I have the mini sandwich maker and use it often. I always butter my bread instead of oiling the plates, works every time and it's easy to wipe clean. Would highly recommend it.
Yeah years ago they came from australia with long tongs to do it over the fire, and called jaffle irons. Then evolved to electric jaffle makers. We use a lot thinner bread and as has been said you always butter the outside. Then theres ,tuna, chopped onion and some cheese(bit longer cook) or my invention -banana,cheese and a dab of vegemite. Sounds weird but works. Its hard not to overstuff ..
I agree the Ninja appears to b a great product again I don't dig cleaning gadgets like this. No dishwasher. The salad spinner I bought has too many parts to clean I doubt if ill ever buy another.
Ninja Chopper amazing I got mine years ago it came with 2 containers so you could lift blade out leave chopped veg in container in fridge and put blade in next container. For folk with hand dexterity issues I can highly recommend it is, a little workhorse
The Ninja chopper is almost identical to mine that I have had for at least 15 years, except mine also came with a larger container in addition to the smaller one (and storage lids). There are blades for both. I believe it was one of the first products Ninja ever made. It was very inexpensive and continues to work great and I use it almost weekly.
Thank you for showing Bailey! The bacon cooker is a no go because I don’t want grease on my microwave. The cutting mats, however, look good, especially for $5.00. I’m on my way to Walmart for a chopper!
I have had the Ninja Chopper for about three years now, and love it. It works so quickly, it’s easy to clean, works well for hard items, as well as for blending up soft items, such as cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and lemon, to make a dessert. Mine came with my Ninja 5 In One Grill. The sandwich maker, while it made the bread a bit too flattened, it worked quickly, evenly toasted the bread, and the cheese was nicely melted. The most impressive thing about it was that you did not need to spread butter or even mayonnaise on the bread beforehand. Yet, the sandwich came out looking very appealing. The popcorn bowl was a hit for me…efficient and mess free. Those chopping boards are not worthwhile. I bought them once, and soon enough they started to get cracks, stained greatly, especially in the cut marks, and for chopping extra hard foods such as carrots, they were not the greatest. As compared to a decent wooden board, the food tended to roll around too much while chopping. The bacon cooking rack was a bit of a waste of money, I feel. It made a good mess, and took a bit too long to cook the bacon. It is easier to just lay bacon strips down on a piece of parchment paper, on a tray, and either cook it in the microwave or oven. To prevent added mess, cover the top with another piece of parchment paper. Also, I could see it being just another item taken up needed space in a cupboard. Your microwave is powerful, so I did expect it to cook a bit faster. It looks like your local Walmart is very well stocked with reasonably priced items to choose from. Thanks for reviewing these items. 😊
I've done brown paper bag popcorn and I agree that its fast and easy, but I'll just stick to stovetop popcorn. I'll even eat the popcorn right out of the pot.
I tried plain brown bags about 5 times. The next time the bag caught on fire, scorching the inside of the microwave. I decided the bags in the supermarket have something special about them.
I have a collapsible silicone bowl that works well. I've used paper bags a couple of times, but I worry about folding the top so that it'll stay closed.
We love the cutting mats. We also use them to line our freezer walls in the RV. Frost builds up on them, we pull them out, knock off the frost and put them back in. They work great
I have the Ninja blender you talked about in this video and it’s great! I use it 6-7 days a week. At using it twice a day (including cleaning), I only need to charge it about once a week. I didn’t like the BlendJet, but this one by Ninja is a keeper ♥️
Totally agree. I had a cat that was very sick and I needed to blend her food and I even stuck cooked chicken breast in the ninja added some water and it was just amazing how it puréed it.
What's easier is to put bacon on a paper towel that is on a plate and then cover the bacon with either a microwave splash lid or just with another paper towel. That's way cheaper and leaves no mess for the microwave and about 2-3 minutes for a 1,000 watt microwave for about 8 strips is just fine to make them fully crispy cooked and not burnt. So these gadgets i.m.o. aren't worth the money since they only do one thing and the bacon has to be folded over and it's obviously cooked in a folded over way.
Agreed. That’s all we ever do and it always comes out great with no splatter mess and less grease left on the bacon. Glass plate, paper towel, strips of bacon, cover with another paper towel, and our microwave is perfect at one minute per slice.
