This was my dad’s car in the late 80’s. What a brilliant watch. My dad would have loved it but sadly he’s no longer here.
Hi there was it really his car or do you mean he had one like it??
That's brilliant
@@shaung8182yes it was his, this very one. Sorry about late reply, only just seen it 😄
I would NOT have sold this to that guy who already announced he was going to use it for parts. She deserves better!!
No it would have been a waste of time. Should have held out for 5 or 6 grand.
So not rescued then! Depressing when a gem that deserves more is parted out.
What I like about this show is that it reminds me of the initial seasons of Wheeler Dealers, just before Mike ruined it. I would like these guys to put more work on the cars even if that means more days working on it
I agree it is “mirroring” the earlier series of WD. I see that they are also introducing more 3rd party specialist into doing up the cars too, as opposed series 1 & 2.
Paul Brackley (Technical Advisor) and Daniel Allum (Executive Producer) both worked on Wheeler Dealers during the Attaboy days. Please don't bash Mike Brewer (FYI, I was firmly on Edd's side when he left WD). Things went downhill when Discovery became the producers and you can't blame Mike for that as he's just the presenter. He didn't ruin WD.
@@Parknest I was less enamoured with WD when they tried being a comedy act!
@@Parknestwhile I substantially agree with you, the fact is that producers wanted to shorten the technical tranches led by Edd. I presume that if Mike had supported Edd in his claim and stick to their boots as a couple, the producers may have ruled in their favor and the show might still be on air. But Mike just wanted the show to go on, no matter what.
Great video guys you have got bottle taking that car on you put the work in got a reward well done guys live the chanel 😂
Phil in stoke
How does one of the most prestigious Cars in the World fall into such a tragic state… mind blowing to me.
They are a poison chalice unless you have unlimited budget
@@SEANPOL203 A decent properly maintained car is a joy to own and not expensive.
My Bentley is lovely and the biggest cost was extending the garage in my new house so it would fit.
The same can be said for many once very grand houses and stately homes.
@@jjefferyworboys8138 , ok ,I stand corrected
like the country?
Parts guy shaking his head at 30:38 thinking cheap bastard!😂
😂😂😂
thought the same when you would pay the same at a dealer for a mondeo pump. not sure when this show was made (inflation)
My words exactly!🤣
It's better to rebuild the pump than to risk a second-hand one.
Offered £5000 but she accepted £2500…… yeah right! Even at £2500 they paid over the odds!
Yea I thought that was b/s if she said that, to be honest.
I have to agree, no way were they offered 5000 pounds and your right they were lucky to get 2500 from these guys but I still wonder how do they pass the MOT or are there special arrangements for 40 year old cars, we don't have yearly checks in Australia. We get gouged enough on the rego.
@@davidsmith-ih2kk I believe in the UK 40 year and older cars are classed as “classic” and are exempt of MOT and road tax!
It’s a fun conceit, but it is very contrived - for example they haven’t given up their jobs - they’re presenters! I enjoy it for what it is, but it’s a show, don’t listen to the guff about money, budgets, time constraints- they’re part of the show, it’s not about flipping cars to make money, it’s about delivering audiences to advertisers to make money.
I can enjoy the show but I’m not kidding myself about what the real business model is.
I know little about Rolls Royce but I thought the figures they using didn’t sound real
Love the head shake from the parts guy 😂
These 2 are a right pair of plumbs
😂
agreed mate, for the reason i mention above : ) jeff canada
wonderful car, english history. that model Rolls Royce is one of the last real Rolls Royce cars. i would do a complete restauration and keep it forever.
If you were planning to do a full restoration on one of these or any car that you don’t already own then it’s nearly always cheaper to find a better example that may be quite a bit more expensive as that will work out much cheaper in the end. It’s also entirely possible that it’s cheaper to just buy a nicely restored example rather than do it yourself..
