, except now we can buy the components individually. Big thanks to Adafruit and the saber dev community for all their hard work on these Arduino sketches, especially the accelerometer stuff! Importing different sounds for different swing velocities is going to be so much fun to program in. Bye bye sleep for a while lol.
