Great soul, great troubles. Humble and talented footballer. The world enjoyed watching him play, no matter the skin color. We love him yesterday and today. Nice guy!
I think had Mario been a little older and playing in the mid-late 90’s that Ferguson would’ve took him to Utd and been the perfect fit as manager. Mario needed bespoke man-management, sadly he never reached his full potential due to being allowed to fly off the rails, despite showing glimpses of excellence. He had that Cantona essence about him for sure.
I always thought that Mario would be amazing at Barcelona. His technical abbilities would be good enough and yet he have the physicality Barca is missing since years. I was hoping so many tranfer windows he will come... but the closest what I got was Boateng. I asked for the King and I got the prince.
I think you did a great video. It was an evenly balanced, great piece of journalism. But as child abandoned myself, a medical researcher (hence familiar with pyschology and psychiatry) and a person who has experienced a tremendous amount of racism my whole life in and out of sport, allow me to add a few key points. Irrespective of whether Mario's original parents were able to afford his expensive treatments for his medical condition as a child and even though Mario may apprecuate that now, I can tell you that deep down inside at such a young age to be abandoned by your parents who had another child, leaves you with a deep seated sense of abandonment your entire life, it does not matter that the Balotelli family loved him and made his life better later on, it is very hard to erase the lack of self confidence abandoned children carry with them their entire lives. Your sense of self worth is very fragile, so early on football was a means by which to build his self confidence and to elevate his self esteem. But then imagine you are surrounded by team mates who are not as talented as you and who make more mistakes than you but are being encouraged by the coaches and the fans to keep trying and work harder, as it should be for all athletes, but then when you make mistakes, you are constantly told you are not even considered human, by monkey chants, the racism is bad enough for the average black player from a stable confident background, but the racism for someone with such a fragile level of self confidence, its like playing football with a weighted 20kg jacket on and 5kg ankle weights, that is what racism can feel like to the average player, so we can't imagine how it felt for Mario. Now to the lovely Balloteli family, no doubt they loved Mario and gave him that love and attention and not to mention treatment he needed to put his life on track. And let me be clear I am very much in support of mixed race families, but let me put it this way, a lovely white couple, adopts a poor, very sick, abandoned black kid, I know they loved him and gave him everything he needed but how much discipline and how harsh would they have been in disciplining Mario, for as a parent myself, I can tell you its hard to tell your kids off or set down rules to develop a certain type of behaviour, I am by no means saying the Balotelli's spoilt Mario, but I am saying put yourself in their shoes, bless them and think how hard would you have been in not giving in to a teenager when he pushes the boundaries. At at the very same time he is excelling in a sport where we produce young players to whom we never say no, provided they are perfect, the more talented you are, the less we say no, but in Mario's case if you make a mistake, we will remind you how worthless you are and how much we resent you for the talent you have. As a young black man what is the instinctive thing to do ? It's called "acting out ", you do stupid things that get attention, I can tell you, I've been there, when people are looking down on you, sometimes it breaks you down and you do stupid things because that low standard of behaviour, is what is expected of you, "if they don't care about me, why should I care about myself, the consequences of my actions or about anything" is the mentality that ensues. This mentality only changes as you mature and realise in life, not many people care about you, irrespective of your color and that our job is to make the world a better place for future generations. I hope that Mario uses his experiences to be an inspirational coach or mentor for young talented players with diificult starts in life and inherently fragile egos, I hope his exeperiences coupled with the love the Balloteli's gave him as a family, makes him a most devoted father who never abandons his children but is there to give them the most confident starts in life and egos of steel, such that when our children are exposed to racism, they are confident enough to ignore it, but not be deeply affected by it and let it pull us down as it has for Mario, myself and millions of other black athletes. I look forward to watching and supporting your other viedos in this series. Also really liked alot of the comments from football fans below, it was this great video plus the comments below that made me want to add this perspective.