NO one offered 5K for that thing, she is full of it LOL
See 964 porsche number plate value anywhere between 3k to 5k
Said it’d been there 15 years so I reckon that was 15 years ago when it was 7k 😂
that’s why she wouldn’t be filmed ..
It's easily worth that just for the parts.
The guy with the Muttonchops.............is he Gordon Ramsey's calmer brother ??? lol
Wanting 6 grand for 3 tonnes of Rolling Rust, you are dreamers
No, the grille, bumpers, interior and glass worth far more than £2500 just for the parts.
Well done on the initial rescue guy BUT would have loved to see you do a little more work on this lovely car AND get more money out of it!
Steam clean the seats, then saddle soap, then seal with a clear leather spray conditioner. I did my Bentley and had good results.🎉
7:56 The keys are in it mate there’s no way anyone’s stealing that thing 😂
Brilliant! It’s not about the cars, it’s about the banter
Will I am gotta love it. ❤
Big time cowboys
great episode - it also shows that RR;s never die, even after 15 yrs of non use; a Bentley next !
I wonder if they checked the oil and coolant at any time?
War mein erster gedanke!😂
Très très belle voiture elle mérite une belle peinture pour un restaurateur bravo plus de vidéo de restauration de véhicules automobiles cristian de Paris France
Well done mate! What you are doing is great and don't listen to anyone telling you you're wrong. Keeping your sugar down and loosing weight is key! My sugar had been over 20 for many years and I had my heart attack and bypass operation six months ago. So keep it up mate💪
Bull bars, a roof rack, a towbar

Welcome to my Ted Talk 😘😘
Very amusing. Definitely a case of you get what you pay for.
Sadly many of these fell into disrepair and ended up being broken for parts and then the shell used for banger racing.
As I recall, Harry Metcalfe at Harrys Garage, only paid £4k for his white Silver Shadow, and he took it to the Artic Circle. I think you did a good job, and it is a pity the format of the show requires such a quick sale to a guy only wanting to break it. Still good viewing. Thanks guys.
Harry is a genuine guy who knows his way around cars. This pair of wankers don't have a clue!
These two talk bollocks half the time
Just half the time? 😂😅
Ben at flying spares sold mike Brewer a Bentley Mulsanne many years ago
Flying Spares certainly are the to go to team for Rolls and Bentley parts, no doubt about it, if they have not got it they very likely know where you can obtain it.
Best episode ever.
The scary stuff is the ticking bomb of any Rolls. When something breaks A violent explosion goes off in your bank account 😂
No more so that an Aston, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche or any other very expensive car.
Plenty of used spares and a decent old school mechanic should be able to fix most things.
Bit like me after a curry
If engine runs, sell the engine £2500, sell seats, sell the wood, part doors, bonnet, and boot
The engines and gearboxes don't break so there is little demand. The ancillaries do. Bonnet and boot lids rarely sell either and when they do they aren't worth much. Grill and mascot is £1k.
Can’t believe they drove around in that rust heap without first making sure that there was sufficient pressure in the brake accumulators. Probably something they were blissfully unaware of.
But how can you be sure that did not check? And were they driving it on a public road?
This was heavily edited so you don't know what may happened that we didn't see.
The car has two brake low pressure warning lights on the dash one for each of the two braking systems. Simple check.
There are a ton of rust-free or nearly rust-free Silver Shadows in southern california. I hope they get adopted and recommissioned.
Worth rescuing. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity whatever happens to your bank account. I would have gone for it, too.
Where’s your grey poupon?
Loved it!
Thank you for putting this up
action speaks louder than words....you old dudes
Great motoring programme. Very entertaining. Thanks
I'm enjoying this!
Funny and entertaining, hope you’re also making a profit. Love this 😂
I just was directed by algorithms to this channel and I'm stoked.
Just in the first few minutes I am hooked.
Now for a query that surely will be answered once I return from this pause to comment and wonder about a 'neutral/park' safety switch.
When you try for the first time to start a car that has been sitting that you know nothing about and it's got a column shifter, just work that shifter a bit, maybe it isn't properly set in park.
