What I like about this show is that it reminds me of the initial seasons of Wheeler Dealers, just before Mike ruined it. I would like these guys to put more work on the cars even if that means more days working on it
I agree it is “mirroring” the earlier series of WD. I see that they are also introducing more 3rd party specialist into doing up the cars too, as opposed series 1 & 2.
Paul Brackley (Technical Advisor) and Daniel Allum (Executive Producer) both worked on Wheeler Dealers during the Attaboy days. Please don't bash Mike Brewer (FYI, I was firmly on Edd's side when he left WD). Things went downhill when Discovery became the producers and you can't blame Mike for that as he's just the presenter. He didn't ruin WD.

For parts means they will as much out of it and thr rest ends in Banger racing. They love Rolls Royce in banger racing since others hate them being destroyed.

wonderful car, english history. that model Rolls Royce is one of the last real Rolls Royce cars. i would do a complete restauration and keep it forever.
If you were planning to do a full restoration on one of these or any car that you don’t already own then it’s nearly always cheaper to find a better example that may be quite a bit more expensive as that will work out much cheaper in the end. It’s also entirely possible that it’s cheaper to just buy a nicely restored example rather than do it yourself..
I have to agree, no way were they offered 5000 pounds and your right they were lucky to get 2500 from these guys but I still wonder how do they pass the MOT or are there special arrangements for 40 year old cars, we don't have yearly checks in Australia. We get gouged enough on the rego.
It’s a fun conceit, but it is very contrived - for example they haven’t given up their jobs - they’re presenters! I enjoy it for what it is, but it’s a show, don’t listen to the guff about money, budgets, time constraints- they’re part of the show, it’s not about flipping cars to make money, it’s about delivering audiences to advertisers to make money. I can enjoy the show but I’m not kidding myself about what the real business model is.
As I recall, Harry Metcalfe at Harrys Garage, only paid £4k for his white Silver Shadow, and he took it to the Artic Circle. I think you did a good job, and it is a pity the format of the show requires such a quick sale to a guy only wanting to break it. Still good viewing. Thanks guys.

When you try for the first time to start a car that has been sitting that you know nothing about and it's got a column shifter, just work that shifter a bit, maybe it isn't properly set in park. ...and now back to the two fellas as they discuss their options with a dead starter or...(?) Okay, as soon as the deal is made (I have yet to get to know these blokes by name) the man that stayed outside has found a wire that is errant. Good detective work. So my theory was not the case. ...again, back to the video.

These two are together and individually really good, likeable presenters. The premise for the show is quirky, and the target rarely reached, they like to tinker more than they like money, but thats in keeping with the show. They should have auditioned for top gear as they would have had a broader appeal than the celebs that got that job.
No more so that an Aston, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche or any other very expensive car. Plenty of used spares and a decent old school mechanic should be able to fix most things.

Will shit him self when he heard the price of a second hand fuel pump for it, and i think that stopped them throwing anymore money at it. So basically it was get it running, rolling and stopping, then get shot. A bit too nice of a car to dismantle though, but if some of the bits on it go for what its advertised, then i can see its worth more in bits.

The engines and gearboxes don't break so there is little demand.The ancillaries do. Bonnet and boot lids rarely sell either and when they do they aren't worth much. Grill and mascot is £1k.
My guess is the number plate is worth almost as much as the car, if that guy takes parts of it why would he.. Its hardly a spares car and watching other car resto's it could have had more work done. I have an Astra Bertone 2.2 convertible this year I just want to get it cheaply mot ed and then over the year do a rolling restoration I only paid £350 and it came with a £700 quid private plate which at the time of purchase I was clueless about. But the guy selling tried playing the game by me getting it through mot and then gaining the number plate of the car. On the open market I see really nice well cared for Astra 2.2 and the smaller engine cars but on the odd occasion you see a very low mileage one owner for bigger money.. I have a few other convertibles and they need some work before they end up worse off.. Oh yeah also I've seen a cool looking 1954 Morris Minor just like the one my dad had and it is my dream to possibly purchase it.. however I've already treated myself to my 60th birthday present a 2001 Jaguar 4.0 in Burgundy Its in better condition than my previous 2000 Jaguar 3.2.. Keep up the interesting work..

Not to criticise the vid - it’s brilliant and I hopee the views do you very well, but it feels criminal to get rid of it for that and for spares and repairs Part of the reason for commenting is to help the analytics, however I am a programmer maker in a different context and I do think making a few extra pennies feels important as I’m left with a gap to fill - you worked SO hard and it deserved more 0- however BRILLIANT vid and will sub.
DVLA says no MoT , no transfer. I speak from experience… You would have to MoT it - which is why that number doesn’t show up on the MoT checker. The guy who bought it took the parts he wanted and scrapped it.

Steam clean the seats, then saddle soap, then seal with a clear leather spray conditioner. I did my Bentley and had good results.🎉

This was heavily edited so you don't know what may happened that we didn't see.
The car has two brake low pressure warning lights on the dash one for each of the two braking systems. Simple check.
