Learning African drumming (Djembe) is now recognised as having dramatic effect on neural pathways. Drumming generally improves a number of neural pathways - including those relating to empathy. Exciting work from the University of Chichester. Being part of a drumming circle also has a good effect on social contact. Drumming is used both with autistic children and geriatric patients.

I have same problem. If I have a fresh salad, it will be small and eaten at end of meal. I might also take a Zypan- natural digestive enzyme supplement also. My favorite meals are homemade soups made with organic bone broth, vegetables, and beans and herbs. I also find roast turkey breast with home made mashed potatoes and green beans , cooked carrots, is a favorite meal that is nutritious and easy on my gut.

We inherited a giant turmeric patch from the previous home owner. I got into gardening because of it and started consuming cold pressed juices with turmeric rhizomes. I dehydrate the fiber that doesn’t get composted, to sprinkle into every dish or smoothie I can. I also ferment turmeric in honey and my kiddos absolutely love it 💛

It only took me 29 years to figure out how to heal the brain after a stroke. BEING KIND TO THE BRAIN is the only way to heal. Its the opposite of muscle recovery. The healing brain hates vigorous physical activity, loud noise, alcohol, foul odors, bumpy roads to name a few. All the things that annoy small children are the same things that the brain dislikes, but, as adults we are to stooopid to realize what the brain hates or likes. Rest and quiet are things the healing brain likes.

I've followed (and when I say followed, I don't mean it in the sense of how we 'follow' on social media', I mean followed his advice and teachings, of Dr. Weil for decades. I've said it before and I'll say it again. There isn't a single thing that comes out of his mouth that isn't perfectly good sense and science backed. Even if Dr. Weil is simply stating his opinion, beginning with: "I think.....", it's a very, VERY good bet that it has been backed by science. The world would do very well to listen to and heed his advice.

Like the Beatles said, "All you need is love." Think less about your body and more about the good that surrounds you... Think more about your consciousness and less about your body, that will help you be a better person and with your conscious clean you also get peace... which helps your heart live longer. But, of course, you need to learn to see the good around you, and today most people don't see further than their noses and see through the eyes and opinions of others... when you're older you give less importance to trivialities and you acquire more internal peace...
Sir, women live longer than men... because men take the silliest chances that women won't! Learn to bend like an oak in the wind instead of fighting it and you'll leave longer.
Do you know that in Japan they consume huge quantities of Monosodium Glucomate and all they tell you about it here is not true? Everything is an issue in the US because people are overmedicated. Medicine is about money, not about your health.
    ABOVE ALL, DON'T FORGET GOD!

People need to take personal responsibility for their life and health.
The general over all health of people has declined the last few decades.
Even children today have signs of artery disease. Fast foods and sugary drinks have long term consequences.
There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese.
What is common today and "NORMAL" is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications.
Heart attacks were once only common in people over 65. Today people in their 40 are having heart attacks.
Add more plants and vegetables to your diet and less junk and overly processed foods. Being thin is a sign of good health. Being over weight or obese is a sign of bad health. Poor diet, lack of exercise and obesity are contributing to high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

Excellent question. My mother had five c-sections in 1950s and early 1960s (necessary due to albumin poisonings). I think we are ALL on the spectrum, although two are diagnosed and three are not formally diagnosed. I'm not formally diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I'm on the spectrum -- as to mircrobiome -- I nearly died as an infant, unable to digest anything. Three more of my siblings had very severe "food allergies." Not like peanut allergies, but failure to digest, severe brain fog, colitis, etc. All over-average in intellect (gifted child stuff). We were all thin despite eating huge amounts of food (raised on a farm, goat milk, garden veg, lots of fruit and nuts). Now that I'm 68 I am enjoying apple cider vinegar after meals and sometimes Betaine HCL with meals. Have been wondering about fecal microbia transplant.

Don't smoke, but what if most of your life, like many "baby boomers" , you have breathed in massive amounts of second hand smoke before many public places cut off smoking in restaurant, etc.

Does everyone realize this guy is 80!!! He's doing GREAT for 80. The proof is in the pudding. Indeed. For the men/women thing, I have heard that women outlast men because as they age, women have a stronger constitution than men. Men fall apart as they have a weaker constitution when they get older. Now, when you are younger, I believe testosterone gives men a HUGE advantage over women. Not only does it provide strength, but importantly, it gives men a positive, more cheerful outlook as well as drive to get out and accomplish.
