Instructions
00:00 Introduction
00:31 Arrange a rack to the center of your oven and preheat oven to 450F (230C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside (alternatively you may bake biscuits directly on ungreased baking sheet).
00:37 Cut butter into 8 pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 15 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted. Set aside to allow to cool.
00:48 Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined.
01:16 Pour buttermilk into a large measuring cup or medium-sized bowl. While whisking, slowly drizzle in melted butter until combined (it is OK if the butter separates a bit).
01:35 Pour buttermilk mixture into flour mixture and use a spatula or spoon to gently fold together until ingredients are just-combined. Don’t overmix or the biscuits may be dense and dry.
01:54 Scoop batter by approximately 3-Tablespoon-sized scoops and drop on prepared baking sheet, spacing biscuits at least 2” apart.
02:19 Transfer to 450F (230C) oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits are beginning to turn a light golden brown.
02:25 Remove from oven and allow to cool on baking sheet for several minutes before serving. If desired, brush additional melted butter over the biscuits while they are still warm.
Notes
Storing
These biscuits are best served warm but may be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.

I made this recipe last night. I used half and half instead of buttermilk because that's all I had and I have to say they came out delicious. The whole family loved it. The flavor was so so good. Quick easy and delicious recipe. Thank you ♥️
I'm so glad everyone enjoyed them so much! :)
So I just made a half a batch of these in my air fryer . I didn’t have buttermilk so I had to substitute it with sour cream and a little water. I was tempted to leave out the sugar, but I’m so glad I didn’t. These are the most delicious things that I’ve ever tasted!!!
Make these biscuits people…You won’t be disappointed!!
That's so awesome! I'm so glad you enjoyed them! :)
Just made this recipe (except used reg milk, didn't have buttermilk) Very good!! I will say unless you are making these for a dessert biscuit then next time I will use only 1 Tbs. of sugar. A tad sweet for a regular biscuit.
Thank you so helpful putting the recipe in the video description. Yummy!
I just came back by to say I made these for Sunday dinner last night and my family loved them. Best biscuits I've ever made.
That's awesome! I'm so glad everyone enjoyed them so much! :)
Just made a double batch of these and they were a huge winner with the family. Crunchy but moist and fluffy on the inside.
I left out the sugar and added a chunk of cheese in the center with fresh chives. Super yummy with soup!
Make these! ❤
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed them! 😊😊
As to the buttermilk. I have often gotten started in a recipe calling for buttermilk only to find I had none. Add a few drop of lemon to regular milk…wait about two minutes and you’re ready to go!
Sounds a lot like my easy buttermilk substitute! Works like a charm 😊
They sell buttermilk powder in the store. I always keep some in my fridge. You can either reconstitute it or mix the appropriate amount into the dry ingredients and sub milk into the wet.
These were so good. My four kids and hubby liked them. They kept raving how good they were. They remind me of chick-fil-A biscuits.
I'm so glad everyone enjoyed them so much! :)
This recipe was amazing! My family couldn’t get enough! It was just what I needed for a quick biscuit on a late night when we made breakfast for dinner. Thank you!
I'm so glad everyone enjoyed it so much! :)
I had 2 cups of buttermilk leftover from your Chantilly cake recipe so I whipped up a double batch of these. They are great! Fresh out of the oven, still warm, tender, and buttery! Thanks for the super simple recipe!
You’re welcome!! I’m glad you enjoyed them! 😊😊
I grew up in North Carolina and my mom always made drop biscuits once the kids got older. When we were little kids though, she would roll out biscuits and let us make crunchy little cinnamon sugar shapes from the dough scraps
I love the idea of cinnamon sugar dough scraps! I’d be alllll over that! 😊
exactly what i was thinking this morning
Great minds think alike! 😊
Hi there! A most try! Add a little old bay seasoning and cheddar cheese... yum!

I'm so glad you enjoyed them so much! :)
Great recipe! Thanks so much. I was looking for an easy biscuit dough recipe that I could incorporate into an impromptu casserole with ingredients I already had, and this worked amazing.
I’m glad it worked so well for you! 😊
We make them this way except we use lard for a better flavor plus it is cheaper. Butter is pretty high. Canned biscuits have really gotten expensive and this way is so fast and easy and not messy. Great biscuits and gravy.
Thank you so much!! My family loved them! I didn't have buttermilk so I made some. One of these days, I'm going to finally try real buttermilk. Thanks again. Love your channel.
You are so welcome! Yes, definitely try them with real buttermilk sometime 😊
Hon I just made these and they came out great.
Thank you so much ❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed them! :)
I have tried for a long time to make a good biscuit. I saw this video and tried it. Now it's my best and only biscuit foolproof recipe. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much your biscuits are so mouth watering. Mom loved them (my mom) I do all the cooking in the house as she's not able. I couldn't remember how to make biscuits but remembered I had a cooking lady who made a variety of entree's. Only thing I had changed was the buttermilk, used lactose free milk
You’re welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed them! 😊
Great cook...

I made you recipe and they came out excellent . Not dry , tasty ,light. I had three big ones ,I only made 8 biscuits so mine were a little large .