...and now back to the two fellas as they discuss their options with a dead starter or...(?)
Okay, as soon as the deal is made (I have yet to get to know these blokes by name) the man that stayed outside has found a wire that is errant. Good detective work. So my theory was not the case. ...again, back to the video.
the real adage is buy low sell high always has been always will be
It was a rusty piece of shit when they bought it, and it was rusty piece of shit when they sold it.
When we used to sell them 10 years ago we called cars of this quality "shitters' !
Yes, but but, the shit was a lot shinier.
2500 for this is a joke. They've been violated
This is a strange show. I don’t know why they lie about this pretend business being their new job - the total profits made after the entire series from sales would be about £14 each. The bodging and the short-cuts are a bit scary and the standards of finish are really low. I’ll watch anything about old cars but in my opinion, they could cut the tired and over-used format of having a fake time limit, fake stress and a fake need for profit, and just work on cars without cutting every corner and bodging everything before flogging it on Ebay for £72.50.
We buy cars nobody wants .... great strategy....
Such nonsense
sellers had their pants down at 2500
Sucking up all the crap from the tank clowns 😂
The FOUR filters will deal with that.
Am I the only one shouting about the silver Golf they walked pass.
the gold 4 lying i the yard was a better buy :)
Great episode. Surely, they had eaten some of the mushrooms in the carpet to pay £2.5k. It did clean up a lot better than i would have imagined, but it still needs a full and expensive restoration.
Number plate has got to be worth a few quid
Only if you can remove it. DVLA are much stricter than they used to be particularly when its been off the road for a long time.
Would've been worth fixing the rust to keep it on the road.
About as realistic as you can get. Thanks for the upload.
Your joking right??? As real as my old granny's teeth!! 😂😂😂
No....they took on a Rolls, the Rolls was way too much to handle to get it fully restored and they sold it to someone for parts- Realistic!

And dont forget the scratch on the front bumper from putting their foot on it
I see what Jurgen Klopp does in his spare time
Glad I'm not the only one who spotted that!
😂
Love the show! I am glad that you both are doing well!
All them barns, and they leave it outside ??? And after all that work it gets sold for parts ,??? Gutted.
Breaker no financial sense don't touch it
Who would put an RAC badge on a Rolls Royce. All the posh marque cars on these shows have breakdown company badges like they're some sort of scouts award.
Will shit him self when he heard the price of a second hand fuel pump for it, and i think that stopped them throwing anymore money at it. So basically it was get it running, rolling and stopping, then get shot. A bit too nice of a car to dismantle though, but if some of the bits on it go for what its advertised, then i can see its worth more in bits.
Take spark plugs out, oil squirt, plugs back, check SU carbs, then it will start.
I feel like this would be a lot more popular if it was filmed in modern youtube style not 2010's daytime tv style.
The shows were made long before that!
This was shite..fast forward to the end.
Chef Ramsey took a wrong turn…..
Ramsay darf in meine Küche noch nicht den Müll raustragen.
Half of the video done and the thing they made is clean it and pump tyers!!!
That number plate must be worth abit on its own
Only with a valid MoT certificate…. Otherwise you cannot transfer it.
@@yorkshirewanderer9957car dosnt need a mot because of its age !
DVLA says no MoT
, no transfer. I speak from experience… You would have to MoT it - which is why that number doesn’t show up on the MoT checker. The guy who bought it took the parts he wanted and scrapped it.
@@yorkshirewanderer9957 I’m talking from experience also ! Been in the car trade for 30+ years !
Legally that car does not need a mot !
@@yorkshirewanderer9957its called a historic vehicle, no mot needed ...over 40 years old ..
Wow, you guys must be the biggest penny pinchers in the Uk.
Couldn't even afford to change brake calipers.
It's heart wrenching watching you guys.
Nuff respect for your hustle but I still think you'll get better audience by investing in the cars you possess.