Question: popcorn bowl, how much of the corn was left that didn't pop? That's what makes a product worth buying. You can pop corn in paperbg, so can let us know.
The mini sandwich maker is called a jaffle maker in Australia. It was invented here in 1949. I highly recommend using it with puff pastry and making dessert ones with Nutella and bananas.
I'm curious.....have you ever tried the flexible cutting mats from Dollar Tree? Are they as durable as the ones that you tried from Walmart? I think you get 3 to a pack for the type they have at Dollar Tree.
As for the bacon wheel/wizard. That is up to a few things. How crispy you eat your bacon, Your microwave's wattage. Some folks don't like their bacon as crispy as you do. So it is like the sandwich cooker. Up to the person eating the results.
I agree that chopper was pretty awesome. I think that is going on my birthday wishlist lol. I was wondering about those ice cubes. They definitely need some serious washing before I would stick them in my drink but might work good for coolers or ice packs.
The cutting mats are great. I've been using mine for at least 3yrs. They are marred but I haven't cut through any of them. They don't slip, easy to wash, you can fold/curl them, lightweight , & cost effective
Have those exact cutting mats. They warp so bad in the dishwasher, but they do keep my nice board clean longer so I use them a lot. Had mine for years now.
I love my Ninja chopper - I was as surprised as you at the efficiency of this little guy. No need to pull out my Blendtec for little quantities any longer! :)
I don't cook bacon in the microwave any more, but the best method I found was just to lay your bacon out in a plate and cover, cook on high for about three minutes. If it cooks laying down, it fries in it's own fat. All these gadgets, or cooking on paper towels, separate the fat out. The reason bacon tastes better in the pan is because you're cooking it in hot fat. So just use a plate!
@@PlasmaOne Well, I don't cook bacon in the microwave any more, as I said. The air fryer or toaster oven or regular oven is much better, but that's 20-25 minutes. Microwave bacon takes three. That's why not.
I used an earlier version of the Nordic Ware popcorn bowl for years and it is great but I found a WW healthy kitchen silicone bowl at Burlington store for $1.99 & its now my favorite. Works great , folds up to a smaller size & no silicone taste to popcorn. Most silicone things I've tried in past leave a weird taste for me (ice trays etc) making me discontinue use but not my popcorn bowl. Love it
That would be good for someone who is Jewish as well because they can't mix. I follow lady who has different sponges for meat and dairy, and then a sponge to clean off her vegetables and she uses blue for dairy and red for meat. All of her kitchen items are Color-coded Her channel is called frum it up.
I love that bacon maker, you can cook a whole pound if you use the middle section, the outside cooks faster and they do stick together and are hard to get out, but it's the best way to cook a whole pound at a time, if it's not fully cooked I give it more time. I think I got mine from Amazon.
Love that chopper.. With non stick frying pans they all work great while relatively new, its all about how long the non stick lasts over an extended period of time
Plastic ice cubes are a must-have if you like your wine super cold! No ice to water down the wine! 😊 They are super easy to rinse off and store in a zip lock in the freezer.
Don't know if I wrote this but my best method of salting popcorn is to put a little bit of cooking oil (1/10 of regular cup maybe) and salt (like half of the small spoon) into a regular plastic shopping bag and put popcorn in the bag and tumble it in this bag for a minute. Perfectly salted popcorn. Greetings from Poland. You might do some experiments with proportions yourself.
I have had the Ninja Chopper for years. I love it today as much as I did when I received it. The blades are still just as sharp. I do handwash the blade.
Love LOVE my Ninja chopper. Had mine now for about 3 months. Great for chopping nuts really fine, like pecans. Even chicken. It's just a perfect food chopper.
I used to have those cutting boards. Used them as a board for making bread too. The marks only get worse. Lost them during a move. Will get them again.
I got that Ninja chopper for free with my purchase of my 7 in 1 Foodi Grill (which I love) and it is very efficient. So efficient that I usually just chop by hand because it completely pulverizes anything you put in there. Cool if you want to make like cilantro or minced garlic or something though.
I've had the flexible cutting boards before and they are very good. I also have an ice thing similar to the one in the review, I use mine to help cool off leftovers before putting them in the fridge. And I think you sold me on getting that Ninja chopper.
The NordicWare popcorn bowl is made here where I live (well, in the twin city). Their HQ and factory are in Minneapolis/St. Louis Park. They even have a retail outlet next the HQ.