Thanks for the video. I'll give them a try, next time I'm cooking for the family. Though they all love your biscuits, they complain that I was taking too long. Take care ✌🏾
These are so easy, versatile and tasty! 😊
They seem to be great friends with soup. Autumn is coming after all.

I will definitely make those in the morning. We’re having a heat wave so it’s too late to turn on the oven. LOL
I hope you love them! 😊
I just made these with our dinner and they're delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe! The only thing I changed was that I used half and half instead of buttermilk, because it's what I had, but they turned out great.
I'm glad you enjoyed them! :)
Just had them with dinner. So good! I was impressed with how fluffy the insides were. These will be a regular now. The very picky teens even loved them.
I'm so glad everyone enjoyed them so much! :)
Made them with yogurt and cooking oil instead. Yummy
Im trying this out.

Yes!
💖👼🏻🌺
Need some chocolate gravy.
I have a video for that too! That would be perfect on top! 😊
am i the only one who is here for these (biscuits) being for breakfast though?
Sounds like a good breakfast to me! 😊😊
Thanks! These are some seriously good biscuits. And super easy makes them even better. 👍👍
You’re very welcome! I’m so glad you enjoy them so much! They are so easy and so tasty! 😊😊
When I measure the flour, do I pack it in and flatten it or just use the measuring cup and scoop it and not flatten it out completely? (Sorry it is hard to explain this through text and not out loud lol)
Always scoop and then level with a straight edge, don't ever pack it in. I hope that helps!
Hi Sam, this dough can be versatile in making the business savoury with herbs and cheese or sweet with berries or raisins/dried cranberries) reduced sugar type.
Also how many times would you test a recipe before perfecting it. I sometimes feed defeated if my first trial is a dud😊
This is definitely a versatile base! Sometimes it depends. Sometimes I can nail it first try (that's really rare) but I've been working on a pumpkin roll for so long and I just can't get it right. I have honestly probably tried 100 times. I will try for a while then I will table it for a while then try again.
@@SugarSpunRun I like your delivery style. I am also looking forward to your Pumpkin recipes 👍
we are making basically the same thing in foods!
Yummmm
can you use whole milk if you have no buttermilk at the time??
Actually, you can make my buttermilk substitute: ua-cam.com/video/nzXgl6ayZxc/v-deo.html
Can whole milk be substituted for buttermilk?
You’ll need a bit less whole milk and they won’t have as much flavor but it could work!
Can we make this with vegetable oil instead of butter? And make it more sweeter for children?
You know what? No one's answering after a year. I'll try..
If you use melted butter you can probably use ANY melted oil. It will change the flavor though. Maybe melted coconut oil would be good.
I followed the reciepe exactly but some how mine tasted way too salty😔😔 maybe I didn't melt the butter right or something. I did use unsalted butter but I don't even know how I messed this up because I did follow the reciepe 😔
Unfortunately I’m not sure how that could happen either. I’m sorry. 😔 normally I’d say it’s because you used salted butter and added salt but that doesn’t seem like the case.
@@SugarSpunRun I made them again but didn't add the salt at all, and I also added some regular milk too, I also let the butter cool a little more and it turned out perfect this time lol! Thanks!!😁
These looked sort of like those awesome biscuits you get at Red Lobster. I bet these are good too tho. ;-)
They definitely are good! 😊
My mixture ended up very very very loose. Not sure what I did wrong.
I'm so sorry to hear that! Is it possible there was either too much butter or not enough flour? :(
@@SugarSpunRun Idk I swear I followed the recipe correctly, but I added about a half cup more flour and it turned out fine so either my Florida apartment was super humid, or I got the measurements wrong lol
@lewisedwards4058 hmmm, well I’m glad they turned out! 😊
Why not just use self-rising flour and regular whole milk
I don't find it to be as good.
I used margarine instead of butter and they did not turn out crispy like yours. They taste and look like a kind of bread.
Ok, l just made them. 10 mins at 450 is too hot, too long. 🔥 The bottoms burned. Next time l'll try it at a lower temp & let them stay in a little longer.
Oh no! Your oven may be running hotter than it lets on 🙁
@@SugarSpunRun Yes, that probably is the case, no doubt. I'll have to do a little experimenting with lower temps & maybe just bake them a little longer. 🙂
Not a success at my house!
Oh no! What happened? Maybe I can help troubleshoot ☹️
Nope
I'm tiring of using my back button (even with CC on) you just talk too fast, It's not a race.
These aren't really meant to be baked along to. It's more of a guide for what things should look like. You can always see the full recipe below in the description, or you print it from my website to have it. :)
You lost me with the sugar. Nice try tough.
You're missing out! 😃
My daughter substituted honey instead. She added to the .elated butter
So I just made a half a batch of these in my air fryer . I didn’t have buttermilk so I had to substitute it with sour cream and a little water. I was tempted to leave out the sugar, but I’m so glad I didn’t. These are the most delicious things that I’ve ever tasted!!!

That’s awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed them! 😊
You can make fake buttermilk by adding a tablespoon of lemon juice to cup of milk
