"When I said that I'd seen the old man she screamed that I'd seen a
kontomblé ….. This was indeed my first serious connection with nature and the magic in it. This experience allowed me later on to wonder what other things might be hiding out there in nature that we choose not to notice, or that we are not open enough to allow into the view of our consciousness. "