Brilliant 👍👍
If it were rust free, I think it might have been worth the extra effort to really do it up.
Sell it to the new King Charles, he and Camilla can enjoy the back seat
All that work and the buyer is going to part it out? Not a chance. I'd be looking for someone else.
Mymatevince has entered the chat
I’m amazed how small the brake disc are for the weight they need to stop
You don't understand braking.
The old motor bike mechanic on shed and buried always checks for a spark on any old car before he dos anything else i would have thought youd do the same as this is always gona happen on an old car
Its was the same story with the BMW mini, they did. They decided to go straight to the water pump, turned out to be a simple thermostat failure, which was peanuts to buy.
😄@@procta2343
They did that on the video!
Waste a day driving to Coventry 😮
These guys are cool…. Love the accents……!
You huys make your money on you tube. The cars a nice extra. Love it, i am yealous😅😅
Not when you run the figures.
Surely the number plate worth £250-400
Great episode this. you can almost hear your brain working!
Bangers and cash 💸
Has greg used blonde hair dye ? Greg and guss top lads, great show
clearly a labor of love. I bet they sell the sunroof for good $$
My guess is the number plate is worth almost as much as the car, if that guy takes parts of it why would he.. Its hardly a spares car and watching other car resto's it could have had more work done.
I have an Astra Bertone 2.2 convertible this year I just want to get it cheaply mot ed and then over the year do a rolling restoration I only paid £350 and it came with a £700 quid private plate which at the time of purchase I was clueless about. But the guy selling tried playing the game by me getting it through mot and then gaining the number plate of the car.
On the open market I see really nice well cared for Astra 2.2 and the smaller engine cars but on the odd occasion you see a very low mileage one owner for bigger money..
I have a few other convertibles and they need some work before they end up worse off..
Oh yeah also I've seen a cool looking 1954 Morris Minor just like the one my dad had and it is my dream to possibly purchase it.. however I've already treated myself to my 60th birthday present a 2001 Jaguar 4.0 in Burgundy Its in better condition than my previous 2000 Jaguar 3.2..
Keep up the interesting work..
Sooo much talking!!!!! More car details of work being done would be appreciated 😉
Should have bought the MK4 Golf
6 minutes to cut to the chase that things a shocker
Like scrap,it
Clearly lost money. I guess they just managed to cut their losses as much as possible
£100 would have been better , I've bought some Crap over the year's so your not alone !
£150 for the reconditioned pump sounds good to me
Sir Humphrey would describe you as...Courageous.
fuel pump is the same as a rover 110 p4
Should of gone for the golf . 😂
Great episode 😊
The reg is worth quite a bit on its own..
£200 to an end user, that's if it's valid. To a plate trader, less than half of that.
The Rollie is a mess, but no fix, ---how much will it make for spares?🤔
I love Gordon Ramsey
The of metal at the moment scrap value would fetch £600 plus
That is over $3.000 in US dollars, that is too much for that car here but I love it. Those poor dry cylinders..
Great show gentlemen
Buying the car in the first place was mental as anything, I honestly think you got away lightly there gentlemen, now don't do that foolishness again, you could very easily loose your shirt on a car like that, madness, 😮
I love these blokes, They really make watching them fix these old cars fun. They used to be seen here in the USA . I guess Velocity did not renew their contract. I like the british auto shows they work togeter really well and is more enjoyable. Velocity is showing repeats of US car repair shows which I am sick of. I wish they would show more british car shows. The british are more classy . I like flipping baners more than Wheeler Dealer cause Mike Brewer takes most of the credit in Wheeler dealer. I think the mechanics get tired of him really fast..
Brewer is a wanker with a string of failed businesses behind him. He has a bad reputation for not paying his bills to those prepping his cars.
Yeah...BREWER is just a BIG EGOCENTRIC ASSHOLE, with a lot of LucK..His mechanoal Assistants were so much BETTER Guys (Cool guys, generous, smart but probably too much Soft )
