Love Gus and Will......the Bootsy and Snudge of the motor repair world 👍👍
Wow, nobody under the age of 70 would know them.
Did you see the fog lights wobbling as he shut the bonnet, priceless 😅
Hey people, lighten up. These guys are doing their best to provide entertainment, while also telling us about some useful and easy to do jobs on older cars. I have been looking after, restoring and driving interesting cars for fifty years, am a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, and still enjoy the show. Carry on, guys, and ignore the denigrators!
Pity you didnt leave the door mirrors white , or wrap them to match the cream roof. Spotlights need a steady bar they were like noddys head there when you closed the bonnet. Other than that it turned out nice
Would be like driving with strobe lights on average British roads....
Those spots are going to blind people the way they bobble up and down.
its flippers standard..
Agree, Will could also have spray them with the wheels.
We love All the Flippin Bangers. We have sat here and basically in 2 months watched every show I Could find for my Husband on Flippin Bangers. Im just now going through all the shows giving them some LOVE.
❤❤👍👋
Great series. Don't quite see why a cream vinyl roof went over an existing white roof, the white door mirrors got replaced by dull black ones and the debatable steel wheels ? 🤔
totally agree. those wheels are bloody awful
It don't make sense there doing it for sake off it silly fact.
Steelies suck
This is the problem with people doing restorations like this. They change things about the car according to *their* taste and what *they* like. They don't think about what potential buyers might like.
Absolutely hate the wheel’s can’t stand steel wheels when you can have set of smart alloys I know not everyone can afford alloys but I mean if a car already has them why change them
Enjoyed the vid , having found the problem with the thermostat , would it not have been prudent to test the new one , rather than expect it to be ok.
what a big job to just change thermostat and water pump but great result with the cosmetic touches
Yep, never buying one of these!
Great achievement Emily and John, and what a great window, views are going to be stunning, congratulations on your first harvest
It’s amazing the seats that had clearly worn leather that required painting was cured with a jet wash
The seats would take 3 months to dry
They would never dry completely, and would stink in less than a week.
utter bollocks isn't it
Drivers seat bolster was knackered but wasn,t filmed again kept getting covered up by for example the laptop while showing the buyer the interior.
I know, the wear on those seat bolsters. And the idiot uses a jet washer! A damp cloth and leather cleaner!!! That was what he should have used, then leather filler and a re dye on the damage. To dry them out would take ages with a heat gun or left in a warm room. And as for taking alloys off and putting crappy steel wheels with a repaint. I was thinking they were going to put retro chrome centre dish hub caps on or something. But no, just crappy mismatched bolts / nuts! Not even a centre wheel cap or bolt covers either....
I’ve used a jet wash on mouldy cloth seats and they have come up like new, but they either need to be out in the hot sun to dry for 2-3 days or put in a small room with a dehumidifier for a few days.
How to make Wheeler Dealers look like pro’s …
This reminds me of Drew Pritchard and his mate doing car restorations.
Whheler Dealers *are* pros. Well Ed was anyway, Mike was/is a pro con artist...very shifty geezer.
Ed pro Mike pro shifty.
Pro's what?
@@skylined5534 Pros and cons?
Flipping Bangers is good, fun entertainment, cheers.
But a terrible business model
It’s infuriating at times.
Just entertainment really, starting to get irritating now, for self proclaimed "petrol heads" they seem to know very little? Mini is bloody awful car, voted worst in US and doesn't fair much better in UK. The prices reflect this and what rubbish about classic underpinnings, it's a flippin' Golf underneath.
"A flippin golf underneath"? 😅😊😂speaking of "knowing very little"@jamesmacdonald3090

I'm not sure on this , there's no mechanic that couldn't fix the over heating the thermostat is the first thing you look at
I thought the same! ALWAYS start with the smallest, cheapest parts! I was shocked at this one too!
I am thinking that this may have been a mega money pit to the seller, soon as the the over heating problem started, he was done throwing money at it, and got shot. Just with it been such a simple fix, that any mechanic or someone who has interest with cars, would point to 1st time. I surprised that these two didn't jump on that 1st then the water pump.
