@@degelepassant1186 That's what I notice as well and it's not sitting well with me. Everyone has a way of expressing themselves individually. Why does it constantly need to be interpreted, it comes across like you're trying to say what he said "better" than him. I've noticed it with other guests as well. We laugh about it at home, like oh lawd here goes Lewis competing with his guests again. There is no need for that. True meaning underlies words. The ego can be very clever and deceptive in its intentions, of "learning." Allowing things to be, like the master did, is the way of the heart. This is the way of unconditional love, which is what he is teaching us. I know his English is not perfect, but I get the message, loud and clear, no need for intellectual iteration. Thanks for having on the amazing guests you have on, please check the ego at the door and allow your guests to speak freely, I would appreciate that. The viewers are intelligent enough to get the message. No need to whitemansplain everything lol. That's my perspective anyways. Take care.

Powerful stuff Im Japanese and recently came across Shi Heng Yis interviews and its been helping me tremendously he truly is a master. sadly after WW2 the first thing the US government did was abolish schools that taught buddhist teachings (was a different form of buddism but has similar teachings) as it didnt fit into their capitalist vision. some of the teachings still remain but its dying out through generations and its a shame because these teachings help us reflect, teach us morals and kindness and ultimately master the mind. Thank you so much Lewis for these fantastic interviews, just wish there weren't adds every 3 munites lol but i am grateful for your podcasts and try to watch at least one everyday

    17:30 Respect for one's parents
    18:45 Separation
    *developing theme*
    Action begins in feeling
20:25 What is inside, the motivation within? Feeling.
21:25 The root of ill will, anger, negative emotion; triggers, the root of a trigger, lack of adjustment as a state of the mind
23:20 Going beyond ill will, final release, being rid of a feeling/motivation, what feelings do we tap and why
24:35 Overcoming ill will requires an elevated perspective allowing distance from emotional identification
25:50 Importance of proper, non critical, positive support; feeling is a choice, choose what feels good and makes one feel stronger

I found great clarity in this monks kind teachings. I have heard many teachings about the risks of sensory desires before, but the way he talked about positive feelings ( which our advertising cultures continually promote on all media), being not good or bad, but just potential impediments to our goals, was so accessible to my understanding, thankyou.
For example, i have a problem with comfort eating when stressed. I know i am covering unpleasant feelings and distracting my uneasy thoughts by the strong pleasure of tasty food, yet could not seem to break the pattern. To simply realise that a positive feeling may be as destructive to ones goals as an unpleasant one, gives me the mental space to better evaluate my thoughts, feelings and behavior in terms of authenticity, and goals. It removes the guilt/self indulgence ( not self care), self blame/low esteem part of the circular maladaptive behavior. I can then choose to assess my self critical or pessimistic thoughts and properly address that orientation. Thankyou. A vital piece of wisdom.

Recalling your experience alone with yourself only. Come to a sense of compassion for others realizing how many skills you have learned about yourself that others are missing insight for themselves.
Know thy self. Here we have 2 remarkable men seeking and sharing learning. The monk is clear in his explanations. Lewis is understanding much. But it is a new way of life and thinking that is not impacting Lewis' life unless he chooses to practice the learning and compassion for others. The monk is so knowledgeable, his level of growth is so advanced, so calm and full of peace that Lewis is overcome by the monk's sacred presence. He takes good care of himself. His skin shines with good health. Lewis recognizes the elegance of the monk. His amazing composure. Confidence. Brilliant. Yes. Inner wisdom reflected outward. Great show. The monk has trained himself to the nth degree with Shaolin practices. The mind is the Builder. He is a prime example of discipline of mind applying Shaolin principles. Honed to a sharp edge. Never saw anyone so together, congruent. All about Mastery of his way of life. One of the best shows on the School of Greatness. Grazie 😊

This was the calmest most peaceful and endearing talk you presented to us Lewis. I've followed the Master for a long while and everything he presented to us I've practiced and am still learning, growing and moving forward. While it's a fact that we must look to ourselves for everything no man is an island. You've asked so many very important questions and I could guess - I had an inner knowing of each of his responses. That's how in tuned I am with the different philosophies of this world. Thank you and must say you've grown so much as the few years progressed - you are so much more grounded in who you are and becoming. So let's all celebrate our advancement, at our own pace and support others to do as well.

“Ill Will” covers so many feelings. Getting into a place of peace requires the space of “rising above”. It took me many years to understand how to do that. Once you find this place, you can observe your behavior & chose to change certain patterns or habits. Thanks, this was an awesome reminder

I love how Shi Heng Yi stands true and tall in his essence. Specially at the end, this energy of "challenge" brought by the host was very unecessary in regards to the Shaolin principles Shi Heng Yi embodies. He came to share his perspectives to help other human beings. Nothing about him is for the purpose of fufilling his ego. What I will say is that the host is very good at bringing out the humanity out of his guests. Exploring philosophies through vulnerability is a blessing.