I have had that Ninja chopper for years. It’s great. You do have to be careful not to arrange the stuff in the chopper because someone can get caught under a blade and not get chopped.
My first set of plastic cutting boards probably lasted about 15 years before they were too scratched up to clean thoroughly so they got repurposed into the potting shed. The replacements have held up well now for four or five years. Mostly cooking for one, I found it useful to cut a couple of them in half since I don't always need such a big surface and the half-size is very convenient and easier to clean and dry.
I bought a Beautiful air fryer for $30, because my old one croked. I was pleasantly surprised. Would love to see a comparison of cheap air fryers under$50.
I have those cutting boards and I really like them especially for cutting veggies on one and chicken on another to keep them separate. I’ve had them since August and I use really sharp knives on them. They’ve held up nicely and clean easily too. Also use them a lot to make avocado toast on❤
One thing I will say about the ice cubes in plastic...they won't dilute your drink. As for the bacon maker paper towels would prevent splatter but bacon lets off so much moisture if they made a plastic cover the bacon might never get crispy.
I have the cutting mats. They are very serviceable, but they do tend to slip. I just put a piece of that rubber shelf lining under the mat, or even a kitchen towel to keep it in place. The rest of the stuff, nope.
I have a similar cheap set of cutting mats that I have had for a long time. I really like them and will purchase more in the future. No more Expensive cutting boards for me.
As far as the NINJA chopper, I prefer the manual versions. Those have better control and will do a better job, as you can chop as well as mixing batter. These use multiple blades which can chop quickly as they turn faster than your turning the blades, as they are geared up. Additionally, you can add liquids without taking the lid off or you can add other small items. You are also less likely to purée the items. My sister was dicing up things to put on a bunch of tacos and I did the same. She was doing it by hand. I finished doing all my vegetables and she was still dicing the onion. We diced up onions, 3 different color peppers and tomatoes. The blades are very sharp and didn’t maul the tomatoes or peppers. The trouble I see is that you have very little control on slicing peppers or tomatoes. With the onions it’s about the same. You can cut the onion in halve, putting both halves in at the same time and it goes through it very quickly in a second or two. They also sell one that you can wash a little fruit and pour off the water after you spin the fruit in the included basket. Then you can put the blade in and dice the fruit into smaller pieces. It’s also quieter sounding and has an egg separator built into the lid. The one I have, that I bought long ago, even has a separate lid for slicing and shredding.
I've been using the cutting boards for years...in fact I need to go get a new set as my old ones are pretty old. They are very nice. One thing though is while you can put them in your dishwasher, you shouldn't as they will bend over from the heat and block the water. They wash up in the sink very easily.
I had a sandwich maker just like that one, and used it once and left it at the thrift store. I need to check out the cutting mats. I need to look at the Ninja chopper!
I have the same chopper from chefman that’s like 10 years old and still going strong. Mine has a big pitcher also and covers for both size containers. It was cheap back then but I suggest trying to find one instead of paying more for the brand
As a niece of a chef you are supposed to remove the seeds from peppers before you eat them and wash the inside n outside of the peppers. 😊 The cutting mats for 5 bucks have been around for years. I love them.lve used them for years. I keep one on my counter at all times. Love your reviews. Paper towels and a paper bag make the best bacon maker. 1 min per piece of bacon. Easy clean up. Open the paper bag ,line with 2 sheets of paper towel, then make layers 3 slices to one layer with 2 sheets of paper towels. In between. Then turn the ends of the paper bag over tape with kitchen masking tape. Put in microwave. Let sit 2mins before removing. No mess in the microwave. Cut the bag open, remove bacon. Yum BLTS.
Most colored cutting boards are color coded by a standard, I just don't remember that it is. Blue for fish, yellow for poultry, red fro beef and green for veggie. I don't know that they really set one for pork and it may go with beef.
I have had the Ninja Chopper for years. I use it all the time. Ninja is a good brand. I have several different items. I have the Nutra Ninja DUO and had the motor go out. I kept my receipt and had no problem getting a replacement for a very small fee, even though the warranty had expired.
6:00 wonder how the toast tongs would work with the sandwich gadget. Seems like there’s a chance they’d be helpful getting a hot sandwich out without damaging the non stick surface.