@@procta2343 its tv, they have to stretch it out, the casual veiwer has no idea what a thermostat or water pump is.
Yep! First thing you do after a sniff test, they answered there own question "top hose cold whilst bottom red hot" and all that b*ll*cks about draining the system, same on every car just not in that order for some reason only known to them?
Unless it was deliberate to make good tv/show, or what you can over look for the non-engineers
Funfact: that car started life as a Foxton’s (the estate agents) one as seen running around London with graphics all over them
A gem 😂
Can I ask please why listing the car before the work is done? After all work is complete, the car will show different to what people think they are buying? Maybe wait till all work is done before listing.
Let alone someone who hits the buy it now and shows up to a car pulled to pieces or a totally different car which they might hate!
It’s the format of the show. It’s not real life.
The 5 day concept
@johnf3779 it is real life lol... its not a "pretend" to fix your car show.
The premise in previous series was to basically buy the car and sell the car within the week. Hence the urgency to advertise it.
Love the show 😊 hopefully you going for long time 😊👍👍
Great content, love these new episodes 👍🏻👌🏻
The show that should be renamed to "Flipping Idiots".
- Replace alloys with steel wheels
- Replace a perfectly usable interior with...well...you've seen it
- Side-cut some TLC with deep cleaning and polishing with a god-awful wrap
And all at additional expense. You lot should work for the government, you'd fit right in.
He had steele wheels on that convertible mini he has as well makes them look junk mabey should have gone for copper s wheeks or something else thats nice and oem
Add to this: Didn't check thermostat first, removed air con condenser, (not rad) therefore needing a re-gas, used anti-freeze first time round to check for leaks... dreadful.
@@tomclare1333plus they let the car overheat completely instead of turning it off as soon as the needle had gone beyond halfway mark.
All they need to fit in is Stetsons and spurs. These guys would change the whole wiring loom if the interior light didn't work.
I like the fundamental concept of the show but they do some eyebrow raising decisions and mods to the cars.
Nice show, beautifully cut, certainly gives Wheeler Dealers a run for their money.
I love them both! We're very spoiled to have the two, aren't we?!
Love how they don't show the worn driver seat bolster in the end haha. 44.17 Waste of money using antifreeze during a overheating test.
I've only found this series today & have watch four episodes back to back.
As you can tell I'm loving it.
But where do you advertise the finished cars? EBay ?
Only because two of them i would have bought.
Anyway Great programme. Cheers
It's an old show from years ago!
I hope you disconnected the battery when you dismantled it and how did you remove the aircon gas legally ?.
Steallies are great, but they need rims and the centers caps to look ideal !
Cant stand steel wheels. They rust and always look cheap and nasty. There is a reason alloy wheels become popular, then more or less standard on every car other than the most basic bottom end shed models. But you are right, they need a dish hub cap, that is what I thought they would do, a nice vintage style chrome dished hub cap. But no. Nothing! Not even a small centre cap either. Just a hole and exposed hub, and some naff looking bolts / nuts. First thing I would do is put decent alloys on it. You can get vintage style ones, aftermarket ones anything you like. And it would look better than the job they did there....
@@Simon-xc5oy
Because alloys don't corrode, right?
They're also often HEAVIER than steel wheels, generally aren't as strong and in the case of these wheels they look good. End of.
If you say so. Its all a matter of taste. Yes, alloys can go tatty. But they dont rust like steel wheels do and the rust weakens the wheel. As well as looking hideous. Most steel wheels are covered by a plastic wheel trim that makes them look like alloys! Lastly you dont get steel wheels on high end sports cars like Ferraris etc, as they would look ridiculous. Yes these wheels on the mini look ok painted. But they need a chrome hub cap to complete the look. Its strange they never bothered.
The steels looked better than what was on there before.@@Simon-xc5oy
Chrome hub caps would look naff.@@Simon-xc5oy
Great guys really like the series.
Love this show. I used to work on IT support, and told students don't fully re-assemble before testing.
Wouldn't buy a wheelbarrow off these two
Well, they don't sell wheelbarrows, so there's that...