@@paulhodgetts1803 when was it said that Mario treated everyone poorly? Also, disrespect from one person is a is significantly more manageable than racism or disrespect from an entire fanbase. Pretty common sense there Paul
In terms of skill and potential, Balotelli was at Ibrahimovic level. He was incredible in finding the net in difficult position. And at least Mancini and Mourinho saw his potential. He was supposed to stand equal with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi
Mario Balotelli is the example of the gifted kid that take his talent for granted. He played according on his mood. Scoring a goal whenever he feels happy to do it so. He could be bigger than Aguero or Suarez but sadly his attitude drove him back to his low level right now.
Please pull it together Mario...you still have a spot on the national team bro. I watched you debut with my Inter, I tipped you for success both club amd nationally. He destroyed his career due to his idiot behaviour Inter ManCity Liverpool big clubs ,he self destructed because of his lazyness and decipline Italy had enough of him because of his behaviour
6:16 that roulette he did he explained to Mancini afterwards that he thought he was offside and heard the referee whistled. The whistle came from the crowd watching the game.
His main problem is that he was too entitled. Just because your life was hard growing up doesn't mean it owes you something. You're not the only one. Use better the chances it throws at you, instead of taking them for granted.

Being black and having lived in Italy exactly under his rise to fame , many of us could relate with him , for tourists Italy sounds like an amazing country to visit , but for us living there in the daily , racism was a constant reality we lived with , Mario choose to not play the victim or PC facing racism and many of us followed his example , despite getting even more animosity in response , we didn't care , we were just tired of getting called "sporco negro!" all the GD time.
So I'll always love him for that .
💪🏾
I don't remind a gentleman like Seedorf ever been called sporco negro...
Quite the opposite, he was praised for his quality as a player and a man.
Balotelli should have learnt from him.
@@oinkoink1850 Seedorf knows racism very much from his plays with the Dutch. He was the most decorated Dutch player at the time but never got recognition because he is originally from Suriname.
@@yawos9024 that's not racism. If you are born elsewhere that's completely separate from race
@@yawos9024 Never got recognition? He is a knight of the order of Orange Nassau...
I'm really a fan of him especially during the 2012 euro and its really shame that he doesn't reach to his full potential because this guy truly a exceptional striker and because of him also Aguero can score his iconic goal that winning Man City their first EPL tittle in 40 years
Hugely enjoyable video. Your love of Mario shines through - added with that bit of homour that has been the coping mechanims amongst Mario's mangagers and supporters alike.("Why always me...."-well......)
Playing angry birds on the bench fuck this lads funny 🤣
To be fair if he was on the bench he couldn’t help the lads on the field , I’ve seen a lot of players fall asleep on the bench especially if there wasn’t name as a backup on game day so playing angry birds aren’t the worse thing in the world
@@johanjames4663 true that
@@johanjames4663 there is no justification for playing angry birds even if he was on d bench. He's been paid to either watch and learn from his teammates while they play or he plays.

