I'll never forget my last visit to my doctor when he asked how I was able to reduce my blood sugar score so dramatically from my previous visit. I said, "intermittent fasting" and he literally rolled his eyes. This morbidly obese medical "expert" then explained to me how I should be eating at least six to eight times per day. I said, "Yeah? How's that working out for you?" It's the first time I've ever been fired as a patient. True story.
Arrogant, contemptible, unknowing and unconcerned doctor. Not shocking.
I think that we are our own best doctor, within reason of course. I love fasting. It has improved my overall health also thanks to Dr. Ekberg
Hahaha, good times, betcha drove home with a grin 😁
They started that 6 times a day in the early 80s, which got us here
If anything
Just eat 3 meals a day
No SNACKING
6 small meals, means snacks😞
The FIRST time?
The real issue is that fasting doesn’t make anyone a profit. So it must be “dangerous”.
Nobody buys snacks again.
Nobody eats 3 times a day anymore.
It’s a bad news for industry!
😂😂😂😂😂
Bingo to both
Agree 100%.. fasting has been practiced for Centuries..PRAYERFULLY!!
Thats what Ive been saying for 8 years to ppl who always tried to diminish fasting
This study was paid for by Big Pharma!
Five years ago, my wife and I started I.F. We realized early on that eating is nothing but a habit. Today, we don’t use the words intermittent fasting. For us, it’s just a simple lifestyle change. We’re in our 70’s and don’t understand ANY downsides to I.F. We’re very active, our weight is good and, at 70, we don’t take any drugs ever.
Bang on. Its a lifestyle. Something that is just routine and can be sustained for a lifetime. Unlike so many diets or eating fads whice deprive and limit people, making them give it up after a short period of time and they are back to their old ways. Keep inspiring 💪
I think it's important to take mushrooms or acid every once in a while
Excellent to hear . Well I listen to my body and eat when hungry. And when I do it's protein based . On the days I crave chocolate . I just eat it and enjoy it. Positive to read ❤
Smoke weed everyday 😊
Lost 40 lbs intermittent fasting, A1c way down, blood pressure way down, life much better. Doc wanted to put me on blood pressure meds, but I took my health in my own hands.
Same here.
fasting is taking money out of thier pockets.
and making you live longer, which they REALLY dont want
what about Otto Warburg and I saw his data explaining that fasting can starve cancer cells. I like fasting and I do it twice a week.
It has clinically been proven to fight cancer
Fasting takes millions out of the AMA pockets. When the AMA diagnoses a new cancer patient they say,"You are now worth $1 Million. (to us...)

People that believe this story no nothing about fasting and it's benefits.
For years I have heard friends say " Oh, that's bad for you".
Billions of people from different religions who fast regularly would disagree.
The Ancel Keys cherry picked seven countries study included data taken during Lent when many Crete islanders (i.e. Greece) in an area with a record for longevity were chosen for the study and who abstained from meat in that period and so were classed as low meat eaters.

You don't know those billions personally. How do you know what medical issues they have until death?
"Japanese cell biologist Yoshinori Ohsumi won the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2016 for his research on how cells recycle and renew their content, a process called autophagy. I used to have high cholesterol and was pre-diabetic, I started intermittent-fasting and all this is fixed and my blood test and overall health has been great ever since.

Hi guys. I’m a nurse practitioner, not currently practicing due to being a stay at home mom. Last week when I heard about this study, I had to look up a little more …. Based on even just the basic article reporting on it, I knew the study was BS to make the claim as put on the headlines. Stay healthy and independent critical thinkers. Thanks to this channel and so many others bringing forth the good info.
Fasting is a gateway drug to health. I started with fasting to now completely cutting out refined sugars, preservatives, seed oils and essentially all processed food. Im also looking into holistic medicine and what to consume for optimal health. Literally 95% of the grocery store is of limits to me and also most restaurant. I even went as far as removing potential toxic kitchenware. Even my soap and deodorant are non toxic, I even bought air purifiers for my home. I am now looking into removing micro plastic and other contaminants from my water. The door to this rabbit whole for me was fasting.
There is a website called Brambleberry that can teach and help you to make your own soap and other products. Its an awesome hobby and your skin will thank you.
I am an older woman who spent most of my life being morbidly obese. After decades of trying everything to lose weight, intermittent fasting, walking, and low-carb/keto diet fixed all of that. No more brain fog, tons of energy, and now down 130 pounds. And I get my 10,000 steps in walking everyday with my great-granddaughter!! Life is good, and I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for IF... 🥰😍🥰
Yea but u have 91% more risk for heart attack.. dahhh