Just my view but some of the reproduction minilites look cool even today Awesome guys love the channel 💥💥💥💥💥
Great video lads very interesting.
Love this show, but confusing why you list the car prior to even a wash, or is that just artistic license?
They probably have a team of researchers and mechanics who do a prior inspection and then the two muppets do this simpletons guide to fixing a motor? No one with any sense would list a car knowing there were faults they might not fix and that the appearance would change, some would say almost fraudulent? Their time scale is way off and the cars probably take a few weeks to sort in reality, but it is TV?
Your seller wishes he’d taken your offer well done lads wish you well with your business.
Keith, another great installment.
Front brakes, the trick is to make it look stock, but do the upgrade. So a vented disk is the way to go.
I am considering going for a vented setup of my project, as I look if to hit 80 to 90 hp..
sweet job lads , looks amazing .
Blimey, changing the thermostat on a classic mini was a piece of cake. Most difficult job was changing the by pass hose between the head and block. Made easier when they introduced a concertina type hose.
Ok I take it back, the wheels look cool and cream with the roof, but I do agree with someone that it should have been cream wing mirrors as well that would have been super cool..
Well done with the channel
Its not always the water pump or thermostat , my wifes 06 mini was over heating , i changed the thremostat still overheated , it turned out to be the Radiator Fan wasnt working , changed that 5 years ago car never overheated since then
I changed my wife. She took the Mini mini. Win/win for me....
@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 , love it yep on the second one myself. 🤣🤣🤣
Just forgot about the worn leather in the driver seat bolster
Funny how the mirrors changed colour on there own
You should get silver prop for the video ,super info from the past , all the best Sue & Elliot ❤
The idea of arriving at work and leaving both in full daylight is a new one for me.
We all know its b@llocks TV. Being self employed means your there till the wee hours and telling the Wife that you will see her in a few days. These guys wouldn't make enough on these cars to support a take home wage if it was real.
I believe it's called summer
And also bragging they fixed it for £10. It seems they don't pay themselves for time.
Just a warning for any budding Mini flippers. Don’t think you will fix an overheating Mini for £10. ……….95% of the time it will be expensive and horrible to work on. If it’s an N18 you will love rebuilding the cylinder head with its mental springs.
The N14 is the weak MINI engine, not the N18. Not that it matters in this case as those engines were only fitted to the later second gen cars
These older ones with a crystler lump are dead easy to work on, gearbox’s are heavy and a crap job, but head gaskets are one of the easiest out there to do and ferisnllt well within the Capabilities of a diy mechanic
let the greedy learn the lesson...

Great job lads👏🏽👏🏽
Steel wheels painted black?? the white alloys were ace!
Allways try the easy fix first. Change the thermostat first. The test is exactly right. Then the water pump.
So you wouldn't bother to replace the water pump when all the front of the car is stripped off. Just to save £45?
You have to do both when the car is dismantled!
Those wheels are HIDEOUS!
Nope. They look fine but need centre caps.
I 2nd that. Just dreadful
Jesus!!! Thermostat first check everytime. You guys are dead to me now. 😉
School boy error 😂
I like the steels, there are enough of these around... so it’s something slightly different.if you have a early (German) mini, keep hold of it because in 10/15 years they’ll be worth a fortune. My mum has a 51 plate Cooper in yellow, I’m having it when and if she decides to get something newer ( mum is 73💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼)

Do you ever fancy speaking English? Just out of curiosity.
too complicated to work on, nobody wants them now or in the future.
They should have asked the seller if he was willing to end the Auction early on the phone😮
Cost of Tyres in the 250 Pounds ? Awesome job !!!
Very entertaining programme 👍
I purchased a Mini Cooper, also for £600, just after the first covid lockdown. Really fun to drive.
Last summer the radiator sprung a leak & I decided to use UA-cam as a guide to replace it. Appart from some stubborn bolts & screws (always one!) it was a fairly easy job & saved me money.