That Ninja Chopper you reviewed i have had for a few years now and is used daily .got it at Target when it was for $20.Can't go wrong with Ninja products and pretty sure you will find alot of use out of it.
Those flex cutting mats are a great kitchen value, even at 2X the price. I got a little over 2 years out of first set, with moderate use. Just picked up a new set.
The reusable ice cubes are not for everyday use. I would say if you're going to use them as ice cubes individually they are mainly for whiskey or alcoholic beverages. You don't want to water down by using normal ice
The Mini Sandwich maker there that does the triangles we call a Jaffle Maker in Australia. Very popular here, moreso than the standard grilled cheese on a flat grill type of sandwich press.
For the ice sheets, there's another version but they're plastic balls that have water inside (I think). You put them in the freezer & use them to keep your drink cold
I’ve had a ninja chopper for quite a few years now. I love it. The container has a few cracks in it now how so I need to replace it. Guess I’ll probably just have to buy a whole new chopper set though doubt I can get just the jar
We have been using those flexible cutting boards for years. They hold up great. Even the really old slippery ones were durable, but the new ones with grip are fantastic
I use reusable ice cubes in an ice pack. Just throw the ice pack in the freezer and you are good to go. I do wash them about once a month, the cubes and the ice pack. If you are using the ice pack like I do for aches and pains, and sometimes headaches, you don't notice the freezer smell. Just cover it with a towel and it will last for a couple of hours.
I love checking out all the kitchen gadgets at Walmart when I go. Something about random kitchen utensils is so intriguing
My downfall is kitchen gadgets. If I didn’t live in a studio apartment, I’d have a lot more.
My toddler highly recommends the Nordicware popcorn bowl it doubles as a amazing hat.

My sister has had that mini chopper for YEARS! It is still going strong and she still uses it regularly
Of course you're gonna pick up that microwave doughnut maker. Can't wait for the review! Happy new year!
You can use the cutting boards as place mats for the children for easy cleaning
I got the popcorn maker years ago. Wasn’t impressed. But I still have the bowl. Very practical for a small plastic bowl.
Wow the Ninja express chopper is amazing! Def picking one of those up
Wow it’s half the price at Target $19.99 compared to Amazon $39
I've been using the cutting boards for years...in fact I need to go get a new set as my old ones are pretty old. They are very nice. One thing though is while you can put them in your dishwasher, you shouldn't as they will bend over from the heat and block the water. They wash up in the sink very easily.
The Ninja stuff works pretty good. We have that chopper and a blender. They work but the thin plastic makes them very very loud.
Yum BLTS.
I love Ninja Products, too!!!
Happy New Year, James!!!
Most colored cutting boards are color coded by a standard, I just don't remember that it is. Blue for fish, yellow for poultry, red fro beef and green for veggie. I don't know that they really set one for pork and it may go with beef.
The cutting board colors are standard, I think. Both kitchens I’ve worked at used that color system
I have had the Ninja Chopper for years. I use it all the time. Ninja is a good brand. I have several different items. I have the Nutra Ninja DUO and had the motor go out. I kept my receipt and had no problem getting a replacement for a very small fee, even though the warranty had expired.
I have had the chopping mats for several years and still going strong! They hold up in the dishwasher too but i leave the drying heater off.
I bought a set of those cutting mats years ago. They are great and the price is even better. Plus they take up almost no space for storage.
The ice cubes are great for an ice pack (the old fashioned kind with the screw off cap) it keeps the pack cold and doesn’t sweat.
We had those sandwich makers in the 1980's, same design, function, and lack of features. They've always been good.
That ninja is like the older model I have with motor on top and interchangeable containers and blades. I love mine
My wife and I use some of them flat mats for several years and they never cut through and lasted good. Still in use.
Those chopping boards are popular with van lifers and backpackers, thin works take up little space.
I bought the cutting mats from Wal Mart in 2005, different shades-same colors, and we still use them at least 3 times a week.
I wonder if a fly net for picnics would work for splatter with the bacon. The umbrella style.🤷♀️
I have some flexible cutting mats that I need to replace. So thanks for the review on those!
James, I snagged one of those mini sandwich makers at Walmart today for $7.53 including tax - thanks for the tip
Perfect video! A great amount of Bailey, fast and simple review but yet had depth. Keep it up!
