      I’ve never truly understood the dislike for air up. I got one to try it out and it genuinely has been a good product. I used to only drink fizzy drinks or squash/cordial, but now I’m only on water. The pods work, some better than others, but I’ve had no issues and only positives

      @@remus5759 I think most people's annoyance with it is people pretending to like it when in reality very few people actually end up liking it.
      Even for people trying to kick a dependence on sugary drinks there's a sea of sugar free drinks that you can try out instead of trying to trick your senses into thinking the drink has flavor.

    Butter Bell: I've been using one of these for over 20 years. You DO NOT need a utensil to pack the bell. Just peel the paper back from your stick of butter, moving the paper to cover the palm of your hand and just mash the butter into the bell. So easy. You leave it on the counter and you always have nice soft butter for spreading.

I already have a bigger slow cooker, so it's just used for rice and it does its job beautifully. No more having to baby sit a pot of rice so that it didn't bubble over (which, it almost always did anyways). I could finally multi-task during dinner. I've had the Blender Bottle pro for years. It has multiple compartments that you can screw onto the bottom. It comes in handy if you need multiple mixes or supplements with you, or even snacks. It is very sturdy and survived quite a few drops down concrete stairs. The biggest negative IMO is that there is no insulation, so the outside and bottom become covered with condensation, ruining whatever powder you put in the storage, and ice melts quickly. Can coozies don't fit, so I cut a piece of cheap yoga mat and hot glued a sleeve shape. Much more attractive than my previous effort: shoving in an old gym sock.

    Still works, just covered the outside with Gorilla Tape, to protect the internals, yes I managed to save the flap, and put it under the tape then cut it out with x-acto knife. For me, the air up was effective with flavour but because of the way it works with taking in so much air with the water every time you drink I found that after less than 24 hours of use I had such awful bloating and painful trapped wind that I had to stopped using the bottle.
    I do have some health issues that include digestive issues, but I would say that digestive health issues (such as irritable bowel syndrome, etc) are not uncommon at all, yet when I contacted the company they seemed to never have heard of anyone ever having had an issue like mine before, which seems strange as I can't be completely unique. It felt like they didn't want to admit that it might be a real issue in case I was going to demand some kind of compensation, which I wasn't, I just wanted to report an issue I had experienced and see if there was any possible way to resolve the issue so I could keep using the bottle as I really wanted to like it (and I was very clear in my message to them that this was my aim in messaging them).
    I did try the bottle a couple more times with the same results and ended up giving it away to a friend's daughter

      Memories of our elderly babysitter who drank tea twice daily. Used a saucepan on the stove for thirty years to boil water….I used all my Christmas money to buy her Mirro Copper kettle she had until she moved into assisted living…thirty years later. That’s easily a fifty five year old memory.

    • @goose-lw6js
      @goose-lw6js 2 місяці тому +7

      Electric kettles are a bit more useful in the UK. They take twice as long to bring water to boil in the US because of the lower mains voltage (US: 110V max 15A. UK: 230V, 13A).

    • @nutsandgum

      Still weirds me out how rare kettles are over the in US. Wouldnt have a household in Australia without one.

    • @florihae
      @florihae 2 місяці тому

      @@goose-lw6js only partially true.
      Many kettles arround here in Europe are also only 1800W (just like in the US) and the stronger ones are capped at 2300W
      That is barely noticeable in boiling time.

    The Light Board with its smudges, fingerprints, hard to find replacement pen, and kitchen light, is not worth the cost, the clock was too cheaply made, the blade of the blender was too sensitive. Overall, the blender will most likely be hit and miss. Anything that attaches to my phone, worries me, as the magnet may fail at some point, the charging feature is handy though, but is too expensive. The doughnut maker is a fail, and in comparison, making them in an Air Fryer is a bit like apples and oranges, and it will probably end up at the back of a cupboard soon. The Spill Not is chancey, and do we need to pay for an item so as to make it handy to carry a drink around? Well, if a person had two arthritic hands, it may be useful?! The omelet maker costs money and takes up space. However, we can use a frying pan just as easy. I missed your original test of the bottle, but again, it appears to be too gimmicky. Also, unlike turning on the tap, a person would need to keep spending money to buy replacement pods. 😢 I would love to see your stash of ‘dud items’; bet it is large.

    Over 6 minutes to boil a kettle seems extremely long. I'm in the UK where everyone has electric kettles, I wonder if it takes so much longer than I'm used to because it's not a very good kettle or because of the voltage difference between the US and UK.