Throwing darts at Manchester City's Youth Players. Legend.
He made a mistake by coming to England to play football at such a young age. English media did a number on him and he never recovered.
Our media is the absolute WORST. He never stood a chance here.
Was worth it just to provide the assist to Sergio Agueroooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
@Grant Kerr Fine then, both English and Italian media is racist. It’s not a zero-sum game.
no. the fucking racistic action against him started in italy.
a country, whith a quite dangerous developement for the last months but also for some decades. too many rightwinging, never thinking pricks.
well, what am i talking about, im from the netherlands but living in germany, which is definately ruled by pricks, too.
@Grant Kerr if you stopped caring, why would you care about someone caring about it pointing it out? In my experience, those who express views like yours are usually closeted racists
that goal and that flex celebration is the highlight of his career ♥️🇧🇩
Well spoken. Great story about Balotelli's life. I hope he does well at Monza. 💓💯🙏❤️👌♥️💪
I cried when you left Liverpool. I didn't care how well you did I just loved the fact that you play for the team I support. yNwA Mario
WHY ALWAYS ME! Respect Balotelli.
@Neil he was a spoiled brat of an aging white couple
@@MikeMessiah Spoiled brat or not, he endured racist slurs from the spectators, had bananas thrown at him constantly and must have felt demoralized to hear racist chants as soon as he stepped out on the field!
@@nimue4325 i dont condone racism, but Mario was a total dickhead since his training days as a kid, and all the hate he recieved happened for a reason He is the type of guy who is nice to his freinds, and ppl who are "Yes men" but to anyone who strays from his opinion, he is a compelte asshole. Great video mate, I have liked it and subscribed. Looking forward to the next one :)
This man in the 2012 Euros was fucking incredible. Torched Germany and I loved every part of it
Dude, your videos have improved so much over the past year. This one is still good, but you can really tell how good you've gotten at this in your newer videos.
Most underrated player in world⚡ respect for this man🐉⚡
Great soul, great troubles. Humble and talented footballer. The world enjoyed watching him play, no matter the skin color. We love him yesterday and today. Nice guy!
Brilliant video. I love Mario! What a talent
I remember screaming happily when he score his 2nd goal against Germany..
This man never misses a penalty such a disgrace to a legend.
He was one of my best footballers when I was young
damn, what team did you manage?
Soccer is a Team sports not each man for himself. Mario will always be a great player.
I always thought that Mario would be amazing at Barcelona. His technical abbilities would be good enough and yet he have the physicality Barca is missing since years. I was hoping so many tranfer windows he will come... but the closest what I got was Boateng. I asked for the King and I got the prince.
Excellent video, excellent narration, absolutely loved it 👌🏾!
Great effort put in. I never really knew his story from the beginning. Thanks for this
Great man, I wish him all the best. I hope he now enjoys his football.
He was so good he couldn’t even put a training bib on
Best comment yet🤣
Mario Bibotelli
Legends don't need training bibs. The training bibs need them.
I fucking hated those training bits to .
Ok not
I think you did a great video.
After Raúl. Mario is my favorite player ever. So sad we couldn't see him on the big stage more then we got.
Why??.....
Very unfortunate, he was easily top 3 striker around 2011-2012. Some of his misfortunes was his own doing though but he could’ve really made a positive mark on both Italy and club football
Haha you should be on stage, terrible player
You always excel man. Once again well done. Please can you do Carlos Puyol? Like seriously this guys has won everything a man can want in football.
Balotelli!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Much respect,,, ppl always see just what's on screen n not what a person actually goes through n live day to day... Still very talented for me n reason y I support Man City today
That Giuseppe Conte 😂, you're awesome
It’s tragic he was treated so poorly. When I was growing up he was one of my favorite players, and a real inspiration.
It's sad that mario treated everyone at every club he played for so poorly, only he deserves respect, not the manger, not his teammates, him and only him.

He’s my fav player for reasons outside of the game ⚽️
In a perfect world he would have been a king .
If Balotelli could reach his full potential, he definitely would have won at least 2 Ballon D'ors.
Please pull it together Mario...you still have a spot on the national team bro. I watched you debut with my Inter, I tipped you for success both club amd nationally. The good thing now is, Mancini is the coach. That Italian front three is missing you rn, especially with a midfield trio of Barella,Sensi and Verratti. Then you have Insigne on one side and Bernadeschi/El Sharaway.
world class player.... but he need to be surrounded with good frens who can guide him and built his mental strength.... anyway great video .. love your effort!!!
I remember watching his very first games at Inter, he didn't play as a straiker, he played as a left winger and yeah, you could tell immediately he was no ordinary player.

I'm a LFC fan but I can't help liking this guy

I'm so happy for super Mario as he was recalled by national team, I wish him all the best and I hope he won't let them down.
Police stopped Balotelli as he was traveling in his luxury car. Police see that he has a large amount of money in the passenger seat and the police ask Balotelli. Why do you travel around with so much money in the car? Balotelli answers, because I can!
Balotelli is one of my favorite players who offers a lot of shows! Respect!!!
In Europe, there is a limit on how much cash one may carry while travelling. It's a money laundering law.
First 2 minutes could just be the full on explanation, damn he had a hard childhood.
You forgot to mention at after Euro finals he stormed out of dressing room and went and sat on the bus, and that was basically the end of his career with the National team.
So what? Maybe stop screaming racist chants so he would want to be there?
Agh not gonna lie the reason i don't like Italians is because of what yall did to Balotelli yall ungrateful really he helped you all but yall treated him like shit 💀
