It goes without saying that dal bhat and momos are popular dishes in Nepal. So I called in Backstreet Academy (the only company to do food tours in Kathmandu) to shed insight into other top foods in Nepal. Kanti, is my Kathmandu travel guide, taking me into secret spots and a Kathmandu that most tourists don’t know about. Its gonna be a Nepali feast! Watch past Kathmandu food tours: Part 1: www.youtube.com/watch?v=o50h6... Part 2: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3x2Af...
I don think you are still in nepal but next time you are in nepal do check out the nepalese foodstagrammers in insta ofc. Since you are veggie like me, i suggest you to check veggiedelight.np😊
i am so proud of that interpreter/guide for taking to the typical place rather than fancy ones cause they truly justify the typical flavors and culture hats off
Hello! I am from kathmandu. Miss kanti explained each and every thing correct and right and the way she is describing newari food...she just nailed it...and i am also from newar community
+Sadish Manandhar Love to the Newar community! Agreed, Kanti nails it in all these food videos. In all the countries I've been to, she one of the best guides I've had. =)
Awesome video, Christine! I love all the food choices you have presented us in this two part tour you did in Nepal. I really like this tour, and will have to see if I can get in on the "secret tour," haha. I can't wait to get over there and take the food tour that you did, the young woman looks like she really enjoys doing it, and would make it a terrific experience!
I am sending a friend from Nepal who I met in Japan he owns a couple Nepal resturants in Japan---- I think he and his friends will love this video and your channel. Again I loved it.
Your videos are very helpful and informative. I am going to Nepal in 8 weeks (October 2019 from Denver Colorado) and have booked 3 things with Backstreet, including this food tour and the Panauti home stay. I am excited about this and so much appreciate the recommendations.
Omg I tried the yogurt place when I was in Nepal back in 2015 and it was literally the best thing, it was so sweet and nutty loved it!! It was so busy too. Man I love my countries food!! Can’t wait to go back and try more food. Loved the video.😃😁👍👍

Hi mam, watching your vlog travelling throughout the streets and corners of Kathmandu is so amazing wonderful. You are on your own way, entering inside the tiny story, events and foods of nepal, we rarely find this kind of video on UA-cam. Thanks for visiting nepal 🇳🇵 Namaste 😊🙏
Thanks Christine looking cute 💕 lovely tour, I was over there over 15 years ago...does not look to change much !!! Some of the food was not the best for me .....
+Englishman in Malta . I was there in 2008 and it didn't feel like much had changed either. Before leaving for this trip, I read trying street food on your own is not advised, which is also why I researched and took this street food tour. . You need to know the right vendors or eat at restaurants. Refrigeration practices aren't always strong. =)
Wow. Thanks for this. I actually was looking in food tours in Kathmandu and wonder about the food tour service with backstreet academy. Seems worth everg penny. Glad i came accross to this. Will be travelling this august for 4 days, any itinerary recommendations? Thanks christine. Love your videos.

+bearded traveller Haha. Very mitocha! 😋
I love all these what I call "original mom and pop shops" where the foods are made from fresh from scratch from the heart.
+ht3oldnavy . That's the beauty of the places Kanti showed me-- these hole-in-the-wall shops feel so homey- a slice of traditional cooking.
Kanti thapa is wonderful guide, she knew all small corner restaurants, and lots of knowledge about food and nepalese culture
I am sending a friend from Nepal who I met in Japan he owns a couple Nepal resturants in Japan---- I think he and his friends will love this video and your channel. Again I loved it.

The color of the lassi may have come from the saffron ? Not becoz its buffalo's milk !!???