I've consistently completed 340 days of 18-hour fasts. While I maintain a balanced diet most days, I occasionally indulge. Formerly overweight and discontent, fasting has gradually improved my well-being, reducing aches and boosting my activity level. My once protruding belly has given way to the early emergence of a defined six-pack. Moreover, my weight has stabilized, and I now enjoy deeper sleep and easier mornings.
Congrats man! 🎉
I am 57 years young😉, I have been doing intermediate fasting for the last 17 years. I Lost 80 pounds on it. Within last 17 years I have never put anything in my mouth other than water between 6pm and 10 am, I even sometimes go to 12pm. I started doing this after two of my siblings had bypass surgeries at 52 and 53. My heart is great and I will never go back. No mater what the doctors say.
Your proof.
Good job. Personally, anything coming out of the Heart Association has zero value for me. 74, super strong heart, on zero meds, work 5-6 days a week at an outdoor in all weather job, no aches and pains, clear minded, etc. Mostly carnivore diet and IF keep me healthy.
It's a scam. Tons of benefits from fasting
The liver is an amazing organ, storing at least 48 hours of glucose to give you all the energy you need during your fasting periods. As long as you are meeting your macros and micros and are in a calorie deficit, the pounds will come off. Intermitted fasting can make calorie control easier, and gives your pancreas a needed break from constantly producing insulin and digestive enzymes. How can it not help correct diabetes and cardiovascular issues if done correctly with a workout routine?
It's propaganda!! Fasting is the best way to control weight.
It’s good to see all the comments calling BS. Makes me feel better about the awakening that’s occurring in health and the corruption in the pharmaceutical industry.
Thank You !!!

At 47 I had open heart surgery due to a genetic aneurysm and 2 Blocked arteries because of it. ( Bicuspid valve ) In 1 month I’ll be 50. I’m in the best shape I have been and my cardiologist told me Intermittent fasting is a great option. Most of his staff is doing it. He is one of the top doctors in the field!
16:33 Had heart issues for several months, notice i was out of breath just walking to the car or up the stairs in my house.
I started to change my way of eating in the beginning of February 2024 and i stopped eating beef, chicken, pork and bread, pasta and other carbs.
Now i just eat seafood, fish, salmon, shrimp, veggies etc and i cook with avocado oil only or cook with the air fryer.
2 months later i can walk up the stairs, walk to my car, mow the yard, walk on the treadmill with no issues.
Tomorrow is Good Friday and the family will be eating meat on Sunday (Easter) after church so I'm sticking with my seafood and some veggies 🤔 16:33

I was 300 pounds at the start of my journey 6 months ago.
Tried everything and was not losing weight. I started intermittently fasting a few times a week in addition to everything I was already doing and i have lost 10-12 pounds of body fat EACH month, fixed my high blood pressure. I am currently down to 245. I have never felt better in my entire life and that has radiated out to other members of my family who are also now starting a health journey
Good job! Not only have you lost weight you're also inspiring others! Keep at it.
Good job. Keep going. It's trippy when you even out and find your weight. I notice things I'm not sure other people ever mention. Wind is stronger than we thought it was. Loose skin sucks but it is what it is for some. Get your pants tailored before you go buying new shit. It's cheaper, and you might think you've reached your weight but then you drop a few more sizes.
Real Story. Sounds doable to loose an avevage of 1/3. a pound a day or so. Good Job
It works keep up the good work do it clean and stay disciplined I speak from experience
but what are you doing when you reached your weight goal?
I’ve lost 6 stone. Intermittent fasting and this channel helped me a huge amount in loosing weight and becoming healthier. If being 22 stone is better than 16 then so be it, but I’d rather take my chances with my heart being 16 stone than 22!!
With 16:8 intermittent fasting, I managed to get rid of fat on my liver and overall my health has improved a lot. I lost 16 kgs (from 92 to 76 Kg) in four months & I feel much more active and sharper now, thanks to this routine 😊
The same American Heart Association that's done such a bang-up job of INCREASING heart disease? Now I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that intermittent fasting is very good for your heart.