Now the MOT is due &, providing it passes, I'm planning on doing a full service, including new break pads & tyres + new exhaust (which is shedding insulation) & fix some other issues. I might replace the thermostat & water pump while I'm at it, as it's an old car & they're bound to go at some point. This video has inspired me to have a go & see how long I can keep the old girl on the road.
Love dis program
Will the bigger wheels alter the Speedo
Not if the tyres are right.
At the low end of market low margins no space for errors when buying like the VW beetle. Need to look under for the hidden rust
ha ha ha letting it run to the end worked out for him then. ps I would love to see him fit in that e-type lol
😂
“He’s a big bloke so I just said ‘thank you’” Lmfaooo 😭😂Fr those seats pulled up looking a mess
Send them back….horrendous
Oh and 8 point system when selling that would make you more money
Leaving the engine to reach boiling point is not the brightest. Probably blown and or weakened the head gasket. Also, when breading air out of cooling system you should have the engine running.
Bleeding* not breading*

Those spot lights needed some steady bars added as they were wobbling like hell.
Generally enjoy your videos . On several I’ve watched, this one included , you enthusiastically tell the owner the vehicle is a lot better than you thought , you love the color , you love the car etc . This does not seem like a wise move when looking to purchase ?
No it's not a wise move. Never sound too enthusiastic and any fault you find, even if it's minimal, point it out, and make sure the seller knows you are aware of it. It will give you a bit of bargaining power.
Yes, always seem somewhat disappointed with it somehow, and that you've dragged yourself all the way out there to see it. But since you're there already, you could possibly be convinced to take it off his hands...
Yep, 101 of car buying, don't come across as eager, these two just come across as two little puppy dogs wagging their tails. Brewer does it on WD but not when he is off camera and serious money is involved?
The old 'look disappointed, not very keen' routine is so laboured and such over-basic psychology that people rarely fall for it. With private sellers, often looking really keen but saying that your budget simply can't run to what they're asking will result in the seller warming to you, and letting you buy for a very good price thinking that the item is going to a loving home etc.
@@OldGreyMulletTest This is more about going the other way and making the owner feel they really have something worth more than they are asking, I always highlight the reasons why I like the car and then move to the negatives to justify any offer and usually identify the costs to rectify. Don't think I have ever had someone say "if you are going to look after it?" tends to be "fed up of constant no shows and East Europeans with no intention of buying".
Yess, finally 🎉
STAN AND OLLIE AT IT AGAIN THOSE SEATS!!!!PMSL MUPPETS OR WAT
I posted, what a pair of plonkers on another of their vids and got no end of hate, "think you can do better?" "If you dislike them that much...." There is a point at which anyone with any knowledge of working on vehicles would say this is bollocks and just cheap TV for the great unwashed?

17:35 you can just see the condenser resting on the ground still connected to the car.
There are an almost infinite number of issues that would cause the A/C not to function properly besides not having the proper amount of refrigerant in the system.
Do they even use a/c in England

Love the show, but it’s been bugging me since season 1 that they list it for sale before working on the car. Why not list it after the 5 days? You’d have the most accurate information, best pictures and higher bids.
You dont need to take the front apart to change the water pump on a mini, Ive done plenty of them.
A gem 😂
This might be a silly question but here goes, when Will went to the scrapyard to get the wheels, why didn't he look for seats/interior while he was there? He knew he was going there for the wheels, so he must have thought that getting seats was a possibility. He could probably have got some in better nick than the ones Gus bought.
Too easy, this is TV for the masses, you wouldn't survive running a business this way or flipping the cars they buy!
True, if 2 people give up good jobs to make money buying and selling scappers it just wouldn't work, you'd need to be making at least 2 thousand a week after all the bills had been payed but it's a TV show and there's nothing wrong with that
Are these the Mini's that love to spin bearings?
🙂
Is Will the ginger uncle of Guy Martin?
😂
BMW tried to re invent the mini and failed let down by crap engines and high prices
Those wheels are dreadful!!! And steel wheels? That would affect the ride a bit since the wheels are heavier. And to wrap a perfect roof just to be different?? If you jet wash the seats it takes time to dry off of you are lucky yet somehow in 2 days the seats were dry and ready...
The original seats were so much nicer