They want people to be unhealthy. Healthy people are of no use to them. We don't make money for them.
Fat was bad, meat was bad, salt was bad, Sun was bad. Turned out that was all wrong and in fact the opposite was true. So if Fasting is bad, it's probably good.
I have seen pictures of people in the 40s 50s 60s even 70s and the majority of them looked slim and they cooked with animal fat but the last 30-40 years no so slim.
Factory made food and pharmaceutical drugs made from oil byproducts are the only things that are good for us. Don’t forget to stay inside to be safe! 😅
Sun IS bad - but only if you're routinely getting baked to a crisp. I'm pale enough that I can stand about 15-30 minutes of raw sunshine max before I need to slap on some sunblock or go back inside. (And now I knock back 5,000 IU vitamin D every day too.) A little bit of sunshine is good. Moderation is good.
Love you bro. Thank you for always having your community's back. I pray you live forever to continuously expose these money hungry corporations.
Some common sense: fasting was the standard for millions of years. Having full breakfast, 4-5 meals a day is a thing only from late 20th century Western diet. Do we see radical improvements in cardiovascular health in general?
Old enough to remember when the science said eggs were bad, and if you had 3 eggs a day, you were going to die from a heart attack. So people stopped or restricted their egg intake. Years later, macular degeneration is a problem in the population. Why? Tied to the lack of eggs in diet.
I’ve been skeptical of food science since.
Yup, the same with sugar being promoted.
Science as a process isn't actually that old. Back then, people knew far lass about the body, and had to make recommendations with a tiny amount of information. But without their work from back then, we wouldn't be where we are know, where scientists go into more and more complex parts of the body, like the gut microbiome. We are simply not fortunate enough to live in times in which science has a good grasp of how the whole body works, they are still figuring it out.
Also lets not forget about Animal Fat, Butter and Avocados!
@@lgolem09l You right. I should edit the post to say “science promoted by the American Heart Association”. I’m a pro science guy, great channel here called physionic that covers studies like these.
This is why I read UA-cam comments. I had somehow not heard of the link between egg consumption and reducing the risk of macular degeneration. When I started doing IF recently, I went with an eating window that shifts between 11-7 and 1-9 (depending on schedule) so my egg consumption dropped to near zero since I'd been eating them primarily around 8am before starting IF. Will have to start doing egg lunches once Lent is over.
If 16/8 causes heart attacks then eat 15/9 or 17/7, then no heart attacks.

Did you know they took a bribe from Procter and gamble in the 1950s to say that crisco was better for you than animal fat, they’ve been accepting bribes for 70 years
I don't trust them either. Their dietary guidelines will give you heart disease especially recommending so much vegetable oil.
American Heart Association also said that coconut oil causes Heart disease, which is another fraud, because it doesn't profit them at all

Fasting 18:6 has been so helpful to me. And I found it so easy to do. Most of my fasting hours are overnight as I sleep. I don't wake up hungry at all. Breakfast was my worst enemy. Grazing all day long will take you to diabetes and heart attack territory for sure.

I've been doing intermittent fasting for 5 years, and my high blood pressure has decreased. 🤷🏻♂️

In my first year, I did intermittent fasting for 7 days, and then it became 5 days a week. I indulge on weekends having clean breakfast. Intermittent fasting was recommended to me by my doctor.
I just had my annual cardiologist appointment when this study came out. Right before I left my appointment, my Cardiologist said remember to continue 12 hour IF !!!

Dude, thanks for giving me credit on what I sent you
At this point, we can find any viewpoint about anything, spun in any direction. It's hard to know what to believe anymore. I so appreciate your diligence to data and research. I trust your interpretations and look to you for what's really going on. Happy to report that I've lost 90 pounds in the last year. Keep up the good work!
My wife came home the other day and she heard this "fact" on the radio. She said some lady even called in and said " no wonder I feel so bad when I fast" my wife asked if this was true. As much as I already knew the answer I looked up what she was talking about and came to the same conclusion. To me what's sad about things like this is that people are more concerned about clicks and views than with what damage may be being done from what they put out there. Unfortunately a lot of people follow blindly and don't fact check.

I am so pleased to hear this from Thomas DeLauer. I’m the fittest I have ever been thanks to IF but the recent lies in the media scared me. I love fasting, I am more lean and toned in my 40’s than ever before and I don’t even feel like I’m on a diet. Thanks Thomas
Recent lies? Man, it would be better to try to find the last time the media was actually honest about ANYTHING.
Had me going then, nice one x
Saw the articles online and I thought; lets see what Tom has to say!
What’s sickening is how hard they make it for studies to be published, and this is the horseshit that makes its way through 🤦🏼♀️
The whole peer review process is completely broken and academia has turned into a ridiculous echo chamber bound to corporate interest and ideologies. Most people don't understand how bad it has gotten.
Money talks and food companies are extremely powerful

“It’s easier to fool people, than to convince people they’ve been fooled.” Intelligent people challenge their current beliefs and yet keep hold on to their current understanding. It’s obviously against what his previous beliefs were as well. But, he doesn’t let his ego get in the way to research and challenge his current beliefs.
Good on you. Thank you for the actual integrity in your posts.
❤
Love the breakdown and explaining to the public the skewed statistics that can be at play. Thank you
First line of your post says it all. 😎

I started fasting a year ago, when I went to the Dr for lab work, she was shocked how much my bad cholesterol had dropped and all the “good” cholesterol piked. I’ll never stop fasting!
